Hearing Zack's words before he showed himself, Leo would spin around in time to get into the blade lock that he had initiated, only to feel Zack shove him back. Falling into old routines, Leo knew that the next attack that Zack would launch would be at full range, parrying the strike as Zack swung and engaged the blade to full length in one fluid move, making it seem like the weapon itself was reaching out to cut him down. “Think you can provide a bit of a challenge? Your moves are becoming easy to read.” Leo would retort as he shifted into one of his more dangerous stances as well, only to have Zack sheath Flamma Animam. With a sigh of disappointment, he would sheath Umbra and nod to Zack. “Alright. But you're making this up to me by making our match a best of nine.” He would say with a smile before walking back into the cafeteria.
He would walk in just in time to see Hirsch and Lance literally drop into the cafeteria. Knowing Zack and his hatred for loosing to cheap stunts, Leo would wince internally when he noticed the glint in Zack's eye before he stalked off into the hallway once more. Sitting down with his team, he would look to the new face and nod to her. “Hey, you must be our fourth. Good to meet you.” His tone was calm and even, but his eyes were almost shining from his genuine happiness of the recent events. It was long overdue for his life to take a positive turn. Thinking about what Zack had said to him just moments before, an idea would come to Leo's mind. “Hey guys... Would you be interested in joining me for my morning training routine? If nothing else, we'll be able to learn a bit about each other that way?”

Zack Shadowheart
Zack would laugh at Leo's comments about his moves being too predictable, and nod at his request for a best of nine fight. “You got it.” Would be all that he could say before seeing Hirsch and Lance drop into the cafeteria from the roof. His eye twitching slightly, Zack would make a mental note to find out who's idea it was to pull that stunt in the middle of his game before walking off to find the other two students. Walking in complete silence for a couple of minutes, he would turn a corner in time to see Eva, Garnet, and Duo walking his way. “Looks like my partner has you two 'captured'...” Zack would chuckle as he crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall. “Your team will be joining me and team Flame for early morning training drills. Be sure to show on time, hm?” He would chirp before waving them on. “Get some dinner kids. You'll need to hit the sack early tonight. I'll be there in a few minutes.”
Pushing off the wall, Zack would walk past them and start heading for Nora's room. Duo, who was content being petted in Eva's arms until then, quickly squirmed out of her grasp after being sure to slobber her cheek, running up to Zack's side and keeping pace with him. Reaching the door to Nora's room, Zack would knock on the door twice before waltzing in. “C'mon princess, dinner bell's rung. Time to sit with the other big kids at the table.” He would say in a friendly tone as he lifted her up by the collar of her shirt, like one would scruff a puppy or kitten, before dragging her out of the room. Keeping his voice low for a moment, he would speak to her in a serious tone. “It's time you were brought up to speed as to what we're up against here...” Keeping his face in a relaxed and playful expression, he would pull out his scroll and send a message to the other headmasters that read “Things are worse than we anticipated. Calling an emergency meeting after dinner. They've started their opening moves.”
Reaching the cafeteria, Zack would let Nora go long before they made it to the door to allow her to save face and compose herself. Looking to all of the students, he would whistle loudly to get all of their attention. “Nice to meet you scrubs, I'm Zach Shadowheart, your combat and survival instructor. I regret to inform you all that your first assignment of reaching the cafeteria on time is a resounding failure. Both teams didn't arrive at the same time, and one even used a tactic that would guarantee their own demise would they have pulled it in an actual scenario. I expect all eight of you to show early tomorrow morning in the school courtyard for drills. I took the liberty of sending an alarm program to all of your scrolls to wake you up at the appropriate time.” His face was friendly, but his eyes and tone were very serious, even to the point of being considered cold. “With that in mind, welcome to Beacon Academy! Now dig in, you'll need all the strength you can muster in the coming weeks.” He would end on a cheery note before walking off into the kitchen, gesturing for Nora to follow him as he joined up with Yoru, Chrissy, and Rosa. “Sorry for bouncing like I did, I'll give you all a full debrief once the students have gone to their rooms.” He would say in a low voice, looking Yoru in the eye when he said 'you all', letting his meaning sink in.
Eva sighed and nodded, agreeing that it would have been worse if the teacher was sitting on Garnet rather than the dog. "I suppose you're right," she said as she took her scroll back once her teammate had sent the message. "Hopefully we'll be able to get to the cafeteria without much more trouble," she said, grimacing as the dog slobbered on her in his eager attempts to lick her face. She wasn't too surprised to see the teacher before they reached the cafeteria, letting the dog go when he squirmed.
"Yes sir, we'll be there. I'll ask Leo when you want to start," she said after he told them to be ready for early morning training. She sighed, shaking her head and leading Garnet the rest of the way to the cafeteria. Once there she went to wash up since Duo had slobbered and shed on her, her nose scrunched up slightly with distaste. With that done she went to make sure Hirsch and Lance were alright. They seemed fine so she sighed and settled into a seat next to Hirsch.
"What time will Professor Shadowheart be expecting us in the morning Leo? I'll have to figure out how to set an alarm on the scroll if we don't have one in the room. I think we should head down together since we'll be training together anyway." She looked over the other team and was surprised to see someone new. "Oh. Hello. I'm Eva, leader of team Alpha. These are my teammates: Lance, Hirsch, and Garnet," she said, introducing them to the girl.

He tilts his head slightly as Leo runs back out of the room with his weapon out. He scratches his head, right at the base of one of his horns. He shrugs and turns back to Lilian. As he was about to talk he hears the clink of armor, turning to see the Headmistress of the Atlas Academy. He snaps to attention, an old habit still held over from his days at the school. A few seconds later he notices Cerise, who was slightly hidden behind Rosa. When Cerise introduces herself, Marten smiles and waves preparing to introduce himself.
Before he is able to say anything, Lilian is the first to speak up. Marten gives a small pout, but shrugs it off a moment later. "It's nice to meet you Cerise. As Lilian said, I'm Marten Topaz. I am the heavy fighter in out group, mainly shield and big gun. But I also always have snacks and sweets on me. So if you have a request for something you really like, let me know and I'll try to have it."
When Leo comes back into the cafeteria, Marten frowns when Leo asks about the training. Marten closes his eyes for a moment, letting out a sigh. He never had considered himself a morning person, but at Atlas he was always up very early in the morning for training and then classes right after, so it would be too much of a change. Marten still had trouble sleeping in on the weekends or days he didn't have class. "Sure Leo. I don't have a problem getting up and joining you. I do still need some practice, and getting used to fighting with my team is going to be different than what I'm used to. It'll be nice." Stats:
『Garnet walked in silence, not wanting to say anything really. The appearance of the teacher hunting them down elicited no response until he left, giving the man a two finger salute before he and Eva made it to the cafeteria where Garnet would perch himself against a wall. Hearing his name mentioned, he'd glance over to the new girl with an unamused look and give a curt nod before turning away. Zack would reappear shortly with the white-haired teacher from earlier. He listened to his lecture about their failure and sighed. Just when he thought he'd heard it all, there was mention of an alarm for a training session in the morning. This whole place was wild to Garnet.』
≺Vanora gave him a look when he barged in, unamused. At least he had knocked. "I'm not hungry, go without m-" Nora stopped as she was pulled to her feet by her collar. "I-I can stand on my own, Zack! Goodness... If you wish to play rough, at least give me a warning next time." She mumbled beneath her breath, falling silent as he spoke again. "At least I can count on someone here to make sure I know what's going on." Her cold, blue eyes narrowed bitterly. The walk was brisk and he released her soon, allowing her to straighten out her attire.
Scrubs? How utterly inappropriate to call a student something so casual. She shook her head in disapproval, joining the other teachers when Zack motioned her forward. Vanora crossed her arms, looking to her colleagues with a bit of displeasure for being dragged away from her work. However, that was Zack's doing and she wouldn't take it out on them. At least this debriefing would give her something to think about.≻

Lilian turned her attention to Martin for when he spoke. She smiled at every time he did, she was just happy to be apart of a team, and finally with their new member aboard. The fact that this new character was also a female, made it even better! "Speaking of snacks." Lilian started out, her eyes glistened to the delight memory of the earlier treat Martin had offered her. "I wanted to thank you for the carrot cake candy you brought me, it was mighty delicious!." She said rather happily. Heck, if she had a tail, it would be wagging for how much she enjoyed being spoiled with treats such as that.
Lilian slightly jumped to the sudden sound of their leader, Leo, who asked if everyone would be up for training with him. Her ears lightly went limp as she gave him a half-cocked smile. Lilian was happy to see him smiling so genuinely for the first time, but something else bothered her, maybe his last echoed words of him leaving her alone after all of this nonsense and that big talk for later. Something she wanted to avoid all together. Besides, recalling back from the indecent of falling from the bathtub, that nasty bruise on her leg still stung from not allowing herself to rest.
Lilian perked her ears up again to the sound of Eva, and quickly turned to see her and Garnet entering. Ah! An escape from awkwardness! Lilian thought to herself. She felt guilty from just thinking that alone. "Garnet looks lonely, so I'll keep him company" Totally a lie, she knew Garnet would probably prefer to be left alone, but it was her only excuse to remove herself from the group......from Leo. Lilian stood up with a bit of a wince, and hurried on over to Garnet.
Mid way towards him, Lilian was about to call out to Garnet, but stopped in her tracks all together when Garnet had looked her way, well past her way to the new girl, and gave her a courtesy acknowledgment bow of his head. Lilian saw the glimpse of his exotic eyes, she knew he was a Faunus....a snake at that. Seeing those eyes again recalled the memory of that bizarre dream of hers. His eyes in the dark, the way he handled her, those snakes up her legs. "My Laundry!" She announced to herself.
Lilian had completely forgotten that they were still in the wash, left unattended any longer, and they will smell of mildew or worse! The young girl quickly turned to her group. with her right hand in a fist she raised it to her head and lightly tapped her hand to the center while sticking her tongue out for only a second. "I completely forgot something!" She then turned to the teacher known as Zack, and bowed deeply to him. "Please excuse me, I'll be right back, promise!" She said in haste, and without another word, hurried off down the hallway, and made it back to the laundry room. She hurried to the washer, and took out her clothes, and placed them in the dryer.
Once the dryer started its cycle, Lilian let out a elongated relief of a sigh. Her stomach began to growl some, and placed her left hand over her small frame. "Honestly....." She said softly to herself. With a weak smile, she fixed her posture, and patted her cheeks roughly with both hands. "Right! No more excuses, gotta focus, and be better!" This was her way of trying to cheer up.

Lance poked his head out from his blanket once more to the sound of Eva speaking. He watched the two enter, and even as much looked over to Zack who obviously pointed out their flaw in everyone's arrival, but in his own statement there was a flaw. He never mentioned to arrive as a group, and if he had, he could have made a last reminder notice, after all they are only new to the academy. Secondly, he only stated that he would be chasing them, never mentioned of a dog, or the true nature of it being ultimately this kind of test. Then again, maybe he suspected us to already know this, but how? Again, they are all new recruits to this academy thinking it as a normal school with classes they take like any other that is set up to train them to become hunters. And thirdly, he never said that they had to arrive in a certain fashion. So, as to pertaining as how Lance had arrived with Hirsch should have been irrelevant.
Lance sat up and had to ponder to his other statement as to how his approach would have failed in a different scenario. But how? Surely if by him meaning crashing from the top into enemy territory surrounding themselves with the enemy, than yes, that would be poor. However, for lance's view, he upon the rooftop peering through a window, with a clear sight of his surroundings below and people within, knew that it would be okay to enter, to drop by if you will. So, in the other scenario with enemy, if he had the same out look, than it would stand to reason that he would even go as far as taking extra precaution as to not alert his foe. But with the treatment Zack is giving them right off the bat tells Lance of another story, a different intent that these so called teachers have in store for them.....A secret they hold..... Lance looked to Eva as they all converse and thought that he would seek her counsel later. For now, Lance re-human burrito himself, and laid across the table. He will eat when food is ready.

Rosa turned her attention to the sound of that obnoxious brute known as Zack, and watched as he roughly dragged her companion Nora into the cafeteria. "Tch..." Zack and herself never saw eye to eye. He held more emotion than she did when it came to taking action. She was military raised with a stone heart, as for his story, she didn't bother to learn it nor care to find out. Just seeing his brutish ways made her disinterested altogether. Nevertheless, there he was already making demands of these kids without a second thought. Her usual routine would be; after the entries, they would go to their dorms to rest up after a hard day at work, to eat at their leisure, and by the next morning, introductions to their teachers, and their schedule for classes. Then they would be off to attend as such, and from then on, go by their daily routine.
Seeing Nora come forth, and straightened out her uniform, Rosa couldn't help but smile to her displeasure. Luckily such was hidden behind her helmet. Rosa approached Nora since the other two seemed preoccupied with one another. "Good evening Nora, It's good you could join us." She started out and placed her hands behind her as usual. "Honestly, I don't know if I'd even stay had you not shown up....Brutish man that one...." Looking to Zack who was still speaking to the students, Rosa spoke in a low tone for only Nora to hear.

Glad that at least Marten seemed to be willing to train with him, he would look to Lilian, only to see her run off. Frowning slightly in worry, he would then see Eva walking up, asking him about Zack's planned training start time. He would think about this for a few moments, frowning in thought. “When we were training under the same master, he would always start his training at 6 am. I would recommend getting up at 5, just to be on the safe side. A warning tho; he has a bit of a love for running laps, so be prepared for an exhausting marathon. Wouldn't be surprised if he called for a ten kilometer run before doing much of anything else. Also, stay armed and fully aware of your surroundings. He tends to run through Grimm areas to add on to the training.” He would finally say, leaning back in his seat and looking to the ceiling in thought. “I've kept to the habit of waking up at 4 since I've been on the road by myself for a year getting here. I won't wake anyone up when I do, probably will around 5 tho...” He would trail off as he started thinking about his own training schedule. “I'll need to set up a regular route for my parcour in the forest... Maybe use it as a regular patrol route in the morning as well...” He would begin to think out loud as he pulled out his scroll and opened up the map, projecting it out over the table and standing up to get a better view of the grounds, town, and nearby forest. Muttering to himself, he would begin to mark paths with red lines, depicting possible routes he could go, completely spacing out and forgetting that the others were there to see him in his “tactician” state of mind.
Hirsch stared around himself, taking in his surroundings. Well, it looked like everyone else made it here in one piece, so that's good. He gave Eva and Garnet a warm smile. "Hey! So, you got caught by the dog, huh?" he asked awkwardly. He rubbed his shoulder, which still stung from his 'graceful' landing on the table. "I bounced off the tabletop." He scooted over a little as she sat down to join them. His ears twitched in curiosity as the Snake Faunus left to hang towards the wall. Why wouldn't he want to be near them? Truth be told, this was the first time Hirsch was actually around a Snake Faunus...
His concentration broke when Zack told them that they all failed. His jaw dropped, looking very ready to protest. Instead, he shut his mouth and glared mutinously down at the table, wanting to argue. Since when did he say this was a test? Or the parameters of this test? Really, what kind of teacher does that? And what the heck was a scrub?
As he was still mentally grumbling about the teacher's bizarre training methods, he looked around the room to observe more. He watched as the other teachers came in. The one called Nora looked cross. Guess it wasn't just the students, then. Or she was just mad for some reason, which was also a possibility. His eyes drifted again, this time to team Flame. He noticed that Eva was talking to Leo, while Lilian ran out of the room, and just as soon returned. It looked like the final missing student arrived, completing team Flame. And Marten seemed...Marten, he supposed.
He looked around to his teammates. Eva was still talking to Leo. Garnet was still being a loner. And Lance was...a human burrito again. A question popped in his head as soon as he saw him. The Deer Faunus tapped Lance on the shoulder. "Hey...what was soft earlier?" he asked, confused. His dark eyes stared at the lump of blanket curiously, wondering if he was going to get even half of a response, if any. He seemed to like to talk to Eva more.

When Lilian had finished introducing everyone Cerise sat down. "It's a pleasure to meet you and I look forward to working with you all in battle. My specialty is swords, and some hand-to-hand, so I'm best with close range combat for the most part. Morning training sounds like it would be good experience so I'd be glad to join you, Leo. I'm used to waking up before 5 to go for runs with my brother, so I don't mind if you wake me up when you get up. I think training will be good for getting into a rhythm as a team," she said thoughtfully, "As for your offer Marten, I'll definitely keep it in mind. The one that pops into my mind is toffee."
Lilian excused herself to talk to another student. Cerise looked around at the other students and the teachers and thought for a moment. "That was some way to get everyone here for dinner, huh? Is it just us first year students or is everyone else going to be chased down here too?" she commented. She thought about how Lilas had always said that the hallways were always so noisy at Beacon between classes. Cerise suddenly remembered the messages from Lilas and Maize. She opened her scroll and pulled up the texts. Lilas wished her luck and gave warning that some of the teachers were unorthodox. "Well, I guess I've already learned that. Though not as first hand as everyone else," she thought. Maize had simply demanded that Cerise call home every day so they could talk. She laughed at his ridiculousness and quickly replied to the messages, thanking Lilas for the warning and reminding Maize that she would have free time on weekends and that they weren't bound to school grounds.
"I very briefly saw the room, it's not bad. What's being done about sleeping and changing arrangements? Has everyone claimed a bed already?" Cerise asked, "I don't mind where I sleep, I just want to know so when we get back upstairs I don't accidentally crash on someone else's bed."
