Damiano looked at the map bestowed upon him by Brantalis. He could sense the growing danger around him. The sensation was one he wasn't comfortable with. The knot in his stomach, the ache in his mind, it all made him feel ill. However, he knew he had to guide Aiva and himself to Brantalis' study. Hopefully they'd find some answers there.

After moments of doing nothing but staring blankly at the map, he finally managed to see which direction they were heading in. He was thankful for what Brantalis did by marking the location of the room on the map. Now if only Damiano knew where they were on the blasted thing! At that moment, Damiano thought of something. He had a spell that could possibly help, one he had learned back at home when he was still an apprentice.

Placing the map on the ground, he looked up at Aiva with half-focussed eyes. "I know where the room is, but I must determine where we are on this map before we continue and get ourselves lost. I have a spell to aid us in this, but I require something of yours, perhaps a strand of hair? Without it the spell will most likely fail," Damiano said, the words of the spell already on the tip of his tongue, ready to burst forth and cast the spell. Oh how he wanted to just send the magic flowing through him, to feel that ecstasy once more! But he knew he must wait, if only for a short time. It would be worth the wait.

Vilya heard the stranger move off, but only relaxed a while after he had gone.
Forgive, huh. If Tura had been here she'd have been more than happy to take him on..as it stood though, she was glad he decided they weren't worth it.
"I think we're safe for a bit." She said finally, going over to a gnarled tree and sitting with her back against it.
"We should rest for now, and figure out how to get back to the others tomorrow.
Vilya closed her eyes, trying not to think of Tura being so far away.
Tura had actually come to her village before Vilya had turned seventeen. They had been steadfast friends for a long time and were seldom apart. She would never admit it but she missed the gryphon, and it wasn't just the fault of the spirit bond.

It was almost too dark for Tura, even with her keen sight she could barely make out the human shapes on the outskirts of the town. The giveaway was Asako's brilliant flaming feathers.
Silently she dove off the roof and swooped down towards them.
She made sure to contact the phoenix so as not to startle them before she landed gracefully a few feet off.

Quickly she told Asako all that had happened and told her also of the meeting place Brantalis had arranged for them.

((....er...Tura has super eagle eyes! yeah that's it, and technically the creatures are still present so I think speaking to them while in the stones it legit....but what did you want me to do? :_: *griffin confoozled*))

((I never really thought about the creatures speaking with each other while they were sealed... I'm gonna say that I think it would work... we've already done several examples of our creatures speaking to each other while they were nowhere near each other, like on opposite sides of a castle or something. I suppose them being sealed would be similar. We're going to have to put an official range on our creatures telepathy though. Or perhaps it should be based on other factors, like the power/strength of a creature, or their magical ability? Lemme know what you guys thinks.))

((I think deciding a range based on the magical abilities of a creature sounds fine, but that requires defining the "magical abilities" as well. Power/strength would also require defining as well, but I assume you mean physical strength, which I think is irrelevant to telepathic communication.

This is just an idea, but how about letting the binding stone work like a radar according to the person's magical energy? We've developed some of the limits of our characters, therefore, deciding a range should not be too hard. In other words, the binding stone creates a invisible 'web' with the range established by the wearer, where it 'picks up' signals from other binding stones that sends the signal of any creatures within the range to the occupant of its stone. If the creature is outside its binding stone range, then it loses all contact except with its partner. The downfall of this suggestion is that the creature of the binding stone will be able to sense the opponent as well, or contact other creature that they have no clue who they are, but perhaps, you can say that the two owners of the stones must meet first and recognize themselves to each other before establishing such connection.

It's getting a little more complicated than I wanted to explain, but I'm in that weird technical mood, no thanks to my finals. *Shot for babbling*))

Asako relayed everything that she had heard from Tura to Minatsuki. Every word she heard, Minatsuki's face contorted with disgust towards this red imperial soldiers that were harassing the town.



Minatsuki relayed her thoughts to Tura through Asako as she held her breath and watched the quarrel between the civilians and the imperials, two gigantic creatures blocking both sides.
