Scarlett gave a taut smile as Zak thanked her for being so sporting to him. "Ya're welcome, but it's only fair. Ya were so well mannered towards my win, so I figured I should return the favor." She suggested with a shrug and a sip of her beer and glancing at the label. Her glance seemed to prompt Zak to ask if she was enjoying the drink. "Mm~ There's something refreshing about a cold beer on a hot summer day." Scarlett suggested with a small smile, glancing down at her drink fondly. "Sure you don't at least want another sip?" She offered with a chuckle.
Afterwards, she suggested that perhaps they could take a look at the directory, just to see what else the fair had to offer. Though she was perfectly happy to continue hanging around and betting on more races, it was probably a good idea to just start planning ahead while they waited for the next race to start. Zak seemed to agree, confirming whether or not she wanted to do it now, and Scarlett nodded. "Yeah, may as well. They'll probably take a little longer befare starting the next race, since they probably need to check on that rapidash that tripped." She suggested with another sip of her beer before starting for the directory she'd spotted.
A map of the fair layout was set up, and Scarlett gave it a quick scan. Given her navigation skills and experience with map reading, it didn't take her very long to figure out where they were, where they had been, and what areas they hadn't explored yet. "So.... This is the tourney fields, we were just at the canterbury kitchens, and this is the main entrance." She muttered aloud, here eyes glancing between the colored indicators on the map and the descriptions written out in the key beside it. "Looks like they've got a stage area over here with a few attractions..." She suggested, though the only attraction she would really be interested in was seeing a play. There was a petting zoo and ponyta ride, but she wasn't a child, and neither was Zak. At last... She was pretty sure he wasn't, but it only just occurred to her that she didn't know his age. Then again, she doubted he'd answer if she asked, and if he did answer, she couldn't be sure he wasn't lying about it. After all, he had spent so much energy trying to hide his name from her, who was to say he wouldn't hide his age?
There was another area they hadn't visited too, but Scarlett didn't bother to mention it. It was a sparring arena area, and while it would probably be interesting to look at the weapons or watch some medieval fights, she didn't have a death with. She and Zak already had their resentments towards each other and their own weapons, so she didn't see a need to throw them both in a ring and give either of them a reason to try and kill each other. A play seemed at least a little more civil and enjoyable, especially if there were any myth, legend, or historical based plays to pique her interest. "Want to go see a play after a few mare races?" She inquired curiously.

Zak smirked. Well, he'd call that compliment fishing a success. He returned remark was a nice catch, and he gave a half sincere, half playful nod of appreciation in response. He paused when she mentioned how refreshing her beer was, and offered a sip. "Actually, I vouldn't mind...." he remarked, reaching out, "Sank you." Getting a sip of Scarlett's beer, he was actually thinking of buying himself another one for himself. By now, he was pretty sure he would have metabolized most of the alcohol from their meal, and, even though he wasn't really at all worried he might over do it, he was pretty sure that meant it was safe to drink more if he wanted. Despite Meebus' warning...
Zak gave an absent nod as they decided to check out the directory before placing their next bets. "Probably.... Know I von'tbe betting on et next race, zough," he remarked lazily. He dropped down from the stands again, waiting for Scarlett and heading towards the directory. He could tell she had an interest in it and let her handle looking things over, just giving it one thorough once over before shifting his attention towards her. He quirked an eyebrow as she mentioned the stage areas, glancing again at the directory. He eyed the location, placing his hands into his pockets, and then looked around, starting to get distracted by the interest of buying another beer.
He looked back at Scarlett as she mentioned going to see a play. "Really?" he asked, before he could stop himself. He recomposed and gave a shrug. "I suppose, so long as zere's somesing eenteresting. I'm going to go buy anuzzer beer and place my bets. You vant anysing?" The generosity returns! For the time being. He wasn't feeling too tight on money, so he didn't mind when the mood struck him, but it wasn't likely that mood would stay for long.

Scarlett nodded as Zak accepted her offer of a sip of her beer, handing the bottle over and letting him drink while she suggested that they take a look at the directory to see what else was around the fair. Zak agreed, though he suggested that he wouldn't be betting on the horse that fell. "Really?" Scarlett mused, taking her beer back now that he'd had his sip. "Want to make things mare interesting then? What if I told you I'd bet, that rapidash would win the next race?" She suggested with a smirk as they made their way down to the directory. "If I won that bet, what would ya give me?" Scarlett offered. Eventually they reached the directory, and Scarlett looked it over before suggesting that they could go see a play after a few more races.
Zak's response was interesting, he seemed rather surprised by her choice. "What?" Scarlett asked somewhat incredulously with a light laugh, though Zak recomposed himself and agreed that a play would be fine as long as there was something interesting. "Of course." She shrugged. She wasn't going to watch anything that she didn't find interesting, but she may as well at least look. It didn't even have to be a play or anything, there were supposedly acts as well. With so much variety, there was bound to be something that would catch their interests. Afterwards, Zak suggested that he was going to go get another beer and place his bet, offering to get her something as well. Scarlett smiled, happy that he was feeling generous again. "Sure, I'll take another beer, this one's gettin' low. Oh, did you want to split a popcorn? That one you had earlier smelled good." She asked with a light grin.
Afterwards, as promised, she bought a ticket for the same rapidash that had fallen last race. Zak was certain that it wouldn't do well, but Scarlett felt otherwise. Often times, when you fell down, you were more than determined to get up again and do better, so she had a feeling this rapidash was going to come back and turn some heads. When she met back up with Zak, she flashed her number, showing him that she'd meant what she said before.

Zak scoffed a bit, giving a dismissive gesture. "Nuhsing, Mishka. I'm not takeng zat bet. I vouldn't bet on zat horse en case et took some damage, but eef ets fine, I vouldn't be surprised eef et came back vis a vengeance, eizzer," he drawled out. He couldn't tell, from where he was, what the outcome of the horses fall was, and there was really not guarantee either way. He would be betting on a different horse, because the odds were fine either way, but he wasn't going to 100% bet against it, either. He had a decent grasp of psychology; he knew the power of embarrassment and how it could fuel the desire for redemption.
Zak only gave a shake of his head when Scarlett questioned him questioning her. He didn't want to open that can of worms. Instead he nodded, placing his hands in his pockets as they decided to check out the plays later. "Let me know vhen you've had enough betting, zhen," he remarked absently, looking once more at the directory, before movign away. Surprisingly, he didn't make some joking remark about losing to him or anything. Instead he decided to go place his own bet and get another drink, and offered to grab her something as well, giving a wave over his shoulder as he moved off and she gave her order. "You've got et, Mishka," he complied lackadaisically.
He went to place his bet, tucking the ticket away and going to buy a few beers and a larger sized popcorn. He headed back to the stands, just giving a nod as she showed her ticket, and took a seat, offering her her beer and placing the popcorn between them. Scarlett chuckled a bit as Zak suggested that he wouldn't give her anything for winning that bet, since he knew better. Unlike Scarlett, he wasn't as eager to bet on it, but he wasn't going to bet against it either. "Fair enough. You can play it safe then, I think risks make things mare exciting." Scarlett teased lightly with a smirk. Not that she could blame him really. It was admittedly a smarter, safer choice to not take the risk in case the rapidash had actually hurt itself, but it also meant the rapidash had a chance of using it's failure to win the whole thing, and that was a risk Scarlett was willing to take.
For now though, she checked out the directory with Zak, looking at the other areas available and suggesting that they go see a play after betting a bit more. Zak didn't seem to be very enthusiastic about her choice, but quickly put himself in check, dismissing her inquiry farther into what issue he had. Perhaps it was for the best that they didn't get into it. Scarlett would prefer to avoid farther conflict between them after all, so when Zak suggested that she just let him know when she was tired of betting, she gave a light nod in agreement.
Afterwards, he offered to get her something from the concessions, and Scarlett requested another beer and some popcorn, sending him off while she went to place her bet. First though, she finished off the beer she had, tossing the empty bottle in the waste bin before placing her bet and rejoining Zak on the bleachers. She took the offered beer and flashed her ticket number, showing that even though he hadn't took her up on the bet, she still intended to go with her choice. Zak of course had to tease her for it, and Scarlett gave him a sarcastic smile with a light tilt of her head, as if to silently say "Yeah, real cute". "You know what I think...?" She mused, leaning in close as the race started. "I think, you need to take mare chances... After all," Scarlett purred, "risky business is the best kind of business there is.... Wouldn't you agree?" She smirked, taking some of their popcorn as the race finished. She didn't need to look to know that her rapidash had won and upset the entire race. "Neu ifn you'll excuse me, I need to go collect my winnings." She smirked.

He gathered up food and drinks after they'd each got their tickets for the next race. He settled in for the race, letting her eat the popcorn and opening his beer to start drinking. He raised an eyebrow, glancing at her. She reeeeaaaally didn't know him....
"Not eef I'm not enformed enough," he answered simply, shifting to stand as the race ended, "I don't make blind bets based on luck." Yukie stood in front of a large banner pinned up on the wall of the betting station listing each Rapidash as well as their rider, age, racing history and a small bio of each. Jousters where people dressed as knights or people such as the bandits who's leader was actually getting suited up down on the field for his run right now. His Rapidash was an older grey flamed one named Ash. Yukie was a little bi's towards the much more vibrant and younger Rarity who rider was a women dressed as a mage. Yukie was placing his bets on Rarity when Akela asked her question making Yukies blood run cold. What was modesty, please be a joke. "Your kidding me right ? Scarlett was a little disappointed that Zak took her suggestion literally, but by the same token, she saw it as his way of telling her to try harder with the metaphors, and reminded her of the flirting challenge that Zak posed. So instead of pouting, she moved on smoothly, digging her doubloon out again and regarding it fondly as they talked. "That's half the fun though, not knowin' the outcome." Scarlett suggested honestly. "If you always know what's going to happen, it's a bit boring when you win, whereas if there's a chance that you can lose, the win is more satisfyin'." She mused. She wasn't trying to change his opinion so much as give her perspective of things. "Taking the time to calculate everything all the time can be exhaustin'. Yukie wasn't sure if he cared enough to be bothered learning about her culture honestly. If he was to spend more then just the fair and a week longer then yeah maybe otherwise it was just a wasted effort. No point in being rude about it though. That earned him no reward in the end. "Yeah maybe." Yukie began as Olm, his Murkrow shifted positions to watch the jousters taking their positions on the field. "I suppose i should ask though. What made you leave your, what ever it was to come all the way to the Unova region anyway?" Yukie'd tried coming up with a logical reason himself but thus far all he could come up with where wild ideas's based on things he'd seen in Tv shows like being an exile from her home land or something. It made no sense to assume such things held any real word weight but that was all he could come up with and it seemed an innocent enough question to ask. She'ed made it fairly clear she wasn't familiar with the modern world, its rules, technology or much of anything really. It was also unreasonable to assume she couldn't have become a pokemon trainer some other way then to get a starter but so far he'd not see hers so that wasn't off the table as a possibility.

Scarlett felt that her explanation was probably falling on deaf ears, given the expression Zak was wearing for most of it, but as she continued, he seemed to reconsider, finally agreeing that he couldn't argue with some of her thought process. Though he still firmly believed that when something was on the line, an informed guess was better, he did have to admit that playing things by ear could be fun. "Yeah... If something's on the line, then it's rational to want the best outcome." Scarlett agreed, though she had a strange expression on her face, as if she weren't really invested in what she was saying. Any rational person would want the best outcome when something was on the line, but Scarlett wasn't like most people. With her life on the line, she couldn't give rattata's a** what the outcome was. All she lived for now was just the thrill of living, which meant more often than not, she was putting herself at risk and enjoying the risk. Her outlook was warped, sure, but at least she was able to recognize that she was different in that regard, and agree that Zak's mentality made sense, even if she didn't exactly share it. There were just very few things that actually motivated Scarlett to put in some effort in calculating the probability of an outcome.
Honestly though, she hadn't expected to even get Zak to admit that surprises could be fun, even if he specified that they had to be done right. Scarlett smirked a bit at that. "And how would you define a surprise "done right", a stór?" She asked with intrigue. She doubted he'd tell her, but if he did, she would certainly take some mental notes. Given her own warped opinion on surprises, both pleasant and unpleasant, it was probably best that she figure out how he defined a good surprise. First though, she needed to collect her winnings, and made a point of doing so, only for Zak to retort that he still had his winnings from last race, so Scarlett called them even with a touché and left it at that. Given that they were currently even though, Zak suggested that they have a few more bets to see if they could break their sort of tie and then move on. "Sure. Call it best two out of three?" She suggested. With an odd number of races like that, they could finally settle things.
