Pappila turns her head to take in the subject of Rosa's nod, then looking back at the much taller Fey. She doesn't repeat her earlier smile, letting her lips rest in a neutral expression as she studies Rosa carefully yet again. No, no conclusive information can be derived from such examination other than what this woman looks like, smells like from a safe distance, and the fact that she is sitting and talking far too carefully for Pappila's liking. There is nothing 'at ease' about this woman, nothing familiar other than the fact that the name 'Rosa' rings a very faint bell in her mind, as does the title 'Countess'.
Her eyes abandon Rosa's form and switch to Aesculus', Pappila taking a step to the side to be out of his way, as he seems unsteady and she knows for a fact that she is far too young to aid him in any physical fashion. "Be careful," she warns him, speaking as if a much older female sage's soul resides within her small body.

"She is the daughter of the court mage," he replies calmly as he pushes back his black hair so that he can see more clearly. It's ironic he's compared to Johnny Depp, since his hair is about it's length and its style now that it's all done. After pushing himself up off the bed, he stands sturdily, as if he is not weak at all.
It is at this point that the three tiny mice, seeing now that their master has left the bed, decide to dash across the room to their food, scurrying down the silk sheets and covers and over to the saucers. The smallest of the three lags behind the two larger ones, his little legs not moving quite fast enough.

Rosa shook her head at Aesculus, getting annoyed very quickly, "Your almost painful to watch. Alas, in your consideration I am used to the visual pain but you do look incredibly pathetic." She informed Aesculus, her voice growing even more normal as she continued on, only for her to SCREAM a second or two later.
"AESCULUS GET YOUR CURSED LITTLE FIENDS AWAY FROM ME!" SHe yelled, and was within moments standing on the chair, as if all the demons in the world just began to circle her.
Pray tell, Rosa, now who looks pathetic?

Pappila was not prepared for the sudden onset of noise, and nearly leaps out of her skin as a result. Her wings go into a series of fast fluttering as she glares up at the raving lunatic that almost made her drop her precious magical wand, something she values much more over the paniced woman perched on her chair.
Then a flash of gray is spotted at the edge of her perphiral vision, and so she turns quickly to see the three little bundles of fur. She notes that they have ears much like Muris, and this alone is enough to fascinate her. She tucks her wand into her waist band first and foremost, making sure it is secure. Then she kneels down and crawls over to study the three mice with a calm expression from a foot or so away, not getting any closer out of respect for the little things being at their bowls and such.

The two larger mice, the gray and black adults, gnaw on the orange piece and cheese respectively, ignoring the human behind them. Seeing Aesculus around and living with someone who is taking obvious pains to take care of them seems to have made them unafraid of humans... or at least less wary. The runt-sized gray mouse wanders over to Pappila, twitching its nose and whiskers as it stares up at her, reaching up as far as he can with his hind legs with a pink paw.
Aesculus watches the distraction and Rosa but a moment before he comments calmly, "Countess Rosa, they are nowhere near you, nor will they approach you. Please calm yourself." He takes a step towards the door, getting a chair still on his mind. As one leg moves forward, the other bends but then suddenly goes weak, and he stumbles, but grabs onto the bed so that he doesn't fall and nothing dramatic is made out of the scene.

Rosa noted many things in her frantic state - for these were the sorts of things one takes time to notice when in an 'enemies' terrritory. Namely the fact that she wasent going to be getting along with Pappila - more likely, ever, and that plan was waisted.
The fact Aesculus was right, and she had a clear 'get away' route to the door, that would keep her safe from the mice also phased her, and in the end so did Aesculus falling. She twitched a moment, and gave Pappila a glare in return - though she hardly counted on her noting it. "Another one of Filix' friends, I presume. I wish someone could tell me why all the women of this court insist on tomboyish antics, playing with there bugs and filth - disregarding everything our mothers stood for." She ranted, slowly letting some of her toes hit the floor. She slid onto the ground, and then slid against a wall, where she more or less shimmied her way twords the door - avoiding the mice with all possible cost. "Aesculus.. I am saying this ONLY because I am sure you will find a way to claim I wounded you once your paralayzed and completely feeble - LAY DOWN, DON'T BE AN IDIOT... or.. or more of an idiot! Wait, I don't mean that.. I mean.. ugh." She finnaly got to the door, and was breathing considerably faster. "The little runt can have the seat I was sitting in. Goodbye!" She barked, and had hurriedly (though gracefully, of course) moved out of the room, and into the hall beyond.

Pappila doesn't even bother to lift her head to respond to Rosa's words, though a small swell of pity for the larger woman does blossom in her chest. To think that not only does Rosa have to try and mince her way with words, sit just so, act just so, and smell just so, but she is also afraid of something as small as these little creatures before her. 'How sad,' Pappila says in her mind. However, she counters that way of thinking with the rather petty fact that Rosa nearly made her drop her precious wand and the word 'runt' still ringing in her ears, thus not feeling so badly for Rosa anymore.
To the tiny mouse before her, Pappila offers a tentative fingertip for it to sniff as she visually examines it from the tips of its ears to the end of its tail. Her azure eyes glint with purpose, having finally found something to study for a type of information she had yet to acquire. Now she wonders if everything she's read about mice is true, and wishes she could study it more in its natural habitat, which she guesses is...Aesculus' room? She is so captivated by the friendly mouse that she doesn't realize how weak Aesculus really is, or how close he came to toppling over.

Aesculus sighs with relief that Rosa has left and crawls onto the bed, getting under the covers again while Pappila is intrigued by the smallest of the mice. In truth, he was glad that Pappila hadn't seen his moment (or perhaps moments) of weakness. What was really going on with Rosa? All her comments made him thinks that perhaps she was indeed jealous of his appearance, although this was such a hard idea for him to digest, he assured himself that there was probably a deeper-seated reason than just that one shallow-minded explanation. Surely no one could be that materialistic.
The tiny mouse sniffed at Pappila's finger, stretching up as far as he could go before rather ungracefully toppling over, landing with his tail and rear over his head. Scurrying back to standing he returned to studying her as intently as she studied him.

Pappila smiles at the antics of the mouse, though mostly because they give her visual proof of the various functions of his back legs and tail. Her confidence is bolstered by this particular mouse's seemingly curious nature, and so that same finger she had offered for it to smell goes down to attempt to lightly pet the small creature between its perked ears.
'I wonder how thin the flesh of its ears really is?' Pappila wonders to herself, daring an inquiring stroke with her finger, 'Wow, that's just a little thinner than my wings!'
Then she reminds herself that there are other things in the room, namely Aesculus, and that she was letting herself get carried away again. One last petting motion for the little mouse and Pappila straightens to scan near her for Aesculus, noting him having returned to his bed. Pappila gets up and wanders over to stand by the edge of Aesculus' bed, looking up at the edge of his covers carefully. She's never seen a sick individual before, not even one of her butterflies has caught ill or even died since her freeing from her curse, so she is both curious and mildly concerned.
Of course, being short is a problem when you want to be able to see exactly what is going on, so she really has no option but to climb up as she does her own large bed. Her wings flutter in a vain attempt to add to her speed and balance as the toddler makes her way up a wooden beam on the opposite side from Aesculus, finding footholds with her tiny bare feet. Finally she reaches her goal and flops onto the top of the bed on her stomach, letting herself have a short rest, eyes closed as she focuses on her breathing for the moment.

The little mouse watches her go, not having shyed away from the touch, and then scurries to the food bowl as quickly as he had hustled across the room not that much earlier. Aesculus's attention now turns towards the little girl that has just scaled his bed, and he studies her laying there for a moment quietly.
"I don't want to make you sick, so I wouldn't get closer, but you may stay here as long as you like." His voice is warm and inviting, despite the hoarse and crackling nature of it from his parched and sore throat.

Azure eyes open slowly, blinking twice as the smaller Fey takes in the much closer presence of the teenage one. Well, at least he seems a lot closer now, with her looking up at him from between his blanket covered ankles at the foot of the bed. She decides that this angle is rather demeaning, so she scrambles up into a sitting position. There, much better.
"Why sick?" she asks in classic toddler fashion, both hands tugging her wand out from her waist band in order to make sure it is alright. Her climb and fall, even if the latter had a fluffy ending, could have hurt her lovely trinket...no, it seems fine. Satisfied, she rests her treasure on her lap and places both hands over it, tilting her head as she waits for Aesculus' reply.

"I... well, I suppose I pushed myself too hard... and the strain on my body from growing... it was too much for my body to take." He smiles warmly at her again, finding her much better company than Rosa and immeasurably better than being alone.
"Who takes care of you? My Kithain's name is Syrenrei."

Pappila crawls forward a bit more, so she can take in the details of this Fey better. She sits down again, now about a foot or so closer than before, wings flitting open and then closing again as she replies politely, "Eirnae my Kithain."
Of course she has to follow that up with another question, her curiousity fueled by both her inquiring mind as well as her youth, "Why push?"

"Because I wish to learn enough to become a good aide for our king. I am sure as a future mage you are also afflicted with this unsatiable desire for knowledge." He smiles, although he watches her critically. Aesculus doesn't want her drawing too close for fear he'll make her sick. Shifting a bit under the covers, he tries to make sure she has apt room... even if it's a large bed and it is, after all, his.
"Eirnae... I think that's one of the guardians of the Fa'e... Shina, right? I believe my Kithain knows her. There are a few here now that have Fa'e and Fey..."

Pappila only scoots closer, with the persistance and determination of a youth trying to get all of the details of the person before her without having the one she is examining escaping her scrutiny. "Kno..kno... Learning fun!" she accknowledges, with a nod for further confirmation.
She sits down yet again, her wings resuming their fluttering behind her as she studies Aesculus' eyes. She find the golden yellow color pleasant, though she finds such rather odd because her room is mostly silver and blue.
"Shina," she answers to his inquiry, nodding again. She has not met her Kithain's Fa'e, but she certainly has heard a lot about her.
