 Flame Lily looks at the buck holding the bowl of liquid. Not wanting to be rude she takes a sip. Instantly she starts coughing, sending the liquid up her nose. Oh how it burns. "Th..thank you sir...." she backs away from the buck.

Fire Lily is absolutely shocked and mystified by the strange coughing sensation the drink has, and the after flavor is just fantastic; she can't stop bugging him for answers! How did he make it? Did he ever drink too much of his own stock? How did he NOT drink it all before getting to the Winter Market??? So many questions and mysteries. She hopes she can bring a little bit home in a turtle shell before the event is over. o3o

Okay is Wonderful hoped that this buck didn't recognize her, but she was a bit curious whether his recipe had improved. It did go down the throat easier, but, ah - why did her eye keep...blinking?

"Hurry up," Cue rasped; when Near acquiesced, she downed it in one gulp, sighed in satisfaction, and said, "Thanks," trotting off without waiting for a token (which was good, since he wasn't going to give her one).
As far as Cue was concerned, the day never started before her morning Coughing.

Darkness Calls spots the strange interaction and decides to check it out for himself. He gulps the liquid in one go, then stands there. "Is something supposed to happen? I don't feel any different." He shrugs.

The Coughing brew was starting to grow on her - the first taste was quite refreshing, but upon the second, it rose up her impressive throat. Much to the chagrin of a singer, she went "hic." And did not stop. She drank more, but the hiccups refused to go away. Not the best start to a day, in the end...

EJB returned even more triumphantly than the days prior and sat herself down next to Nearly Beloved. She downed her sample without skipping a beat and flashed him the brightest grin.
"Want to know my secret, eh?" She laughed, noticing his disappointed expression. "I just finished a bushel of sweet berries! Really takes the edge off! Still gives me the jitters, though. But if that's all it does, it's no bother to me!"
This time, instead of trying to wind a tale for the buck and the rest of the participants who came around, EJB left the booth and returned shortly after with a turtle shell of sweet berries. She placed the berries next to the brew and bowed her head.
"Thanks for all the samples, and for listening to me. I hope you'll accept these as a gift." She said, offering him a smile. "If not, just keep 'em for kin who want them. It might help them out. Take care for now, and have a safe season!"Quote: 7. Little Lady felt like this was perfect for someone like her. She often liked to indulge in sweet scented liquids, and while this one lacked the sweetness she was used to, it was worth a shot. So, it was rather alarming when, instead, the brew left a bitter taste in her mouth, causing her to gasp mid swallow. This was a horrible idea, violent coughs racking through her body as she sputtered and gasped. It seemed to amuse Nearly Beloved.... at least.
6. The bitter brew has completely travelled down your throat the wrong way and it feels like you're going to hack a lung out. This pleases Nearly Beloved, to the point of an almost genuine smile. 3 tokens!

Maybe a nice drink wouldn't be so bad, especially in the cold. Low Tide was willing to give it a try - but unfortunately, the taste almost immediately made her cough and sputter. So bitter! So strange! She was glad to take the offered token, but she made a note - don't come back for more of that stuff!
