Corrupt Eternal Kamacite | Roll 2

Everything felt heavy and breathing was increasingly difficult. Kamacite pressed his free hand over the wound on his arm as it throbbed painfully. He had to pause to try and catch his breath, and thankfully the fog creatures seemed to be disappearing.

At least it seemed as though the General’s friend was alive. The energy that the blond General had lost seemed to be revitalized when they both heard his name being called. So that was one good thing for that night.

And yet, even as he fought off the remaining fog creatures at the General’s side, dread that had nothing to do with the monster washed over Kamacite.

Once everything was over, and once his temporary companion was reunited with Jet, Kamacite would once again be on his own.

He knew this was something he should be used to by now, but it didn’t mean that he looked forward to sitting alone with nothing but his thoughts to keep him company. He didn’t even know why the thought of being left behind was upsetting him, since this blond b***h tried killing him. The General was no friend of his, but after surviving their ordeal…

No, it was all an illusion.

Kamacite drew in a breath to steady himself, picked up a large rock he found on the ground, and hurled it at the monster because that was as close as he was going to get to it.

Shaowei - Senshi of Entreaty - 8 | 3

It was an understatement to say that Metis hadn't made quite the entrance as she had strode onto the scene. Whatever patience that Eternal had once had seemed to have dissolved in an instant. As the fog had rolled in and she'd entered the fray, she'd made it abundantly clear that she would not humour any fogbeasts.

...But in the end, the line wouldn't be held by the Eternal for now. Her priorities had lain elsewhere and as she'd knelt by her friend, Shaowei had understood. If the Eternal had possessed the bring the unresponsive senshi back from the brink, then it remained Shaowei's responsibility to hold back the flood. Given she wasn't the best fighter she couldn't guarantee how long that line would hold, but as Athalia had once said before.

All you could do was try.

Fortunately, fog beasts were conveniently easy to stall and destroy in that respect. Causing such creatures to disintegrate was as easy as sweeping a hand through them and for a time she was able to keep them at bay. That seemed likely to change though as the flow of fog began to slow and the real beast emerged bringing with it the familiar shriek of fury that she'd heard before... The very one that had result in those fated words from before.

She wouldn't be running this time.

"I think I may need a bigger branch," she uttered under her breath as she regarded the much larger figure before her.

Where was that other Mauvian when she needed a flamethrower, quite frankly that probably would have been incredibly useful at this particular moment in time!

Namielle, Guardian Cat - 5 | 6

Namielle could appreciate the unspoken agreement that several of her companions, and even those around her, seemed to have come to. The time for fear was over, the time for tolerance long gone, and there would be no more running. Whatever sick little game the magic of Destiny City had chosen to play would come to an end and they would tear down each and everything thing that stood in their path.

Chaos or Order, both possessed strength worthy of respect and even though the Mauvian was far from the most powerful, she would ensure that she took her piece as well.

With Shaowei nearby, the pair were able to keep their own perimeter safe and eventually the fog-born beasts began to fall back. The area began to clear and for a time it seemed like they might have won, but even Namielle knew that things were never that simple.

Her ear swivelled at the sound of the senshi as he seemed to stir, a quick glance over her shoulder to confirm that he was moving and then the shriek came, one that she had never truly heard until today. What fog-beasts she had been accustomed to seemed to recede, replaced by a much larger creature; was this what they had fought before?

Her eyes narrowed and in those moments the disgruntled Mauvian shot a single well aimed laser towards one of its many eyes.

Captain Rakovanite l 7 R2

He wondered how many who had been trapped with him currently possessed the physical ability or mental wherewithal to deal with a monster that still seemed in peak condition. Nothing that had occurred in the last three weeks even hinted that it might have suffered from any attempts to assault it. Yet Rakovanite and nearly everyone else he'd seen who'd been captured had sustained clear injuries from the fight that inevitably landed them in a cell.

Smacking fog apparitions was one thing, but it was another entirely to expect a bunch of wounded prisoners to be any help against a creature faster and stronger than they were.

Rakovanite grimaced and peeled his hand away from where it lay over his sore and bruised ribs. Much like any other situation, though, he had little choice but to try. There weren't other options available to him. Fighting was the only chance of an 'out,' and even if they failed... If they failed the monster probably wouldn't hold off on killing anyone who was an absolute nuisance, anymore. So, really, what was the harm in trying? Rakovanite wanted to be done, and one way or another, it would be here.

His dark gaze tipped back when he heard the somewhat familiar sound of a crack, accompanied by a brisk wave of heat. Cervantite was fighting the last dregs of the fog monsters. He and Narcissus must have made their way here from the village.

Great. The gang was all here. Now they could die together.

And that did seem to be the beast's intention, at this point. The fog seeped away, leaving only the massive creature and rapidly dwindling temperature. The longer they allowed it to hang out and prepare, the more likely they were to get hurt. Seemed unwise to give it much time, if they could help it. Steeling himself, Rakovanite moved to advance. It was just fortunate that his chakrams allowed him some range.

Corrupt Basic Diesel of Combustion l 3 R2

The fog creatures weren't so tough. Just persistent. That didn't bother Diesel any. He could be persistent too. And as far as he was concerned, he was looking for a reason to go all in with his magic, something he hadn't had opportunity to do since getting these powers. If this thing wanted a fight, he was gonna freaking give it one.

"You want some?" He demanded in a screech, waving a clenched fist in the creature's direction.

Others from the village were on the scene too. This thing may have been able to take out a handful of them at a time, but they were all on board now. No one was going to hang back and hide when the thing that had been forcing them to seek shelter finally revealed itself. And Diesel was so ready for a blast, it practically vibrated in his bones.

It helped to see a couple familiar faces among the bunch. There was the Neptune squire he'd danced with. There was the model he'd run off into the forest with. The Dark Mirror who'd cheered while they'd 'fought' atop the building. The Order senshi he'd thrown to combat his brother. And- Diesel went still as the round saw edge of a chakram whipped out toward the monster.

Nat.

Yeah, there was this monster out here, and it was trying to kill them (or attack them or something), but Nataniel was here! When Diesel had thought the worst, after that fight.... He ran to Rakovanite's side, flinging an arm out and catching the older boy by the shoulders. "You're not dead!"

Civilian Alex - 4
NovaCracker

Makeup: Roll 1
"Ms, Yolie. I haven't been married in...goodness, a couple of decades. Don't worry, it was amicable." Alex chuckled, getting up from where she'd been working with some of the root vegetables she'd found. "But yes, I'm coming with." She stretched and grabbed the simple cudgel she'd found during one of her gathering trips, moving with the others to see what was going on. She might be older, but there were two young women with them, and like hell was she going to let any harm come to them!

The tree was a strange sight...but the river at its base was a welcome sight. A river meant a landmark, and a potential way out at last. "Whatever just happened, I thi-" The sudden drowning of the light and the rolling fog caught her off guard, goosebumps on her skin. "Of course the horror game brought to life had to throw another wrench in the works." And then there were monsters. Though a rush of fear lanced through her, Alex grit her teeth, narrowed her eyes, planted her feet, and swung at any the dared to come close to her and her little group.

Corrupt Eternal Cybele - Roll 2: 9

Ah. There it was.

A grim smile rose to Cybele's face as she saw the creature's protective fog beaten back and its antlers and many-feathered tail came into view. She gritted her teeth against its roar, but that was nothing in the grand scheme of things. It was outnumbered, and at the risk of giving the beast more intelligence than it deserved, she thought she could sense a hint of desperate fear in the way it was acting.

Cybele liked that. It was the creature's turn to be prey.

The others were giving her the cover that she needed to keep her distance, and so she called out her most powerful attack and waited as the ethereal bow formed in her hand, the five arrows on the string. She aimed high, above the head of anyone else, and she released her magical volley straight into the monster's bony face.

Quote:
Hunter's Strike
An ethereal bow forms in Cybele's hands. Five arrows form this time, and now she can use them to hit enemies. She can aim at a single enemy with a range of 15 feet. They will have no effect on people within five feet of her, however. The arrows will spread out over a small area of about two feet in diameter. It's mostly a single target attack, but could possibly hit two people with a little timing. It's somewhat hard to aim a bow with five arrows on the string, though. If they hit, they will do about as much damage as a dart, including scratches, pricks, and slightly more serious stabs. It could be fairly serious depending on where they hit, though. The aim on this attack is not great, at best one or two will hit the main part of the body. The rest will hit limbs, be scratches or miss completely. It's possible to outrun. The arrows dissolve as soon as they hit anything, so the attack can also be blocked. She can use this attack twice per battle, but it drains her. If she uses it once, she will feel as if she's sprinted a short way. She'll be tired, noticeably a little bit slower but not heavily impacted. If she uses it twice she will be tired, able to fight but just barely. She'll be less responsive, just basically really tired.

Captain Wolframite
Half-Youma
Damage: 3

Prompt 2

He grabbed on her hesitantly, desperate to keep her near him, but he knew that she needed room to fight. He'd be a heavy weight on her if he tugged on her like a demanding toddler.

"Alright just - don't loose us. We need to stay together. They are pushing us apart." He said to her, working to keep himself steady and on his feet in the face of such overwhelming odds.

He spotted Beni again and called out. "Over here!" He said, and waited for the man to get closer, but he seemed to be set with a determined brow to handle the creatures attacking them.

[Aimee Lacroix, Civilian || Prompt 2]

Aimee gasped, knocking down one of the fog monsters and watching it fade away. It felt like a moment of relief--a feeling that maybe, just maybe, she could push back against the horror unfolded before her. She couldn't do much. She didn't have magic, like some of the other people here seemed to. She wasn't some great and terrible supernatural being.

But she refused to lay down and suffer.

She bent, and fumble,d and found a rock on the ground.

It was small, and pathetic, and it might not do anything on its own. But it was a yell of defiance, a decision not to just give up.

Aimee hurled it at the monster that emerged from the fog with a furious cry, and hoped.

[Soyala, Corrupt Mauvian || Prompt 2]

Soyala wiggled, hissing and spitting at the creatures that came near. There were so many, but that didn't matter. There were also plenty of people to fight them. She knew she couldn't do much on her own, but she was eager to do what she could.

So when the creature appeared out of the fog, she yowled and charged forward, leaping to claw at its legs and then landing on the ground behind it. She would fight like her sister, fit hat was what it took to get back home.

[Elsa, Dark Mirror Super Senshi || Prompt 2]

Elsa laughed, as the fog shapes fell before his onslaught. Yes, yes, this was it. He loved every second he was in a fight, and it was where he was in his element.

As the foggy figured began to go down and stay down, Elsa whooped excitedly, and he whirled on his heel. He tried to spot Monoceros, but in the foggy chaos, there was no sign of him=--or of Jacques, the civilian Elsa had met earlier, or anyone else he recognized. He inhaled sharply, and hoped they were all okay, but for the moment there were more important things to focus on, like the emerging beast. When it howled, he snarled back, vicious and feral and ready to bite and claw and tear.

He was Elsa of the Wendigo, a beast, and he would destroy the beast before him.

His eyes lit with a burning eagerness, and he took a breath, charging forward, one of a number, and aimed to slam his body into the creature's torso.

Sailor Monoceros [Roll 2] | 4

....Okay, so much for his optimism. Nice. All the smaller creatures had been defeated, but now they had to fight the ******** giant one.

A thought suddenly decided to just run through his head and make him give a slightly hysterical laugh (probably more than slightly, if he were being honest with himself). Would you rather fight a horse sized duck or a thousand duck sized horses?

Monoceros desperately wanted to go back to the thousand duck sized horses they had a moment ago instead of this... well, it was bigger than a horse, and to be fair, all the creatures had been bigger than ducks, and the analogy was kind of falling apart here, okay, whatever, it didn't matter, the point was it was probably better to have all the enemies instead of one giant one! This wasn't exactly the David and Goliath story here!!

He flung more of his quills at the creature, feeling both excited at the fact that most of them actually hit this time, and absolute terror as he realized they weren't exactly doing a lot of damage. ********.

Lawrence - Civilian - 5

Yolie and Cherish are not acting in combat capacity unless necissary and will not be rolling.
Fog. Fog beasts for how many yards? Ohh hell no. He was not letting this abominations near his daughter or the poor blonde his daughter's age. He reached, motioning the younger girls behind him and nearer to Alex, and nodded to her to indsicate he trusted the two of them could protect them. She had momentum to build her blows, to fuel strikes he lacked beiung mopre of a noodle, and he? He had an axe, even if iut was a pathetic hand axe. Still they cane, and ?KLawrence channelled the steel resolve he came into becoming La Brea with to begin tearing through the monsters, glad he was armed with a blade and not a flimsy rose. Really -- this was anbsolutely nicer to fight with, unless La Brea's rose could magically tiurn into a deadly wqeapon.

Cherioish caught her father's gesture to step back, and moverd, positing herself between Lawrtence and Alex as she pulled Yolie with her. Although Cherish didn't fight, she did watch, frowning as her father tear into things. Cherish had a hunch he was enjotying it on some level really. He wasn't carrying a rose, or watching for Chaos agents... Just monsters. Horrible awfgul monsters. So Cherish opted to dopdge only, almost dancing as she channelled lessons from Sailor Limosa into avoiding opponents. Admittedly, Yolie earned two arched brows from her. The other blonde seemed to be in a groove.

Yolie allowed Cherish to yank her away because she wasn't armed and she honestly wasn't Dubhe. If she could turn into Dubhe, she'd do so and rip in like she noticed some senshi and such in the fog doing, but she could dodge and make defense easier. Sweeping into the motions of evasion were so much easier. She moved as if she wore her fuku, but the extra eight wasn't there -- she lacked the preternatuiral speed of a senshi but enjoyed a reaction speed that allowed for her to make snappy evasions, ducking and dancing around the fog beings with a grace born of practice. Sure, Mr. Lawrence was armed, but hjew was a civilian -- and Yolie allowed herself to draw some fire from Alex to talk.

"But you're older than me, ma'am!" Yolie protested, ignoring Cherish's suspicious squinting. She was too cute to be sus!....

Metis of the Third Eye | 7 Prompt 2

He wasn't stirring, wasn't responding to her. Metis continued to shake him, running careful fingers against his face. Dirt and debris were brushed aside, white gloves growing grimy from the contact. "Please, please, you need to wake up--"

During the past nearly month, Metis had done her best to keep away from normal Chaotic energies. Dark Mirror Senshi... they were different. Or at least, they'd somehow become such to her. Their energies felt off, and at times wrong to her, sure, but... perhaps after so much time together, it no longer made her tense. The skin-crawling sensation of a corrupt senshi, however...

Her eyes were narrowed behind her blindfold, brows furrowed as she lifted her head to observe the figure approaching them. Making their way through the fog figures. Slender. Orderly. Military, without question. Metis' body shifted, bringing herself closer to nearly lean over Athalia, her attention entirely riveted to the person capable of wrenching his starseed out if she so chose. The hair at the back of her neck stood on end, her pulse a panicked buzz in her ears.

The corrupt spoke first, and Metis felt her blood run all the colder. Not the best time to meet your maker, is it? Suspicion ran amuck in her brain--towards Athalia? Her? But what could this corrupt do? "What do you want?" She had no interest in pleasantries in that moment. Her voice was little more than a snarl. In any other moment, Metis would have facepalmed at her own behaviour. A near month of time spent between the factions, and whatever possible goodwill might have existed, she was arguably spitting upon. But in her mind, all she could think of was this senshi reaching her hand into Athalia's chest, and either taking his starseed, or somehow pushing Chaos into it... and something dark twisted inside the Eternal's ribcage for it. If she tries, I'll break her arm.

But none of that happened.

She cracked her knuckles, causing Metis to tense all the more, and then... called out her magic. Adorea Optimistic Wink! Metis blinked. Once. Twice.

She... was helping them. Guilt flared, sickly and hot, and Metis' shoulders sank quickly as heat flared in her cheeks. "I... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spoken to you like that. Thank you for helping him, Adorea." Not that the corrupt in question hung around long, and it wasn't like Metis had long to focus on her own stupidity in that moment.

Her attention shifted, hands again fluttering carefully. "Athalia? Athalia, wake up. Please, you need to wake up now. You need to wake up!"

Whatever the full extent of the magic used on him, it was enough to give him the boost needed to climb back out of wherever he was. The ragged breath tore at her, though she pushed a gentle smile to her face. "Easy, easy," she said softly as he sat up. Her hands rested at his shoulders, and briefly, her forehead did as well. "...thank god..." Relief made her almost giddy. If it wasn't for the fog creatures around them, anyway.

And the monstrous scream that echoed out.

She lifted her head immediately, her hands tightening briefly on his shoulders before she released him. "I can't tell how badly you're injured. Do you need bandages?" She had plenty of skirts left to offer strips for that. There was only a slight hesitation before she continued, her voice firm, "Athalia, can you use your magic still? If so, keep behind us so you're not injured further. You can keep us safe with your magic. If you already collapsed, you're not in the shape to be on the front lines, but you're far from useless." She wasn't going to let him risk himself. Not again. She refused.

Realta | 1 Roll 2

Dark Mirror energies, surprisingly enough, had become rather familiar to her. After living with Shaowei and Elsa for the last nearly month, the guardian's fur no longer bristled from the off Chaotic energy. Even despite her initial unease. It was... different. But the two Dark Mirror Senshi had become enjoyable to spend time around, something she'd not remotely anticipated.

Corrupt senshi energies, however...

Realta yowled low in the back of her throat, slashing at a fog entity that ambled too close, before she turned her head to stare at the redheaded woman that approached Metis and Athalia. The guardian tensed, her large, lithe form primed to launch herself towards the Negaverse's agent if she twitched in a way the Mauvian didn't approve of.

It was... a surprise then, that the senshi helped them. Pearl eyes blinked, startled and staring at the development. Optimistic? Her brow quirked. Fog figures continued to bumble about though, and Realta hissed, turning her attention back to the fight--and the creature that bellowed, clearly unhappy with the way things were going.

Well, it wasn't alone in that.
