Didn’t need to be told to keep at Feldspar’s back, and not just because the guy had a harder time getting around the battlefield than most. Weissite was new, and while his general was clearly occupied decimating the enemy, figured it was best to stay in numbers.

It looked like they were winning. It felt like they were winning. He’d never been in the presence of such overwhelming chaos, but that probably meant Order would start doing desperate things, and he didn’t want to be caught on his own (and didn’t want to leave Feldspar to fend for himself) if one of them happened to turn into a really pissed-off-at-everyone monster.

Stayed with his red-headed friend, and lashed out with a kick at some dude going after the generator.

Teeth. Tentacles. Tentacle hugs. If this had been a few weeks ago, Amsvartnir would have said this was the best dream of his life. Now, it was more like a nightmare.

"Ganymede," he responded, "I asked her to... Chaos made me feel sick, Albite. I didn't want to feel sick anymore. And I feel so much better being... Amsvartnir.. than I ever did as Thorite. Except for the time I spent with you, of course."

He smiled a bit. "I miss you," he admitted, "But I had to do what was best for my soul. And this..."

He gestured to the actual chaos happening around them, to the black creeping over his rainbows.

"This was never it. This feeling that's coming back - i don't want this Albite, it feels so terrible." Tears sprung to his eyes, though he tried desperately to hold them back. "And... look, if you can't help us stop this, I get it. Just... let me go. For old times sake. I can't let this happen to me again."

Caedus’ breathing was ragged and his body felt cold. Maybe he heard Scylla or Encke or Oberon and just didn’t have the strength to respond. Maybe he was just unconscious and blissfully unaware of the damage raging around him.

When Sessrumnir lifted him, he didn’t move. His breathing was shallow, but his body was trying to hold on. He wasn’t ready to die.

He just didn’t have much of a choice, now.

His hand on the lever might have done something if he had a starseed to connect with it; instead, the lever didn’t move. Something in the machine sparked, but it was hard to tell if it had anything to do Caedus’ hand on it, or just the erratic flow of energy from the comet into it.

Lyndin did not die when Andronicus struck at him; her magic hit him but seemed to melt into his skin. He was not shaken and he did not move. Hyperborea’s blinding starlight absorbed into him; he unhanded nothing.

He did not try to protect the console, he did not look to see who was attacking it. He did not want to see who among their numbers was working against him.

He was grateful to all of the Cadets for being there--whether they trusted him or not. He was Vyn and Aliez, Itztenoch, Nessaela, and Eso, Cypher and Silvera, Fangnyl.

Lyndin’s eyes were heavy. He was disappointed, and every new obstacle seemed to be building on top of that. He was paler now, and there was a light sheen of sweat across his forehead. He was either in pain or exerting great effort to maintain himself.

His glowing eyes settled on the group of Cades that had gathered in front of him. There wasn’t much time to give them, but he looked at Fae-Fae, and Naeria, and Caelyna. At Lysvi and Yddagen.

For them, he was sympathetic. They were scared. They had lost friends, family. They didn’t understand.

I don’t want anyone else to die, either. Not us, not them. I’m not leaving any of our own behind.

The crystals around their fallen were resilient and had slowly begun to glow, much like his eyes. The glow of the crystals were more faint, but no less brilliant. He saw the way Naeria wobbled on her feet and looked like he might try to reach out to help her, but now more than ever--with all of them in close proximity--he seemed to be working to keep the violent outbursts of Caedus’ starseed from hitting any of them. A pale glow surrounded his hands, and though this seemed to stop the energy from lashing out, it only seemed to agitate the starseed within his grip.

He knew what they were asking, but he couldn’t go back, not now. He shook his head.

This is us adapting,” he said. He was not as composed as he had been earlier, but he still spoke with conviction.

A muscle in his jaw twitched. His brows were heavy. Some of the Vanguard trusted him. Some questioned him. Some defied him.

There were things he didn’t want to say, even now, but so many of the Vanguard seemed to have made choices he hadn’t expected. He had always supported them. He had always done what was best for Velencya, for their people.

He was upset, not because they didn’t agree with him.

It was because some of them thought he would do something so drastic for any other reason than absolute necessity.

Five times their life, and more, he had spent serving Velencya. He had put himself in harm’s way, pushed himself further than any other had, protected Velencya. He had a dream of a world full of life. A world renewed. A world with a Senshi to bring back what was lost and protect them.

Six weeks on Earth had been enough to shatter the faith of his Vanguard.

Six weeks, with strangers. Six weeks, where they were told not to get too close. Where they were told to gather information, to research, and to be prepared for anything.

Six weeks for them to forget that he trained each and every one of them. Six weeks for them to decide that he was wrong.

So, he stopped trying to protect them from the reality of it all.

Velencya is dying.

He said it coldly because the words were bitter on his lips and it hurt to say. This was not a burden he wanted on them. Young, hopeful, optimistic Cadets, here on their first mission. Here, away from home.

Our core is failing.

He did not hide the anguish it brought him, or the desperation in his voice. Caedus’ starseed seemed barely suppressed in his grip and grew more volatile the longer it was exposed to the pulsating energy in the area.

It has been for years. When Caedus came back, I thought we had a chance. When he said there were Senshi, Knights, on Earth, I thought we had a chance. When he said the Negaverse was still here,” he fell quiet. “We had a chance.

His voice was a little stronger, but he was visibly stressed and still reeling from the battle raging around them.

This is not our world,” he reminded. “These are not our people. Our people are waiting for us to come home. Earth will be safe when we leave. I would not subject them to destruction. They will survive and we can help them--after we help ourselves. After we help Caedus. Earth is durable and its people are, too. They will live. This?” he held up the starseed, still protected in its hands. “This needs to be fixed. We don’t have a chance otherwise. We don’t have time to experiment with alternatives. In six weeks, we could find nothing substantial. Nothing even slightly reasonable. You know we looked.

They were there to research everything they could, and he trusted that they had all tried their best and reported everything they found to him.

And yet, they had produced no other option.

If he had been reborn before, he could have been here. Velencya might be safe. We could have had Velenia back. We cannot undo the past. But we must pave the way for our future. Our people need us. And when this is done,” the starseed flickered and pulsed uncomfortably, “I will make amends. I will not leave Earth to suffer.

Maybe, if he’d made it out like he’d wanted to, he wouldn’t be falling apart like this. He stood tall. He kept his head high. Only the shadows on his face betrayed how tightly his lips were pressed to hide the deceitful twitch of emotion. His eyes were wet with moisture that would not fall.

I have made this choice. You don’t have to. I don’t expect you to understand.

He didn’t want them to have to.

We don’t have time to discuss this. We have to go. Earth will be fine.

There was something firm, desperate, in his voice. His plans were unstated but he was resolute in his conviction: “Trust me.

The weapon continues to pulsate mutated, chaotic energy to every order member on the field.

The Chaos spreading across the field is akin to being within Metallia’s presence; members of the Negaverse will feel a second wind, and gain an additional +5 damage to any dice roll in this round for as long as generators are on the field. Order members may feel suddenly without morals or restraint; they may become very violent. They will feel sick as the Chaos begins to seep into their starseed. If an Order player chooses, they may show some (temporary) signs of corruption or youmafication as their body distorts under the Chaos. These changes should only be cosmetic and should be minimal for the time being. Order characters may also be forcibly corrupted, however you must PM The Space Cauldron for side swap approval; if your character completely corrupts, this will be a permanent change for them. Fourth Stage Order characters and those in their immediate vicinity may be immune to these effects; Transcended characters and chibis may also be immune to these effects. These players may choose to be affected or not!

Members of the Vanguard are not affected by this; moving forward, Vanguardians have no limitations to how many squares they can move per round!

If Lyndin isn’t stopped, he leaves with Caedus’ starseed. If the machine isn’t stopped, it will continue to pump Chaos into every Order character. Chaos characters should be protecting the Central Machine and generators and should focus on subduing Order characters, not trying to kill them! If things continue as they are, this machine should forcibly corrupt all of them, anyway…

If you are playing a disposable NPC, you should be preparing to kill them in this post or the next. Please update your NPC RP log as soon as possible. If you are unable to complete 500 words in three roleplays prior to this, and 500 words in this roleplay, your character will lose out on any potential long-term plots. .

Engaging these characters is ill-advised; they are very powerful and seem to only be there to hold the line for the time being. They are indicated on the map with a starseed of accommodating color that also showcases their range.

    The Negaverse has been instructed not to summon youma; they need to maintain organization and youma would clutter the battlefield and the strange energy waves in the area have distorted youma control and Negaverse teleportation. Only PC youma capable of handling complex instructions may be used in this battle. They have been told not to bring starseeds or energy orbs due to the unpredictable nature of the energy in the area.

Jet was also performing murder, but hey, what else was new? It came with the territory. First, join a shady underground organization to seek revenge for a dead relative. Next, attain power and authority as you work your way up the ranks. Then, earn the trust of the Queen. Finally, murder traitors.

Speaking of traitors, they seemed to be popping up all over the place, shoving it in the Queen’s face for… what? Fun? Did they think it was a ******** joke to disobey orders right in front of the ******** Queen?

“Not on my watch, you useless b***h,” Aquamarine seethed.

Jet!” he called, before Jet could get any ideas about going after the Princess again, sending an image of Spacewatch through their mental link. “Next one’s right over here!”

Ashanite had the right idea. Based on what he heard from Jet, Aquamarine didn’t think he’d be relieved to have Ashanite offer backup. At the moment, he couldn’t complain.

Aquamarine struck out at Spacewatch with his rapier. They could take this b***h down together, and then he’d drag her a** over to the Queen himself.

Who the <********> was letting in all of these traitors? Who thought it was a good idea to go around and corrupt so many worthless, disloyal officers?

Laurelite’s Favor was quickly banished to subspace to join the traitor’s starseed. He could see the image of the Eternal Senshi (Spacewatch) through the connection between him and Aquamarine. He could hear the cries of the traitor Ochre’s allies, and knew they would likely be swarming the area momentarily. The generator had already taken noticeable damage, and he would hold Spacewatch accountable for showing her true colors right in front of the Queen.

Anyone available, subdue the Eternal. We’ll let the Queen deal with her later,” Jet shouted out orders to those in the area. Hopefully it would not take more than at least one or two more people to knock her out. He would probably suggest just taking her starseed.

Jet didn’t bother using his weapon to try and attack her, not when Ashanite was already so close. Instead he kicked her hard in the side, adrenaline still surging through his veins from his most recent kill.

“You’re lucky I don’t kill you, too,” he growled, although it was mostly to himself rather than the Senshi he didn’t know and didn’t care about. She was sabotaging the mission and attacking a fellow General.

“Are you okay?” he asked Ashanite, making a point to stand slightly in front of him while he was able to regain his bearings, even offering a slightly bloodied hand in case he needed the extra balance.

Dejanira knew she didn't have much strength left and she had been using it all on fighting nega soliders. She turned her attention away from the nega solider she had been fighting in order to throw a ball of raspberry jam at the genrator. "Raspberry jam blast!" She cried out and threw the magic raspberry jam at the generator. She was pretty sure she would be to weak to fight after this since she had been attacked by nega soliders as soon as she had started looking at the generator in the first place. At least she could use her magic to hopefully help the others. She felt sick from the chaos everywhere but she pushed the feeling down and did her best to focus. Dejanira saw an eternal senshi join the battle and she nodded to them. She turned to see who would attack her next.

Actaea couldn't do much of anything but watch as senshi and nega soldiers alike fell in this battle. She could only hope that they would somehow survive this without all of them becoming corrupted. She wished she had the strength to keep fighting she hated laying on the ground helpless.

Actaea summons a spectral, semi-transparent circle of wheat around one target of her choice, and a spectral scythe begins to slash at the wheat--and the target. The scythe cannot be controlled or wielded and will appear as though it is just trying to reap the wheat. The wheat field has a five foot diameter around the target and will follow them even if they run. target will feel the sensation of being slashed at while the harvest is occuring; the pain will end when the magic fades, though players can choose to take physical damage at their discretion. The target must be within her line of sight, and the magic will last for 30 seconds and can be used 3 times per battle.

Coco didn't want to go back to the generator she was tired of getting hit by waves of magic but she could feel the chaos everywhere and see the senshi struggling. It was her duty as a Mauvian to do whatever she could to help. Otherwise, she would never earn her human form and she would be stuck as a cat for her whole life. She took a deep breath and made her way back to the generator even though she was afraid. She ran in and went at the generator again, she was terrified of Jet and the others nearby but she still went at the generator with her star lazer trying to attack the weak spot again.

Lopezite gripped his sword again, glowering at the newcomer. However dazed he seemed to be, Lopezite wasn’t going to have them wandering around, hitting his generator if he had anything to do about it.

Nix seemed to be affected by the Chaos in the air--maybe he just needed a little bit of the fight knocked out of him so he could embrace it.

He brought down his sword on the Eternal Senshi.

He didn’t want to kill him, just incapacitate him.

Just fix him.

Taking a deep breath, Imbrium stared at the claws on her hand. Stared at the way her uniform was swirling, darkening. Looked at the others around the console- those evil, traitorous, wretched aliens, and slammed her shield into the generator.

Pulled it back, and slammed it again. And again. Kicked at the metal, taking out all her rage, and letting the fury sweep her away. Her uniform twisted around her, her pale skin swirling dark, and still she kept hitting.

Silistra knew she had to get a hold of herself, she felt terrible but she would feel worse if she didn't do anything to help. She wished she was more life her wonder Florence Nightengale. She wished she had healing powers, but she was just a page and didn't have any magic yet. She didn't even have a first aid kit on her that she used in her civilian life. She gripped her lamp tightly. She couldn't let any of that stop her. She had to try to help anyway. She ran for one of the generators and brought her lamp down on the pannel of the gernator.

Lacaille still felt like hell from the chaos going around everywhere but she wasn't ready to give up yet, now that she knew her magic could affect the generators she was throwing another book at the generator she could only hope they could break them all before it was too late. She couldn't stand on the sidelines any longer if she didn't they would all be doomed. Nope, she was ready to fight and she would do whatever she had to do to help everyone get through this. She just hoped getting through this didn't mean escaping the negaverse and finding a princess to fix them all. If that was the case they were all in for a really tough time. She cried out "Do some reading!!" Throwing another book at the generator.

Lacaille throws magical energy books at her enemy. Upon impact, the book disintegrates, making the target feel like they have just read a deeply emotional part of a book that the target has read.

Action: Doing what Gany asked, and helping with the Generators. Kinda.

Her head shook as she tried to keep the chaos clear, and those first few steps she took to move wobbled like those of a baby deer. The shoes were all wrong, her clothes felt strange, and she almost toppled once. But that precious moment was soon to be over.

The Princess banished her Crystal and Titani- no, Saqqara now- blinked blearily at the smaller woman as lights went out all around them. Someone called to the blonde Royal, who turned- and screamed. Titani- Saqqara's- head jerked to see Jet- "<********>." she muttered, and rubbed her hands across her face. Rest in peace, whoever that had been; familiar but different, and her brain felt like it was still being scrambled as waves of Chaos tore against her starseed.

Ganymede had asked for help with the generators, but there was only one thing on the field pumping out Chaos. Would the generators matter, if that darkness kept flowing? She started to follow, but tripped over her own feet, even as her body moved to catch and correct itself- moving into combat with her former comrades was not immediately advisable.

Kicking off her shoes, Saqqara pressed her bare feet into the dirt, grounding herself. Now. She moved south, towards the Console. Moved through the Velencyans, staggering when Chaos pulsed and hit the starseed in her aching chest like a physical blow.

Now she missed the freedom that had come with her former rank- Titanite had felt strong, powerful. Saqqara was... weak. She had chosen this weakness though, and she would see it through. Sand whipped up around her as she approached the generator, and the magic sands whipped into the generator as she attacked it

Strange, how liberating it felt to make the choice, even as she watched darkness try and consume her again, her gauntlets hovering over her hands, the mirage storm around her flickering even as she kept tearing at the metal.

Much to the Senshi's confusions her assault upon the generator, console, or whatever the device was had been largely ineffective. In the time that she had spent attempting to turn it off she had become surrounded almost entirely by White Moon in various degrees of health. Correction, she had become surrounded by White Moon and aliens, though the fact they all happened to be in varying degrees of pain remained appropriate as an assessment.

The sudden spike in activity and the lack of progress she had made in regards to the Console had the advantage of temporarily causing the young woman to hesitate. An opportunity to ponder taken as she turned her gaze away from the strange device and back to all of those who happened to be nearby.

All of those nearby who appeared to be bleeding.

...Some who might be close to being brought to their knees.

And then as the scent of blood touched her nose that feeling deep within her caused her fingertips to twitch and before she could even process the consequences that might come from her actions, her voice rang out from within the crowded area. A pose, a smile and a wink was all it took before her magic began to sweep across the field towards her chosen patients.

A smile towards Morgan.

A wink and a smile towards Imbrium.

It wasn't enough to fix every wound, but it was a start, and until her magic failed her it was safe to assume that the red headed senshi would follow her instincts, and do as her gut commanded. Mend the cuts, get them up... Regardless of whether or not they were the right ones to 'heal'. They were there, she could see them, and so she reacted.

Vela smiled as she burned with the flames of her bonfire "You know what go ahead and take me down!! I'm not going back to the darkness my flame burns too bright for that!! I believe in them all you can't snuff out all the light, another torch will take up the fight even if you take us all down." She grinned and shouted "Dance of embers!!" Using her last attack to attack the generator instead of the chaos forces who had been attacking her. She knew she didn't have much strength left, but what she had she was going to use to try to burn the chaos to the ground.

[Cosmetic fire enhancement. Vela flames flare around her when her emotions are majorly affected.]

Dance of embers

Vela dances around a bonfire bidding the flames to burn higher and higher embers flying into the air. The enemies the embers fall on receive the feeling of small stinging burns. (Lasts 30 sec. ) (Can be used twice per battle) 5 ft range. (Only feels like burning)
