History: Amadet was born into a pride that worshipped three deities, Mzimu'soka (God of ____), Mtima'safi (Goddess of Souls) and Pepo'ardhi (God of Body). Their primary deity was Mzimu'soka, and the pride valued certain physical traits that resembled those of their god.
Amadet was born to the leaders of the pride, a princess and only littermate to Amoret. From the very beginning, Amadet and Amoret were compared to each other. Amoret had been so fortunate as the aquire all the traits the pride valued: her ears were tipped with spots, one eye was gold and the other blue, her toes were green, her fur scratchy and most of all she had a single feather on her left paw. Amadet, on the other hand, had none of these. She did have a divine symbol on her, but no one ever did make the connection between it and their secondary deity, Mtima'safi.
As they grew older, the value in these differences became more and more evident to Amadet. Amoret was heiress, and got a great deal more attention and respect than her sister. It didn't take very long for Amadet to become very jealous of her sister and angry that she didn't have a single marking that made her more special.
Too concerned with just herself, Amadet was just as surprised as the rest of the pride when Amoret fled, leaving behind the pressure and responsibility that came with who she was and how she looked. Dedicated to the pride (among other things), Amadet was more than willing to take Amoret's place as heir but after having someone like Amoret around, very few pride members were keen on the idea. There had always been conflict regarding whether the spirit or the physical characteristics were more important, and it was at this point that the conflict peaked. Arguing broke out, and the pride broke apart.
Amadet, bitter and furious over the whole ordeal, left without any travelling companions or any desire to stay in or return to her homelands.
