I have a question... say you have an aunt and she had a child with a man before marrying your uncle would the daughter of said child be considered a cousin even if she were not related to you by blood?

I think they wouldn't technically be your cousin unless your uncle adopted them, but I know my family would still call them a cousin.

I think it really depends on how open your family is, Zach and I very recently discussed something similar. We were talking about how I consider the son of my grandpa's new wife's daughter my cousin, and the daughter my aunt. He for some reason thinks of them more as family friends which really irritated me. It was a long discussion for lots of reasons that are unnecessary to this story, but it came down to his family only considering blood relatives and immediately married people family and and rejecting any people stemming from the married person. My family just loves everyone I guess. Of course as I was telling him this just now he said his family doesn't think that, he just thinks it as far as telling me who I get to consider family in my family.
I don't know if that made sense, all the branches off other people made iy confusing.
