This applies to my sister, not me:

When you sign up for three different language courses in one year.

(She wants to take French, Spanish, and German in high school)

I'm doing that next year but with Japanese level 2, french level 2, and Spanish level 1.

It's so sad crying

I was stressed to the point of not sleeping normally and crying for hours on end a bit ago and NOTHING worked - not music, baths, reading, playing with my brother, or anything else at all.

Then I learned some verb conjugations in Hebrew and I got all happy 4laugh

Some weeks ago the neighbour of my grandma got me down so that the whole suicidal thoughts came up again. I took out my Japanese dictionary, learnt some - and the world was okay again.

Yeah, not long ago I was so stressed out that my parents were considering bringing me to the hospital's psych ward (no, really!), but then I started studying the uses and formation of the instrumental case and calmed right down. gonk

I would not say I am obsessed. Instead of what appears to be the general rule here, French is very difficult for me and I do not plan to learn a third language after passing my necessary French classes.

On the other hand; here are two 'you know when' items for you that have happend to me.

1) Your friend repetedly brings you songs in French from movies she watches and wants you to translate them.

2) At your job a customer asks a coworker about a French musician and that coworker immediatly refers the customer to you.

I've put the songs aside for the moment, but I will translate them. I had no idea of the person the customer was asking about.

Hey, at least you know how to make yourself happy!

How about this one?
Your exams just finished, and your plans for the 4 months of holidays involve studying languages everyday.

(Yes, I just finished my exams and I now have 4 months of holidays coming up.)

... you see advertisements and idly wonder why they don't write them in kana or in hangul because that would be way more interesting than latin script and need two minutes to realize that there are actually people in your country who can't read those scripts.

... you are happy to have Cantonese songs stuck in you mind after watching a Cantonese movie (and that song was not from the soundtrack!) even though you don't understand a single word Cantonese and are no way in hell crazy enough to want to learn it as an adult.
