Jada Chamberlyn (Outfit, Hair)

Jada's lips quirked at the blonde man in patient humor, her eyes drifting over him before going back to her ward, who was already attracting her first patient soul. Bless that boy- Jada gave Giulia a small nod to allow her to dance before shifting her attention back so Steele. "I must say, Mr. Moore, you have a very interesting name."

And an interesting way of going overboard that amused her, and she didn't pull her hand away from his grand gesture and polite peck. At least he hadn't slobbered and slathered all over it like some people might have. Jada tilted her head to consider him for a moment.

Trying to tamp down on the humor playing around her bright red lips, she decided to tease the man a little. "Well," she told him dryly, "I'm here because I received a lovely invitation. Presumably, you owe the privilege of my company to the gracious invitation of Dr. Ian Hadly and the Board of Directors."

As she shifted her weight, Jada felt herself bump into someone who was scooting past her to get to the drinks. "Oh!" she exclaimed, and turned to briefly split her attention from the (charming) blonde to the other young man. "Are you okay?"

Trey Cameron - Suit

The glass Trey held in his hand was not alcoholic, though part of him wished it was. Two more years yet, before he could soften the edges of large parties like this with alcohol. A soft smile kept almost permanent residence on his face, carefully crafted, as he listened to a vapid young designer go on about her latest project in college.

It wasn't that he was disinterested in her work, but the way she went on about it, going so far as to suggest similarities with Joellen Faure-Cameron herself... he was pretty sure the young lady was more interested in his esteemed mother than himself, and was only looking for an introduction to the elegant lady dressed to the nines where she held audience not far away. Telling her the photos she showed him on her phone lacked originality and any sort of interesting flare would have been rude... but that didn't mean he wasn't thinking it really hard as he nodded along and smiled, offering appreciative hums where necessary.

The sizeable donation Joellen had made to the hospital had guaranteed them tickets to the gala, and of course he had had to accompany her. Anyone who was anyone was sure to be here, and even without, there was a parade of colors and styles floating by, from thrift store finds revitalized by clever diy-ers to made-for-them, never-seen-a-rack designer pieces. It was a good way to get a view of what people were gravitating towards, if nothing else.

"Lovely." Trey murmured before he straightened, signaling the end of the one-sided conversation. "I'm sorry, but if you'll excuse me, I need to make my rounds. Joellen would be disappointed in me if I don't make the aquaintance of as many people as possible. This is a golden networking opportunity, you understand, Olivia."

He pulled her name smoothly from his memory as he took her hand and bowed his head over it, the silken braid slipping down his shoulder.

"I hope your finals go well. I look forward to seeing your pieces hitting the runway soon." He said before he made a grateful break and slid smoothly between the groups of milling people. A gulp of his sparkling juice soothed his throat and he sighed as he set about looking for his next obligatory social meeting. Maybe if he was lucky, it would be someone actually interesting for a bit.

Austen Stella Rue ( dress )

Austen's dress was a multilayered, multicolored thing of beauty and she was extremely pleased with it.

She was also extremely pleased with everything about the gala, in spite of her cousin's warnings that it wasn't going to be that exciting. But it was Austen's first real event here in Destiny City, and she was undeniably thrilled to be a part of anything, if she was perfectly honest.

She sashayed past the front doors, tattoos displayed in all their glory across her arms, the dress sleeveless for a reason. Austen fluttered a wave in Fritz's direction, but kept going, because he was busy with someone else, and she didn't really want to stand still to talk, if she could help it.

There was a blue haired girl that looked interesting enough. Austen swung past her and came to a stop, grinning broadly.

" 'allo," she said brightly, her accent as strong as Fritz's was. "What's your name? I'm Austen," she added, and thrust out a hand.

Archer Wren ( outfit )

He had come for one reason, and one reason only, and that was observance.

It was extremely rare for Wolfeite to take on his civilian glamour these days, because other than making sure that his recruit was doing what he was supposed to be doing, and also checking on Lorne, there was little reason for him to power down. The three hour glamour limit meant that he had a tight leash anyway when it came to what he could feasibly do within the time allotted to him, but he did what he always did - take as much advantage of it as he could.

He stood now, in an entirely black suit fitted perfectly, along with a black turtleneck sweater to accompany it, wearing an expression that suggested a mixture of calm disdain and muted interest all at the same time. Archer's eyes swept the crowds, curiosity and the adrenaline of a chase always sliding through his veins like a nerve ending undone, making him feel tense and on edge, itching to do more than just stand there.

A gloved hand reached into his pocket, pulled out a phone, and held it up, Archer tapping in a message. Both were continuing conversations, not that Archer was particularly keen on conversing much as it was, and he had no idea where either of them were. But it gave him something to do, other than stand here and be aggravated that he couldn't just sink his teeth into everything and everyone.

Adrien Davids ( outfit )

He was probably more excited about being here than he should have been, but Adrien was a lover of both a good party and good food - and, more importantly, good dancing, and a good partner to do all of these things with. The last time Adrien had been to a party - a formal party that had not involved drinking beer out of hats - had been when he'd first opened his salon.

It felt fantastic to get to be all dolled up again, everything shiny and new and perfectly tailored so that the white, flowered suit fit Adrien like a glove. He kept smoothing his and up and down his jacket to make sure that it fell right, Adrien turning to face the young man beside him.

Who was, he knew, probably anxious as all get out, but that was why Adrien was still holding his hand.

"Are you okay?" he asked brightly, smiling at Yuuri. "I told you, you look great."

Basil Whybourne ( outfit )

If Basil could have just avoided social gatherings altogether, he would have.

Most unfortunately for him, his job required him to be at least sort of active - sort of being the key phrases. Basil could have done without all of the glitz and the glamour quite happily, but the company he worked for had been involved in the audio and visual setup of the gala, which, sadly, meant that Basil at least had to put in one appearance.

One. That was it. He'd get a drink - nonalcoholic, unfortunately, because he was in public and under the age of twenty one, which was disappointing - he'd walk around and try to avoid everyone, and then, after a certain amount of time had passed, he'd get the hell out of dodge.

Basil slunk around a corner and promptly stood there, awkwardly, holding his glass of not-champagne and wishing he was anywhere else but here.

Mathias White

Mathias chuckled and shook his head in response to her statement. "Alright, I suppose that is fair enough. I think you would probably kill half the guys at the gym if they saw you right now anyway, so maybe it is the best you get an outlet here instead of elsewhere."

He did not mind being dragged toward the table, and allowed himself to be steered. After all, if he managed to get her in a situation she found enjoyable, that fulfilled his own personal requirement to seeing his fellow officer's needs met. If in a strange - roundabout sort of way.

A polite nod was given to Andrew, but a slightly more polite bow was given to Ariel as Shahar introduced herself. Color him old fashioned if you must, but Mathias had been raised to give women a bit more deference.

"Mr. Collins, Ms. Mishnah," He said, as Ariel introduce herself and her male companion. "It's quite the enjoyable party, yes, through I'll be the first to admit that they are not things I often attend."

Allowing Shahar to turn her full attention to Ariel for the moment, his own focused on Andrew. "I am curious, are there any plans for an portion of the hospital to focus on sports medicine? I manage and coach a stable of Mixed Martial Artists and it would be... beneficial... if I could have them all cared for in one place. In fact, Ms. Shahar here is quite the accomplished fighter herself." He gave a small smirk. "I'm rather hopeful she might be entering the professional circuit soon."

Of course this was said loud enough for Shahar to hear. He had plans - plans he hoped that she would be more than happy to ride along with.

Mercy Hanyes - Dress

Mercy smiled to Gwen and gave a small, one handed curtsy. "Mercy Haynes," She said with a nod before taking another sip of her water. "And I am glad that things aren't bothersome for you. It was a very... fraught situation."

One she knew was likely going to be repeated until the war was over - but this wasn't the place or time to muse about such things. Shaking her head to clear away the dark clouds she let out a sigh. "Oh I'm sure she was probably busy. Or she might be coming later, who knows?" She added with a shrug.

But it was still curious as to why he was here alone. She didn't think that the gym was making that much money yet, was it? Or maybe he'd gone in along with Delilah's parents? Had they donated? She didn't know - and hadn't bothered to ask Delilah because she wasn't even sure if Delilah had wanted to come or was going to show. Fundraiser Gala's tended to cater more to the higher end of the income spectrum, but this one seemed to... well... break the mold in that respect as far as she could tell.

Still - it was hard to say. She knew that Mathias lived comfortably, so while it was a surprise to see him here... She shrugged a bit, and then winced a little at the small tell-tale ache in her lower back. Covering it up with a sip of water as best she could.

"Soo... Do you have a date or...?" She asked as she eyed the dance floor, curious in that way only a teenager could be.

[Arin Aldrik] (outfit)

"I was looking for something effortless. You see it happen in movies all the time-- Good looking guy at a fancy party, standing alone in a nicely fitted suit. He looks bored and reaches for a flute of something, presumably champagne, as a tray passes by and as he takes a sip he makes eye contact with someone across the room. They spend all night trying to find more information out about each other without actually saying a word to one another and... Ow!" He laughed as he received an elbow to the side from the other man. Despite Lucien's best efforts he could see a bit of amusement in the other man's eyes-- Annoyed, sure, but amused just the same.

"Get any good pictures tonight? There's a lot of finely dressed people here... Don't suppose there's any way I could convince you to let me take this tie off, is there?" He'd tried to loosen it on the car ride over, but Luc had only tightened it back up before they'd made their way inside. "Are you having a good night?"

[Cordelia Carden] (outfit)

"Never?" There had been a time where Cordelia Carden had lived for events like this. She had jumped at each and every opportunity to attend galas and benefit dinners with her mother and father, and eventually with friends once she'd reached the point of being old enough to go on her own. Sometimes she forgot that Fritz had never known that Cordelia-- that the only Cordelia he knew was the young woman who curled up on couches with her hair swept up in a messy pile, loose sweater sliding off of her shoulder and leggings. Fritz knew the Cordelia who wore glasses when her eyes were too tired to see with her contacts on. He knew the Cordelia who hadn't cared about fancy dresses or A-lists in years.

Suddenly she felt incredibly self conscious and she stepped back just as he pulled away without even realizing that he had moved closer. Her fingers curled against her clutch, pulse thrumming in her fingertips just as it pounded in her chest. Her dress was so simple, she hadn't done anything with her hair, her makeup...

Beautiful.

Fritz had called her beautiful.

"I..." Crystal blue eyes lifted to look at him; to look at his face and tune out everything that wasn't him. It was easier to think that way-- easier to breathe. She smiled as she shifted on her feet, standing a bit taller. "It's been slow to start, if we're being honest, but I'm enjoying it. More so now that I've such a charming, handsome gentleman to keep me company... Even if I've a feeling he's trying to flatter me."

Ildri Lacole - Dressed like a (penguin) waitress.

How the hell she let herself get pulled into this mess was beyond her. In fact, she should have flat out refused Cinnabar when the half-youma had bothered to finally talk to her again after transferring her to a new General. It would have served her ex-general right after all, but nope. In a fit of odd generosity she had agreed to the arrangement. Well, and having a hand in such an affair would get her on better terms with higher-ups of the negaverse.

Hey, a girl had to look out for number 1, and number 1 had plans for the future.

Tray in hand, the white-haired young woman balanced a tray in her hand. Thankfully she hadn’t been ladened with drinks, which she surely would have spilt, but with orderves. The little crackers with garlic may, fresh cucumber and dill sprig on top looked fancy enough and definitely were rather tasty. She’d helped herself to a few now and then when boredom set in as she stood around waiting for someone to help her empty the tray so she could hide in the kitchen for a ********. These things are worse working them than attending them.” She commented under her breath as she watched people mill around, talk, network, and dance.

Oh it was going to be a long a** night.

Ignacio Araya

Galas weren't necessarily Ignacio's favorite thing. The attention and socialization could be fun, when he was in the right mood for it. The food was great. Sometimes the inevitable speeches were interesting, and hell, even the dancing could be fun when it wasn't slow dances.

He hated the dress code usually associated with galas, though.

His agent told him that he had to, at the very least, be formal-looking. This was a public appearance for Ignacio, after all. It was quite likely that someone with a camera would spot him. So he cooperated. He wore a nice pair of black slacks and something like a red lounge sweater of a top, tied closed in the middle. There was no tie, of course, but it was close enough.

And he was comfortable and not in a stiff suitcoat, and that was the important part to Ignacio, anyway.

There seemed to be plenty of people there already, and as a bonus, he didn't immediately see anyone running around with a camera, which was a relief. Ignacio didn't really want to duck cameras today. He was much more interested in seeing what kind of food they had out at that buffet that had been mentioned. That was the area he made a beeline to, first.

Gweneth Malley - Dress

As her companion continued on with the conversation, it became apparent to Gwen than the teen was very much into gossiping. She wanted to know the details about everyone’s lives and why they did things. Gossip had never been much of a talent of Gwen’s. In fact, she much preferred not to partake in such conversations much as she could never really tell if what she was being told was true or not. That was the problem with gossip, things had a tendency to be twisted, omitted and altered to suit the storyteller.

To tell the truth, Gwen felt a little bad that Mathias was the subject at hand. The poor man was probably just out networking. The lack of his girlfriend didn’t really bother her. Whatever happened in their personal lives was just that, their personal lives.

Ah well, she’d have to tolerate the gossiping for now. It was at least better than self wallowing in her anxiety and negative thoughts.

“Oh, um. No, I don’t have a date.” She said, taking a rather big gulp of her wine as she said that. “I came alone tonight.” she stated with a tight smile. This was not a topic she wanted to get into. Was there a way out? A quick glanced proved there was no one nearby she could excuse herself to go meet and really, that would only work with someone she knew. Perhaps there was a kind and non-rude way to ask the teen to drop the subject?

She eyes the girl. Chances of Mercy dropping the topic seemed unlikely.

Maybe her colder disposition since the topic change would suffice? The older red-head could only hope as she worked to finish her glass of wine and turned to gather herself up another glass, leaving the empty in it’s place.

Caleb didn’t really…do dances and things like that, but Xi had vaguely mentioned that he would be attending, so after spending some time in the lab, he made his way to the new hospital too…he was supposed to have attended the CPR class earlier but…things had gotten a little out of hand so he had missed it, and he was quite sure that Xi didn’t even know he was coming…so this would be a nice surprise.

The moment Caleb entered the gala, however…he realized that he was severely under dressed, with his dark wash jeans and a crisp dress shirt…and…for a moment he thought of just turning and walking back out again, but then he saw Xi…and nothing really mattered after that.

Quickly he made his way over, grinning, his eyes only on the dark haired boy that had captured his heart and slipped a hand into his. “Hey you. I made it.”
Even if he was underdressed, this is why he came…so he would enjoy the gala…even if it was a little silly. “Are you having fun?”

Glancing at the other male that Xi-Wang was talking to, Caleb held out his free hand. “Hey there. I’m Caleb! Nice to meet you…God, everyone’s so dressed up…I really should have prepared better for this.”

Mercy Haynes - Dress

Oops.

Mercy could almost feel the temperature of their vicinity drop as the smile grew tight and the wine began to be gulped. That was an obvious nerve she'd just nailed hard with a hammer. Her own cheery demeanor faltered a bit, the smile thinning as she suddenly found the bottom of her half-empty water quite interesting.

"Oh... I mean - I'm here with my parents so it's not like... Never mind. That was a really rude question of me, I apologize." She said, still keeping her eyes cast down on the cup.

"So, uhm... do you dance?" She asked then, looking up from the glass with a small, slightly warmer smile - as if extending a hopeful olive branch. "It could be fun, I mean - if you don't mind a female partner."

That and Mercy RARELY got to dance at the things since most of the boys her age at them were so bloody handsy she didn't want to bother.

Jason McClayre Jr.

The water certainly was refreshing after the dancing. They might not have been at it for too long, but it was still hard work. Until recently, he wasn't the most active person in the world. Sure, he mostly got around the city by walking, but that was really all the exercise he ever got. he sat the now empty cup down as he scanned the room with Rhona, mostly checking to see if his father was still about somewhere. He hated his eyes on him all the time at events like these.

When Rhona leaned in to whisper something he leaned down just a bit as, to make things a little easier for her. His eyes followed where she had waved and he got a good look at the gentleman in green. He was some good eye-candy in that attire. Honestly, he was a little surprised that Rhona said he was one of her students. It was crazy to think that any number of the people around them could be hiding a double life. "That would be nice." Jason honestly would like to know someone more his own level, new to all of this. Well, not as new as he was obviously though.

His head popped up instantly when he heard a very familiar voice calling out his name. "Kailey~!" He leaned down for her, already knowing her intention. He rolled his eyes a bit at the mention of his Dad. "I've already been through the rounds with him once. Trying to avoid that for a second time." He chuckled a bit at her comment about the traffic. It had been a bit hectic trying to get in here.

He quite readily took the drink from Kailey's hands when she offered it to him. A few thoughts crossed his mind as he did so though; His father could be watching from somewhere, maybe Rhona might judge him a bit for drinking underage, and well old habit were old habits. He took just a tiny sip of it, really he swears it was tiny, but passing it back to Kailey after the introductions had been made. He was glad Phona was able to explain at least a little bit on how they knew each other. He wasn't sure what he would have told Kailey, they knew a lot of the same.

Wait a second, Kailey had just handed him alcohol. She wasn't old enough to drink! No...no wait. What was today's date? "Oh. My. God. I missed your Birthday! I didn't even text you or anything! I'm so, so, soooo sorry!" He had had a lot on his mind recently, but to forget his best friends Birthday? That was a bit of a heavy blow. He looked at her with puppy-dog eyes. "I'll make it up to you." He looked over at Rhona, would she feel awkward if she spent time with them? He didn't want this to be awkward for her, but it had been awhile since he'd seen Kailey and he was getting to spend a lot of time with Rhona lately. Of course, he didn't want to offend Rhona at all and wasn't sure if she knew too many other people here.

"What? You think I'm not man enough to court two ladies around?" He gave Rhona a friendly squeeze around her shoulders and of course his classic wink in Kailey's direction. This was probably, no definitely, a side of him Rhona wasn't used to seeing. And no, that alcohol did not go to his head already.

Bellatrix wasn’t really hungry, but when she looked at Rob, she was quite thirsty, and that thought alone made her pale cheeks redden and she had to look away from those drop dead gorgeous eyes for what felt like the fifteenth time that night. She felt like a princess with the outfit that she picked out. Blue wasn’t normally her color…but she liked it. At worked for tonight, and she felt more like Cinderella than she cared to admit…which was really, really nice.

Every moment with Rob was really, really nice.

Finally, when she had found her voice again and wasn’t going to say something foolish, the woman laughed. “I’m not so hungry right now…would you want to dance, maybe? I’ve…I mean, not to sound childish or anything, and me being an event planner you would think I’ve been to dances like this but I’ve never had a date so…”

She was rambling and her cheeks were growing even redder as she spoke. She sounded like a fool. But she was a happy fool.

Isaac Harrison

Only when Julie made mention of ‘old folks’ did Isaac suppress a laugh behind her. While he knew she did not mean it in an insulting way it still made him chuckle beneath his breath. However, it was at the mention of dancing that he finished off his cider and set the flute down on the table beside him.

While definitely not known for his prowess on the dance floor he was at least familiar with a few dances, most notably those of the slow nature. Either way, this was a gala, and he was not about to allow his lack of skill keep him from enjoying the evening with Julie by standing around like a chaperone. Even though she was in part here to oversee the event, she was also permitted to have a good time.

Stepping towards her, Isaac placed his hand on the small of her back and leaned in close enough for her to hear him speak. “I’m glad to see your enjoying yourself.” The sincerity of his words shown in his expression. “However,” he paused for a brief moment. “I don’t suppose I could steal you away for a few minutes? The dance floor seems a bit empty.” Kind of, there were plenty of people standing or swaying in place while chatting amongst friends or acquaintances.

A glass of champagne and he was already like this? Gods alive, if Jason had seen Rhona even a week earlier than he had met her, she would have given him a run for his money. Of course she'd judge him for this -- not the underage drinking, but rather the inability to hold any semblance of liquor. She could see Momma was going to have to up his tolerance if he was going to run with her. But she sighed affectionately and nudged him when he boasted about his ability to keep two women entertained at once. The implications did not escape her, of course, and turned her scoff into an outright laugh.

"Jason, love, I have had your undivided attention for some time now. Who am I to come between old friends!" She grinned genuinely at Kailey, time soothing her unnecessarily ruffled feathers back into place. Who knew, even. Maybe someone else she knew would pop up and occupy her. But she also was not eager to leave both of her wards unattended... just in case. That strange maternal instinct reared its head and Rhona had literally no idea where it came from, but she had a hell of a time denying it.

"So I guess it's up to you, Kailey. What do you think? Can you take this big lug alone, or do you need back up?" She slugged Jason gently in the shoulder for extra effect.

Chase Black

Chase Black was no stranger to events such as this gala. He'd grown up with a mother who's specialties was galas and charity events; he had been bred and raised for such things and no time away from proper civilization could truly strip him of the knowledge and experience of how to go about such things.

Perhaps that was why, despite Lara being dead for over six months, Chase Black had still received an invitation anyway and he'd allowed himself to be talked into the affair by his girlfriend who was insistent that they not pass up on an excuse to get dolled up and be shown off. After everything she had to put up with, from nursing him back to better strength and dealing, incredibly well, with his shifts.

The concealer hid just about everything that gave away what happened behind closed doors.

Except the one that peeked out from beneath cotton candy strands. Whiskey eyes were able to pinpoint it effortlessly because he knew it was there and how much she enjoyed receiving it.

All and all, after a shopping trip with Prissy, Chase had cleaned up nicely. His hair was styled in it's usual fauxhawk, the pink fresh and vibrant, and his face was clean shaven exposing his sharp jawline. The suit he wore was dark, the button up a shade of gray that allowed the pink of the tie Prissy had bought him when he'd first returned to pop. Beneath the suit jacket were pink suspenders that matched his date's dress.

Frankly, the heir to the Black fortune thought that he and Priscilla were the best dressed around. With was aptly appropriate as it was his first proper venture back into society now that some of his...wilder tendencies had been reigned in enough to appropriate for large public gathers. So long as mysterious senshi didn't start popping up. Though he wasn't terribly worried about that.

"If you want a drink right now, you'll have to fetch it yourself," Chase replied, glancing at the woman attached to his arm from the corner of his eye. "Unless you want me to leave you when we just got here. How am I supposed to show you off if you're sending me on drink runs suited for the wait staff?" Surely someone would come round soon enough with champagne flutes or they could grab something later. If he flattered her enough perhaps she'd drop the notion completely.

In truth, he wasn't sure he was ready to be left to the wolves, golden-eyed gaze sweeping across the area until they settled on a man with blue eyes and purple hair that faded into blue. Chase recognized him, a child of a socialite no doubt, but he couldn't place him.

"This is my first event since I returned and my mother died, you know they'll be talking about us."

Even dressed to the nines, Chase felt uncomfortable in his suit, the buzz of chaos strong beneath his skin.
