Oh great! One impulsive move and Henry had unintentionally woke the sleeping- boy? Was it just a boy? Naturally he wanted to refer to them as something else on account of their Hallowed features but this wasn't to be spiteful or cruel. Up until this moment the brunette little Geist had only heard tales and stories of Hallowed Nightmares and Daydreams. With his little tippy toes he shuffled back quickly, giving the other plenty of room to fall to his knees as he awoke. "Th-those are your real eyes?" he questioned as though this might be some optical illusion. He had seen Fey with beautiful eye like markings on their wings but these had opened. They had blinked at him! He was quite horrified in the moment so the naturally well mannered and kind hearted boy was keeping his distance from the other Freshling for good measure. "I... didn't mean to wake you up- I mean, I had but not like that. I just-" the boy was overwhelmed with nerves, shorting out his circuit of otherwise humble and collected thoughts.

Someone was talking to him. Harvest could hear the words but could barely process them. The boy pushed his hat back in to place, revealing the singular black and untwisted horn he had received from his hallowed mother. His mutated fey wings fluttered, his lower pair of eyes straining to focus as his upper pair remained squeezed tight, as if overwhelmed by the the sudden switch in light. It took a few moments, but the words slowly started to make sense, and as Harvest's eyes focused he could see a geist backing away from him. Oh. Was that why his hat was all out of sorts, or was it just from sleeping and getting all twisted up in himself? Harvest couldn't tell, but obviously he had freaked the other child out. Somehow."S'okay ... I'm used to it. My brothers do it to me all the time." Harvest pressed his right hand to the floor and pushed himself up slowly, still a bit groggy. "Yes ...they're my real eyes ... ?" It seemed like such an odd question to Harvest. Yes, considering his elf-fey blood, they boy shouldn't have possessed four eyes, but Shades could have them ... perhaps the geist had simply not run across one yet? They were fairly new. Could Harvest really blame them? "Definitely real. See?" Harvest winked with opposite eyes -- the bottom left and the top right. Then the same with the top left and bottom right. "First hallowed?" It was just a guess. Harvest certainly wasn't as mutated as 'mares could get, and was lucky that some of his traits were not too jarring, considering other races could have something similar, but his wings were really what gave him away as a hallowed. They just were not normally fey wings, and hardly functioned as wings to begin with. "So I take it you didn't wake me for anything in particular? Did you need something? You said it wasn't on purpose."

They speak! Henry, for whatever reason, hadn't been expecting for any kind of interaction. Perhaps he had been under the impression that Hallowed beings were incapable of functioning as normal nightmares. Oh, how very wrong that assumption was. Henry got a few display of actions. The boy apparently had control of each eye individually, and much like he had seen them originally they fell back into a squint, giving the illusion that only one pair was present. From those slits the boy's green eyes followed along that horn sat smack dab in the center of his forehead. It didn't quite coordinate with the wings placed along his back. Apparently this must have been one of those Hollowed Hybrids. Not that Henry would have known any better on account of his basic knowledge of other races. He only knew what he did from his constant pestering questions. Then he spoke. Henry flicked his wandering eyes down to the pair of orbs that were peering back at him through a sleepy perspective. "O-oh, I... Well, I didn't wanna smack you in the face. No no, I would never. I just... I wasn't expecting the extra... you know." With that his grubby little hands pointed up at his own eyes to gesture what he had meant. To Henry's knowledge everybody was suppose to have two eyes. He was still so young and despite being a very needy, social child he was inexperienced with other's unique features. Harvest was kind enough to give a proper display when it came to his eye functionality. It seemed the more words that fell from this other kid's mouth the more at ease it made Henry until his tensed up shoulders had fallen into a state of relaxation once again and he reclaimed the steps he had taken backwards. "Mhm, first ever... I..." There came the distraction. Henry leaned a bit to the left as he caught sight of the odd wings sprouting from the other's shoulder blades. He seemed friendly enough but it was such a struggle to withhold all of the questions bouncing around inside Henry's little noggin. "I didn't exactly have a reason but- Well, I guess in a way I did. You see, everybody else is playing and I suppose there's not enough room for me or something. When I saw you over here napping I thought maybe if I could get you to wake up you might... want to play."

Inina was having a rough week, she couldn't get her technique down for pancakes. One time they were burnt to a crisp, another they were still runny in the middle, not to mention how the heck do you flip a pancake without making a mess? Don't even get her started on the batter consistency. How was she going to be the best chef in all of Below if she couldn't even make pancakes?! Her brother told her about the playroom and their library section. He must have been tired of trying her failures because he was quite insistent on her going to read up making pancakes.
Now that she was here she didn't know where to start, but not one to shy away from asking questions she went right up to one of the older nightmares and asked where to find the cook books. She was on a mission and would not be distracted by all the commotion in the playroom. She found a couple books and went to the find a spot to "study". Obviously the bean bags were the comfiest spot to do that, so she made her way over to them and dropped into a bag, "oof." Inina wiggled into place before opening her book. As she read the page, tidbits of information escaped her lips. "Flour.. Dry.. Milk.. Beat eggs.." She knew all this! Where was she going wrong? "Ugh!" She flung herself back and huffed.

Aah, there it was! The reason for the disturbance. Harvest shrugged gently. While his brother Pod was the type to wake someone with an awful Prank, Oliver and Bean on the other hand frequently wanted to play. Of course, their attempts at waking Harvest were quite a bit different. They didn't involve dropping his hat on his face, but beggers could not be choosers. Although, Harvest hadn't really asked for anyone to play. After all, he had come to the playroom to escape from the noise of the farm. While spending his time playing with another freshling had not been what the boy had intended, a new friend really couldn't hurt. The shrug had been more of an acceptance of circumstances rather then of disinterest. "Alright." Harvest said, not really aware that he hadn't directly been asked to play. The other child had just wanted to play together before he saw what Harvest was. Perhaps the offer still stood? It was rather presumptuous, but the kid sounded just as lonely as he did. "What did you have in mind?"

Tarunen smiled at the pat to his head and made a happy sound, then tilted his head to one side as the question was posed. He made a confused chirp and Tarja looked between him and Pere before she answered. "Um....Taru doesn't know what that is...is it a game?"Sort of. It's when people push each other and roll around and try to prove they're strongest." Mariana explained with a small sigh, shaking her head. "...Oh...um..." Tarja looked unsure but Tarunen smiled brightly and was nodding enthusiastically. "....Taru says it sounds fun but....does it hurt?'

Mariana looked worried when she noticed how eager Pere was about wrestling...and even more when Tarunen seemed to be interested in the idea. The tail and his host were definitely different personalities, with Taru being more curious and open to trying new things than Tarja was. Still...wrestling? "You *can* get hurt if you're too rough but is it even fair? Taru doesn't even have arms." Mariana looked at the tail who seemed almost insulted and straightened up like he was puffing out his chest. "....Taru says he doesn't need arms to be strong. I mean...it's true, he's strong and can do a lot without arms." Tarja looked at her tail with a hint of admiration but also a little worry. "...I dunno, maybe as long as Tarja doesn't get hurt.."Mariana still sounded a little dubious about that. Could they wrestle without potentially getting Tarja involved? Ever since she met the shade she worried about her getting hurt or being scared.

Winter shrugged, she didn't really know why this school was so adamant for them to play and make friends constantly. She looked around the room, it seemed like this was the place for the kids who didn't fit in. Life was about more than playing nice and socializing. "I can't speak for other people but I want to do more than just play simple games.. I want to learn. To do that I have to do it alone." She sighed "You can't force friendship...and you can't force people to get along...or be nice.". Winter was always avoiding the other kids because no one liked a smarty pants. She figured out very quickly that she was different. Square peg for a round hole? The staff could "encourage" her all they wanted and even send her to a councilor to "help her come out of that shell"...but they couldn't change who she was. She was proud of her intellect. She loved to read and learn and do math. "Um...what are you doing here anyways?" Winter inquired to the other. She didn't really know if people came to the place for fun or if everyone here was referred.

xRoshan was confused as to why the elf nodded. She hadn't otherwise given any indication that she had heard Roshan so they decided that is what the nod was about. She must not have known what to say next after saying hello. If it weren't for their mom's training, Roshan might have been in her position too. They decided to go along with this elf as she seemed to be a lot like them. The femme seemed to finally realize she had been asked a question. Her response was at first confusing but she indicated the coloring pages between them, allowing Roshan to guess the proper subject of her outcry. Thankfully she clarified herself even more before Roshan had to figure out if she was just pointing out what they were doing or something else. "Um, I think so," Roshan said as they spread out more of the pages. They were pretty sure they had seen one of the top of a chest of drawers with items on it to color; most of which were rocks. The funny part was that one rock had had eyes put on it. (That's the reason it stuck out in Roshan's mind.) When they found it they held it out to the other freshling. "Here's it is."Roshan attempted a pleasant smile before introducing themselves. "I'm Roshan, by the way. What's your name?"

“Well I think Dad said once it was something about power levels and the like. I mean I know we can’t perform it but it would still be nice to have theory classes to work on or something” Vanhi agreed. “Guess it’s just something to look forward to when we get to junior and senior years and I’ll have fun watching grandfather cast in the meantime.”“Mm I think it depends on the café. Ours get a lot of academy students, well not so many freshlings but a good chunk of seniors and juniors show up. Grandpa likes to give them discounts. We have this sparkly unicorn drink that everyone likes trying. Our family isn’t big coffee drinkers so while we do serve coffee drinks we like to have a lot of non-coffee drinks as well.” She nodded along with Maurice when he mentioned what his fathers did, or one of them. She wished she could relate better but it didn’t seem like Maurice was torn up about it at all. Then again she only knew him for a few minutes so she couldn’t really say whether or not it was really water under the bridge. "well maybe one day you'll find out. Still as long as they have fun doing what ever it is they do, it cant be that bad. Well mostly."

Imiri smiled happily, continuing trying to finish with the block tower before he paused to write a thought on his pad. He tapped the other freshling on the shoulder, showing it to her. "What are you building?" He thought for a moment, writing something else down. "Do you like castles?" Imiri figured that he could gather up enough blocks to try to build a castle if they wanted. Or he could grab a chair and just keep building higher with his new friend. It didn't matter much to him, cause he was having fun with Stella and she was so focused on building!

Lilly’s eyes widened. He agreed! He agreed! That was a good sign, Birkita would have usually just given her a flat look and a simple no. Oh, she couldn’t wait to let the world know about her new friend!
She practically vibrated in excitement, moving on her heels in rapid jumps, before moving over to the console. It was a two player, fortunately. And set like a racing game, but with dinosaurs instead of carriages. Her grin widened. She sucked at racing games but this one had dinosaurs and she knew all about dinosaurs. So, naturally, she was going to be great at this game! ”Do you like games, Hamish?” she asked breathlessly as she tried to figure out how to set up the game. She wasn’t usually the one to set it up, either. She couldn’t tell one button to another.

Nervous. ...was she nervous? Maiqa blinked her golden eyes owlishly as she entered the room. This would be her first experience since being deemed old enough to venture among other children. Small, sharp nails clacked on the floor as she tap-tap-tapped them, contemplating to approach others. As she wondered, her eyes roved over to bright flowers nestled in the window, and her eyes widened in excitement. Completely ignoring her surroundings, she bounded toward the window, long tail flicking from side to side, bound to hit at least one child in her merry, clueless journey toward the flowers. She pulled herself up close to the flowers and looked at them carefully, tail flicking from side to side behind her like an excitable puppy. ((Any can fall victim to her tail if they'd like to engage her!))

They thought so?! Jane anxiously shifted from one foot to the next. She couldn't believe it. Jane had had issues finding a picture filled with rocks when she had riffled through it in the beginning. And she had looked for a long time. Like. Two minutes. But there was no sign. If a stranger could find it for her then she'd take it! Jane wasn't one to say no to someone who had her interests in mind. Not at all. Rudely, she peered over, nearly touching Roshan's head with her own. A small gasp left her lips at the sight. Quickly, she snatched it from the other freshling, making sure not to touch their hands. As much as Jane didn't like other students, she couldn't help but beam at the freshling. She couldn't believe it! It took every bone in her body not to rush off into a secluded corner and work on it by herself. ...Her gaze traveled towards this Roshan. Maybe she'd stay. This stranger was nice enough. "Thanks!" Jane sat down on the ground; deciding her fate for the next few minutes. "My name's Jane." she grabbed a small crayon from the pile tapping it on the paper. "What did you name your colors?" She gestured towards Roshan's picture. Maybe she could name her picture something similar. Have it matching.

x x xRoshan was startled when the elf snatched the paper from their hands. She seemed very happy to find the page. She must really like rocks, Roshan thought. They knew someone who collected pretty rocks and wondered if the two would get along. Roshan smiled in return. "You're welcome," Roshan said. They watched her sit before she introduced herself. Her next question once again confused Roshan. "Um." They looked at their drawing and contemplated what to say. "I think I'll name them vesper blues." The colors Roshan had mostly chosen were blue or close to. They were rather proud of the range of patterns they were making on the vespercat's coats. Roshan gave Jane a smile unprovoked and got back to putting in odd spots.
