Hey, it was something to do, and looking for freshlings would help him find Erion. He picked up the box and looked around. "Sank goodness ve don't have a cannon right now," he grumbled. That's about all they'd need right now--an airsoft cannon firing plushies into the air. No, they needed to get these to kids as emergency gifts. "I sink zat zis is a good idea," he added. "How long have you been prepared for zis?"

But what Annabelle said next warmed Kuni's heart, and he looked down at the box of new plushies. His face felt hot and his eyes stung. When was the last time he'd been thanked for doing something? When was the last time he'd been thanked so sincerely?

When was the last time he'd done something worth thanking him for, truly, deeply thanking him for? Kuni couldn't look the head caretaker in the face. He wasn't doing this--he hadn't volunteered for this--because he'd wanted the freshlings to be happy. He'd done it because...well, because he wanted them to shut up. That changed now, though. Now...now he wanted to do this because it would make people feel better. Himself, for example. "I'll get to vork," he muttered, and set out.

A thought occurred to him, and he turned to Annabelle again. "Oh, a junior named Eilwen is looking for her little brozer, Erion. He's a vhite und light blue Chimera in a dinosaur vunsie. If you see him, please tell him zat his sister is ze one holding a yellow Fennekit zat is barking its head off." Indeed, he could hear Mushroom's frantic yips from the other side of the room!

With the box in his arms, he looked around for a freshling. He spotted a hybrid sitting on the floor with a book and headed over to them. "Here," he said, offering them a plushie. "Zis is for you. Ve can't go back to our rooms for a vhile to get our stuff, so..." Oh man, how did you do this? How did you talk to a freshling?! "So...zis is your new friend for ze night." Hopefully that would do...

Enomu watched and listened, and felt more fear than he had felt in a long time. He clutched his mother's necklace under his clothes and let out a soft whimper before silencing himself. Zombies. Actual zombies. They weren't supposed to be real, only stories. Eating living flesh, coming for them. Coming for him. They were going to eat him for what he'd done!

He curled up on the floor, still clutching the necklace. The monsters were coming for him, just like he deserved. They were going to eat everyone, and save the bad ones for last. Bad ones like him. Murderers like him. Maybe he'd become one of them, and be a monster too. He pulled his sweater up over his head and hid, as if by not being able to see, the people eaters wouldn't see him either.

Enomu noticed the soft tail first and then heard the words. It took him several moments to connect the two and he slowly unturtled to look up at the blazingly pink imp that had sat beside him and offered his tail. No one had ever tried to comfort him before, not like this, not since his parents....but no, he wouldn't think about that. It would only bring the people eaters sooner and then everyone would die.

He slowly unclenched his fingers from around his mother's necklace and took hold of the offered tail instead. Soft, like a comforting object should be. Much pinker than Enomu would have chosen, but of course this wasn't a stuffed toy, this was an actual person's body part. He'd never touched an imp's tail before, and he found it very soft indeed. He wanted a stuffed toy that felt like this tail.

The stranger, Enomu realized, had introduced himself. Normally he ignored others, and normally it was easy to do so, but he was so afraid! "Enomu." He intoned. "My name is Enomu."

He should have known something was going to go wrong. Ever since he had taken over the family something always happened whenever he tried to have a normal day with his blood related relatives. Sure they had run into those... irresponsible children and ended up in a Mini riot but he thought, or well he hoped that would be the end of it. The bad luck would have just been happy at that. No it was about to get worse, totally worse. He had been practically marched into the school auditorium and been told everyone was in a state of emergency?

Even worse in the shuffle he had briefly lost Kingston and to his complete and utter horror he had been separated from Mai and Ren. He knew that the two of them had to be together, or that if Ren knew what was good for him the two would be together, but Vanna was paranoid and he wanted his sister in front of him where he could see her. Still he knew how serious the school took the safety of their students and he knew Mai was somewhere in the mass of people. She would be safe.

However he wasn’t just responsible for Mai. He ran a family and he wasn’t there to be their leader. He was trapped at the academy. Turning on his phone Vanna watched as it was suddenly bombarded with messages and missed calls. He quickly answered them and gave practically free reign to Yami. It wasn’t the first disaster they had gone through and his boys where tough. Yami would wrangle them while he was elsewhere. Vanna looked up at Kingston’s call and raised a finger to get Kingston to wait as he finished his phone call before stuffing his phone in his back pocket.

“Mentally… not so okay. I’m barely keeping my temper in check. They got a bit overzealous when getting us here and I have no idea where Ren or Mai is. They aren’t answering their cellphone either. I can’t even get a hold of Eilwen either” he left the whole not being near his 'other' family.

It was then he heard Eilwen’s voice as she called out for her little brother… He moved to go over to where he heard her but Kingston had grabbed his arm and started dragging him off. Vanna had half a second of pondering where to plant his feet but caved and let the grimm man handle him over towards a crying junior.

Still that didn't mean that he couldn't at least get one sibling to where he could see them. Seeing as Kingston had the comforting down he turned towards where he was pretty sure he had heard Eilwen.

"Eilwen!"

Aedus nodded to Niamh when she gushed her thanks to him once again as if he wouldn't take care of her. He still hadn't figured out why he felt so protective of Nia but it was there and Aedus would follow his instincts. Aedus opened his own that were chocolate chip and offered to trade with Nia he didn't like pretty much anyone else except Nia. When she ate her cookies anyway, Aedus just shrugged and ate his cookies quietly. Aedus looked at Kappa in a considering fashion trying to decide if he wanted to be nice to the guy or let Nia cover that. Aedus cocked his eyebrow at Nia "What the heck are we going to play it's not like we can play anything that involves movement." Aedus said logically "What about cards??"

Aedus shrugged at Kappa and then said "I went back to my dorm for a while because I got pissed trying to win familiars, kept winning plushies instead and couldn't figure out what to do with them till I thought to call Nia." Aedus shrugged it supposed the festival was fun, he had found one familiar and Niamh had given him a really cute flitterrat. So it wasn't all bad. Aedus didn't really like Nia going off without him, but he couldn't put the little fey on a leash so he let her go for the moment. Then when Nia came back he looked at the game she had picked of course it would be game of life, oh well. Aedus would humor her. He waited for her to set up the game and Kappa to take his turn.

Aedus waited and then noticed that Kappa seemed to be waiting for him to do something so Aedus grabbed a blue game piece. Then waited for his turn. Aedus then waited for Niamh to go figuring he could go last, unless Nia told him to go next.

"Sorry to hear your evening wasn't going so well," Ruby said, a bit distracted. She contemplated the dry cigarette, still between two of her fingers. She had an urge to put it in her mouth, lit or not. The Fallen had to admit that she was pretty nervous. It wasn't like her to get all antsy like this. She pulled out the package the cigarette came in and stuffed it between its brothers. Developing a nervous habit was just as bad as harboring a nasty one, she figured.

"Rica..." she repeated the goblin's name, trying it out for size. Her cerulean eyes grazed over the other girl's body. Well, she was cute. A little spark of light amidst the dark tendrils that seemed to have slowly filled the room, affecting everyone around. With just a cursory glance, Ruby could tell there were lots of kids panicking, being comforted by classmates and even strangers. But here was Rica, giving her compliments and cookies. Maybe a bit of flirtation would help to take both of their minds off the situation.

Ruby smiled as casually as she could, shifting her weight to face Rica a little better. Her voice took a more confident tone than it had just a second before. "It's nice to meet you. I like your outfit, too. Are you supposed to be dressed as something?" If she wasn't, it certainly wouldn't be a bad thing. She looked good either way. There were so many different Haunted Hallows traditions, especially as new races came out of the woodworks, it was sometimes hard for Ruby to keep track of who did what.

She settled in to play their game, belly on the ground and propping herself up on her elbows. She was well aware that she probably looked ridiculous in her princess dress, but what was she going to do? "Oh, Kappa, I promise I don't always dress like this. I was just dressed up for Hallows." 'Cause really, any excuse to wear a pink, puffy princess dress was a good time, as far as she was concerned.

She spun the spinner, and landed on 1. She giggled. "So I see how this game is going to go. You're both going to beat me into the dust!" She moved a single space forward, and drew the appropriate tile. She read it to herself, and her eyes screwed up with laughter. "You've failed science class. Move back one space." She could hardly get the words out, giggling as she was. "Oh, it's just a little too close to the truth... And now I've gone negative one spaces. "

Niamh still had a huge grin on her face. Games certainly weren't about winning or losing for her. It was all just fun. And hopefully just enough fun to distract from the general situation.

The switch in Ella made Raa's heart lighten a little. Seeing her demeanor shift in to something more constructive, something perhaps even a little less frightened made Raa feel rather good about himself. He felt ... useful, and it was a great sensation. His suggestion to try and locate Ava had seemed to give the hybrid some focus, and Raa was not going to discourage her from putting her mind to something else besides the situation they all found themselves in.

Raa's whole body perked up, fluffy feathered ears twitching as Ella pointed out the headmistress. With a soft sound of breath from his nose as Raa exhaled, the boy began to gentle guide Ella along. "Let's go talk to her, then. I'm sure she'll have an answer." As Raa began to guide the pair through the crowd of academy students, the boy's eyes met with his father, and Aten gave his son a small nod of his head and an approving look. No doubt his dad thought he was just trying to help out people who were scared, feeling lost, or anxious. If his dad only knew that Raa wasn't only half as strong as he was right now because it was Ella, Aten might have though differently about what he had just seen ...
