I notice some of these comments are old, but what the hell. xD

Princess - I have never heard of anyone receiving morphine while pregnant. The risks have always been far too great. While seven days of labor is incredible, I still wince at the thought of having received morphine.

I sifted through the thread, and I'm actually sort of surprised that nearly every person had something happen that they considered terrible during their pregnancy. I personally won't get into my own story, as honesty there were a select few whom had it as rough as I did. Though I will say a few things, I was induced (picotin), received an epidural (painless), was doused full of nubain and magnesium sulfate. Simply from the medication alone the moment my daughter was out, I was hurling on the floor. Though I felt great, in the nausea sense, the moment I got it out of my system. My daughter was breech, and then decided to flip (with assistance) but stayed face up. I had a seizure during my active labor and for a few terrifying minutes thought we had lost the baby. My placenta surprised us with a whole shock of problems as well. I'll avoid the more horrible things, though. xD

But nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed my pregnancy and the single most fantastic part of my labor was when I took control (dangerous, I know) and had her out of me and in my arms. Seems like everyone explains that holding your baby is the best part, and for me it truly was. =3

The worst: not being able to push, when the urge to is so strong, it's almost primal.

The best: meeting that little bundle of unconditional love.

personally, I don't think that pushing is the worst part. For me it was being hooked up to IVs all the time and constantly having to stop and be in bed (which seemed to make the contractions worse!) for monitoring!

I think the worst was my mom pushing down on my shoulder and my husband pushing my head down. That hurt more than the labor.

Worst: Not being able to push when I needed to due to a cervical lip, not getting to hold Ethan for 6 hours, delivering the placenta, and getting stitches by my urethra. YOWCH.

Best: Knowing he was finally out and getting that quick glimpse of him. 4laugh

Worst: Three things really. The first when I was hooked up to that horrible machine to monitor the baby's heart rate, which made my contractions WORSE! Regretting I didn't take the painkillers soon enough, so by the time they'd kicked in, the baby had been pushed out. And the third is having to have a few stitches because I was about 2cm under-dilated when I just had to push.

Best: Being able to hold the child that had been growing inside me for nine and a half months. Seeing the look on my mum, brother, grandparents and partners face when they all held her. Being allowed to sleep and my partner did all the yucky nappies whilst I was in hospital (I did about one or two during my three day stay). And looking forward to when I want to and do have the next one so I can go through it allllll over again biggrin (yeah, some of you probably think I'm mad)

i had an epidural, i slept thru practically the entire labor. they woke me up and told me i'd start pushing in 15 minutes, 15 mintues later i started pushing, they told me that i'd be pushing for between 45 mintues - 2 hours....17 minutes later i had a beautiful baby boy! i loved it all. pushing wasn't bad at all. after he came out i had the best feeling ever, the release of pressure and relief...wonderful...

on the other hand, that was the first time i ever had an IV stare i hated it. it hurt and stuff. i hated it. then they had that automated blood pressure thingy ._. that wasn't fun either. specially while i was pushing >< talk about irritation. then the 8 weeks of bleeding after birth...that wasn't fun either ._. lol there's my good and bad <3
