A brow rose on her face at Diadem's comment and Laverna had to feel herself smile. "I like you." An arm snaked out and linked into the elbow of the other woman, pulling her close.

"Well, why do you question it? If you try to figure out everything straight from the start, aren't you going to miss the fun?" Laverna shot her a look. "Go through it once and enjoy the mystery. THEN come back and solve all the riddles. Besides, funhouse of horrors seems to be the running idea."

Crocus kept close to both Acubens and Kiuchi, if something was going to go wrong he'd rather be there to help them out in anyway he could. Speaking of magic, a conversation going on around him, his wasn't particularly useful in a one-on-one fight. At least it was a good enough distraction. "My own magic isn't all that useful really..." How he ended up with Saffron as his power source he'd never know. He didn't particularly care for any flowers, though he had to admit he looked up the flower later on and it was fairly pretty.

The conversation changed than and at first Crocus just laughed quietly to himself. Kiuchi really was a bit shy when it came to these things. Of course, Crocus knew he was dating someone, he had seem them together at the Gala. But when the hooded Senshi (Sinope) seemed to imply that they were actually dating, a blush almost came to his own face.

"Whoa, I care for Kiuchi like a brother. Not that I don't think he's absolutely adorable!" Crocus joked around, surely it was helping to relieve some of the tension in the air from the tight corridor and eerie atmosphere.

Though Remarque had a deep drive and desire to go through the hole in the wall, he stayed behind for a few seconds before he pushed through, himself. He trusted that Laverna and Diadem would try to stay together but there were still more than enough people to worry about. Crocus and Kiuchi seemed like they’d have each other’s back, Sinope and Ptolemaeus and all the other duos or trios he saw made him feel like at least they weren’t going into this alone—they had people who cared about their well-being and wanted them to be okay.

He was glad to see Loke and Kobayashi arrived before he went through and he waved to each of them in greeting.

“I’ve seen a lot of things,” he replied to Loke, “But nothing quite like this. So, let’s hope for the best.”

He nodded gave Lesath one last look, winked at her, and then stepped through the crack in the wall.

He did not proceed with great haste, instead choosing to observe his surroundings as he passed. He didn’t seem to have any difficult moving through the strange hallway.

He hadn’t seen something like this in Mirrorspace before—and he wasn’t going to miss an opportunity to try and learn something about it if he could.

At the key of distress on Kiuchi's voice, Acubens snapped to attention. She must have had her on edge, because it wasn't until she bodily faced the conversation that she realized that she had born her teeth in some primal reaction to whatever danger threatened the smaller man. Was it her surroundings or the last trails of fear still drying against her nerves like ink that made her react so viciously to a danger that she had not even confirmed yet? Not that it mattered. Acubens had gotten fairly effective at masking her emotions, even after she let more than she would have liked slip. Once she recognized that Kiuchi was not in any real danger -- except for that of his pride, of course -- her expression fell easily into bemusement. The expression only deepened as Crocus was forced into the conversation. She had no stock in that particular strain of conversation -- Acubens knew how devoted Kiuchi was to his current boyfriend -- and as long as he and Crocus got along it didn't matter to her how close they got. She nudged her larger student, however, and winked lightly at him if only for the hell of it.

The mention of her book distracted her from her teasing.

"Oh, did I miss a question? Sorry, sometimes I lose track of what I'm doing. Ptolemy, right?" She passed the book to him, careful with the now loosening binding at the spine. "I'm trying to figure out exactly what we are. Remarque has been wildly helpful and I can never even begin to estimate how much of that information is from him. I just want to get it all in one place for new recruits, you know? It's coded right now, or at least the most recent entries are. Which reminds me, I have to give you a key for that code, Mimi."

"My magic seems to make people sick - or at least feel sick..." Like vomiting sick but without actually vomiting, which was good as that would be messy. It was why he didn't like knowing he'd used it on little kids, one being really little. But he at least knew what it did - it was useful. "I'm not sure how it fits into my sphere though."

Staring, wide eyed, he shook his head. "N-no. Someone who isn't dark mirror - a civilian." It seemed he might have misunderstood...or maybe he'd misspoken and given off such an impression. But now he was staring with wide eyes at the hooded dark mirror senshi as he tried to explain.

"Mmm, how are you doing in school anyway?" He asked as he directed his attention, for a moment, to the senshi of clovers. "I've been busy studying for the finals since this is my last year as well." Which somehow meant that everything counted more, as opposed to other years, simply because it was the final year. Whether things actually counted for more - no, they didn't. But to him they did as he didn't want to fail and be left back in his senior year - that would be embarrassing to say the least.

He had been relaxing, stepping out of Crocus' personal space when the other said those words - said he was adorable and he shook his head. "I'm not adorable." His cheeks however were pink, from a light flush, and puffed up like a chipmunks as he finished speaking. Staring right at the blond as he pouted at him. He wasn't adorable - he was just...well himself. He really wasn't sure what to call or label himself as, he didn't like to label himself...he didn't like labels - that was his mother's thing...and her wife's thing...not his.

"Umm...sorry for being so close." For being in his personal space. But the other made a good place to hide his face, and to try and hide his reaction to things - to questions and conversation. He hoped Crocus didn't mind, he didn't seem to, the other was really good to him. He was something like a brother - it was nice. He'd never had a sibling, though he had always sort of wanted one...until recently anyway. Those thoughts however were for another day and another place - not here.

Lesath shook her head, grinning slightly and finding it only slightly amusing that for all her bluster, Acubens had fallen almost immediately, upon entering the hole…though, she had tried to warn the girl, it wasn’t always the best thing to be so gung ho about everything…confidence helped, of course it helped…but being prepared and having a plan helped even more.

She winked at Jett and watched him make his way through, before looking back at the two girls she had brought. “Come on you two, don’t want to be left behind, do you? I’ll meet you in there. Don’t worry. It’s going to be fine. This is nothing.”

And then she was through, looking at the room on the other side with some interest. Not much, but some. “Huh.”

Kibirev honestly had no desire what so ever to go inside of that crack in the wall…the crack that was now a hole…but Lesath made all of this look so easy, so she hesitated and took a few steps into it, and promptly felt herself twist her foot into some kind of hole because of some rocks and…
And this was why she didn’t want to do anything! This was why she didn’t want to explore anything! Why couldn’t…why couldn’t she have just stayed as one of the rear guard or something? She would have had a much, much better time in guarding…the outside of the hole…

…But then what if something were to come out of it? Something that wasn’t the other senshi…

Swallowing, the pastel haired senshi looked at Lovejoy as she breezed by, only stumbling for a second, and shakily, she followed, grabbing the hem of her friends skirt once they were both through

Explore the crack within the mirror?

Well why the heck not.

"Repairs, shmpairs." She muttered to her friend, grabbing hold as they followed the others through. It was scary but she adored scary, so this was quite in fact far more up Lovejoy's alley than her best friend probably approved up.

As she made her way forward, she found herself tripping and stumbling over random objects on the ground. It was peculiar, to say the least, but she was determined to keep going forward and keep up with the other senshi.

She was definitely no rotten egg!

After Kiuchi shared what his magic did Crocus felt it would only be fair if he talked about his a bit more as well. "It's actually funny how ours are a little similar. I give off the smell of saffron. I think it just makes my enemies hungry. Haha. I suppose though, if you're not a fan of the spice it could make you uneasy." Kiuchi moved a little ways away from thim then, as much as one could in such a tight corridor.

He left them to talk about school, glancing over at Acubens soon enough to catch a little wink sent in his direction. He gave her a little on in return. He was thankful that she was there with them, and paying attention as well despite all the interest others had in her journal.

Kiuchi spoke to him again and he chuckled just a bit. "Alright, fair enough." He gave his friend a little pat on the head.
"Don't worry about it, I don't mind sharing my personal space." Crocus had always been an affectionate person, he tended to hang all over his own friends as well.

"Because..." Diadem answered, pride creeping into her tone as she took Laverna's arm. "All this aside, and please don't count that as me disparaging 'all this'... one of these days you're going to turn on the news or open the paper and I am going to be there, reporting. I don't know how, I don't know where, because I will start my own damn channel if I have to, but I'm going to be out there finding out and sharing the truth, and freaking out because it's got a little fog and bad masonry doesn't do any of us any favors. Adrenaline doesn't actually make you into a super attentive terminator combat machine, they've done studies. Override your self preservation instincts? Sometimes... but mostly it's going to give you the shakes and startles."

The mirror at the far end of the corridor rippled; before anyone could try to investigate or step through, the glass suddenly made a loud, splintering noise. Another crack rippled across the surface, fragmenting the mirror’s surface into several large pieces. A loud crashing noise echoed through the hallway and the glass exploded from the mirror’s frame, sending large shards flying through the air towards the hapless Senshi.

On one hand, a new area seems to be exposed—on the other hand, it doesn't do you much good if you’re sliced to shreds.

Quote:
Large glass shards shoot through the air like projectiles and you need to try and stay in one piece! Roll one ten-sided dice to determine how your Senshi progresses!

1-3: Several large chunks of glass soar through the air and are headed straight towards you; you are hit by one with enough force to knock the breath from your lungs. You need a moment to recover.
4-7: A few smaller pieces of glass come flying at you; you were either spared damage because of your time consuming caution or you are hit are either hit by a few shards and need a few seconds to recover.
8 or higher: You make it through the corridor without any issue.

Rank Bonus: Depending on what stage your character has reached, you may add the following bonus to your roll! This bonus will apply for every prompt!

Basic Senshi: 0
Super Senshi: +1
Eternal Senshi: +2
Royal Senshi: +3

Please keep a tally of your total points in bold red at the bottom of your post! If you miss any roll posted before this one, you can make it up, but any late roll will have two points deducted from the number. If you enter the ORP late you can roll for every prompt you miss provided you deduct two points from each roll.

Lasting damage is up to player discretion; the shards may easily cause cuts akin to paper cuts or minor injuries, but no lasting damage will be forced on a player. There are more prompts so taking too much damage now might negatively impact future rolls, however if you would like for your character to take more severe or lasting damage please contact the mule and we will work with you!

When Mimi smiled and turned to answer him, Ptolemy beamed right back. "Is that so? If I'd known about it, I might have offered to assist," he said, intrigued.

The crack and the opening of the corridor had interrupted, then, but he laughed at the girl's comment about Mirrorspace. Leaning over, he put his hand up conspiratorially and whispered, "It's probably just jealous." Then he bowed.

"The pleasure is mine, Mimistobell. Funny to meet someone else with a name as long as four syllables. Do you go by a nickname too, or do you prefer the full one?" Even as he spoke, however, he was moving toward the corridor; not wanting to interrupt the flow of conversation, but not wanting to linger as the rest of their group proceeded, either.

Finding a book being passed to him, the dark-eyed sailor scout accepted it, shaking his head at Acubens' apology to him. "It wasn't anything important," he assured her with a warm smile. "And that's right. As for this book of yours, is this your own personal creation, or did someone else start it? Were you perhaps asked to make it?"

He listened to her reasoning and nodded in agreement. "This is definitely something that seems like this court needs. I've also been really curious about what we are ever since I was woken as a senshi. I also enjoy keeping records of things." Tilting his head, he asked, "Why coded? So non-DMS can't read it?"

"Don't sweat it," Sinope answered the Senshi of Clovers, waving his free hand. "And sure; wouldn't have it any other way." He'd actually been hoping she'd say that so he wouldn't have had to make a fool of himself asking her. He knew he need someone to stick close with; probably more so than Sadalsuud. It was easier on his pride to be the one asked for permission rather than the other way around, though.

"Final yeah, huh? Congrats." Smirking at her, he remarked, "You should come by Romano's more often. Sometimes I hang around there to steal the energy of some jerks in my class. When I first met Avior recently, he'd caught me at it and helped me out."

He chuckled lightly. "You're not allowed to date? Even though you're almost out of high school? Sounds kinda strict."

Not that he knew anything about dating or dating ages, but in high school it seemed people were always claiming boyfriends and girlfriends as if it were a game of musical chairs and the ones caught without someone to call their own were the losers. Not that he particularly minded being a loser in that game. He just hadn't thought there was anyone restricted from playing the game in the first place, especially out of middle school years.

"Aw, come on, don't keep me in suspense, guys!" the redhead pleaded, looking from Sadalsuud to Kiuchi to Crocus. "What are your guys' magic like? I wanna know! And if we're going to end up fighting something here, isn't it a good idea to know each others' skills so we can compose strategies based off one anothers' abilities and how they work together?

"Like you!" he called, turning back in the direction he had seen Laverna last. She'd appeared to have stuck with the shining senshi she'd tried to sneak up on (Diadem). "Don't think I forgot! I still didn't get to hear what your magic does! Or Little Miss Rainbow's, there."

He made a face, having caught snippets of the girls' comments about him as he left, but getting more annoyed with himself than with them. Had he really sounded like he'd been trying to flirt or 'hit on her' or 'pick her up' like other teenage boys his age?

Well, that was their assumption to make, though it hadn't at all been his intention. He wasn't romantically interested in anyone. At least...not that he was currently aware of, and he did his best to be as aware as possible when it came to himself.

The redhead watch the pair of girls increase their proximity, bitterly shaking his head absently at their evident friendship. If only they knew what they were getting into. There was a reason he himself took great pains not to get too close to anyone.

Catching Crocus' mention of his own magic, Sinope turned to answer, "You think yours isn't useful? At least it probably doesn't make your situation worse like mine. Come on, spill it. What's your power?"

Ahhh, and there was the blonde's blush. Funny how out of the two boys and one girl, the boys were the ones who had gotten the most visibly flustered by the suggestions regarding their relationships.

"Alright, I can buy 'adorable little brother'," Sinope admitted. It had not escaped him that Acubens had reacted to Kiuchi's tone, and though she hadn't appeared to have done anything about it, he didn't want to push his luck. He'd had enough fun teasing the more timid-seeming male senshi for now.

His ears perked as Kiuchi finally began to divulge the effects of his magic. "Whoa...neat! Sounds like it'd be useful for discouraging people from beating you up." Brows furrowing, he thought about it. "Hmm...what was your sphere again? Did you say before that it was gorgons?" He'd thought he'd heard the term mentioned and it had seemed to fit the young man's green attire, at least. "Like, as in the creatures from Greek Mythology?" Oh, how he loved history!

"Hehe, relax, I was just messing with you," Sinope told the Senshi of Gorgons with a soft laugh upon seeing his surprise. "I didn't seriously think you were with any of these guys. I know better than to jump to conclusions like that so easily."

Aaand evidently Kiuchi was in his final year as well. "Am I the youngest here or something?" he murmured to himself. He had just finished his first year of high school, so it was odd to hear that everyone else was soon leaving. Oh well; less chance for attachment if he didn't go to school with them.

"Hungry? Oh, because the stuff's used in food?" the Senshi of Slyness asked, mentally noting yet another explained ability. "Huh...I wonder if you can control that to be stronger or weaker. Like you know if someone breathes in a whole lot of cinnamon, it makes them cough? Maybe you could incapacitate them like that."

Heaving a deep sigh, he said, "Mine's still the worst, though. It's actually almost gotten me beat up a couple of times, and that's from White Moon Senshi. I don't even want to think about what would happen if I tried it on a Negaverse agent."

Acubens was about to Answer Ptolemy when the mirror seemed to react to their presence. The crack shattered Acubens nerves like the reflective surface before them and sent them scattering around her. As the glass exploded, Acubens reached for Kiuchi and Crocus and tried to shove them behind her, miraculously emerging unscathed from the explosion

It was trying to kill them. Mirrorspace was trying to kill them; Sinope was fairly certain of this now. But even with everyone present, how were they supposed to fight a whole dimension? If that was even really what this was.

He attempted to yank Sadalsuud down with him, their arms still linked, as he ducked the shards that flew towards them and shut his eyes, not wanting anything to fly in. His expression became grim and he stared at the space beyond the frame. There, beyond the remaining shards of broken glass...was that a new room?

If the glass was going to shatter like that, why even have it there in the first place? Ptolemaeus pondered, dodging to the side so only a few mirror shards nicked him. He glanced around urgently, wondering if anyone else had become more badly injured. Was it Mirrorspace that had caused the mirror to break, or something beyond it trying to push past? He hadn't spent all that much time in Mirrorspace, but he hadn't thought mirrors breaking - especially on their own - was a common occurance.

It was refreshing to meet someone that was willing to give a bow back. Mimi couldn't help but smile some more and laughed at Ptolemy's whisper. "I think the book will be a great resource once it's done. Hopefully there will be a good place to share it. I know Acubens had been thinking of here, but with those cracks... Also, just Mimi works too."

"Oh! There's a code to it now, Acubens?" Mimi didn't make her own codes, but definitely liked learning about them and breaking them. "I'd love to learn that. I'd possibly be up for teaching others too, once I have it down?" It sounded exciting - she never really tried teaching other Dark Mirror Senshi about things.

The ornate mirror grabbed her attention. Something was happening to it? The mirror rippled and shattered, sending pieces of glass in all directions. Mimi quickly covered her face with her arms, hoping that the larger pieces would hurt her arm and the smaller pieces would avoid her eyes. Gladly, only the smaller pieces hit her. She could feel a few pieces on her clothes and some had slightly cut her hands, but no lasting damage. Once the glass shards felt like it was gone, Mimi glanced around, wondering if anyone needed help.

"Is anyone seriously injured? How often do random mirrors shatter here? Does anyone know?" She looked around the room, searching for Remarque. Maybe he would know? It was kind of weird this place was for the DMC but still so unsafe and mysterious for them.
