Riser Power Redemption for Chester


I will gladly remove the shimmer since it's just for the ooo magic factor, but I would really like both the encoding and decoding if possible, since without both things are just weird. If that doesn't work, just give him the encoding for now and I'll earn the decoding later. Running around town turning all the books into unreadable messes. Let's do this.

Old Trouble
Algie has never quite fit the molds he's tried to fit himself into. All his life he's striven to push himself into the role that others would need of him, whether it be son or student or athlete, and only as an adult carved a small niche of his own as a writer of supernatural crime novels. He's always been a little too polite, a little too proper, and even young was called 'an old man'.

After his mother's death in his late twenties, Algie made a few bad decisions that not only got him on low-level radar of the British media due to the mild popularity of his writing, but also left him with a daughter (as well as her mother who wasn't and never would be his wife). He's since done his best to drop off of the radar, still quietly working and living with his father while becoming an absentee father in his own right. He found himself uncomfortably uninspired. Algie was invited to the college last year for a job and a friend in the town encouraged that the place itself might lend well to his writing.

He's once again a man out of place- the wrong side of the pond, surrounded by near-strangers, and seeking some sort of inspiration.

After coming to Ashdown he has carved himself another small niche, this time as a husband and a mentor to others. He still resists, though perhaps it is simply in his nature to doubt and be stubborn. Despite growth in his powers he remains ever feeling like he is floundering in the footsteps of 'others', perhaps other selves, who have come before. Even his place as a noble feels unnatural, like a choice he was forced to make to survive. Needed but not necessarily wanted.

He continues to be a man out of place- uncomfortably wading through a life that he sometimes isn't sure he's chosen for himself at all.

Reason
Not a change so much as a revision/update to be more relevant to the current storyline and Alg no longer being 'new to town'. Less focus on his life back in england, grounded in his time here.

What I want to happen: I want Jun to finally meet Sunny (whom, she knows nothing about). She is brimming with questions that she'd love to get answered and perhaps the two will become friends? See how it goes! I would like Jun to get a bit more knowledge out of their meeting, however little it is.

Beyond Growth Power for Shun Kuroda
Shadowstep - A short range teleportation ability. Up to 50ft in any direction within his line of sight. He cannot pass through solid or magical barriers with this. He can only do this a couple of times in quick succession before he has to 'rest' for a little while before he can blink again. When doing this, the simply appears to vanish and reappear wherever his target location is, though a few wisps of shadow can briefly be seen upon him disappearing.

Shadowstep +1 - An upgrade for shadowstep, which would basically allow him to carry/bring anything he can normally lift up with him as he teleports. In the case that this something is a living being, they must be willing for him to bring them along. He has to be in physical contact with whatever he's 'carrying'. Bringing heavier things along is also more draining on him than if he's popping around a normal load.
