Ha, the second day I dressed up the boys kept saying, 'I like your skirt' and stuff like that laughing at me. I shrugged. To be honest, my friend [who I found also liked this fashion, so I may not be the only lolita in our area] turned around and said, 'Would you like to wear it? I'm quite sure she looks ten times better in it than you.'

The best compliment I had was when I walked by a teacher and heard, "WOAH!" I turned around to face her and she said, "I love your dress!"

Surprisingly, amongst the New york city spawned assholes, there's a few teachers who've complimented my blue and purple hair too... I get stares constantly though, regardless of anything I wear. So atleast this way I feel pretty and actually know why they're staring.

I've gotten something almost similar to that.
Since I don't really have Lolita dresses myself, I improvised, and got help from my Grandma's sister-in-law, to help me make a skirt or two, and like, used some crap from my closet.

It was Summer, and was hot, and of course, guys in cars were riding around.
Some guy had the nerve to come up to me, and ask, "How much?"
I was like, Uh, "Prostitution, ftfw? I'm jail bait, lol!" And he looked at me, and was like, "Oh, sorry." And like, drove off, real fast.

It was obsurd, and I felt horrible. D:< That someone would EVEN THINK, A cute little c***k like myself, would be a prostitute. D:

I also had another case like that, except, with a schoolgirl uniform. :<
My friends poked fun, and asked if I was a, "naughty schoolgirl?"
I just kinda glared. And got some strange comments on the walk home. ;-;

I go to an art high school, we ALL dress "weird", but I do get compliments on my clothes, nice compliments.

There's a crazy Japanophile at my school, though, who wears "hot topic lolita" and 'outfits' that don't really match or are lolita at all. She kind of annoys me. I'm pretty sure she only owns that one teeny tiny lacy miniskirt from hot topic and a pair of demonia platforms. And she's ALWAYS complaining about how much they hurt her feet. I just want to yell at her "YOU bought them and YOU wanted them, so deal with the pain or just freaking take them off!! Duh!"

People like that get on my nerves. Like those girls who wear micro skirts and tanktops in the winter and complain about being cold. HMMM... I WONDER WHY.

I don't have any official lolita yet but I plan on making some with the fabric and make-shift patterns I get with the $100 gift card to hancocks I got for Christmas. Anyways, when i wear my lolita-ish clothing to school people either stare, or compliment. My teachers mostly glare though. I don't think they like me. Oh well whatever lets em sleep at night. I just ignore the mean one's and thank the kind ones.

Hmm when i go to school I change my style everyday...
But when I wear lolita-ish things, I get compliments like "cute" and "pretty" and so forth, but not really much though

well, i know in my freshman year a girl i knew wore a lolita outfit and it was very cute but everyone asked her where her feather duster was and it was very dissapointing. but what was very sad was when i complemented her on her lolita dress and she was like "huh? Lolita?" emo another story of mine is when i went to navypier in chicago and wore a lolita dress of mine. i got three compliments total, (on the way there and back) i also had my parasol because it was really sunny ot and a group of college boys looked and commented "What is the world coming to?!?!?" and laughed. and my mom calls me a whore everytime i wear my dresses because most of them only go down to just above the knees. and then my step-dad comments on how i never have money for rent (he's kidding tho) and that i should go stand on my corner... grrr... but it confuses me because at family reunions (when i dress "normal" for once) my mom always says things to my aunt (about her three years olds) about how "She can't dress anyone up like that anymore" and they're dresses are basically a dressed down version of lolita! Now i think it's my turn to say "What is this world coming to?"

If I had any lolita clothes to my name, I'd wear them everyday to school. But alas, I only own some slightly punk-loli accessories ;__;~ when I tend to dress more punk-ish, I mostly told that I resemble Misa (from Deathnote) >___o.

People at my school kinda mind their own buisness, so even if I do get around to dressing up, I don't think they'd come around and b***h to my face about it.

But I usually dress "differently" anyway (or so they say xd ), so everyone around me is pretty used to it. I get compliments every now and then (I had two teachers complimenting my outfit just the other day whee ).

People at my school are terrible, I would never wear a dress their.
It just takes 1 person out of 3,500something to ruin a dress by throwing something on it!
I couldnt handle that! I would start bawling! crying

When I dress lolita the reaction of my schoolmates really depends on the outfit. 3nodding

When I wear my EGA outfits, which are always long-skirted and usually high-collared, people tell me that I look like I belong to some sort of strict religious sect, or that I look like a victorian schoolmistress.

If I'm clad in goth-loli or EGL the reaction I get from people is pretty varied. When I wear knee-length skirts, a lot of people say that they look wierd. Other outfits I'm contstantly complimented on, like an Edwarian-style outfit I have with a super-frilly top and skirt. whee

I seem to get the most compliments when I dress in casual goth-loli. My usual casual goth/punk-loli outfit consists of combat boots, striped black and white tights, a poofy black skirt, a t-shirt with a cute print, and perky pigtails. People always tell me that I look like a doll when I dress like that. heart

Overall, I'm not bothered by whatever negative comments I do get. I'm happy being me, and dressing how I want as opposed to how others want me to dress. It's not fun to have to deal with nasty comments, but in the end it's well worth the reward of being able to show your own style. 3nodding

I have a set of clothes just for school. I save me favorites for other times so they will not get ruined. ^-^

eeeh i get mixed reactions...

everytime i dress up in either EGA or EGL, i get a lot of stares...sometimes snickers. in the morning time when i have to walk through the courtyard and through the lunchroom to my friends i feel as if i'm walking the gauntlet (i think that's what you call it) due to all the people looking at me as if i should be shot -_-v

my friends and a few select people, however, compliment me and make me feel good. they say i'm adorable and stylish ^_^

A friend of mine and I had a Lolita day on a Thursday last year, maybe in December? It was my first Lolita experience, in a known public and it went very well. She had a dress that she had borrowed from a friend who had purchased it, and I wore a black outfit I had put together which I was rather proud of.

Oddly enough that day, a class of middle schoolers had come to tour the school and came into my class just as I was giving a report. I was lucky to have recieved such positive feedback from the little ones and others that day. My math teacher, if I recall correctly, said "So...do you do this often or are you just being you know...."you" today? Cause I know you'd do this kind of thing."

Ever since, we try to cosplay or dress up every other Thursday. It's always windy or freezing on those days unfortunately though. >>
