Hazmas goes diving through the haystack again! Apparently he had fun being a trollian scarecrow and decided to give it another shot! Unfortunately, what came out was hardly a troll and more of a bundle of straw with horns. Machim hooted at the bundle as it emerged, unsure whether or not this was her charge or some other trollian miscreant. Sure enough, it hooted back and, with a swipe of its hand, revealed itself to be her little Hazmas.

He puffed ruffled straw from his hair. No needle or button this time.

After shaking himself off, Hazmas emerged from the bundle of straw he'd become and made his way to the mooncake booth to give his cooking another try. Knowing his track record, however, Machim wisely stood afar off and waited for her charge to finish from a distance.

She walked slowly to the haystack. She didn't want this to be her very last chance to win, but it was. After she finished playing, Angel would come for her, and probably be mean to her, and take away her nice things she won because they are dirty lowblood things. She kneeled at the haystack and fished around. There was only hay here. At least she had her two buttons!

Gnash pensively worked on the last batch of mooncakes. As she took them out, the booth owner came over and told her they looked real nice! The best she's ever seen the seadweller make.

"Really? My very best and now at the last time?" She smiled. She would at least have this memory! Gnash took another box of the nice mooncakes in exchange for her really nice ones, so she could have some later. She beamed proudly as she left the booth, and thanked the
woman running this booth. It had been one of her favorites!

Current crops: 10 punkins, 0 tarnips, 0 totatoes <- amount before this action!
Action: turnin in 9 punkins
Crop gain/loss: goodbye nine punkins
Tickets won: 3

She could only turn in ten crops at a time, and since punkins were three per ticket, she decided to turn in all but one. She netted herself three tickets, and kept her one punkin. She knew just what she could do with this! The community pot would like it. It was very big and colorful and tasty looking punkin, and would be just perfect!

Her last stop at the jubilee. She could already see Angel starting to walk towards her. Her lusus would resume following her around now. She picked a nice vegetable to go into the pot, and added her punkin as well. She hoped her lusus still let her taste the pot. She'd worked so hard to fill it all this time! She didn't get any tickets, but she would always have her memories of this fun farm festival!

"Nooooo!!" Cried the yellowblood, scrambling and rolling around in the hay for what seemed like an eternity. "NOOO! Where are youuu?" Even with her determination, Elidae just couldn't find that needle. Not even a button. She had searched time and time again, but always come up with nothing but hay. Hay, hay, hay. Siting on a pile of it, Elidae clutched her face and dragged down. Here she was, empty handed with so much time wasted. Of course, she would never admit that, as she never, ever wanted to give up on something. Eventually, she picked herself up and brushed down with a frustrated huff. Forcing a cracked smile, Elidae walked away. There was always next sweep!

"Ooooh?" Elidae cooed, opening the oven door and pulling out the mooncakes. "P-... Perfect!!" Even if the stamp was pressed too light, the cakes were cooked to perfection. Poking with a gentle finger, Elidae could just tell they were good. Once cooled down enough, she wiggled her fingers in anticipation, expecting wonderful flavor.

After taking a bite, her chewing slowed. Then she stopped mid chew. There was a long pause, before tears sprang to her eyes and her mouth opened, dropping the half eaten bite of mooncake into the palm of her hand. She gagged. "Oh... my gosh..." Soooo bad! So bad! Elidae made a long, drawn out noise of sadness, immediately tossing all the mooncakes into the trash.

When she turned back to her lusus, Elidae broke out into a nervous giggle fit. "Ahah! Ahahaha! Daaaad, I just can't seem to get the hang of this."

Astonished, Elidae observed the orangeblood be an adorable and rambunctious kid, entirely amused. A genuine smile grew, as well as a minor pang of guilt for feeling upset previously. It wasn't every day you met a troll with as much or even more energy than yourself! "Wowowow! Are you squishy like jello?" Gentle but firm, Elidae poked the orangeblood's cheek and giggled. On the matter of her apology, the yellowblood simply waved her hand. "It's okay, it happens!" She chirped, completely devoid of any contempt she felt before. How could she after such a cute apology?

"Ooooh! They really are!" Elidae said in response to the punkins, taking the one from Lutrin's hand."Mmm, I like soaking them in sea salt and roasting them. So good!" Elidae puckered her lips at the thought; perhaps she would keep and take home some of the punkins herself. It would a little heavy for the trek back into New Hemisect, but mmm, punkin seeds. Free punkin seeds. But she only needed one or two, maybe save one for the community pot...?

Elidae handed the punkin back to Lutrin. "Weeeellllll, if you like punkins so much, would you like most mine? I don't think they're worth much at the barter booth, and I'm obviously not quite as prepared as you are!" She paused. "But do you even have room in that giant sack of yours?" She teased the other girl, giggling.

"Welp! Glad I saved this last punkin! I'm sure it'll taste great in the soup!" Elidae chimed merrily, dropping her last vegetable from her barter crop into the large, bubbling pot as her final contribution. Even after eating many questionably made mooncakes and festival food, her stomach growled in response to the delightful aroma. She definitely looked forward to when they would be serving it for all the festival goers!

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Chiara had had her fun, and now she was stuck with a pile of vegetables. Of course she turned in what she could, but for some reason there was a limit on how many the guy would take a day? Its like he was trying to dissuade trolls from hording and then turning in. So rude. But then Chiara saw Lutrin. Maybe she liked vegetables....

"Hey Lutrin!" Chiara called to the brownblood, heaving her basket of mostly punkins over to her sleepover buddy. "Ive got all these punkins, and a few totatoes to boot, and i have no idea what to do with them." Chiara inched closer to her brownblooded friend. "I hear you like punkins, maybe if you butter me up ill let a few go your way, huh?" Chiara grinned, she loved teasing Lutrin.

This was it. It was starting to get lighter out. Leeroi and Glitch had to head back to their temporary rental hive before the sun decided to show. Leeroi had to find the needle. It was now, or never.

With a war cry, the blueblood dove into the haystack one last time, tearing through the hay with incredible fervor. He caught a glean at the bottom of the stack... Could it be?

Leeroi swam down, eyes filling with tears. The last prize, it was finally his! Except... Wait. Leeroi grabbed at the shiny object. It was definitely not a needle. It was just an incredibly thin, short, shiny piece of hay. Leeroi screamed for his lusus. Enough with this stupid game! There probably wasn't even a real needle in this haystack.

Dismayed by his haystack failures, Leeroi hardly paid any attention to his newest batch of mooncakes. He had boxes and boxes already. What was the point if he couldn't have it all? If he couldn't have the needle? Leeroi gave a harrumph and crossed his arms. Stupid haystacks. They hadn't done anything but ruin his night.

With an angry kick, Leeroi knocked the mooncakes off their platter and onto the ground. They weren't worthy of his consumption, anyways.
