At last, on that space above the tree, just at the very nook, above one of the signs, to the left over on the overhanging branch, appears a very smug half-invisible cat.
"You may call me a Cheshire cat," it begins, fading in and out of sight at random will, "but just one of many. We reside here you see. This is a nice place, and we so very much do enjoy a good riddle. Let us play a small game, if you will so indulge me. I'll give you something nice of course in return. All right, here goes the riddle"
"What can I hide but always find?"
Epithet stared up at the cat, his own form fading in and out just like the Cheshire before him. So this was the inspiration for his avatar, it would make sense. It was a wicked looking thing, but when it came to riddles, he wasn't as good as he would like to claim himself to be. He crossed his arms, with a hand to his chin. He contemplated for a time with eyes closed. What could one hide but always find?
"A shadow." The boy answered. He gave it little thought, but he doubted the answer to be correct but it was the first that came to mind. One cannot hide a shadow for there is always a shadow. That was one of the sayings among the Umbra. He could not think of a way for one to hide a shadow, even in a dark room, there is a shadow, one simply does not see it. "You can hide your shadow, and you may always find it." he pinched out the response.
He didn't like it, but it was an answer. The Cheshire smiled and offered him a chance to ask him a riddle as well. Epithet went back to thinking.

bigbadwolf wasn't impressed at having to hang around but he wasn't about to let some rotten cat win over him at anything. Especially not one that seemed prone to repeating stupid jokes.

He rolled his eyes, time, how clever. Riddles weren't fun, they weren't funny. A good pun, on the other hand, was entirely worthwhile.

"Everyone has it, but no one can lose it." He asked. He was pulling a fast one but he was holding a straight face toward the Cheshire. It was the same question that the cat had asked him just moments before but this one was worded differently and it was something that he believed in. As his father was the alpha of Umbra, the shadows were something he was fascinated with and knew the ideas behind it. What the Cheshire had asked was insulting in a way to think one could hide a shadow. No, it is just not seen. "Well?"
The cat smiled. "Your mind."
"Wrong!" he exclaimed with a hint of excitement, but it was predictable. "Certainly, everyone has a mind, but you can also certainly lose it. Insanity, crazy, madness. However, you cannot hide your shadow, Cheshire, it is always there. You can hide if you like, but your shadow will always give you away. Hide in the dark and it is still there, but you cannot see it." "A surprising twist, but I love surprises. You are quite the clever one, and for that, you deserve a small prize. Just this time, of course, just once."
A small treasure chest appears in front of you and then the cheshire cat is gone.

00zingTea had been wandering around, looking for something a little more interesting then that forest. A tree greeted her from her right. The hatter was not very excited at the idea of another talking tree.

A cat! It was tucked into the nook of the tree above one of the signs and it was sort of invisible, or at least it was sometimes.
"Alright a riddle then!" The hatter huffed.
"What can I hide but always find?" the cat creature asked, it's smile never wavering. It titled it's head at her as she thought.

The way this path looked did not surprise Wykid in the least. This place tended to veer completely to the insane side or the side of normalcy. Almost to the point where it draws you into a sense of comfort. That perhaps nothing too bad will be waiting for you around that next corner.
But looks were always deceiving.
Wykid continued to wander down the path until she felt quit dizzy. It was an odd sensation which caused her to lean a hand upon a tree. A very peculiar tree. As she tried to regain her spinning brain a voice called out. Looking up into the tree she spied the cat, phasing in and out of sight. My, she would much like to have a cat like that. To figure out just how it made parts of it's body visible while others invisible.
Shaking her head, she rubbed her temple for a second. "A story....or a riddle?" Wykid wasn't the best at riddles. And she preferred others to do the story telling.

Thin with dark skin. Wykid wears the black and blue Caterpillar armor. Her mouth is covered by a mask hiding the bottom half of her face and the sleeves of her shirt are larger than normal, slightly translucent at the wrists giving a small peek at her bone arms. Its hard to tell her disposition at the time unless you are watching her body language. But even that can be a bit tricky. But for the most part she's fairly good natured.
Since he was able to ask again, Boi waited until the Cheshire cat asked a new riddle.
""What is flat but sharp at the edges?" Those past failures weighed deeply on him. It clouded his senses. How the heck could he figure this out?! I wasn't... It didn't make any sense, none at all. How could something be flat AND sharp?
Wait... No. Boi blinked and then grinned, "A knife!"

The Cheshire began to slink down the side of the tree. Phasing in and out as it went until it found a branch at a comfortable distance from Wykid. Apparently they were going to play a game of riddles whether she wanted too or not.
"What turns around and around and around but quite rather slowly?" She repeated the riddle back to the cat. Her brain went to work, trying to figure it out. Really, she hated riddles. Why be so tricksy when you could just as equally be straight forward.
Looking up at the cat, she scratched at her cheek. "Time....?" That was all she could really come up with. The Cheshire's grin grew wider. Perhaps a bit too wide for such a creature that it appeared to stretch off of it's face.

"What delivers messages, yet is almost never seen?" Boi felt confident about his response. The cat seemed to pause as it thought.
"A harpy."
Oh. Crestfallen, he didn't even listen to what the cat had to say about being made for riddles and all that nonsense. At least he got the Cat's riddle right! That was a bonus...

Okay, third time was the charm... Taking a deep breath, he nodded to the cat. He wanted a riddle.
"What turns around and around and around but quite rather slowly?"
Whoever wrote these things... Boi thought about punching the person in the face and that made him happier. Okay, something that spun, but did it over and over again, and slowly? He started narrowing down options. The only thing that came to mind was something his father had told him... That the world was always turning, but it was doing it slowly so you never felt it.

"Sure, here comes my riddle: I can run but not walk. Wherever I go, thought follows close behind. What am I?"
The cat's tail flicked back and forth, "The answer for this one is your shadow. It follows you everywhere, and hides anywhere. Quite tricky, that shadow."
