The wail definitely brought Kay's attention over and...Well, crap. The pretty-man's wand finally manifested a baby, eh? Great. Another small tiny thing that leeched attention, made noises, and would likely try and grab at her.

And holy crap that noise hurt her head. Firmly placing her hands over her ears she excused herself from the drow she was talking to and made her way over to the man. At least she hadn't seen him since she dropped him on his rear.

"What IS that thing?" she asked, eyeing the corpse-like baby. Coailiann had no idea what a wendigo was, nor did she really care. Unless it was going to eat her or something.

At least it stopped crying. It was then that she noticed Danny and Vana and turned her attention from the pretty-man, "Hello!"

More cheerful than with Nic, that was for sure.

That's... horrific, Danny thought to herself, stealing a glance at the ashen-skinned Wiko even as the other Guardian was peeking over at Vana. Granted, she hadn't had too much exposure to all of the different ghost-children yet; of those she'd seen come to flesh, though, they'd all seemed so... pretty. Like strangely-crafted dolls, almost. It was largely thanks to such traits, in fact, that she had been able to come to terms with the thought that the child she was going to be raising wasn't quite human.

Danny didn't want to think herself so vain as to suggest she didn't like that there might be some of less aesthetically less pleasing appearences, of course- no more, no doubt, then she wanted to recognize the issues she had in general with the magical children. Still, she found herself suddenly very grateful at how pretty and vibrant a babe Vana had turned out to be.

Watching a very pretty little girl made a comment of wrinkle-nosed distaste, however, Danny was suddenly very aware of how unfair her own thoughts seemed to be. Forcing a small smile in Wiko's direction, as if to try and demonstrate no, nope, I wasn't thinking the same thing, not me, she bent her head down to gaze back on Vana, hoping to avoid a potentially uncomfortable situation if someone might catch her looking at the stranger babe.

A greeting brought her gaze back up, though.

"Oh... ah, hello!" Her smile was much more natural as she took in Kay's appearence. Was this even a ghost-child? She looked so... normal!

Perhaps too intuit to her Guardian's thoughts, Vana's face crossed with a puzzled, unhappy look. Tilting her head over to get a look at the object of Danny's attention, the little forest child blinked her heavy lashes gently, before beginning a polite inquiry of a chirp to the girl there.

Nicolai was fully aware that his little one was not the most gorgeous thing that ever plopped from a wand. Being a vain sonnova in the first place, he was displeased with Wiko's upsetting appearance to say the least. But it didn't help that he felt the eyes of other people on his child, most likely just as frightened by him as he had been in the first place.

His skin wasn't the issue. It was the pinpoint pupils. His reading had shown him that wouldn't go away, but they were still creepy. Not hardly adding to that would be the way the little one was gumming away at his finger, content as all heck just to get slobber all over it.

Formula bottle still in tow, he finally worked his way to the kitchen area, shooting glances over his shoulder at the looky-loos in the room. With some struggle he juggled adding water and keeping a finger in Wiko, surprisingly well, and gave the bottle a moment to warm up before making his way back the way he came.

Again, he snuck a glance at the ferny one. She was just too pretty, and no matter how mortified he was to be there he had to look. Gods he was almost jealous.

He's not... THAT ugly, is he? he wondered to himself, pouting down at Wiko, stopping slowly. He's just like a little Central with mute hair. God he's not too different from... His eyes floated up to catch the drow, then fell back to his wendigo. I mean... the eyes do a lot to damage the look but...

Savius had had his arms full of booze. Two beers for Lithle, one for himself, and he was already wondering if he should have grabbed some of the harder stuff he'd seen waiting in the fridge. Magical booze fridge. Awesome. They needed one of those at home. As it happened, he was leaving the general kitchen area at the same time as Nicolai and the gray child, so he got an eyeful of the both of them.

"Awesome! A zombie zombie brat." He announced, moving closer to get a better look at the child. The winged teen didn't have much of a sense of personal space, so it didn't occur to him that he might be crowding the two of them. "What's he called? You wanna meet my little bro, little bro?" He wiggled his fingers in front of the child. "He's a gryphon, and you should be safe, since you aren't sparkling."

A slight smile was given to the guardian as well. "Beer?"

As the people in the headquarters milled around and mingled, something was definitely not right. The hallways were beginning to lose color, though it wasn't noticeable it was so slow. Only those entering the hallway for the first time after seeing it in it's bright and beautiful glory would be able to tell at the current point in time.

However, doors were beginning to seal into the walls, becoming unopenable, and in the gardens the grass began to ever-so-slowly become a lighter shade of green-grey gradiant.

If one was highly sensitive to magic, the feel and crackle of an unknown type of energy was slowly beginning to permiate the room.

Things were definitely not normal in the headquarters this evening.

Kyo watched the hawk almost absently, not seeming at all worried that the avian could easily dive from her shoulder and peck out one of her toddler's eyes. "Yes, the back. That woman there has... the right idea." Perhaps Shira would touch the knob and then the falconer would see. "Go... ahead."

By her side, Xerksis merely grumbled then turned his attention back, staring intently at the bird. "Do you know what that is... Xerksis?"

"Mmmr... Buh.. broo... bird." The boy managed, scrunching his features slightly as if he'd just been forced to suck on a lemon. He wasn't pleased at all that he was incapable of the mouth-words while his mind shot miles ahead. When the door suddenly pulled open near him with a flurry, he had no problem making a rather inhuman screech. What was that?! Tucked behind Kyo's leg, Xerksis peered out at the mousy woman, taking her in. Maybe if he hadn't been so surprised, he would have laughed. Now he only stared.

"Oh..." Kyo stated softly, a bit late on her reaction as she slowly turned towards the newcomer. Dark eyes flitted over the woman before, much to Xerk's protest, she drifted closer, dismissing the falconer to her own devices at the moment. Bending into a crouch, the English teacher reached out and picked up one of the tomes, only frowning slightly when one heavy silver shackle smacked lightly upon its cover. "There's no need... for apologies. Are you alright?" Another hand reached out, swiftly pressing a book that had began to levitate back onto the floor before picking it up herself. Behind her, Xerksis huffed- he'd only been helping!

Hey! He didn't even respond! Well, fine then. She wouldn't give him the time of day. Maybe she'd go into his room and put toothpaste on his pillow in retaliation or something.

Kay smiled. Oh, that sounded like a very good idea.

But the girl with the plant baby was talking to her now and it was a decent distraction from malicious thoughts.

Wait. Did she just say she looked normal? "I am NOT normal!" Kay's arms crossed firmly over her chest and her green eyes narrowed. Normal meant plain. And Kay didn't like being plain.

It wasn't HER fault that she didn't have any wings or a tail or...or...or dark skin or CREEPY eyes!

"I'm as different as any of them!" Apparently, the short sidhe was displeased and...

The lights, at that particular moment, decided to flicker and throw the room into darkness.

She hadn't done that, had she? Holy craaaaap.

Huh? But... but Danny hadn't said... she'd just thought it, hadn't she? She wouldn't ever say anything like that! Honestly and truly, she'd gone through too much with Vana to act like that!

But she must have said it aloud, or else she wouldn't be getting a tongue-lashing from the little girl. Visibly flinching- Danny wasn't good at this sort of confrontation, no matter the vessel for it- the college girl allowed herself to be scolded as she scrambled to try and find the right words to excuse herself--

Then the lights went out.

".... any of them!" Mimicked Vana expertly, eyes peering around the darkness as she wondered how a few words had managed to make the light go away.

Kyocho

Kyocho's Elvin ears began to twitch, but the guardian just ignored the feeling. But something else began to happen. Oak began to wail loudly. Something seemed odd. Tears began to roll out of his eyes as the small treeling clinged onto the side of his guardian.
"Oak? What's wrong bud?" How the guardian wished he could communicate with his guardian.
Looking around the gardens things seemed to be a bit pale, but Kyocho just rubbed at his eyes and blamed it on his tired eyes.

Oak still wailed and whine. From the fact that a slight sense of things changing around him too quickly shifted something inside his plant mind. A sort of link between the plant kingdom and himself.

Kyocho lifted up his charge and held him closely to his chest.

"Neveah. I don't know what’s wrong with him..." The guardian mumbled in failure.

Edit:
((I have to go to work tonight and won't be home till much later. About 8 hours. So anything happen Enoh. Kyo and Oak are gonna be following Neveah. Ok?))

Dixie hurried down the block, her long-furred tail doing its part in keeping chipper holiday shoppers a suitable distance away. Alek half sat/half lay over his mother's shoulder. Every once and a while, he would let out a shrill barking scream and tap Dixie on the upper part of her back. It was that time again.

"ommmmmm AAAAAAA!"

Every other application of this behavior had earned Alek a "quit it" but little else. This time, however, Dixie stopped in her tracks and pulled the baby's legs so that he was sitting properly in her arms.

"What?!?" she asked.

Alek, unfazed, tugged off his tiny, knitted hat and flung it to the ground.

"AAAAAAAA!" The stupid thing made his extraordinarily itchy head itch more. He wanted none of it.

"Fine." Dixie left the hat on the pavement and was about to continue walking when she looked up. This was the very hellhole she had picked the Tailed Terror up from in the first place. Maybe they would take him back. There appeared to be some sort of party going on, so even if they wouldn't, at least there would be free food.

She pushed inside and nodded to a few people gathered around the door before making her way into... an obscenely large hoarde of people crammed into a room that was tiny by comparison. And then there were no lights. Great.

Z....zombie brat? Pardon?? Someone asking for a punch in the teeth?

Nicolai scowled at the remark just in time to be opening his mouth for a retort when the lights decided they were no longer wishing to be present. Wiko flinched in his arms, only mildly bothered by the sudden darkness, too content to gnash at his finger to be surprised too much.

After a moment of thinking of how much he loathed beer, Nicolai stepped back, doing his best to pull Wiko out of the reach of any other child that may be present and panicking in the area. Heaven forbid someone try to cling to HIS child in the dark and end up losing an eye.

Not to ignore the surge. Oh heavens, no. That damning gkk was unleashed in his mind again for the first time since he wandered into the wand shop. He stopped in his retreat just far enough back from Savius for comfort.

I am SO tired of trouble.

Well, this was... unpleasant.

Listening to the wailing and scuffle and all-around hysteria that seemed to be starting up, Danny took a stronger grip on Vana and got to her feet, not about to be caught sitting among panicked company. "It's just the lights, people, come on!" The irritated growl almost caught her off-guard, but it most certainly expressed her sentiments. A little darkness wasn't worth all the hub-bub, and if Vana started getting upset because of all the noise, Danny was going to be distinctly displeased.

Groping blindly in the shadows, shuffling her way over to where she thought the light switch might be (since no doubt someone had just turned them off), Danny managed instead to find the shoulder of the little girl that had snapped out at her. Giving the shoulder a quick and reassuring pat- who was this girl's guardian, exactly, and would she be able to find them in the darkness?- she simply continued on in her search.

Rouge blinked a few times and looked at her watch. "Crap. I'm going to be late. Tandy said she'd pick me up around now. I'll see you later guys. Enjoy your present Kishi." the woman said, placing the small package on the edge of Kishi's tray and dashing inside.

Once inside of course the woman became a little lost once again. Especially now that the hall she was in didn't look familiar. Wandering down the halls she found her way into a dark room.

"Bah. Well aint that lovely." she grumbled, fumbling in one of her coat's many pockets and finding her lighter. A few flicks allowed her to at least see shapes of people around the room. Someone was trying to flick a light switch but there seemed to have been a power outage. What a time to be glad you took up smoking.

Coailiann wasn't phased much by the dark, thankfully, but she did flinch away when Danny touched her shoulder. It wasn't that she minded being touched, but she had called her NORMAL. What was that woman looking for?

"I'll go turn the lights on," She grumbled, hoping it wasn't her powers that turned them off. She didn't know how to fix it if it was. The sidhe made her way, stumbling over several things quite painfully and bumping her head on the counter before she found the switch she was looking for.

Kay supposed actually living there and knowing where things are was a very good thing. Her hand clicked the switch a few times but nothing happened and Kay scowled.

"Power's out!"

A tremor ran through the headquarters a few moments after Coailiann's announcement that was just barely noticeable. A minute later a larger tremor ran through, knocking a few pictures off the walls, also causing the portal door to the wand shop to slam shut rather loudly.

It wasn't locked and people could move in and out of the headquarters as they pleased - however, those trying to leave would have a hard time making their way to the door in the pitch black.
