With the hypnosis machine now debris, the rest was now a mop up exercise it felt like. Though it did look like a few of the Snagems were still loopy and was probably needed a head smack or two just to snap them out of it, or for the effects to wear out. The more I thought about it though, I ended up getting cold chills in this heated cavern, the feeling of being violated in such a manner by that Dim bulb admin afflicting all manner of emotions to bend those to her will. Ugh…already been through a worst case of that already once in my life and honestly? I’m a little surprised that this didn’t press the proverbial berserk button, but honestly? Especially after seeing Crystal near unrestraining clocking the admin, I could only feel pity as to the depths of how…just…pathetic she is.

With the bellowing of ‘Well, now’ to the Snagems only got me prompted to ask “Now what?” rather deadpan as more adversaries started to come out of whatever rocks they were hiding under. Or…more accurately, hiding as. I needed an eye brow to raise as they all started to come forth off the walls, and I was left a little bemused. I didn’t sense any of them…they were just humans here. Humans with special suits. No pressure that made it seem like they were hybrids of any kind or channelers. I took a glance over towards Blake Hall, a older man that was…definitely not dressed to be here. Let alone to be in a fight. And he apparently knew who we are and yet, still tries to give an ultimatum to the likes of us…well, as much as he could before Darts and Ogerpon starts having their way with the Dim Sun grunts within arms reach. I couldn’t help but to gasp out a laugh a bit, because I couldn’t believe what was transpiring right now. I’m honestly not complaining, heaven forbid anything to get as bad as Lysandre or Ein, but holy crap. This is…actually comical.

“Well I guess that answers that much…” I said.

“Hey, Blizzard! So…should I help out in that or…?” Freth called from the entrance.

“Nah, I think we got this. Though just let me know if any of these guys start slipping through the cracks bothering you. We still need that door open just in case. There’s no telling the kind of damage they done here and I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be here when this place goes.” I said.

“Fair enough.”

“Honestly, I’m surprised they have the collective pair to actually try this.” Eris spoke up to Freth. “I have heard of a lot of various different teams that have cropped up in realities and I honestly have to say…I didn’t think there was a competition out for the dumbest one.”

“Seriously…” Freth replied.

As Freth continued to hurry up with the exit, I started to look back towards the other Dim Sun grunts that were slowly approaching me. I sighed, quickly making a count of all who was trying to approach me. “So, how’s each of your health care plans?” As soon as one made their move, in one fluid motion, that one took an elbow from me that smashed into his face, taking him well off his feet and sending him at least a few feet away from me. Other grunts had to move to the side lest they end up a sudden cushion for their comrade. He landed on the ground, flailing on the ground, clasping at his face, yelling out in pain. “Apparently, it’s pretty freakin’ great.”

One after another, in very short order, they all tried to run at me and take their shot. And as I non-chalantly stepped off to the side, weaved, and ducked, I had to admit…these guys…were just…not doing it. I suppose this is what happens when you do train like hell for the next strongest threat. It did…unfortunately make me realize that in spite of their overwhelming odds they were still trying to fight the likes of us. Me especially, someone who’s reputation is no secret. There really was no end to the fights, was there? If they were compelled to fight for whatever reason, they were going to fight and that was the end of that story, odds be darned. Its weird being on the opposite end of that sort of thing, isn’t it? Boy, my mood suddenly soured…

My half-waxing philosophicals, half-fighting mindset was derailed until I started to realize that in this whole wave of grunts were Pokémon as well that was getting in the brawl. I had to back off a second to take out a Pokeball of my own to help out here. “Okay then…you’re up! Go!” I shouted, tossing a Pokeball out. The ball bursts open and there stood a tall, proud, fiery Pokémon from my arsenal. The time in Paldea was a bit rough, but fruitful. The Torchic that I started off with in that trip through victory road was a centerpiece of the entourage I took on that trip, so much so that I made him the de-facto captain of the squad at the time because of his level head and all-rounder prowess on the battlefield. Something that carried over into when it evolved into Combusken and then eventually the proud Blaziken that appeared before the opposition. This would be his first major mission, now that I think of it. Lets see if he can handle it.

“BRAA-ZA!” Blaziken roared out, wrists igniting ablaze.

“Alright Blaziken, we got to clear house, follow my lead in.” I said.

“BRA!” We both moved in and as I started to plow through the other grunts, Blaziken started to get to work on the Pokémon alongside them. Blaziken would start giving his own Fiery punches and Blazing kicks to the Pokémon that made their way to us. At one point, a Machoke would manage to slam right into Blaziken, but didn’t knock him off his feet. The two would quickly clash, locking hands pushing against each other in a hard test of strength.

I would quickly look back at Blaziken preoccupied then back at someone I had at me, smashing my fist into the grunt’s gut. “Blaziken! Alley-oop!”

Blaziken quickly looked back then shifted his weight, while keeping locked to the Machoke. “TA!” The Pokémon shouted, rolling onto his back, catching the Machoke by surprise by putting his own momentum against him, and kicked him off, releasing at the last second, tossing the Machoke into the grunt that I had, and one more that was close behind him.

“Nice work!”

“WA-TA!” Blaziken shouted, as he hopped back to his feet.

As we continued to wedge a path in Dim Sun’s apparent forces, namely to try to get after Blake Hall, Freth was still trying to get the door open. She managed to pull boulder after boulder out from the entrance that was tightly packed, if not borderline fused, into the wall with her psychic prowess. Though as she got closer to everyone’s salvation, she started to notice that there were ones that were starting to come after her. There were those that were in fact coming through the proverbial cracks. Even with as many Snagems and Pokémon in this blitz, there was still apparently a thing about sheer numbers. She would end up having to stop focusing on the wall for a second to defend herself, blocking a shot here, weaving around another, floated about, mindful of all who decided to pick the fight with her. “Oh, pick off the straggler, is that it?” she asked.

Freth’s wings lit up furiously, as did the onyx feathers about her eyes, she then fired a hard sweep of a neon violet blast of Freezing Glare towards her assailants which locked them in place. With them temporarily frozen, she quickly dashed with Agility, one after another, striking each psychically locked opponent. Each one, in spite of taking a fierce, crushing blow, didn’t move, still as if frozen in time. She would skid to a stop close by to look back at her locked victims then gave a hard sigh, her wings finally dimming out as did her onyx feathers. Her attackers then suddenly flew like missiles right into the rock barricade, only for them all to unceremoniously flop to the ground after making impact with the rock barricade.

“Brutal. Creative. Unfortunately, not any closer to opening that rock wall.” Eris said.

“A woman had to try.” Freth said.

Aile would put her left hand onto the walls, checking and assisting with Deo’s search. It wasn’t too hard with the pair of them working together, which was a pleasant change. Definitely better than their interaction from when they entered Porto Marinada. She would raise her eyebrows when Deo shouted, though, a bit concerned that he was being lord with their finding. Unfortunately, she was right to be worried, as a giant Dusknoir would phase through the wall at the same time a Machamp would pin Deo to the wall. “Dammit…” Her attention would flip to the one who started talking, rolling her eyes. She’d seen nobles with attitudes that reminded her of this man before, and she found them insufferable, too. When Hall finally called for the grunts to attack, Aile grunted, not wanting their target to get away after putting in the work to find it. “Deo, I’m going to leave the Machamp to you! Kayvaan, let’s go!” The back frog nodded, jumping onto the wall and following that way, blending back in with Camouflage.

As soon as the pair got a few steps out, they would wind up in the thick of things, making it harder to keep sight of their target. Quite quickly, a Hydro Pump would come from the ninja frog, who broke stealth to give them a path through. “Nice, Kay.” While they ran, with Aile occasionally dancing around grunts that tried to get in her way, she’d point to the floating Ghost Pokemon, then make a slashing motion. Nodding, the Greninja would jump up, land on an incoming grunt, then start bounding off, continuing to use various grunts as landing pads, at least until he got close enough to send out a blade of dark energy towards the Dusknoir. He’d be more than happy to play the distraction right now.

Aile, once Kayvaan had broken off from her, decided to bring out another Pokeball, this time bringing out her alpha Nincada. He’d quickly settle in on her shoulder when she motioned, beginning to discuss a plan with the bug. “Poggle. When we get close to our target, you’re going to take off, okay,” she asked, weaving in a way that caused two of the Dim Sun grunts to crash into each other. “If you get an opportunity, steal the gem in his hand. I’ll be trying for it as well, in case he dodges you. However, I’m more hoping he pays me more attention, honestly. Ready?” The cicada nodded, clambering down to rest on his trainer’s arm. The woman would continue to dip, duck, and dodge through the grunts, with an occasional groin shot or knee to the face, when she finally found a moment. “Pogs!” With a fling of Aile’s arm, Poggle would take off, screeching as he flew for Blake. Hall., doing his best to annoy the man and go for the gem. Aile game the tiniest shake of her head, not intending for this to be how it went, but dove in anyways, looking for an opportune time to grab the gem herself if the Nincada wasn’t successful, darting over and reaching out with her left hand to grab it.

Crystal was very nearly about to continue the beatdown of Lavana when Blake interrupted it, starting to monologue and berate his admin. Seriously. Was he trying to do the stereotypical thing of a villain? Whatever. All she wanted to do right now was continue to teach Lavana a lesson. She was about to step forward then something bright red was getting closer in the corner of her eye…

Leaning back instead, Crystal would narrowly avoid a Flamethrower to the face, rather annoyed that she was blocked from getting back to her target. She turned her head to see what decided to attempt to melt her, finding a grunt with an Arcanine standing a ways back. “We’re not going to let you attack one of the Sinis trio any further. Arcanine!” The large canine took an attacking stance as it was called in, standing in front of its… commander? Tamer? She wasn’t sure of the terminology here, just that this jerk off decided to get in her way. Her gaze went back to Lavana, noting that she was getting carried off... Two of her, even. Huh. Whatever, she’d figure it out later. If she could get back to Lavana, that is.

The hybrid’s head would swivel back to the grunt and his Arcanine, now pissed that she lost her chance to take out her frustration even more on the woman who (in her mind) humiliated her. So, this guy and his giant mutt was going to have to do instead. The hybrid contemplated sending out a Pokémon, but…. She still had plenty of anger to vent, and a mere Pokémon battle wasn’t going to do. The grunt would looked confused as Crystal started removing her outer layer of clothes, tossing them aside. “I’d rather them get dirty than have my sentimental clothes get burnt by your mutt there,” she rescinded, oddly calmly. Once her backpack was on top of her shawl and skirt, Crystal would roll her head and crack her knuckles, confusing the pair even more.

“W-Wait… You’re not about to- Is that even allowed!?” The guy was freaking out as Crystal began to charge them, the Solgaleo hybrid coming in to slug the Arcanine in its jaw. The hound got thrown back, allowing Crystal to come in to also punch the grunt in the gut and send him flying. In the time it took for Crystal to dust her hands, though, the Arcanine would shake itself back up and growl at the hybrid that decided she was gonna choose to throw hands instead of throw a Pokéball.

“You still want some? Come on then. Bring it, I can still fight!” Crystal would charge forward again to take another punch at the Arcanine, who would fight back with a burning thrash when she was nearby, a Raging Fury. Crystal winced as she brought up her arms to guard her face. When an opening presented itself in the middle of the burning rampage, she would headbutt Arcanine, causing the hound to take a few steps back before coming back with more flames and thrashing. Once again, she’d guard her face as the Arcanine went back on the attack, waiting for another opening to strike again. Her nails would begin to glow pink and elongate slightly with psychic energy as she waited, getting in a slash with her own version of Psychic Fangs. This time, though, the amount of strength she was throwing into the slash left her guard down, allowing the canine to slam into her and bite down on her arm hard. Roaring in pain, she would begin to punch Arcanine until it wound up releasing her, both of them staggering back and Crystal holding her arm. “Light burn me…” Glancing down to see a few small streams of blue-black sparkling blood (or at least what acted as her blood), she realized that her skin might have gotten weaker in strength from the ambient heat and the flames from Arcanine. Maaaaybe getting into a fight with a fire type wasn’t the best idea she had. Regardless, she was here now, and probably needed to wrap this up soon. The both of them were panting, and Arcanine was acting like it was a bit sluggish as well. And possibly injured. With that in mind, she looked down to see her Snag Machine still on her hand, so she’d run to her backpack and pull out a Great Ball, charging it with the machine as a just in case, and threw the orb hard at the Pokemon. This one would hit Arcanine on its side and drag it in, wobbling once… twice… three times before clicking shut. She’d walk up and pick up the orb, getting a stare from the grunt she sent flying, apparently recovered from his small flight. “What?”

“You… you seriously fought a Pokemon. What the hell? What kind of… of-” He would get cut off as Crystal came in and punched him again, this time in the face. “Ow!”

“I couldn’t really care what I fight at this point. It’s probably not the first time I’ve done that, especially when I roamed around without any Pokemon for a long while.” Walking back over to her stuff and picking it all up, she made a mental note that it didn’t feel like she put in as much strength as she did with Lavana’s punch. The fight probably wore her out more than she’d like to admit. More than she was going to admit, as she shoved her outer clothes into her backpack before clipping that back around her chest. She was still going to make as much of a show of strength as she could, though, refusing to show anything people could interpret as weakness.

Ulla returned Comfey to it's Pokeball as she felt a sudden presence in the area she didn't recognize before. They were lurking in the shadows as her Hisuian Zorura felt the presence as well and hid in her bag. "We're surrounded..." she said under her breath as she backed up into her Togekiss to cover their angles. The sight of Dim Sun grunts appear out of thin air gave the Fairy jidders. She hasn't felt this way in so long, was it the adrenaline of being backed in the corner? Or was it the idea of being able to have a real battle after so long that excited her? Ulla listened to Sub and located where Lykas was. "Simple walk in the park...hopefully." She said as a huge brawl broke out.

Togekiss quickly tossed Ulla in the air as he caught her on his back as they flew with great speed through the grunts to get to Lykas. Before she can lay her hands on the ice, magical leafs stopped her as they exploded on impact with the ice. She looked where it came from as she merely sighed. "Of course...my first battle back. It had to be this." She said as the Hisuian Zorura popped it's head out to see what Pokemon it was. It was a Roselia. At first, there was no reaction from the small pup. But then anger filled it eyes, as it leaped out of the bag and took a fighting stance. One look at those roses on Roselia, it brought back memories of Leon. Leaving it behind. "Zorura hold on we can't fight right now, we have to get Lykas-" Zorura ignored Ulla's words, as it went on the attack and sent a massive Shadow Ball at Roselia. It was a sloppy first attack as it was filled with blind emotion, so Roselia quickly maneuvered around it and sent a hail of Magical Leafs as it connected.

Zorura skidded backwards as it brushed it off and ran right at the Roselia, but this time with a more direct Shadow Ball which connected. "Zorura stop it! You need to listen to me!" She shouted but then noticed the frozen Lykas. "Oh no!" The ice was starting to melt due to the explosion of the magical leaf that connected earlier. If she didn't do something quick, Zorura could loose the fight. And Lykas would break free from the ice. "Togekiss watch Zorura. If I'm not out of it in a minute, pull me out of it." Togekiss nodded as Ulla connected with Lykas.

A pink silhouette of Ulla would appear in Lykas's subconscious. Alright, Sub warned me about you being loving naturally.... She said as she looked at Lykas's self-conscious. What she saw was a mere image of Lykas but this heart-shaped lock was much bigger than the previous two. She tried to unlock it like previously, but this time was prooving more difficult. Why...? Is it because they are almost too far gone? She thought as she started to blast the lock with fairy energy to loosen the gears. As she was, she felt the connection with Togekiss start to nudge. As if her time was starting to run out. "Come on, come on, come on!" She said as she hear a loud clunk. But not from the lock, from the ice. It was starting to fall apart. Lykassss....Help me out here! We need you to wake up! She said as she started to feel the chill of the ice in the real world. Ulla had no choice but to be a little bit harsher this time around. The Fairy Child made a makeshift lock pick as she fiddled around until she finally heard a click. The giant heart shape lock fell.

Back in the real world, Ulla gasped for air as she looked at Lykas as ice slowly was melting away. She looked around frantically as Togekiss and Zorura weren't by her side anymore. All around her was nothing but chaos, she was surprised she wasn't attacked in such a vulnerable state. "Tama?! Zorura?! Call out!" She shouted as she ran around different battles. As she was going around, she noticed Hisuian Zorura on the ground. The little fairy child ran to him and cradled him in her arms. "You're injured..." She said as she noticed Tama now fighting the Roselia. For its small stature it did know its's way around battle. "Tama! Dazzling Gleam!" She shouted as Tama started sparkling as the sparkles came off of its body and was sent flying right at the Roselia.

Hisuian Zorua winced in pain as he watched Togekiss and Ulla battle together in perfect unison. It was like watching the two dance gracefully. So much was happening around them as numerous random attack form other battles were sent flying in different directions. A random sludge bomb was sent directly at Tama, Ulla notice it first as she made a barrier right above Tama as the Sludge Bomb splattered everywhere else. Roselia took this chance as it used Vine Whip. Vines started wrapping around Togekiss making it immobile. So much chaos was happening all at once. Ulla not only had to keep watch of the battle, but also all the other Snagems. "We have to finish this quick! Aura Sphere!" Tama understood as he charged an Aura Sphere in its mouth and shot it at Roselia directly. It was sent flying and knocked unconscious. Ulla sighed of relief and ran to Tama and started tearing off the vines. Once free, Ulla looked at Zorura who was injured in her arm. "Zorura. Are you okay?" Zorura starred at Ulla for a long time as it held back tears. He recognized that he was lashing out. "Its okay to be upset. We'll work out everything together. Just next time, don't do anything reckless okay?" She said as she started tending to their wounds.

Once finished, Ulla and her team looked around to see if anyone was severely injured. There was so much happening, but one thing was for sure. They needed that gem back.

"Sorry, they were promised a snack exploding with flavor," Cera quipped as the grunt tried to chase it down. Up to now, she'd thought the team was a lot more serious, more of a threat with a name like Dim Sun and what she saw from a distance. So far, being in the thick of it proper had shown her the only one that wasn't totally putting the "dim" in their name was Lavana, though she was at least right about the danger they presented. In the meantime, Kiri was trying to do what she could in regards to getting some semblance of a way out re-established.

Amaranth, on the other hand, had stopped herself for a moment when she saw Lavana fumble around and, after a blink and the hardest sigh she could muster, shook her head to force out the phantom pain she imagined from keeping a Pokeball there of all places. "Come on now, those're probably crying after keeping your Pokeballs there!" She protested, lowering the hammer to wave an arm out of disbelief. The reaction kept her still long enough for Infernape to both come out and approach, but she was quick to move her free hand back to the hammer handle, ready to try and send Infernape away with what was best described as a golf swing. She'd start at an upward swing before being thrown off by Kangaskhan's kid being tossed over like a rugby ball, practically throwing herself backwards to avoid swinging directly into them. The child, clearly too young to understand the danger they were in, was giggling all the while, positively thrilled at their newfound flight.

But for all the fun the kid was having, the hypnosis gripping Kangaskhan couldn't break through parental instincts and concerns. A surprised grunt came when she realized where her kid was going and the "kid" she claimed was trying to climb out too. A gentle arm would move to push Leslie back in as she ran full tilt at Infernape, fully intent on shoulder tackling them out of the way if it meant ensuring no harm came to the kid before bringing the both of them over like she planned on. That, or also introducing them to the safety of her pouch, but space was a bit cramped with Leslie in there. Amaranth would wisely keep her distance as Kangaskhan barreled through, noting the machine she had planned to rush at was suddenly a lot icier and more compact. "So much for that... um. Are you fine in there, or...?" She asked, unsure if Leslie was under the hypnosis herself or not.

"Okay, still need to snap them out of this..." Cera said to herself, grateful for the mental tugging to cease with the Gigaremo- she finally had a name to attach to them- being destroyed. Before she could take another step, her mind would cry out as a a lot more bodies seemingly blinked in, overwhelming her as she looked around. "Wha- when'd they...!? Their numbers shouldn't have been this big already!" Evidently, this was news to the Mew and all the recon she'd managed leading up to today, from the numbers to the suits they were wearing. Her attention turned towards the smooth, almost snake-like talker that was Blake Hall, glaring as he kept on. Hexcleon... she wasn't familiar with the name, it hadn't come up yet. "...Ebonite suits," she remarked, the only conclusion she could reach concerning her inability to sense them before.

She wasn't terribly intent on surrendering, but she wasn't sure how to work a way out of this one when there could be even more waiting in the wings. But then Darts spoke up before Blake could finish gloating about how he'd cornered Team Snagem like a bunch of Rattata, taking a sigh before letting her panicked expression give way to a determined glare. "What he said. If anyone's trapped here, it's you with us! Everyone, get them!" She called out, sending her Pichu out for the sake of having something on the field now that Kiri would find herself well-entrenched in newfound enemies to contend with. That, and without the machine, there was less worry about (new) hypnotic problems arising.

"Right! Forge, Kindle!" Amaranth gave a nod as she sent out her Fletchinder and Flareon, opting to have someone more suited for the volcanic environment and give Gale more time to hopefully get over the hypnosis. "We'll keep the winds rising! Come on!" Their first target would be that Infernape, aiming for a multi-pronged attack between air, ground and hammer. Provided the Kangaskhan hadn't already taken care of that one, anyway.

---
Cera and her Pichu would come up fast on one of the new (to them) grunts, this one far smarter than the one she dealt with before. A Houndoom came in front to snarl at them and was fully intent on fighting, or at least keep them busy for long enough to let the grunt with his foot on a Forretress do his thing.

"Er!..." She'd stop in her tracks at once, backing up a step at the Houndoom and bracing herself for them lashing out. Pichu, quickly overwhelmed by this, would already be hiding behind the transformed Mew's leg.

"That's right, you stay right there or you and your rat gets roasted like the steak I'm having tonight! And don't you try anything funny with that gear of yours either, or the whole place goes up!"

"Crap... alright. Just one quick question. You're good at catching things, right?"

"You throw it, I catch it. And then Forretress goes boom."

"Right..." She'd slowly pick Pichu up, giving a brief pet before readying herself to toss the small Pokemon. "Pichu, Nuzzle!" With a quick toss, she'd send Pichu straight at Forretress for an intense hugging session and a few friendly jolts to force some paralysis in. Though the grunt was ready to just kick Forretress over, the move would force him off balance and rethink the move, forcing Houndoom's paw and rushing over to attack Cera with Fire Fang.

"Actually... you. I need you." Barely getting out of the way in time, Cera would ready the Capture Styler again to force its disc around Houndoom while they were left open. "I can offer a better proposition than whatever you're thinking right now." Though the loops and her words did seem to convey something, they'd release a cloud of Smog to obstruct her vision and force the disc back. Quickly moving an arm to avoid breathing in too much of the poisonous cloud, she'd be quick to try again. "Please. I just need you to deal with that Forretress."

She'd manage a few more loops as the paralysis failed to fully stop the Forretress' rolling, or the glowing they started doing as an Explosion became more imminent by the second. Pichu, to her credit, was holding on for dear life, hoping she wasn't about to be crushed in the process. "...uh. I can offer you the grunt's steak?"

At once, Houndoom would stop as their eyes lit up, the continued loops of the disc further making Cera's words get through as they looked to the grunt and stepped towards him.

"What!? No you don't, that's mine. Not that mutt's!"

"Now, Houndoom, what do you think about that? He's depriving you of food. But if you just take care of that Forretress with a Flamethrower, I'll make sure you get a good treat."

Quickly yanking Pichu back to her arms with Psychic, she'd look at Houndoom for a moment to see what might come next. They'd look at Cera again for a moment, then the grunt... and then rear their head up after recalling he'd just called them a mutt. Not only would the grunt's potential steak be replaced by toasted buns, the Forretress would learn what it was like to be extra crispy, the fiery stream immediately overwhelming their defenses before they could finish going off.

"Good boy. Er, girl. Er, which one has the longer horns again...? Here, come wth me, I'll make good on my word after we get out of here," she spoke up, taking a Great Ball and putting it through her Snag Machine before tapping Houndoom with it. "This'll just let me keep you safe if I need to." There wouldn't be much resistance to the ball, but it wouldn't take long before Cera resumed fighting.

[Currently on Los Reina del Sol... (why)]

Sol didn't move the blade from Tsuki's neck even as Reno attempted to defend his... library's honor? "...¿Qué?" All that had been accomplished was confusion, unless there were some secret biblioteca de amor Lavana hadn't informed him about. Regardless, Reno would be largely ignored, offering Harleen a chance to connect to his mind. With it came the discovery that the flames of passion burned just as brightly inside as they did outside, even as "inside" happened to be outside itself. Outdoors, that is, in an arguably Paldean town with the same sort of housing commonly seen throughout the region. Nearby would be a tall structure with several murals all around it, being much more warped than the rest by comparison as images of Lavana had taken them over.

Whatever might constitute as Sol within the mental realm wasn't readily available, to potential dismay as the very real, very physical one... did have to admit Lavana would've wanted a fair fight. He'd be caught off guard before he could respond and fall with the Light Screen platform's sudden disappearance, the grip on his sword faltering alongside an utterance of "Cerdo deshonesto" and the decision that perhaps Tsuki no longer deserved any semblance of honor if he was willing to stoop to such tactics. With that conundrum solved, he'd move to get Arcoiris back in hand and got a face full of heat-induced light for it instead, pausing his grab for a few precious seconds.

Despite shielding his eyes, Tsuki and Reno might hear the crackle of plasma in the air, Sol readying a Thunderbolt as a backup plan to get his footing back on this war of love.

As Ulla entered Lykas heart, she would find the scenery a bit… different than the others she had freed so far. All around the hybrid’s inner form, she would see a raging ocean. Endlessly long, serpentine bodies writhed beneath the surface of the water, churning it into a foamy mess that crashed against the shore of the tiny island she’d found Lykas locked up on in massive waves as Lavana’s machine sent its hypnotic message into his mind. The moment Ulla unlocked his heart through her brute force method, the sea began to calm, the bodies beneath the surface slowly descending back into the depths.

As Ulla returned to her physical body and witnessed the heat of the volcano melting the icy shell that encased the hybrid, she might also notice that the shell was quickly becoming just that. The heat had already melted the ice at the soles of his feet and Lykas was using Acid Armor to flow out of the frozen prison he’d been trapped in for Lavana’s safety. As his liquid form took it’s normal shape once again, there were bubbles forming within it as the rage that boiled within him showed itself. Fully reforming, Lykas’ lilac eyes were ringed with deep black lines as his Hex charged to its maximum potential. “You Twisted b***h!” Lykas screamed his rage into the volcano, his liquid form becoming solid only a moment before the exclamation. He missed Blake. Hall and his villain monologue thanks to being frozen but what he saw now was a veritable army of Dim Sun grunts and plenty of bodies to release his rage upon. Love and lust alike were equally sacred to the hybrid and Lavana hadn’t just disrespected those things. She had walked in with mud on her feet, wiped that mud all over the welcome mat and then threw her filthy shoes on the bed as far as he was concerned and for that transgression, she had to pay.

Looking around for Lavana, Lykas would whip his tentacles around himself, knocking over half a dozen grunts that had decided to charge after him before spotting the woman in the distance, bloodied and bruised from Crystal’s punch he had failed to witness. For the briefest of moments, he wondered if that was enough. Almost faster than the thought entered his mind, he dismissed it. Not even close. He began to march toward where he could see Lavana being carted away with several grunts, picking up steam as he went. With each step, a new grunt attempted to bar his path. Each one of them was met with a seemingly fatal glare that caused those black lines around his eyes to flare up in an explosion of Ghost energy as he unleashed a fully-empowered Hex upon them. Each one met with this glare would find some deep truths ripped from the depths of their very soul and their mind bombarded with them with such ferocity they fell to the ground, twitching but otherwise practically catatonic. One. Two. Three. Four.

“You can stop anytime.” Lykas warned them as a fifth approached. This one was different. The strange armor they were wearing seemed to mitigate the effect of his attack so the grunt winced, hard, but remained conscious.

“You can’t beat me that easily!” They exclaimed, pointing toward him.

“Then try this!” Lykas screamed back, releasing a full-power Water Spout from his bindi. Thankfully the grunt was nearly at point blank range because the stream of water that erupted knocked them to the ground, sliding several yards and likely with a few broken ribs, cutting into the stone of the volcanic cavern where it hit like a water laser. Another three grunts ducked or dove out of the path of the attack as Lykas swept his gaze across the waves of peons in front of him. Those who failed to dodge it were, thankfully, all wearing similar armor to the first one hit and were spared from being vivisected by the cutting force of the hybrid’s attack but were similarly knocked to the ground and sent sliding by several yards. This was a hybrid fueled by rage and refusing to hold back. Going back on the hunt for Lavana, he could now see two of her. He was sure one was a distraction but the question was which was meant to distract whom?

Pausing for a moment to look closer, he would see the one with the bruises hiding her damaged face as she was guided away by minions while the other with the seemingly unblemished appearance was doing… something other than running away. He couldn’t tell exactly what she was was doing from where he currently stood but whatever that was, he felt certain she was the distraction and at this moment, he refused to let himself focus on her for long enough to lose the other one. Returning to the slow-but-rapidly-speeding-up march toward the bruised Lavana, he called out. “Chinami! Get over here!”

His Hisuian Samurott quickly hopped over to him, though she had to admit she was just a bit scared of his behavior at the moment. She’d never seen him fight like this before and it was, admittedly, a bit scary. “Sam samusam rott?” She asked as she placed a paw on her dark flamberge’s handle.

“Keep the big one off me if he tries to get in the way.” He instructed, pointing to Blake. Hall. Something about that man felt obnoxious. He wasn’t sure if it was just the self important attitude grating on him as the man barked orders at his horde of minions or if he’d just absorbed the man’s aura through that prison of ice enough to know he didn’t like him but he could tell letting him get in the way would be unpleasant for someone. Chinami nodded, barking out in understanding as she took up a defensive position between Lykas and Blake. Hall, paw ready to draw her blade as she watched his every movement.

Lykas resumed his march at that point, ripping orbs of energy from two more grunts with Giga Drain as they attempted to pincer attack him with clubs of lava rock. Both fell to the ground as Lykas caught the orbs in his hands and absorbed them, dropping their clubs in strangely unlucky ways that resulted in both receiving head trauma from the crash landing. Another four bum rushed him as the previous two fell and found themself wound up in his tentacles as they flashed bright red and tightened to the extreme with a Power Whip that left them all barely capable of breathing between the pressure and the heat of the volcano. Dropping all four grunts into a barely-conscious pile, Lykas trudged ever onward in his quest to ruin Lavana.

“Stop that blue b*****d!” Someone shouted from behind him, prompting him to turn just in time to see Chinami step forward and slam her shell sword’s flat side into someone’s face, sending them sprawling on the ground with a broken and bloodied nose. Their order did appear to have gotten through to whoever they were talking to, though, as he found himself suddenly assailed by a shower of shining feathers. As the Feather Dance began to pile up on him, a glittering golden sphere formed around him, catching the feathers from all sides and preventing them from touching his body. With a gentle push of his energy, the feathers flew away from him, making a Combee-line straight back toward their source as his Magic Coat shielded him. Watching where they went, he found a very confused Altaria flying down from a high point in the cave, trying its best to shake off its own Feather Dance and failing miserably as the glowing feathers caught in its fluffy down-like wings and refused to be dislodged.

Taking the opportunity while it was trying to free itself, Altaria unleashed a Mist, releasing the ice cold vapor from the depths of its cottony down into the volcanic cavern. So charged with energy was the vapor that even the volcanic heat couldn’t dispel it right away, causing some of the nearby lava floes to cool enough that a bit of new rock formed on their edges in places, though it was still glowing from the retained heat. Lykas shrugged, then smirked, taking a deep breath as he exhaled an Icy Wind upon the Dragon-type, using its own frigid Mist to help fuel the Ice-type attack. Altaria was caught up in the wind but used it’s Cotton Guard to fluff up its downy wings, producing an insulation that kept it safe from the cold. A moment later, it opened its beak and exhaled it’s own breath attack at Lykas, emerald colored flames crackling with draconic lightning erupted from the Humming Pokemon’s maw, aiming to engulf the Jellicent hybrid. Lykas stood his ground as the Dragon Breath closed in on him, crossing his arms and hiding his face behind them as the draconic flames passed over him.

“That. HURT!” He yelled at the Altaria as a jet-black arrow fired from his bindi. He intended to Split his Pain with the cloud-bird-dragon and as the arrow closed in, Altaria missed in amongst the drifting Mist it had summoned. The arrow pierced the Humming Pokemon despite its Cotton Guard and the Dragon-type let out a trilling cry of pain as Lykas halved the pain he had felt from that last attack, dumping the half he used as fuel directly into the Altaria’s body.

Altaria breathed heavily for a moment after that, gathering its wits before deciding it needed something bigger and stronger. Gathering up its emotional energy, the Dragon forged it into solid sphere of pink energy that quickly grew in size until it almost seemed to be a small satellite in it’s own right. Hurling the massive Moonblast at Lykas with a shift of its still-huge wings, it shed the fluff as the pink orb closed the distance to Lykas. The hybrid shifted his body into water via Acid Armor and tried his best to avoid the attack but it was simply too large to fully evade it in such close range. Despite his best attempt, he was struck and even in his watery form, the attack pummeled him with Fairy energy. Shifting back to physical form after the Moonblast, Lykas found Altaria nod standing and waiting for him, as it had been doing thus far but rather, glowing with crimson energy as it prepared to deal him what it perceived to be a fatal blow.

“Altaaaaaaaaria!” The bird dragon cried out as it unleashed its Sky Attack, swooping down from near the cavern’s ceiling as the crimson aura forged itself into a massive bird-shaped shell around it.

“Not today!” Lykas remanded, throwing both his hands forward with bright blue, almost watery, flames erupting from both palms to meet Altaria face-to-fist as he clenched them shut around the flames and held onto the Will-o-Wisps as he caught Altaria’s head-on-charge with his flame-wreathed fists at the sockets of its wings. Altaria cried out once again as it continued to press the attack, pushing Lykas back even as it received awful burns on both of its wings. The hybrid huffed and puffed as Altaria’s attack came to a stop at last, the Dragon-type’s pride refusing to give in to his defense. Each huff released a small Icy Wind upon the bird at point-blank range. Each puff was accompanied by a brief barrage of Hex and its ghostly energy.

Altaria’s cries for mercy soon quieted as it faded into unconsciousness. Lykas’s rage had quelled a bit by this point and he dug into his back, pulling out a Moon Ball, holding it in his Snag Machine-clad hand and charging it to be safe. “I can’t hate you… You have a beautifully resilient spirit.” He admired the Pokemon. “Not to mention, those feathers are probably gorgeous with all the soot washed out.” He told it as he reached out and gave it a tap with the Moon Ball.

“Taaaa.” Altaria moaned as Lykas tapped it with the Moon Ball. The Humming Pokemon was drawn inside in a shower of sparkling silver stars and golden light. The ball shook in his hand once… twice…thrice. And clicked. Altaria was his now, whether it had been owned previously or not.

Turning back to the horde of Dim Sun peons, he found Lavana had been lost in the chaos while he was busy dealing with Altaria. So instead, he turned his focus back to Blake. Hall standing up there and gesticulating all over the cave as he directed his army of minions. Or was trying to. It looked like Darts was trying to pummel him first and foremost at this point. Good. That said, what could he do to help from here? Picking up a piece of lava rock laying at his feet, he looked for something of Blake’s he could trade for. Upon spotting something that looked like it would cause a bit of their own chaos, far helpful than what Blake. Hall had brought, he decided it was time for a little hybrid Trick, charging the lava rock with energy before using that energy to connect to his chosen item and swapping the two through the empty space between them in an instant. Hopefully that would give Darts the edge he needed to give that pompous jerk a proper pounding.

Clare could only watch as Ulla set Lykas free, both mentally and physically, it seemed like. They were a bit shocked that the attempt to freeze him had worked in the first place but they also weren’t about to complain. It had given the team a moment to breath, at least. Sadly, that moment was occupied by Blake. Freaking. Hall. Whoever that was. The way he kept punctuating his name with that pause in the middle was annoying. Clare recalled Gruntilda as Blake and his not-so-small army of brand-new minions quite literally crawled out of the walls all around them, taking a few steps back as they tried to consider exactly what they could do to help in this situation. They only had so many Pokemon and none of them were fully evolved so they were unlikely to be strong enough to survive a battle of this scale unharmed. Choosing a Ball buried in their bag, seemingly at random, they threw it out in front of them and released the Pokemon within to find Eidolon the Pincurchin sitting before them. The rocky floor around them surged with electrical energy as the Sea Urchin Pokemon’s ability laid an Electric Terrain effect upon materializing. “Oh, you’re probably not the best choice right now…” The Nihilego hybrid realized, covering their mouth. Then again… “Can you use Discharge?!” They asked in a hurry.

Eidolon nodded and as his spikes began to charge, their tips began to shine with electrical energy. Before the attack could be released, however, a Rhyhorn stomped into the area, drawing all of the electrical energy into its horn and grounding it out. The result? No damage to anything in the area. A moment later, the Spikes Pokemon Bulldozed the battlefield, stomping its way across the volcanic ground and flattening much of the loose stone back into the soft rock. Along the way, it managed to kick up enough loose earth and stone to smack Eidolon in the face with it.

“Try using Bubblebeam!” Clare called out, knowing their little urchin was too slow to escape from Rhyhorn. Their only real option was either KO it quickly or recall Eidolon and swap him for someone else to battle here. Might at well try the KO route first, if possible! Eidolon nodded once more and as the Sea Urchin Pokemon began to blow a stream of pressurized bubbles toward Rhyhorn, a Cacnea stormed into the arena and soaked up the bubbles. It’s Water Absorb soaked up the water bubbles and soothed the Cacnea’s raging hate for the volcanic heat. Cacnea retorted with an Energy Ball, firing off a small bullet of Grass energy at high speed toward Eidolon. The Sea Urchin Pokemon was unable to escape given the speed of the attack, struck hard in the face and sent carening backward by the explosion as the impact released the contained energy.

“Oh no!” Clare exclaimed, recalling the Electric-type before he’d finished rocking, certain that he had been knocked out by the attack. After spending many months under the influence of the Shadow Virus and seeing practically no real battle during that time, he was their least-trained partner out of recent captures. “Oh… Let’s try…Echo!” Clare exclaimed as they released the next of their Pokemon. The Snubbull they’d caught at Blueberry Academy’s summer safari contest materialized with a gruff bark. Giving a quick scan of the Fairy Pokemon with their SNAG’s Pokedex function, they quickly refreshed their memory of what moves he knew. “Try using Fire Fang on that Cacnea!” They requested of the Fairy-type. The canine barked in understanding and quickly ran forward, attempting to close the distance between them and sink a set of flaming fangs into the cactus. The Cacnea released a burst of cottony spores directly into Echo’s face. The Fire Fang met the spores and the cloud exploded as the flames rapidly spread through it. Echo was thrown backward by the blast, skidding to a stop as he sunk his paws into the volcanic floor. Cacnea was thrown back much farther, slamming into the wall behind it and sliding down to the floor, shaking a bit as it stood up, preparing to return to the fight.

Cacnea held its arms out like turrets and the spikes on its hands glowed sickeningly green for a moment as it used Pin Missile. Four missiles fired off from the cactus’ limbs and Clare saw their chance. “Take the hit and use Payback!” They directed. Snubbull resisted Bug-type moves and they’d trigger his ability so this might give them the boost needed to win this! Echo nodded and braced himself as the Pin Missile came at him, practically shaking in fear as the attack approached. The closer the missiles got, the more violently the Fairy-type vibrated. As the hits connected at last, after what felt like hours of waiting for the fearful pup, he was more than a little Rattled by it. Taking Clare’s directions after the third hit and unable to contain himself anymore, Echo dashed toward Cacnea with his little forepaws infused with Dark-type energy and slammed them into the cactus with a one-two punch that knocked it out.

Rhyhorn, seeing this, kicked at the ground a few times and charged straight at Echo with a Horn Attack while he was distracted. The very moment Cacnea was knocked away from him, Echo was mowed down by the charging rhinoceros, left unconscious by the pure weight and brute force he was hit with, unable to brace himself against it in the slightest. “Rhy. Horn!” The Spikes Pokemon cheered for itself as Clare recalled Echo to his Ball. “Oh no… Who else can deal with this?” Taking a brief moment to think about which of their Pokemon they’d brought along, they remembered one in particular that should be able to help here.

“Mirage! Use Seed Bomb!” The Capsakid had gotten much stronger and was much better in battle after a year of Ms. Dendra’s Battle Classes so they were almost certain she could handle this. The small Grass-type appeared from her Ball and quickly pooled the needed energy into a dense orb which she hurled at Rhyhorn. The dual-type was still celebrating its win against Echo when the attack hit it from behind. The explosion of Grass-type energy inundated the dual-type, overwhelming it after the last two Pokemon it had helped battle but it held on, somehow. Turning, it rushed at Mirage with its horn glowing sickeningly green with Megahorn.

“Use Sandstorm!” Clare called out. The Capsakid nodded and threw its tiny hands forward, sending a horizontal whorl of sand flying into Rhyhorn’s face. The speed of the attack propelled her back and away from the charging rhino while simultaneously blinding it for a brief moment. The result was a safe Spicy Pepper Pokemon and a Rhyhorn crashing into the wall. “Now, Razor Leaf!” Mirage whipped her head around in response, sending sharp leaves flying at Rhyhorn. As the leaves struck, Rhyhorn collapsed against the wall, finally losing the last of its stamina.

“Let’s go!” Clare exclaimed, calling Mirage back to their side. As the Capsakid hopped onto their shoulder, Clare turned back toward Blake. Hall. “If anyone get too close, hit them with a Bullet Seed.” They directed before beginning to run toward him at last, pausing for a moment as Claydol appeared, delivering an odd-looking vial of some sort of elixir of some sort from a Snagem they didn't recognize the name off right away. But the note with it claimed it would help with the heat so they quaffed it quickly, finding a delicately sweet flavor accompanied by the cooling feeling of mint washing over their entire body. "Goodness! I didn't realize how much I needed that relief!" They told themself as the sweat that had been collecting on their forehead rapidly slowed down, allowing them to feel far more prepared for what was coming next. Stuffing the phial into their bag, they started toward Blake once again, this time not stopping as Mirage took potshots at any grunts who got too near along the way.

Aria would have a few seconds as her attempt at echolocation generated a response. A lot of responses. A lot of very distinctly human-shaped responses. Unfortunately, she would have no chance to warn the others about their oncoming new friends before their apparent leader just....stomped out and announced himself. And while the surprise of the ambush certainly provided them some air of menace for a moment, that illusion began to dissolve for Aria as she hopped onto her Noivern's back and managed to get a view of the gathered Dim Sun members. After all of the encounters with the mutants and hybrids of Cipher, the Shadow Pokemon, and the Ultra Beasts, it was almost quaint to see a group of regular people posturing up to them like they had names and backstories that mattered. And when Darts immediately interrupted the man's big speech by immediately cutting him off and laying out some of the grunts, Aria could only respond with a mildly beleaguered sigh. She had wanted to see what else this Blake Hall would say before getting his dream of being the superior in this encounter shattered. They already had his name and a whole company to look at for the stealth suits, maybe he would have accidentally dropped a home address to show how superior he was by how big his house was.

Rolling with the direction this all was going, Aria would gesture Vibrato to take off and would immediately send the both of them into the air alongside a very confused cloud of Zubat. Correction, a cloud of very confused and very blown away Zubat as Aria's Noivern immediately took advantage of the small pause from Darts jumping the gun and lobbed a Boomburst into the core of the cloud of bats. Examining the area once again, Aria could see any other fliers that had been brought along by Team Dim Bulb were taking a minute to catch up due to not looking like they would be local wildlife. Well, this was certainly a time to add to their troubles reaching the fight and giving the other Snagems a little boost. "Vibrato! Tailwind! Lets get everyone moving at their best!" Aria called out. The Noivern was quick to respond, once again beating his wings to get the winds moving but this time to create a bolstering wind instead of a destructive windstorm.

Looking over to Blake Hall again, she couldn't resist getting in some cutting words. "Hey! Blake! Hall! How witty was it to jump out AFTER your most effective tactic had already started failing!?" Aria shouted, sticking her tongue out at the sleazy snake oil salesman that seemed to have decided he was the big fish here.

Down on the ground, Beau had been busy returning his Snorunt to her Pokeball as everyone decided to dramatically start shouting about everything that was going on. He did not need to stand out too much, especially since he was still worried about how an accidental Powder release might end up affecting the volcano. Well, he had been worried about before Darts sent a man flying with a haymaker so strong that there was a dust cloud in the poor grunt's shape left behind. Let alone the absolute rampage that immediately followed that instigating action. Beginning to feel a wind building up behind him as he looked over the gathered crowd, Beau would spread his wings out wide and let the Tailwind carry him into the sky as he gave a relieved sigh. At least he wouldn't be solely to blame if the cave decided to try and collapse on them now.

Cracking his neck as he allowed the winds to flip him into a position to glide and look over the gathered grunts, Beau would give his wrist a quick rotation before a stream of Powder began to release itself into the air above the grunts and directly in the flight path of a few Staravia. Laughing as he could see a few of them coughing and having to blink the powder out of their eyes already, Beau couldn't resist a taunt. "Sorry to irritate you all like that! Let me make sure we get along like a house on fire!" Cracking open a Pokeball, he would immediately be joined in midair by his Fletchinder. And upon hearing the word fire, Red Baron responded in the way he knew his trainer wanted. An Ember attack would impact the last trail of Powder that Beau had just finished releasing.

It was like a string of firecrackers, the trail of Powder that had been spread across the skies and ground by Beau's swoop past beginning to pop and explode sporadically down the trail towards the unfortunate victims of the crop dusting. The closest Pokemon and grunts wouldn't have much chance to react as they suddenly became engulfed in the chain of explosions, but it would give a few of the victims that had managed to recover from the initial application time to either dive for cover or attempt to steer a Pokemon to try and deter the explosions. But even that response was exactly what Beau had been wanting, it making sure that their attention was on the explosions and not on the entire rest of the team that was rapidly decimating their number.

Having once again been shoved into the depths of the Kanghaskhan's pouch as she began her headlong charge, Leslie could at least feel some amount of satisfaction that it was going in the exact direction she had wanted the thing to go. Sure, she was still stuck for the ride but who was she to argue with a maternal figure? Clenching her grip on the Mawile Maul, she would make sure the weapon wouldn't throw the Kanghaskhan off-balance for the shoulder charge. Reeling a little from the impact and her own efforts to not ruin the attack, Leslie would soon snap back to full reality as Amaranth directed a question to the very babied hybrid. Taking a moment to think, Leslie would say, "I wasn't fine for the steps required to put me into this pouch, but I'm fine for the rest of this. That hypnosis thing apparently does a little magic on Hybrids too. I....I think I'm just gonna ride out this fight here for right now. It feels a little cruel to beat up a Kanghaskhan for just wanting to parent."

However, her own opinion on what to do with the Kanghaskhan certainly didn't preclude her doing something else from her current position. Raising her hammer and pointing it towards Blake Hall, she would watch as the hammer began to glow a steely grey. Rearing back with the weapon, she would let out a roar as the Mawile mouth that pointed towards Blake Hall opened like a flower to show wicked teeth and a brightly glowing ball of Steel energy at the back of this mouth's 'throat'. "Best idea ever, Reno! Flash Cannon!" She cried, squeezing a pressure trigger on the handle. As she did so, the built up energy would shudder before erupting in a solid beam that raced towards the Dusknoir that still sat nearby the arrogant man on his plinth.

Leslie had spent a long time trying to figure out how exactly she could try and do a ranged attack. She had never had any talent with releasing energy in any sort of attack, but she knew she could gather it up and move it where she wanted without any issue. It was how she had been so adept with Iron Defense and able to turn it into an offensive skill. But she kept trying to force it, building up energy in her limbs and attempting to make it fire off in some fashion through whatever attacks she had managed to determine that a Tinkaton would be able to actually learn. And when firing from limbs had resulted in nothing, she had tried to use her hammer as a place to build up the energy and that had blown up at least a few hammers due to the energy reaching a critical mass and not being released in any way. Which is when Reno had brought up the idea of instead of her triggering the attack by her own will, he could make a chamber in the head of the hammer for the energy to gather inside and rig a small trigger to disrupt the containment to direct a blast.

While this still had taken a few passes to make work, Reno's idea found purchase as the new mechanism to allow Leslie to unleash a Flash Cannon. The fact it looked ripped straight out of a mecha show and was cool as hell helped with selling the whole thing as well.

Watching as Tsuki made the offer for a fair fight and immediately executed an underhanded move, Reno would let a breath out through his teeth. Okay, the panic could be blamed for not fully recognizing that playing into the delusion might have been a more effective plan instead of simply making a token gesture towards it before attempting to undercut it. It certainly didn't help their situation at all to know how they had reached this point, but it was what would keep Reno from immediately braining Tsuki after this fight was over for this half-baked thinking. Immediately beating feet to charge towards Sol, Reno would screw his eyes shut as he saw Tsuki moving to slam his hands on the ground. He had no idea what exactly his channeling could do, but a large amount of heat mixed with the ground typically resulted in blowing up the ground and creating a lot of shrapnel. He was not going to be losing yet another part of himself, especially not to something as comparatively lame as minor debris.

With his eyes shut, he was able to focus even more directly on Sol's mind. And finally recognized what exactly he was looking at with all the murals and the open-air town. This was Alfornada and...apparently the murals were subbing in for Sol's memories. Wow, did they really look tacky with that Lavana chick dominating them so audaciously, especially compared to how minimalist the actual mural designs were. Looking down to his hands, it would take only a moment of focus before a can of spray paint manifested itself in this mental world. Giving a grin, he would go over to the nearest mural and immediately set to work, attempting to cover the image of Lavana and return it to whatever its original state had been. And, provided he wasn't interrupted, he would proceed with repeating the process on each of the murals as this was his best idea at the moment for fixing Sol's head.

Letting his mental self continue on his work, Reno would open his eyes again as the flare-up of light began to die down. While it wasn't exactly what he had been expecting to be charging towards, a flash of light certainly wasn't a poor choice to distract. Hearing the crackle and feeling the static in his left arm as the Thunderbolt began to ready itself in Sol's hand, Reno would grimace but continue to charge forward. Giving a small leap towards the hybrid, Reno shouted, "Viva la Alfornada!" as he threw a haymaker with his left arm at Sol. His very metallic, very conductive, metal prosthetic arm. Hoping that the Thunderbolt would be directed into the limb and leave an opening for Tsuki to take advantage of. Or maybe Sol would realize that firing off an electrical attack when a highly conductive material was about to be connected to you was a poor idea and stop the attack for the moment?

Hey, he could have a foolish dream. He was currently trying to organize an attack on two fronts and had be really choosy with where he could direct greater focus.

Absinthe looked over the sea of grunts and brainwashed Pokemon, a chill crawling up the teen's spine. This... this was a lot of dudes. Snagems were already starting to thin the horde, but there was still a lot going on. "Hey, Cake," Abby spoke up, a tiny hint of fear shining through her normally arrogant voice. "If you got any anger left, we sure could use it." When a response didn't come, Abby turned to look at Keiko, and sure enough, the Lopunny hybrid was doubled over. Magmortar's burn didn't go deep into her body, but it went wide, covering wide swaths of her flesh. To make matters worse, the heat inside this volcano was intensifying both the pain and the strength-inhibiting properties of the burn. Keiko was effectively out of commission, but she wasn't unconscious. Abby noticed a metallic object in Keiko's hand before her attention was torn from the hybrid.

Two men started approaching Keiko, and Abby instinctually side-stepped to put herself between the men and the wounded rabbit woman. She felt some hesitation as the men approached, but then forcefully swallowed that down and glared at them hatefully. "You picked the wrong Deathrage to mess with today," she growled. Before any Pokemon could be let out of their balls, however, a strong gust of wind knocked the two Dim Sun grunts quite literally off of their feet, sending them flying back. The culprit of the gust was a beautiful female Talonflame, upon which sat a lone male rider: me.

When I got Keiko's message, I made sure Indie could take care of both Yuna and Serena, had Rala teleport me to the Pokecenter closest to Keiko, and had Sparrow fly me to my wife as fast as her wings could take us. I was a tiny bit early, but that was of no real consequence. I hopped off Sparrow's back, recalled her, and pulled a large first-aid kit out of my duffle. "You got any experience with using this on a person?" I asked Absinthe, knowing that most people really only knew how to take care of Pokemon. Whatever Asinthe was feeling when I arrived, it was quickly replaced with arrogance, as was the want of Chaos's daughter. "Pfft. Shut up, NERD! Go patch up your girl. I'm built for the front lines, anyway," she scoffed before walking away. I knew that was about as much as I could expect from a Deathrage, so didn't bother responding and focused on using the medkit on Keiko to relieve her burn.

Abby only took a few steps away from me before letting out two pokemon - her Blaziken and her Machamp. The temptation to have Angeal meet his sister was present, but now was absolutely not the time, so I ignored it. Abby pointed at the guys I blew away as they were beginning to approach again, and Palladia rushed them, throwing fists while they desperately tried to get their Pokemon out to protect themselves. She then pointed to the largest group of Dim Sun enemies - humans and Pokemon alike - while makikng sure she's pointing as far away from other Snagems as possible to prevent them from feeling anything more than an increase in temperature. The last thing she wanted was friendly fire. "Let's wash this trash away with a sea of fire. Use Blast Burn."

Angela hesitated for a second. Her trainer had never asked her to attack humans before. But her trainer's friends did seem to be pretty severely outmatched, and Angela has seen what how her trainer responds to disobedience, so she charged her body with as much Fire-type energy as she could muster - which wasn't difficult in the slightest thanks to the heat this volcanic cavern was producing - and forced it out of her body with all of her strength, letting loose an extra thicc horizontal pillar of fire that would wash across the cavern and over people and Pokemon alike. She aimed as far away as she could from her trainer's friends, though, as instructed.

(Friendly fire should be impossible unless Snagems actively try to jump into the fire, but Abby is actively trying to kill Dim Sun grunts (i.e. humans) with a Pokemon move so I apologize for the edge.)

Sub would be distracted away from his original plan to help out with Sol when this bushy eyebrows having mustachioed man made his appearance, the newcomer immediately beginning to monologue and gloat as his lackeys surrounded them. In the moment Sub could do little else than scoff and went to say something however Darts, among others, beat him to the punch. The Snagem leader just hung back in that moment, arms folded and leaning to one side, and let his teammates handle the verbal responses. However banter would soon turn into physical clashes as the inside of the volcano turned out into an all out brawl. The Dark One letting out a heavy sigh in that moment. "Some things never change." He shrugged as a couple of grunts come rushing towards him.

The man appeared to not be planning on moving as they and their Pokemon came for him, only for a certain Spiritomb to appear from his shadow, coil around him and then 'swallow' the Dark One whole and disappear into the very same shadow it came out of. The two Pokemon that were attempting a pincer move on him, a Purgly and Raticate, the two slamming into each other head first, their attacks cut short.

Sub would reappear a ways away from the general fray, having came from Duc's shadow, the Alolan Grimer busily munching away at the remains of the Gigaremo unit. "...you have strange tastes, Duc." Sub said to the sentient sludge, Griswold cackling in agreement as he too watched Duc chow down. While focused on Duc a Dim Sun grunt attempted a surprise attack on Sub as a Koffing came swooping in with a Tackle, Sub picking up on its in time as he smell the pungent scent of Koffing quickly approaching thanks to his experience in raising one himself. "Duc! Swallow!" Sub said as he spun around and pointed at the Koffing.

Duc wouldn't miss a beat as it glanced up and spotted the incoming Koffing, the Alolan Grimer launching itself off the ground, its mouth opening wider and wider as it sailed through the air. The Koffing had enough time to see the Alolan Grimer coming but not enough time to stop or change course, it was too late. Duc would come down on the Koffing with its mouth stretched out wide and swallowed the entire Koffing whole, Duc hitting the ground with the Koffing flailing around inside of it. The grunt that owned the Koffing ran up on the scene just in time to see the Pokemon get eaten and looked on in horror.

"I-it ate it!? You people really are monsters!" The grunt shouted as he pointed an accusing finger at Sub. Sub smiled in response to this comment and turned to face the horrified grunt.

"Monsters? No, this is a monster." He said, taking out a Dusk Ball and slowly extending it out towards the grunt, Griswold cackling all the while. Sub would press the button on the front causing the ball to burst open in a display of shadows, a Hydreigon materializing from the swirling darkness that came from the ball. Now out of his ball once again Valdemar would let out a multi-headed roar as it towered over the grunt menacing, said grunt letting out a frightened scream before falling onto their rear end, scrambled around for footing again, and then turned tail and ran. "No wait, come back, my dragon was hungry too." Sub said with a devilish grin.

With the grunt taken care of and that Koffing made a meal out of Sub turned his focus back on the brawl taking place. As far as he could tell the others had this taken care of, these guys were nothing more than cannon fodder of the lowest quality anyways. The Snagem leader would begin to walk straight into the fray, ignoring all the fight around him, Valdemar and Griswold following close behind while Duc lagged behind a bit, stuffed from its meal and still wanting to pick up stray machine parts. Sub was not interested in these grunts, he had one target in mind. "Blake. Hall." He said to himself as he made his way towards him, amusing himself by repeating his name the same way the Dim Sun leader did.

As he got closer and closer Sub began to focus on the suits some of the Dim Sun members were wearing, they looked very familiar to him. At first he couldn't place why they looked so familiar. He would consider what abilities they had shown thus far, some kind of cloaking technology. Ebonite? No, it didn't feel like that to him, he was very sensitive to Dark energy as it is. Kind of reminded him of the Expansion Suit which could use illusion abilities to appear as someone else but even that didn't feel right. No, it was something else that he was reminded of, something that- "...the Hexagon Brothers." He muttered to himself. That was it, they looked a lot like the suits Ein had made for the Hexagon Brothers all those years ago, the ones that were based on the chi converter technology. He vividly remembered when the brothers used those suits, particularly in Cherrygrove City. He thought those things were long since destroyed after five of the six gave up the villain day job. Where did these guys get this technology? Was it Blusix? He was the only one still holding an axe to sharpen against them. Something smelled like yesterday's Barboach around here and he didn't like it.

Tsuki the Lunar Wind

Newbie Noob

PostPosted: Fri May 02, 2025 9:03 pm

Honor, integrity, honesty? Offering a person a fair fight? These were concepts to Tsuki, things that he was being taught to ignore. If you were faster, stronger, and smarter than your opponent then you had the luxury of winning on your own terms- otherwise you needed to fight dirty. Could he survive a blade to the throat or a Thunderbolt to the nervous system? Probably not. So when the bad guys brainwashed the immortal Solar Beam wielding master swordsman into attacking him? The pretense of a fair fight was never going to be on the table.

Once it was clear that Sol’s eyes had been temporarily flashed by his burst of light, Tsuki turned his backing up into a forward assault by reaching to his belt and sending out the only other Pokemon that he knew he didn’t have to command to do what he needed: his partner Magby. He leapt at the fallen sword and scrambled to pick it up, remembering fully damn well what the Ho-oh hybrid had told him back in Paldea. In the man’s hands, he could use it to supercharge his moves. A concept that did not at all seem appealing. His brought the cutting blade down into a tail guard: blade downwards pointed backwards. Perfect for swiping upwards from an aerial opponent or knocking things upwards.

Tsuki didn’t have time to notice how different Arcoiris felt to wield compared to his own Blaze Amulet or the numerous training swords that Raiden had lent him. How it hummed in synchronicity with his chi in a way that defied typical type affiliations, how it cut through the air like a hot knife on butter. All he really needed to know was that this was a sword that wanted to slash- not pierce. So he held it for that. His eyes focused on Reno closing in from the side with a metallic arc that begged to draw in Sol’s Thunderbolt. He was setting an opening up! Or coming in to redirect the electric attack back at the flying type. Either way that was perfect. Someone to get in close so that they wouldn’t have to risk Sol getting ahold of his artifact and killing them both with it.

“Mags!” Tsuki yelled feeling, for the first time since he initially connected with her during a sparring match with his mentor, a connection that felt as though there was a literal cord connecting the two of them together. He inhaled, held, and spat out a liquid that was as flammable as it was baked in the chi that this volcano bathed itself in. From next to him, Maggie shot out an Ember that caught alight the attack that her partner sent out, before he struck it with Arcoiris and sent the baseball sized fireball straight towards Sol’s gut. He didn’t have to do damage just like he didn’t have to play fair. The electrically charged cyborg limb haymaker would do the trick if they just knocked the air out of him.

Or maybe Sol would cancel the attack and just get decked by a steel fist? Who knew!

MoniqueBrie
Monique hoped she could keep up this charade. Right now, she had people that would fight for her. Failing that, she had a Malamar if she needed to hypnotize them. But she needed people to believe she was the real Lavana. If the fracas cleared, or if they could not be successfully hypnotized into thinking she was Lavana, they might see the real her somewhere else in the cave, battered as she was. Would they take the pretty "Lavana" over the genuine article? And how would Lavana herself react if they did?

The result was immediate confusion, as the Grunts who were attempting to assail the Snagems could have sworn that there had been a diminutive team member here a second ago, but now in their place was a upright and fully in command of her faculties Lavana, commanding two other Grunts with the assertiveness and authority they had come to associate with the passionate member of the Sinis Trio. And there was another Lavana too, trying to plead with the Grunts trying to attack her and claiming she was the real one and there was an impostor over there, if only they would just listen to her.

Opinions seemed divided, Grunt turning on Grunt as each were upset the other were fooled so easily by an obvious charade.

"Didn't you see Lavana get punched by them? You idiot!" A female grunt with her Beedrill buzzing angrily in midair demands, as she spars against a male Dim Sun Grunt, his Rhyhorn easily shrugging off the Twineedle stings.

"Lavana's not going to go down from one punch, are you out of your mind?!" The other Grunt, far more convinced Dim Sun was a major player than many of the Snagems, retorts as his Pokemon struggles to catch the airborne Bug-type. This scene would play out in microcosm all around the Zoroark hybrid, her distraction very effective without much effort on her part.

DeoLux
Deo caught his balance, and his wind, and decided to go fully at this Machamp. “Xavier, time to confuse the machamp” The psyduck nodded in agreement as he then would power up a zen headbutt on the Machamp causing it to reel back and slowly need to regain its balance.

The Machamp is clearly caught off-guard, as Deo bounces away and summons his Psyduck to deliver a pair of Super-Effective attacks on the four-armed Superpower Pokemon. The Fighting-type sniffs, spitting a wad of its own blood onto the ground as it puts its dukes back up. It was rocked by the Duck's efforts, but not wanting to show it. It feints as though winding up a big punch, then swipes one of its other arms in a wide arc across its body, slapping Psyduck down into the ground with a brutal Karate Chop. It takes the measure of Deo, seeming to be impressed by his size and physique, as it walks past his recovering Water-type to square up again with him. Despite being a Styler-controlled Pokemon, it was essentially one you'd find in the wild once the compulsion wore off and it was challenging him to a test of manhood.

The Machamp roars its challenge before charging, grabbing both of Deo's hands and struggling to push the big hybrid back, intending to engage in a contest of strength. Whoever was pushed over first would be the loser, and the big Pokemon didn't intend to go down easily.

Ulla_Hanabi
Once finished, Ulla and her team looked around to see if anyone was severely injured. There was so much happening, but one thing was for sure. They needed that gem back.

Despite the chaos erupting from the front to the back of the caldera, Ulla had the right measure of it if the angry burbles from the volcano below their feet were any indication. Blake. Hall. being in command of this ancient medallion was anything but ideal, as a trio of Snagems en route to try and intercept him were going to find out.

Reno Vantas
Looking over to Blake Hall again, she couldn't resist getting in some cutting words. "Hey! Blake! Hall! How witty was it to jump out AFTER your most effective tactic had already started failing!?" Aria shouted, sticking her tongue out at the sleazy snake oil salesman that seemed to have decided he was the big fish here.
Reno Vantas
Espeon_Commander

The Noivern and Aria’s ascent whipping around the top of the volcanic cave carried her up and above the head of Blake. Hall., the unbothered and non-perspiring leader of Dim Sun flashing a rare cocky grin at the pair as she got her taunt in. “Hah! Blake. Hall. Has seen interlopers much stronger than you squished under Dim Sun’s heel... you were foolish enough to give me the Red Gem. You haven't seen my most effective tactic yet!” He cocks his wrist back, angling and aiming the gem in his palm as he tracks Aria’s movements. It glows brilliantly red, like the magma surrounding them all over the volcano, and unleashes a massive column of a beam, sweeping across the ceiling. While his aim wasn’t great, the sheer size of his attack was going to be more than enough to make up for it, winging the pair in midair as it gouged a large wound into the side of the volcano. “Hahahaha! How do you like that?” Blake. Hall. gloated, his mustache waggling right along with his laughter as he gazed out through his dark sunglasses, flush with his perceived victory (though still not sweating somehow).

He seemed incredibly oblivious to the attempt to take the Gem away from him, but luckily his Dusknoir was more on the ball. As soon as the Greninja gets near enough to launch its Dark-type attack, the ghost moves to intercept it. The slice hits home, and Dusknoir lets out a wail of pain as it does so but it’s not incapacitated by any means. Judging by its bulkiness and relative lack of issue with the attack, something told Aile this was a rather Impish fellow. It tanks the hit, allowing the blade to slice square through its chest on purpose to gain distance on the much faster assailant and let the shorter-reached Gripper Pokemon demonstrate why it got that name. The fingers close around Greninja’s leg and it uses the frog’s momentum against it, spinning in midair briefly before spiking it downwards. It stopped short of just hurling Kayvaan directly into the lava, but it smashes a Brick Break on the way out as a parting gift to give a little extra ‘oomph’ as it Aile’s Pokemon into the dirt.

Unfortunately for it, a Flash Cannon from a Kangaskhan(?) of all things was NOT something it had prepared for, the beam sniping it out of the sky in a nigh mirror image of what had happened to Aria moments ago, the Steel-type attack sending it spinning away out over the lava and into one of the sides of the cave. Despire being awfully tanky, the Ghost had already taken a Dark-type attack mere moments ago, allowing this Flash Cannon to piledrive it into the rocks.

This gave Aile and Poggle a clear line to the Dim Sun leader, and their dual-pronged attempt to snatch the gem might have worked... had he not just demonstrated the potential applications of such an item. “You’re going to need to get up earlier in the morning than that to take this from me!” He scoffed, the Red Gem flashing in his hand again as he made a flicking motion with his arm, like he was swatting a Bug-type. Both Aile and Nincada would be immediately in the path of another beam, this one more of a crescent-arc shaped attack as opposed to a pillar like the one that had just shot Aria out of the air. They were far too close to dodge, so they were going to take the hit. It wasn’t going to be anything fatal, but it was going to sting quite a bit. Not that Blake. Hall. intended on giving them any time, as he cocks his palm back, looking to finish the job with another pillar-beam.

“Goodbye! Tell them in the next life that Blake. Hall. sent you!” But as the confident leader thrust his hand forward to deliver a finishing blow to Aile and her Pokemon, all of a sudden he was holding nothing more than an ordinary piece of volcanic rock. Which, as you can imagine, doesn’t shoot any beams. “What?!” He shouts, a little bead of sweat dribbling out from his hairline for the first time, tilting his glasses downwards to look at the useless bit of pumice clutched in his fingers. “What kind of sorcery is this?!”

Requiem of Whyspers

Lykas’ stone gambit had worked to perfection, stealing himself one Red Gem from the opposing team’s leader. Unfortunately, the Gem had been mid use when the swap occurred so Lykas now found himself getting a face full of lava-beam, at point blank range. It wasn’t going to kill him, luckily enough, but that was the type of thing that certainly was going to do more than just smart a bit. Because it was no longer in proximity to Blake, the energy cuts off quickly, the precious stone tamping down to a dull glow in Lykas’ hand, depending on whether or not he was able to hold onto the thing after a face full of magma energy.

Requiem of Whyspers

Darksol88

Blizzard120

DragonFang099
Brian, Amber, and Rachel were all caught off guard when a gruff voice spoke out, and none of them could react well when they were suddenly surrounded by grunts. What in the Reverse World was going on? The idiot that was speaking now had Brian's nerves fraying, and Amber and Rachel were exchanging a look as if asking the other if they knew who this wanker was. The way he said his name made them think that he was completely full of himself. Had Darts not interrupted the moron's self-important speech, Brian would have. As it was, as soon as Darts leaped forward and clocked the first grunt, Brian was right behind him.

Espeon_Commander

It was an absolute massacre. Explosions, Fire Blasts, Bullet Seed, even Bruce Lee? There was no way that these ordinary Dim Sun grunts were going to be able to do anything but fold like an old chair left outside in the rain in front of the Snagem vanguard following up in the wake of the initial onslaught spearheaded by Aile, Aria, Leslie, and Lykas in alphabetical order. The Pokemon, freed of their compulsion to fight as their tamers get mowed down or their Stylers are otherwise incapacitated, begin to rampage as well, the whole menagerie seeming to join in Team Snagem’s wake of destruction through the Dim Sun ranks, throwing additional attacks and bodies at the problem. At the rate things were going they should have just stayed cloaked and kissed their 401k goodbye. Even though there were TONS of Grunts, cannon fodder was only going to get you so far. Especially with the real lack of cannons making itself evident. Snagem carved through their ranks like a scythe through wheat; Dim Sun had sowed destruction and were reaping the whirlwind.

At the tip of the spear mowing through the Grunts, flanked on all sides by the rest of the team, was Darts and Ogerpon. Their teamwork was dazzling to behold for a trainer and Pokemon only a year together. They fed off each other’s energy and followed the tempo of the other without words. Darts would sweep a Grunt off their feet with his legs only for Ogerpon to be on top of them smashing them with an Ivy Cudgel a moment later. A Lucario, seeing the Legend preoccupied, would attempt to take advantage with an aura-infused Close Combat, a blur of fists filling the Masked Pokemon’s view only for Darts to utilize the momentum from his sweep to kip up and roll across Ogerpon’s back, his golden hands blocking each and every punch with dazzling speed before his disciple returns the favor, reversing the grip on its cudgel to swing a Wood Hammer uppercut-style into the canine’s jaw, launching it into the air.

“Graaaah! Pon!” She shouted into the melee, two vines sprouting and sweeping up to catch the arms of a Grunt trying to bring a rock down on Darts’ back in desperation. Her Hearthflame mask is spitting embers all over the place out of it, and you don’t want to know what she said but just know she’s incensed still at the ignominy of playing horseback rider for the better part of the last hour.

“Come on now, language Ogerpon! We’ve talked about this.” The gambler chides her hypocritically, having been raised and around Drake to swear his fair share of curses. The burden of raising your own student properly weighed on his shoulders, clearly, as he elbows that same Grunt in the forehead, knocking him out before catching him by the arm and swinging him like a discus thrower, tossing him into another trio of Grunts. The fight was doing them both some good, giving them a chance to gel together on the field of actual battle and shake off some of the rust. Shadow Pokemon was one thing, but there was something about battering an evil team that really got your blood going. He didn’t even need Outrage for these guys for the most part, and using it would definitely have been overkill. He bursts forward here and there where he needs some extra speed, but he wasn’t trying to remove limbs or anything like that.

Click.

The Giratina hybrid lets out a little gasp of surprise as a solid black collar is around his neck in an instant, one of the Grunts he had thought he had dealt with slipping it around his neck. A familiar-looking crest of a hand holding a Pokeball in the middle of it swivels on the front, clacking again as the device seats in place. All of a sudden, the gambler falls to one knee, the shock of losing touch with all of his internal energy at once taking all of his momentum away. His gilt fingers scrape at the thing around his neck desperately, but try as he might he’s unable to make any kind of purchase on it. Slicker than it had any right to be, his fingers fumble at the dark material. If Sub was near enough to THIS one, he’d be able to sense the Ebonite coursing through it very easily.

“Pon?!” Just Darts, what’s wrong? Spinning to face the Dim Sun Grunt who had placed the collar on her trainer, the Ogre of the Dreaded Den flies into a rage, not prepared nor willing to lose another of its friends. She swings her club wreathed in fire straight at the head of the nondescript Grunt, intending to separate it from its owner.

With inhuman speed, the normal-looking Grunt proves she’s anything but as she catches the Ivy Cudgel with one hand, full-on slapping Ogerpon across the face with the other before hurling her into the ground. Her body shimmers and shifts, another bit of camouflage dropping as she changes from looking like one of the many female Dim Sun members around into something not immediately recognizable as human, but no doubt familiar to some of the team. Whoever this was, she was clad head to toe in a black Expansion Suit, a black helmet with golden-orange visor gleaming in the ambient light of the magma now obscuring the wearer’s face from view. A glyph resembling an upper-case ‘E’ crosses the display area of the visor and she hefts a remote, clearly intending to draw Ogerpon’s attention to it.

“Oni of Kitakami Village, I’d take heed of my words before you try attacking me again. Your trainer, the fugitive known as ‘Darts’, is wearing one of your patented Ebonite Suppression Collars. Not that I need to tell monsters like you this, but one press of this button will inject liquid Ebonite into his bloodstream, shutting down his vital organs and resulting in immediate, excruciating, death.” The person’s voice is heavily modulated like a robot, the sound coming through speakers located somewhere on the exterior of the Expansion suit though the voice was unmistakeably female. “Now, if you want him to be able to live and face justice another day. I suggest you get into your capsule like an obedient Pokemon and await further instructions.”

Without taking her eyes off the Ogerpon, she clicks a button on her wrist with a finger, increasing the volume of her voice so it boomed across Volcano Cave, audible even over the sounds of battle from corner to corner of the room. ”Attention criminals! You are being taken into custody by S.W.I.P.E.! Do not attempt to resist arrest, do not attempt to obstruct our duties, and do not attempt to flee! Team Snagem and Team Dim Sun, I repeat, please put your hands on your head, drop your weapons, and cooperate!”

At the same instant as Darts being collared...

Blizzard120
Her attackers then suddenly flew like missiles right into the rock barricade, only for them all to unceremoniously flop to the ground after making impact with the rock barricade.

“Brutal. Creative. Unfortunately, not any closer to opening that rock wall.” Eris said.

“A woman had to try.” Freth said.

KABOOOOOM!

The attackers may not have had any effect on the rocks, but something on the outside sure did as the rubble explodes inwards all of a sudden, in Freth’s face. The kinetic energy was large enough from whoever or whatever broke the rocks that it would send her catapulting end over end to the ground. Smoke pours out of the entryway into the caldera, obscuring the view of the entrance as the raid continues.

Whoooosh, click.

A black disc, spinning like a bolas in midair, would unravel to reveal itself to be a ranged version of the same collar, wrapping neatly around Freth’s neck and clanking shut as the hand gripping a Pokeball symbol spins and locks in place. She would be able to feel the connection to Eris cut off nigh immediately as the Ebonite collar effectively severs her Psychic abilities in one.

Foot soldiers, dressed head to toe in black and orange uniforms matching the color scheme of the assailant currently taking Darts into custody begin pouring into the cave, outnumbering both Dim Sun and Snagem put together. Each of them is holding a projectile device in their hands with a supply for ammunition on their backs. As they encounter a hybrid they fire the weapon, sending another collar whirling end over end to wrap around their neck, their arm, wherever they can manage to hit. Regardless, the effect is the same, complete nullification of their powers upon the latch closing. There’s also an odd hum pervading through the area that had been drowned out by the sounds of battle earlier. A veteran Psychic-type (or Sub) would recognize the noise for what it was, Teleportation Scramblers. Ter may have been able to join the team via teleport earlier, but that certainly wasn’t going to be an option getting out of here now as whoever S.W.I.P.E. was, they had taken the time to set up a matrix of the things around the volcano while the fracas had been going on. There’s another explosion on the other side of the volcano as the other entrance faces the same fate, special forces armed with Suppression Collar projectors flowing through it as well.

As officers take Freth into custody, there was no doubt like hell Blizzard was going to stand by and let that happen. Unfortunately for him, he was one of their ‘priority’ targets. There’s a crackle of lighting that parts the smoke as a blurred individual, looking all the world like a lightning bolt in motion, zooms through the newly hewn portcullis via Agility to square up against Blizzard.

“How could you?!” Kess screams in his face, the Zapdos hybrid’s eyes practically bloodshot with rage as she spins her sword into her hand, the electric blade igniting with a ‘zzzzssss’ crackle as it jumps to life at her touch. An ex-Cipher member and ex-Cipher defector, Kess was now wearing a new uniform in line as far as make and color with the rest of the S.W.I.P.E. officers. And wherever she had been over the last couple years, she had been training. She batters the Articuno hybrid’s attempts at an attack aside, utlizing her speed and element of surprise to her advantage as she cleaves him over and over with Saetta, the obvious type advantage coming to bear as she attacks repeatedly, her patterns scintillating to watch even though she was taking it to one of the team’s veteran members. She finishes her onslaught by slamming him to the ground, raising a hand to the sky, palm upwards. There’s a low bass rumble for a brief moment before a Thunder crashes down from the heavens, a virtual pillar of pure Electric energy cascading over the Ice-type and drilling him into the ground for a few seconds until she’s satisfied. Huffing with exertion, taut from beak to tail, Kess walks over to the newly-formed crater with Blizz smoking at the bottom of it and clips a Ebonite collar to his neck, it clicking into place. “You have the right to remain silent, Blizzard...” She pants at him. “Though you weren’t much of a talker to start with. Me neither.”

Click.

Reno Vantas
Hey, he could have a foolish dream. He was currently trying to organize an attack on two fronts and had be really choosy with where he could direct greater focus.
Tsuki the Lunar Wind
From next to him, Maggie shot out an Ember that caught alight the attack that her partner sent out, before he struck it with Arcoiris and sent the baseball sized fireball straight towards Sol’s gut. He didn’t have to do damage just like he didn’t have to play fair. The electrically charged cyborg limb haymaker would do the trick if they just knocked the air out of him.

Or maybe Sol would cancel the attack and just get decked by a steel fist? Who knew!

The squads are seemingly okay with Sol taking care of their work for them, watching from the sidelines as the entranced Ho-Oh hybrid fought with the other Snagems, collar projectors trained on him the entire time. If there’s even an inkling of him breaking free, they’ll fire, taking him into custody. Plus, gotta think of the budget, these Telanovellas aren’t cheap to make. Reno’s head was probably going berserk from all of the teleport jamming going on, it wasn’t exactly the most friendly to psychics, but they seemed most worried about the hybrids first and foremost.

Where did these guys get this technology? Was it Blusix? He was the only one still holding an axe to sharpen against them. Something smelled like yesterday's Barboach around here and he didn't like it.

Well, if Sub had a reason to be suspicious before, the hinges were blown off that little chest of uncertainty now as the scene unfolded in front of him. Left and right Dim Sun grunts were getting cuffed and forced to the ground, organized and stacked by the officers as they separated the wheat from the chaff. The Dark One wasn’t sure what he had sown, unlike Dim Sun earlier, but he sure was reaping it now as the task force begins approaching all of the Snagems with handcuffs and collars, taking them into custody. There were a lot of questions, but not a lot of answers... fortunately, there was one man emerging through the smoke who might be able to shed some light on that.

"Oh, cool, Lykas got it." Sub commented as he watched Blake Hall lose the Red Gem in that moment, looking to Lykas and giving him a job well done thumbs up. With that taken care of the man turned his attention back to Blake Hall, arms folded. "Now I got a lot of questions for you mister Blake pause for emphasis Hall." Those questions however would have to wait, or rather never get asked.

It all happened so fast, one minute the Snagem leader was leisurely making his way across the chaotic battlefield as his Snagems took care of all these nameless mooks, making his way towards the ringleader as he attempt to mentally piece together what all was going on here. The next moment he picked up a surge of Dark energy which snapped him out of his thoughts, the man spinning his head around as quick as he could just in time to watch the collar get Darts. Immediate shock hit the Dark One as he watched the Giratina go down with such ease but the surprises wouldn't end there as the entire cave shook violently following an explosion. Was the place erupting? No, it wasn't that. He felt again, more Dark energy.

As the members of this 'S.W.I.P.E.' group rushed in Sub quickly picked up some of the familiarity in the air; teleportation scramblers. Because they relied on ebonite to work as well there was easily picked up by the Dark One, to him they gave their area of effect the sensation of a cool dark night. And while the feeling of darkness was comforting to the man this was not. His horror didn't end as the parade of alarm inducing revelations kept coming as he spotted the Expansion Suit wearer across the way, and as Blizzard got taken down by none other than Kess, he finally realized what those collars were. "More Cipher tech..." He muttered to himself as he did little but stand there and stared at the various things in disbelief.

What was going on? Who were these S.W.I.P.E. people? Why were they arresting Team Snagem? They were officially sanctioned by the Indigo League, they weren't criminals. In fact, they worked very hard to avoid this exact scenario, what was going on? "Let them go! We operate under the authority of the Indigo Alliance!" Sub shouted to no one in particular, wanting his friends released, the anger rising in his voice. What treachery was this?

"There will be plenty of time for questions later, Mr. Victor Vahn Locke. But I don't think this is exactly the place for it." A voice called out to Sub, a man stepping through the smoke lingering around the entrance to the cave. Tall, slender and wearing a brown trench coat came a rather average looking man however he walked with confidence and authority. It was Looker, of the international police. Sub was aware of him, the man famous, or infamous depending on which circles you were in. Seeing him only caused more dread to seep into Sub's mind as his stomach started doing flips. If the international police were involved in all this it couldn't be good.

"How about we go someplace more...cozy? Like let's say...Mount Silver?" Looker asked as an even taller man entered behind him. Towering at seven feet with ivory white skin and a bronze helmet with no discernible eye holes covering his entire head was a man that some who participate in the WCC would be horrified to see, the menacing wielder of the monstrous chimera Pokemon and Normal Channeler. Sub in that moment was immediately given even further whiplash as Looker named their home base and the monster from the WCC came in behind him. What was going on!?

I perked up when the rubble blocking the volcano was finally cleared up, only for that brief second thinking Freth finally managed to get the door finally opened. But the moment I turned back, seeing Freth reeling back from the explosion, instantly I knew something wrong. It was a lot to process instantly – a fight that was being completely one sided in spite of Dim Sun’s overwhelming numbers then suddenly there was a new party that was about to cause all manner of havoc for all involved. Freth found herself without her telekinetic powers, grabbing at the collar to try to rip it off. While she couldn’t work her psychic power like she wanted to, she still had her great amounts of strength to call upon, but for some odd reason, even that wasn’t taking against whatever this collar was. “Augh! The hell?” Freth shouted as she frantically tried to get the collar off of her. Before she knew it, she was quickly overwhelmed by the different numbers and dragged to the ground to be detained.

“Freth!” I shouted. Before I could think on going to the rescue, my instincts tripped severely. A extremely high pressure, ready to be unleashed in this massive fray. I quickly turned around and managed to avert a couple of blows, finally locking on with whoever that dared come in on me. I ended up with a look of surprise as I held my grip on her, as her sword, sparking furiously with electricity that threatened to take me out of commission permanently, unbelieving that I would see this one ever again. “Kess!? The hell are you-“ I wouldn’t be able to even finish that sentence. She wasn’t really one for any dialogue, as noted as she broke the clash and went in and try as I might to get my footing to defend myself, she wasn’t giving me the time of day. That instant I was a little dumbfounded that even now that she was still able to keep at least par to me. But for someone like her, this sort of thing was her life. It should have been to no surprise.

The more that I tried to counter attack, the more steps ahead of me she was; she came in with a plan, that much I could recognize. Before I knew it, I found myself back on the ground then taking a Thunder attack before I could find my way up again. To me and probably Kess, that whole exchange had to have lasted for a couple of minutes. To the untrained eyes surrounding us; probably a mere few seconds at best. An exchange, done in an instant. In spite of taking that powerful Thunder attack I was refusing to stay down, but as I tried to push myself up, Kess drove me back down and, just as with Freth, got slapped with a collar on as well.

“WA-TA!” Blaziken roared, who was still out of his Pokeball during the whole skirmish during Dim Sun. Seeing the events transpire instantly, Blaziken didn’t have much to go on other than knowing that his trainer was in trouble. Blaziken, still invigorated by the volcanic heat, rushed in, fully ablaze, foot first with a mighty Blaze Kick towards Kess.

Brian and Lu were still mowing their way through the grunts when Brian took a fist to the head, sending him to the ground. Lu stood over him as he recovered, getting back to his feet as he came up swinging at whatever, or whomever, had just hit him. His vision was starting to blur a bit as the scrape on his head started bleeding a bit more from the hit he'd just taken, and Lu noticed this and signaled him to stop. Brian barely noticed before his eyes rolled up in his head and he collapsed again, this time from blood loss and the adrenaline wearing off. Lu let out a panicked cry that, thankfully, Rachel heard, as she'd managed to follow the pair after breaking off from Amber and Spooky. "Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to him," she said, taking a first aid kit from her rucksack and opening it. She applied antiseptic to the injury, taking a bandage and wrapping it securely around Brian's head.

Just as she finished, she heard a voice boom throughout the cavern, setting her nerves on edge. Who was this S.W.I.P.E? And why were Dim Sun and Snagem both lumped into the same cloth with each other? As a pair of people approached, Lu let out a growl and prepared an Aura Sphere to fire, but Rachel's hand stopped the Lucario, making the attack dissipate. "Attacking them won't do any good, Lu," she said, her voice quiet. "Don't make this any worse than it apparently is." Turning to the two people, who had momentarily stopped and had hands on Pokeballs, ready to defend if necessary, she spoke again. "She won't attack anyone," she said, watching as they dropped their hands. "Just don't try to put her back in her ball. Let her carry her trainer." The two exchanged a look, then gave a single nod, not bothering to cuff Rachel since she was clearly not resisting. Lu hefted Brian onto her back and waited, ready to follow wherever they were led.

Amber was still panting a bit from mowing down grunts when the voice came through the cavern, booming through her eardrums and making her cover her ears. Spooky saw a pair of grunts coming after them and immediately fired a Shadow Ball at the pair, who dodged to either side and release a pair of Houndoom. Spooky appeared undaunted, and readied another Shadow Ball, but a grunt from Amber had him looking at her. Someone had slipped a black collar around her neck while he was distracted, and she was on the ground, trying futilely to remove the apparatus. Cooing worriedly, he floated down to see if he could help, but a gruff voice stopped him. "I wouldn't do that," the man said. "That's Ebonite. You won't be able to do anything to it. Surrender and go back in your ball, and your trainer won't be harmed."

Spooky glanced at Amber, who had managed to summon enough strength to speak quietly. "The collar was unnecessary," she growled at the man that knelt over her. "Spooky, do as they say." "But Sister!" Spooky protested. "I can't leave you unprotected!" "They won't hurt me, Spooky," Amber said, not really thinking about the fact she could suddenly understand her first Ghost-type. "Just go back in your ball. I'll let you out when we're in a safe place, alright?" The Shuppet grumbled, unhappy with Amber's orders, but didn't resist further. He tapped his Pokeball with his head, allowing it to suck him inside without fuss. Bubbles, unnoticed until now, approached as well, holding a hand out to Amber to help her to her feet before returning herself to her own ball. Amber looked at her captors and gave a sigh. "I won't resist," she said. "Lead me where you will."

The battle has begun, Deo vs Machamp. The battle of strength ended with a duck and under as the Machamp hit the rock wall and let loose of Deo. He would get up and stance at the ready of which the Machamp got up and the two fought like a boxing match. As Deo would be more bouncing like a boxer in the ring. The Machamp would try to wrestle, and the two would be ready for a match, hybrid vs pokemon. This was near the level of abuse, if he did not attack first. The Machamp just made his wicked smile. "You need to learn respect, punk" Deo would say, spitting out some blood.

“Psy, Psy!” (GO BOSS GO!) the Psyduck would declare with glee, despite having a big headache and a knot on the top of his head.

Lykas was a bit surprised that the Red Gem actually responded to his attempt to steal it properly, though he was more surprised by the fact it was behaving like some sort of artifact. And moreso, when he managed to take it, it was fully charged for another round of attacking. Meaning the moment it appeared in his hand, he was met with a point-blank release of volcanic energy to his entire upper half. The hybrid screamed in pain as he was engulfed by the magmatic laser, the scream ripping through the volcano louder even than his prior screech at Lavana.

The hybrid fell to his knees as the laser at last fizzled to a stop, the crystal dropping from his hands as they twitched from the pain. When the hybrid heard the beginning of what cae next, however, his eyes, barely open in that moment, snapped back open wide at the sound of the “click”. What the hell was that?! Looking toward the source of the sound, he saw Darts dropping to the ground with a jet black collar around his neck. He recognized that technology, he was fairly certain. Cipher had once used something similar, if he recalled, to suppress energies. “Eb….onite…” He grunted, forcing his body to begin moving.

An explosion. Another explosion. The arrival of Kess. Three major hybrids collared in a matter of seconds. He heard the sound of something being released behind him and utilized Acid Armor to shift his body to liquid, dropping to the ground as a collar sailed over him. Reforming as he spun in place, he fired a Water Spout in that direction, attempting to fight against whoever or whatever was suddenly after them, assuming this was another of Dim Sun’s tricks. He’d been so caught up in the pain of that blast that he hadn’t heard the declaration of arrest against both teams. He winced as he realized he was covered in burns, though none of them were anywhere near as bad as he suspected they should have been. Perhaps separating it from Blake. Hall had reduced the force of the blast? Snatching it up with one of his tentacles, he tucked it into his bag as he stood back up.

As the various people with their launchers continued their rampage through the two teams, he watched as one person after another was taken out of the fight on both sides. Turning to rush toward Darts, figuring he would be one that needed the most help with him being a Ghost-type hybrid, he heard the second declaration. Kill?! His heart stopped for a moment as his legs faltered. He couldn’t do anything, could he? This old tech wasn’t just for suppression anymore, clearly. He ducked to the side as he saw another person with a launcher taking aim at him, using Acid Armor to liquefy and move, taking a moment to hide again. “I’ll cooperate. But you’re not collaring me.” He told them. “If anybody’s putting a collar on me, they better have plans for a fun night and a late morning.” He exclaimed, looking around the large rock he’d ducked behind to find three more people positioning themselves around him. These people were here in droves, moreso even than Snagem and Dim Sun combined, it seemed.

“I said I’ll cooperate!” He shouted at them, taking a diving leap from behind his rock, shifting into liquid as he did, assuming he would be able to avoid the collars if he wasn’t solid. He would find that he was horribly wrong as one of the collars struck the very end of his liquid form and he instantly returned to his solid form with a brand new ankle bracelet securely snapping itself into place on his right ankle. “Son of a-!” He cried out a half second before slamming face-first into the ground, distracted by the collaring and forgetting to roll as he landed. Skidding across the volcanic stone of the cave floor for a few inches, he would sit up, holding his head as he felt the energies that normally fueled his completely cut off by the ebonite ring. “You bastards.” He swore, the heavy feeling of existing without his energy settling in quickly.

As Lykas was attempting to avoid capture, Chinami was trying to assist others, using her wavy seamitar to deflect as many of the rings as possible. She saw Lykas get caught and turned toward him, intending to try and free him, air swirling around her seamitar as she prepared to cut the air itself with a Vacuum Wave. Those things felt like Dark energy, so she assumed a good blow from a Fighting-type move would break them “Stand down!” Lykas barked. Apparently she hadn’t caught the exclamation either. “They got me. I’m not resisting.” He assured her. “There’s too much at stake.” Grabbing her Moon Ball, he recalled the Hisuian Samurott to it for the moment. He was breathing a bit heavily, as if that simple of an action left him winded. “I hope you lot know I hate you and if you give me the chance, I’m going to destroy you.” He warned just as Looker arrived on the scene and called Sub by name. Not any name but that name. The one very few people knew. How in the world did this guy know it?

Then, he made it clear he knew where the team’s HQ was with such a simple statement. That made sense, at least. If these were the international police, they likely had access to information from the Indigo Alliance. Which, as he recalled, the team’s headquarters had to be made known to them if they were to be allowed to continue operating with legal sanctions. The hybrid didn’t like this. More importantly, he couldn’t contact Odd and warn him, now. Was there anyone he could warn?!

~~~
Clare was still making their way toward Blake when the chaos went from Snagem Chaos(™) to Total Chaos(™) in an instant. The moment Darts was collared and the international police began arriving on the scene, they froze, quickly recalling Mirage to her Pokeball and throwing their hands into the air. They had been under the impression Snagem was a legitimate task force ever since they had joined and were extremely confused why both teams were suddenly being arrested. They wouldn’t resist as someone approached and placed an ebonite collar around their neck, keeping quiet for the moment. They didn’t know who these people were but it was clear they had some kind of legal authority and apparently either did supercede Snagem or believed they did. The Nihilego hybrid wasn’t sure which was the case but they weren’t willing to find out if those threats were real or not. Lykas was, apparently, and they could only try and hold their breath as he resisted detainment, fully expecting that their life would end at any moment up until he was caught as well. They still weren’t fully convinced something bad wasn’t about to happen, though.
When they still weren’t past-tense, they looked at the Jellicent hybrid and scolded him. “They might have believed you if you weren’t trying to escape from them, you know.”
“Shut up.” Lykas snapped back, more than a little irritated right now.
