Wow, Gaia now gets 2% of the sale price of items listed on the marketplace. That is so lame. I tried putting a donation item up for like 10k less than the usual listed price, and they want to take like 3k from me for selling it. Like it isn't hard enough making money on this site as it is.

You know, I'm completely pro-2%-tax. Eventually, it'll drive prices down by removing gold from the system, thus making it easier to buy items that were once unreachable. If you don't like it, you can still sell in the Exchange. By the way, I have a contest entry now!

A similar lsiting fee is present in City of Heroes/Villains. It doesn't seem to do any harm there, so I have no issue with it here.

Yes and same goes for Wow auction houses, and the auction houses of the Jeuno, the major city in FFXI. The difference is, in those games it isn't (pardon my french) ******** impossible to earn enough money. The rate that I use this site, it will take me abut 3 days to earn back just what they wanted to tax me for selling that item.

To the rich, getting gold is easy, and their methods drive up inflation. This tax will be more helpful in the long run for buyers than sellers, since it will help slow down gold gain for the rich much more than for the poor.
