flineagle Lithanus Went on dictionary.com for you guys, here is what it says about lust 1. Intense or unrestrained sexual craving. 2. 1. An overwhelming desire or craving: a lust for power. 2. Intense eagerness or enthusiasm: a lust for life. 3. Obsolete. Pleasure; relish. An overwhelming desire, intense eagerness; according to this definition it could be bad or good. I would think you can have an intense eagerness for you signifigant other, even a sexual eagerness at that. It doesn't have to be an overwhelming desire, although it can be. I guess what it all comes down to is just how much do you lust? If it consumes your thoughts and actions and keeps you from God, that is bad; if it is something you are passionate about but doesn't interfere with your relationship with God, than there isn't anything wrong. Now that I think about it, that can be said with the "idols" you are talking about too. I think the dictionary gives a pretty clear view that lust is stronger then desire. In the end the idea is that nothing should take God's place in our lives.

Lithanus It is bound to happen, the meanings of words change every generation or so and so the dictionaries must catch up to the times.

The Samurai wow... that's scary... I dont have any but I see where your going... I get some of those senses sometimes, like when I'm close to God I feel Him there, and when I see things that are wrong, I can feel the presence of the devil... like right now.. he's trying to tempt me with the internet and pornography... in the back of my head... it's weird. that happens to me all the time!~ sad espessially all the pornography pop-ups mad stare

blackshadowiceskate The Samurai wow... that's scary... I dont have any but I see where your going... I get some of those senses sometimes, like when I'm close to God I feel Him there, and when I see things that are wrong, I can feel the presence of the devil... like right now.. he's trying to tempt me with the internet and pornography... in the back of my head... it's weird. that happens to me all the time!~ sad espessially all the pornography pop-ups mad stare

Sometimes people put the survival of said temple over the respect of it. Also, many are lack of the moral fibre that keeps us from doing such things. I myself still have relapses back into the times when I was angry at nothing, and when I downloaded porn like crazy to keep my mind occupied. And I still regret it. The point is, everyone has their vices. Sometimes they deem it neccisarry, sometimes they do it for fun. Hopefully they'll see the light before their day comes.

I think the dangers of porn for a lot of people tho.. from what i've seen is that.. once they start to look at it.. they just can't.. stop... I know my dad was hooked on it.. probably still is.. it's like.. when people are looking at.. or especially watching the little avi's they download from wherever... watching other people just... it snares their mind and body... they get a compulsive need to have more and more... until they can't control their need for more...

I know my dad was hooked on it.. probably still is.. it's like.. when people are looking at.. or especially watching the little avi's they download from wherever... watching other people just... it snares their mind and body... they get a compulsive need to have more and more... until they can't control their need for more...

Hey cool. Someone found a better definition of lust. My dictionary definition of it was pretty pathetic. It didn't even make lust sound bad.

Now, I'm not saying it is right or trying to justfy it, but give the reason for it so we can prevent it from happening.
