Sigal glanced up to the sky, and tried to figure out what time it was. She thought it was around the middle of the afternoon, getting close to evening.
"I think we still have enough time to get to the Amores tribe before dark, if we hurry," she finally decided.

Aku nods, walking a bit faster to be even with her. "Alright then. At least it's a nice day to be out walking, not too warm, or cool."
As he speaks, the wind picks up just a little bit, blowing a few stray leaves in random swirling patterns.

"I think we should be there soon." Sigal didn't know how her aunt could do it--walk such long distances day after day after day after day....Just walking to the Amores tribe was exhausting.
"Do you have any position you're thinking about taking in a tribe?"

Aku nearly stops walking, giving her a confused look. "Position? I'm not sure what you mean, I'd just like to join a tribe.. but there are positions?"

"Yeah. But you don't have to have one, if you don't want to. But there are positions: gatherers gather food and herbs for the shamans, shamans heal hurt and sick foxes, hunters hunt food, scouts scout out the land, and carers care for the kits. I might try to be a carer. But if that didn't work out, I wouldn't mind just being a plain tribe member, either."
She was a bit startled to find out he didn't know this stuff, but then remembered that he was raised by humans, and so couldn't have found out.
She found herself wondering just what else he didn't know, though.

He nods lightly. "Yeah that could also be possible. I'd like to start as just a member though until I get the hang of it. Haven't really been around all that many foxes yet."
Well that could perhaps be a bit of an understatement. He could only think of two names when he tried to count just how many foxes he'd seen. He wasn't going to turn tail and be chicken though when it came to meeting up with an entire tribe, at least, he keeps telling himself that he won't.

She wasn't all that sure, though. Everyone in Daddy's tribe had a job, so she had no idea what those without jobs could or couldn't do.

Nodding thoughtfully again, he looks ahead once more while they go. "Hm, that could be true but I don't know what I'd be good at anyway." He walks just a little bit ahead before slowing his pace to follow again. "Aa, sorry I shouldn't lead I don't know where we're going."

"Well, you can try lots of different things. And there's nothing wrong with just being a regular member, either." Sigal had been following him instinctively, until he mentioned he didn't know where he was going.
"I think I know where we are...So we need to go this way," Sigal said, turning so they were walking in a slightly different direction. She wasn't positive that was right, though.

Aku nods, following her. "Well, if we get lost we shouldn't be really all that far from someone right? So we could ask for directions, if we see anybody.."

"Maybe...But Aunt Rina says she can go days and days and days without seeing anyone. What if we do get lost?" Sigal was starting to talk herself into a bit of a panic now. She had never been off the Lunarie tribe lands before, and now here she was, out in the world, and not quite certain where she was going. What if she got lost? It would be so easy, because the world was just so big.

Aku frowns a little bit, looking at her. Okay, he hadn't actually thought of that. "Hey, hey relax. I'm sure we'll see someone. If we do get lost, it's okay because there are some landmarks, and when we get to the big field again we'd know which way you came from, right? Or we could start marking our path somehow, tying some plants together or something to have a marker?"

"Yeah, we could do that..." Sigal glanced behind her, and noticed if she looked really closely, she could see their footprints in the ground. So if they had to, they could backtrack. That was good to know.
"What can we mark, though?" They were in the middle of an open field, and so there weren't even trees they could claw marks into.

Aku glances around, pausing. "Well, we could tie some grasses together to mark our path? Or if there s kind of flower that looks bright enugh, put those down?" Okay, so they really didn't have very many options, but beggars can't be choosers.

"Let's do both. In case the flowers get moved by something, or something happens to the grass." Really, she just wanted an excuse to mark their path with the pretty flowers, but knew that it wasn't likely the flowers would stay. So that was why she decided they should tie the grass together, too.
