Garrett wandered through the town listless, coin from his most recent foray in to the worlds outside worlds jingled happily in its pouch but he cared little for the usual cheer that this would bring.
"fruitless as all the others..."
He bitterly berated himself as he continued on his way. While he had been away on a contract to eliminate a pack of heartless, he learned a whispered rumor about the location of a band of armored men in white. Hoping against hope and once the original contract had been satisfied, he set out to find out if there were any substance to rumors. This had led him to only another fight against the forces of darkness that seemed to plague every world. the monsters in this group though had spears and surprisingly, knew how to use them. not that it had mattered to him. He destroyed them to a man, as if they would have surrendered. they were mindless abominations and continued there march forwards until they were dead.
The town had been overjoyed with the destruction of the Heartless and paid him gladly, he had put on his best face, speaking his usual platitudes and making sure to conduct himself as he always did. as a knight and as a gentleman. but now that he was back all he wanted to do was sleep, but that had to wait, his armor, as well made as it was had a gaping rent in it from one of the supernaturally sharp spears from his earlier fight. the blade had missed him but he needed to fix the obvious weakness before going on another mission.
looking up at the sign of Runestone Crafters he knew that he had finally found where he needed to be. stepping up to the door he opened the door and entered taking note of the varied clientele, Garrett waited quietly for a chance to place his order and pass off his armor for repair.

Rune stood up and smiled, before walking over towards the twins. "Welcome to Runestone Crafters. My name is Rune. How may I be of service?" It seemed to her that the girl was just looking around. Taking notice to the next person to walk, she smiled a little more. Rune would be with him once she was finished with the twins. 'Perhaps I should look into hiring people. I can handle myself pretty well, but it would help me handle multiple people at once. Although, all crafting and repairs would be done by me.'
War looked to Rune and began to head towards the door. "If you need me..." He placed a seal with his simple. "Break it and I'll come around." He stepped out and let out a whistle. His horse Ruin galloping up to him. Mounting his steed he rode off.

Riku watched as the tall one left and turned to the young woman that spoke to him."Riku, and that's my sister Ritsu. We both came here from a world where a crystal granted us the ability to use magic. Ever since coming here, our magic hasn't been able to be used. I was hoping that maybe there was something that could replicate the Crystal or help us manifest our magic."He said as Ritsu joined his side.

Ritsu had heard her name and joined her brother as he finished."Well I was gained temporary control when I sang that one song but after that, the magic was rendered useless."Ritsu looked at the girl. She was very pretty. She then noticed another walk in. He looked like he was right out of a story book, a Prince in shining armor almost.
Garrett stepped to the side to allow for the giant of a man to pass. Watching as he rode away on an equally massive horse, Garrett could not help but wonder what they fed him wherever he came from. He could not help the small chuckle that escaped his lips and with a shake of his head to bring him back to the present, Garrett took stock of the other customers and proprietress of the store. A pair of young adults, a few years younger than his own twenty seven years if he had to guess, were currently being assisted with an issue of a magical nature. He smiled slightly at the thought of magic but it also led to a pang of pain shooting through his head, reminding him of just what was missing in his existence. he endured it with all the stoicism that a knight was expected to show. reaching up to run his hand through his hair he noted that the young lady customer had glanced in his direction. giving her a polite nod he continued to wait his turn in line. allowing for his hand to fall back to his side.

Rune listened carefully to everything Riku said, trying to figure out the best solution to their problem. "That would be a major problem. Let me think for a moment." She then looked around the shop and opened up a nearby chest. "This should do the trick." At that moment, she pulled out two sapphire amulets. "They look like sapphires, but you will able to use magic through them. If you want to use them with weapons, all you have to do is attach them to whatever weapon you choose. If they are on your weapons, you will only be able to use magic through them. It will be a while before I get anymore. All you have to do is decide how you want to use magic." Rune hoped that would solve their problem and she could get to the next customer. No matter what happened though, she wouldn't move on until each customer was satisfied.
Riku took one of the sapphires. He held out his hand and thought about his water magic. He felt something, but nothing significant was showing."Well...I think it works....Ritsu?"He handed Ritsu the other and watched her to see if she could conjure something up. He watched her and then listened to her as she spoke and picked up where she left off.As my sister was saying, when the Crystal was taken, our powers almost felt like they were lying dormant inside up. I feel something with the amulet, but it's almost like we have to adjust ourselves to using this to wake our powers."

Ritsu looked back to the conversation."We both have guns that use normal bullets and we've never used magic through them, well not after that one incident, minor ancient history. But to be able to use my light magic again would be nice."Ritsu watched as her brother tried one out, with little success. He then handed her the amulet and she thought about her light magic. She couldn't help but think of the time when Rayne saw her dancing and light surrounded her, faintly, but it was there."I think they might work, but I guess it would take us some time getting used to using our magic through the amulet. The Crystal was very unique. It was almost like a manifest of Aether almost. When the Crystal was taken, just a few moments before we were starting to be chased...."Ritsu fell silent, hoping Rayne was able to get Aiko out of that castle. She listened to her brother taking and listened.

Garrett began to wander through the store perousing the wares and patiently waiting his turn with the woman in charge of the store. He could not help but stop and stare at some of the more...modern weapons and armor. He could understand that technology marches on and he had begun to see the rise of gunpowder in his home but those were clumsy and crude weapons that armor crafted by a master could easily block. These weapons looked...decidedly deadly. Perhaps he could talk to the owner about modernizing his equipment. A modern knight ... the thought appealed.

Rune nodded and put the box away, before turning back to the twins. "It will take some practice to get used to them, but they will do for the time being. If you like, I can put them on chains. You could carry them around as a pendant and still use magic through them. Or I can make them into something else if you like. Take time to think about it and get back to me." She smiled and glanced over at the knight. "I'm going to take care of my other customer and be right back with you. Feel free to continue to look around or have a seat if you like." With that, she walked over towards the knight. 'I should ask them about Rayne. I know that was him out there. They seem like his friends and I'm sure that Artemis would like to hear about this news.'
"Welcome to my shop." She smiled and stopped beside the knight. "My name is Rune. Is there anything in particular that you are looking for?" She took notice to the weapons and armor he was looking at, feeling happy with what she had put together. They had been put together with great care, but they definitely weren't her favorites. "I've spent a lot of time on these pieces, but some details are difficult to get spot on. To be honest, I prefer working on blades rather than guns. Working on a blade is like painting a masterpiece. At least, that's what I believe."

Riku nodded and watched as Rune walked over to the other customer."So Ritsy, shall we give this a try? I mean to be able to use my powers again, it has to be worth a try."He thought about what he would have it as. Maybe on a band that he could put around his wrist. He wouldn't mind wearing that every day, and it wouldn't get in the way of playing instruments."I guess we could. There something else that you want here sister?"

Ritsu was still working on her light magic as her brother responded to Rune. She looked over to him when he spoke to her."Yeah. I willing to give these a try Riky."Ritsu was actually interested in making it a pendant."Riku, can we go eat after this?"Ritsu smiled when her brother said they probably could. She was hungry and she wondered if there was any good places. When her brother asked if there was anything else, she gave the store a once over. She was interested in some of the daggers, but she would put them off for now."Maybe another time."She turned to where Rune was."Rune. When you get the moment, we are ready. No rush to come back to us."
Garrett turned to listen to the proprietress as she introduced herself to him. Giving a polite bow as was proper he began with an introduction of his own.
"Well met Madam. My name is Garrett of Pendraga, I was hoping to find an armor smith with the ability to repair the damage done to my breastplate. It seems that I have found that and more. "
he gestured to the rent in his armor before taking one more appreciative look at the weapons and armor in the shop. Before continuing
"Your skill at the forge is most excellent from what your products show and your dedication to your art is and admirable trait."
Unconsciously he felt the pommel of Caliburn. His sword and partner for many battles along with Gae Bolg. Wincing slightly from his headache, Garrett paused for only a moment to glance over to the other two customers in the shop. Figuring that it would be good for him to get to the point as to not lose Runes business. Though with the second observation, the pair seemed to be rather invested in there charms so he might not have to worry too much.
"Additionally I was hoping you might be able to help me with... modernizing my armor somewhat. The world is a strange place and it would not due to be caught unprepared. I do have coin to cover expenses of course."

Rune smiled and nodded. "Crafting is my passion. And please, call me Rune." She then looked to the armor, taking in every detail. "Thank you. Broken armor definitely would not due. It wouldn't take long for me to fix it. A day or two would get the job done with repairs." At that moment, she became a little lost in thought. It had been a while since she had to work with armor. At the same time, she was thinking about how much supplies she had left. "I would need to get more supplies, but I'm sure that I can take care of everything. Perhaps something lighter, but strong enough to handle attacks. And I'm sure that you would want something that you could easily move around in. The last thing you would want is something that would slow you down."
After a few minutes, Rune had to stop herself. Her rambling wasn't going to get anyone anywhere and she still had other things to deal with. She would always finish her orders, but Rayne was still at the top of her priority list. How could she not help Artemis? "The outcome of a battle could easily be swayed by how fast you are able to move. I'm sorry for rambling on like that. Is there anything else I can do for you?" Looking to Ritsu, she nodded and smiled. 'It's nice to be able to do custom orders. I can get supplies for the armor and start work afterwards. Only a few hours left before I leave here and help out Artemis. I hope Shaline was able to get through to him. And if that truly was Rayne outside the window, then I have to let him know.'
Garrett smiled and listened to Rune as she talked about her craft nodding in agreement with her when she talked about improvements. He could not help but chuckle softly when Rune mentioned that speed could be a deciding factor remembering a line from an old mentor and friend back home.
" I would certainly be interested in hearing more once you have had a chance to lay out plans fully. I must apologize for my outburst earlier, it is just that you reminded me of an old friend, Abbe Faria. He would always say that 'The strongest fighter does not necessarily win, it is speed... speed of hand! Speed of hand and speed of mind.' You and he seem to be of the same school of thought."
Reminiscing for a moment about the old days before all this happened Garrett felt a smile twist up on his face before a question lanced through his mind.
" You mentioned gathering supplies. Would that entail work that leads outside the city? If so, might I be so bold as to offer my services? I am well versed in the ways of combat and would be able to provide an additional pair of hands to any task."
Thinking on the subject Garrett began to catalogue what would be required if Rune agreed to his offer. He would not wear his full plate but that did not mean he was defenseless, not by a long shot. Abbe made a point to drill certain skills in to his head and he was sure that they would never leave him until death took him.

Rune giggled a little and pulled out her blades. "Out of everything I've created, these blades are my favorite. I was just a kid when I crafted them. It was then that I realized that I had talent for it. Even though I can't remember my past, I still remember everything I've made over the years. Something has always seemed to draw me into crafting." Rune always knew that it took more than strength to win a battle. The most important thing to have is heart and it was something that she always believed. She figured that one day, all her questions would be answered. For now at least, she would stick to her craft.
"This friend of yours sounds very wise. Speed is important, but you still need the heart and will to keep going. A true warrior must able to protect those that can't protect themselves. Not everyone is a great fighter. That's why the academy was created." When asked if she needed help, she simply smiled and nodded. "I normally gather all the supplies myself, but I wouldn't mind having some company. All I have to do is finish up here and close shop. I can't leave until everyone is taken care of."
Garrett continued to enjoy the conversation smiling at Runes perspective of a warrior but blinked in a moment of confusion, could not help but ask.
"Academy?"
The question was more to himself than anyone else though and he quickly returned to the current discussion. he chuckled when she stated that she would finish up with her current customers. with a shewing motion of his hand and a smile back on his face he said.
"Dont let me keep you from them then. Shall I wait here or is there somewhere you would want to meet up?"
