I solemnly swear

Finn didn't say anything to his sister as he herded her away from whoever she was talking to. He only glanced at her, and saw that her face was pointed towards the ground to hide deep blush, well it wasn't working out very well for her. The walk was quiet until he finally made it inside the tent. His eyes scanned for Jack until finally seeing him shrug his shoulders nonchalantly at a blonde headed woman. His face looked rather bored, and unimpressed. Finally the woman glanced at their direction, making Jack make eye contact and smirk at Piper, not even glancing at his brother.
As soon as the woman left, Jack hopped up and strolled over to Piper, resting his arm casually across her shoulder.
'Have a nice rest sleepy head?" There was a teasing look in his eyes as he pinched her cheek lightly and laughed. Jack then glanced at his brother, locking eyes with him for a moment, as if they were exchanging a whole conversation with just that look.
"I think it would be best to practice one more time before the show, why don't you go stretch Piper?" Piper glanced at Finn, confused for a moment. She opened her mouth to reply, but saw the look Finn was giving Jack. So she just snapped her mouth shut and walked away, sitting on the ground and stretching like she was told.
Finn watched Jack slide his hand down into his pocket, and reveal that same tiny stripped box.
"Look what I found." Jack's voice was low so Piper couldn't hear, as he placed the box in Finn's hand.
"Well, it's been a while since I've seen this...we didn't even try it out..." Finn trailed off, and glanced back up at his brother as full realization dawned upon him. Jack nodded once, making a smirk fall upon his twin brother's face.
"Oh, I know she will fully enjoy this. Did you get it working?"
"There's no way to test it. So we'll just have to take the risks. You know how I love risks..." Finn nodded at his brother, a smirk still on his face. His head tilted so he could glance at Piper, her nose touching the ground as she bent to stretch.
"I saw Piper talking to some guy outside her caravan. I don't really know his name though, and I think I've seen him around a few times....he doesn't really stick into my brain though....sort of a nobody." Finn said casually, measuring Jack's reaction. Jack kicked the floor a bit with the toe of his boot, taking the box and sliding it back down into his pocket.
"We'll just have to keep an eye out. Piper can be so clueless sometimes..." Jack said casually before walking over to Piper and stuck his hand out to help her up.
"Okay, might as well start from the beginning. Let's not use the fire effects right now though, we'll save them from the real show. Now go on, Piper. Get in your position." With that, the Harries siblings went over the whole routine, practicing a few things more than others. When Piper got on the the wire, she did the exact same thing, only this time the fall was real. Jack caught her once again, but then his brother jogged over.
"I've got an idea..." He said casually, and explained what would happen after her fall. Then she practiced falling over and over again until she got it just right. By the end of it, Piper was slightly dizzy, and a bit wobbly.
"I think I'm going to lay down again...or I may be sick." Her brothers walked Piper back to the caravan, then met up in their own caravan to devise a plan for their prank.

that I am up to no good.

Tightrope Walker/Assistant/Acrobatics
Little sister to Jack and Finn

“I may not have gone where I intended to go

.♡.Piper couldn't help but feel slightly dizzy after so much falling off that high of a rope. Her brothers walked her back to her caravan, them holding on to each one of her arms in case she tripped or stumbled. Once back, she collapsed onto her bed, closing her eyes and letting her body catch up with her. Her head was pounding, and so was her heart. Piper glanced up at her clock on the wall, shooting up in her bed when she saw it was a couple minutes past two.
Piper stumbled off her bed, tripping a few times, and finally managed to make it out the door. Her brothers were in their caravan, as she raced down the cirque path, dodging people on her way. She was in such a panic that she hadn't had the time to really psych herself out yet. Piper rounded a corner, and froze when she saw him sitting at a table. It was her chance now, she could back away and disappear and act like she had never even been there, or she try something new for a change...take a risk for someone. She had always wanted to make more friends.
So instead of running away, Piper breathed a couple of deep breaths and walked to him, stopping in front of Jesse and looked away from a light blush already forming on her face.
"S-Sorry I'm late...I guess practice ran longer than I expected." She said quickly, tugging her hair nervously. Oh how her brothers would kill over if they saw her now, but Piper quickly pushed this thought away. Her one goal was not to make a complete and total fool out of herself, she did want to make a new friend after all.

but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.”

I will tell you your fortune and the out come...
What you do, is you're decision. You control your stars.

Magnolia listened to Kale as he spoke. She looked over at him before looking at the texts of the book. "My best guess that he is part of an abandoned angel family. They aren't exactly fallen nor damned, but they practice pagan rituals. The upright pentacle isn't exactly a damned symbol like the upside down one. But it protects the marked person from demon possession. Vice Versa. I don't think his parents really knew either though. They grew up wealthy and if they saw those marks, they would turn away from each other instead of procreating a new breed." She leaned on the table and looked over at him curiously. Maggie understood the situation. It was serious and Kale needed to know more about him. The trick is, how to unlock one thing without unlocking too much. Its a wonder how a mortal body and keep two high blood lines. Maggie stood up and closed the books, "I can read him like a child's book sir. He would need to learn how to do an ability to conceal his stars and future from me. Do you think I should tell him though? If we don't it will only bring the anger." She picks up her books and listened to him tell her that she was tied to him. oh good, only fear can reach him and not...other emotions... Magnolia nodded and smiled at him, "Thank you, sir. That is comforting to know. I will also have the vile with me always in case something does happen. Yes, sir. I have to clean up myself and clean up the area before I can take anymore customers. Thank you, Kale. I will be careful. Have fun out there." Magnolia smiled happily at him as she waved him good biddings. She sighed to herself and cleaned up the two tea cups as she used her powers to pick up the crystals and putting them back tot the plants. She looked at the crystals, seeing that it was already two o'clock. Where did the day go? Well, time flies when you're having fun... if you can call it that. Maggie cheated a bit and used her powers to get the blood stains off her curtains and ground, draining them in the sink in the back. She pratically finished cleaning up in there, she walked over to the body and crossed her arms. What to do with this dead cobra? Too bad there weren't any mongooses around to feed... Magnolia had an idea and smiled to herself. She could now use bones for fortune telling! Maggie used her ability to move the body in the back, stripping the skin and cleansing the bones. Pearly whites! At least this teenager kept his bones clean and white! She buried the flesh for the worm. Magnolia looked down at herself, remembering that she had to clean up herself.

Magnolia peeked out and rushed to her caravan without anyone seeing her thankfully. She took her shower, reapplied her makeup and fixed her hair. She put on a clean outfit. She would have to get the bloodstains off her outfit later. She needed to get back to fortune telling now that everything was cleaned up.

With a smile on her face, Magnolia walked out and locked her door behind her. She stretched and smiled at some of the guests. Seeing some small children dressed up as gypsies made her giggle. She danced and sang with them.

"When you're rife with devastation
There's a simple explanation:
You're a toymaker's creation
Trapped inside a crystal ball

And whichever way he tilts it
Know that we must be resilient
We won't let them break our spirits
As we sing this silly song

When I was a little filly, a galloping blaze overtook my city
So they shipped me off to the orphanage. Said, "ditch those roots if you wanna fit in"
So I dug one thousand holes and cut a rug with orphan foals
Memories are blurred, and their faces are obscured, but I still, know the words to this song

When you've bungled all your bangles
And your loved ones have been mangled
Listen to the jingle jangle
Of my gypsy tambourine

'Cause these chords are hypnotizing
And the whole world's harmonizing
So please children stop your crying
And just sing along with me!"

The parents weren't too sure of the lyrics, but they saw their children having fun, so they didn't see them arm. When she got done, she went back to the tent with a couple waiting. She smiled and waved, opening their tent for them. She went into the tent to tell them their fortune. Magnolia really wanted to read more on the symbols on Jesse, but she needed to get her fortunetellings done and be ready for her performance.

WHEN YOU FUMBLE ALL YOUR BANGLES
AND YOUR LOVED ONES HAVE BEEN MANGLED
LISTEN TO THE JUNGLE JANGLE OF MY
GYPSY TAMBOURINE

Cassandra listened to her friend and though she was resilient, she knew her words were true. "Maybe I could somehow manage to do away with her all together...hire someone to do the dirty work and leave some sort of suicide note or farewell letter. Her heart, in Kale's possession, will stop beating once she dies, so he will know she no longer lives. Maybe after he grieves, or even as he grieves, it will be my arms he will come back to. I've done it once already when he got too close to this other woman decades ago. He bought it then, why not now? I was so good, he didn't even know it was I who killed her. Trampy little b***h that one. Much like his precious Maggie." Jealousy was abundant in her words with malice intertwined. She sipped on her booze not caring that her friend was underage. Who was going to bust her, a cop? Who was brave enough to rat her out? None of the Cirque members that was for sure. Nearly everyone in the Cirque did something illegal at one point or another.

She turned and looked at Cathleen with a devilish smile on her face.
"I guess what they say is right. History always has a way of repeating itself. I will play the part of the sweet little innocent with a hot temper like I always do, hire some low life to gank the psychic, all the while being in Kale's good graces when it goes down, pretending I have no idea what is going on. He will lose her, and my card is back on the top of his deck. Shouldn't be too hard. Everyone has a price. So here it is. From now on, I will be exactly what Kale wants me to be. Authoritative, in control of myself, and helpful to him. It's idiot proof. What do you think?" Taking the last shot of her drink she looked to her friend and giggled evilly. She was a pro, and Maggie was in trouble. Cassie knew how to keep herself blurred from Maggie's sights. Sure she would know something was after her eventually, but the true root of her problem could never be seen.

Jesse waited around, a bit anxiously, hoping she wouldn't fall through. If she did, he wouldn't blame her but blame her weirdo possessive brothers. What was their problem anyway? Did they not grasp that Piper was her own person? A full grown woman capable of making her own decisions? She didn't need them to hold her hand all the way through life. Jesse could sense that much about her. Somewhere deep inside her, she was strong, confident, and independent. He was torn from his thoughts as Piper appeared before him. He smiled up at her and shook his head. "Oh no, don't apologize, I understand. This place is nothing short of unpredictable. It's alright. So what would you like to eat? Anything you want, it's on me." he said happily in a friendly tone to help ease some of her tension. They walked around to the different food trucks until both finally found what they wanted to eat and drink. He paid the workers what was due leaving them a tip as he, one of the only Cirque members, always did for their services.

He led her away from the crowed and found a rather beautiful clearing tucked away, hidden behind the Oddities building. The grass was soft and tiny little daisies popped up around the area in different shades of white and purple. It was completely hidden, and Jesse's own little secret.
"I hope this is alright. I just saw the way your brother kind of snagged you off earlier and figured maybe it was best if you weren't seen hanging around with me. I don't want you to get into any kind of trouble or argument with either of them. They keep you on a pretty short leash I've noticed, if it isn't too bold to say." They both began to eat, chatting a bit at first until really got to talking about things. Nothing very important, just things regarding the Cirque. Likes, dislikes, people, places, things that were funny or annoying, it was all so simple, and after a few minutes, very easy to talk about between the two of them.

Jesse knew right off that the Cirque would be easiest to talk about, as it was the one sure fire thing they had in common. He didn't want to just come out and spill his life story, so he decided to keep personal information to himself unless of course she asked for it. He kept the conversation going, keeping the tone rather light, laughing with her easily.
"Okay, so it is just me or is the Ringmaster just a little...creepy? I don't know how to describe him. He is a decent guy for sure but he just gives me this weird vibe you know? Also, it's weird how everyone has their cliques around here. Like yeah, it's bound to happen but I thought we were all supposed to be this tight knit family. There are so many people who don't even talk to each other and I see it and I can't help but wonder why. Take Chloe for example. She is really nice, friendly, good conversation, very much like yourself, and if I didn't already know better, I would assume the two of you would be best of friends, but you aren't. Or, your brothers, I don't know much about them, but they seem like good guys that I wouldn't mind hanging out with from time to time, but we don't. Or even Madame Magnolia, why is it she never hangs out or socializes with anyone? She seems nice. I just don't get it I guess. Maybe I am just too nice for this place. Me and my misfit personality." he laughed a bit at himself.

He took a drink of his soda, shaking his head in disbelief that this 'family' wasn't exactly as Kale allowed the visitors to believe. He waited for her opinion, checking the time, seeing they had a fair portion of it left. He began to work on his fries, dipping them in his vanilla shake, and listening to her reply, respecting her answer.
"I just wish everyone was a little closer to one another is all. I mean, none of us have anything left but this place and the people in it. You would think we would all be tighter knit. I know I'd be happy with a replacement family. Oh, you have to try this! Take one of your fries and dip. It looks gross but I promise you'll love it." Doing it again himself, having not double dipped, or touched his shake prior to, he sat the cup between them and allowed her to try one of his favorite 'dishes', smiling when she finally complied. They were getting along just fine, and for a moment all the stress had disappeared.

Kill her? Cassie's jealousy ran deeper than Cathleen had originally thought. Her brow rose yet again, looking at her friend as she explained that she'd done it once before. This was becoming an entirely new ball game and Cathy was a little apprehensive about it. She certainly wouldn't rat Cassandra out, but what was to keep Maggie from seeing this? Her friend could hide herself from the psychic, but Cathleen didn't know how to. She was mostly worried about saving her own skin, not even wanting to imagine what Kale would do to her if he were to find she'd been a part of the whole thing. Shaking her head a bit, Cathy downed the last of her drink and let Cassandra finish her words before she spoke. "Sounds good to me. If you got away with it once before then I don't see why you wouldn't be able to again - unless Kale notices the pattern. I'm assuming it's only the two? The b***h from before and Maggie? Then again, I don't know how long ago the last one was, so maybe it could be overlooked." Cathleen shrugged her shoulders and set her cup down, finishing up her cigarette and placing it in the ashtray on Cassandra's table. "Where are you going to find the person to do it?" Leaning back in her chair, Cathy turned her eyes once more to her friend, smirking a bit.

Cassandra giggled evilly as she thought about it. "Oh I have my ways. It was over a century ago when I pulled it off the first time so I doubt he will catch it. As for who I will get to do it, I have someone I can call on for these kinda of things. A classy woman such as myself never lets her hands get dirty." She too put out her cigarette, and finished her drink before dressing in her show clothes and heading out to the grounds with her friend. She got right to work on getting things done, in something of a much better mood. She started talking to people a bit nicer and making suggestions rather than commands, letting her anger go, and being more helpful than anything. Exactly as Kale asked, so he wouldn't be suspicious.

After a few hours, she cam across Kale just finishing up with a group of guests. She walked by him bowed, then kept moving to see to whatever business she had been on her way to. Taking Cathleen around with her she smirked at her, glad to have an approving nod from their ringleader.

Kale Checked his appearance, and once he deemed himself suitable, he watched as the lights in the main stage went out. The seats were packed and the floor space was completely taken up with onlookers and guests. All went silent and a spotlight hit the center of the arena to show no one there. For a few moments he waited, building the tension and curiosity. He vanished from his place and appeared in a cluster of black smoke, right out in the open for all to see him. The crowed cheered over the trick, having no idea what they were about to witness. Nothing they were about to see was imaginary or false, they just didn't know that. stepping up onto the platform, he took the mic into his hand and welcomed his guests. "Greetings all, and welcome to my Cirque Des Horruers! We have traveled to world time and time again, originally from France, but here and now, we bring to you our new found grounded arena! come winter we travel to our southern grounded location, but it is tonight I care most about! Here, you will see things you never thought possible, feel things in your soul that don't exist, and watch in terror as we send your senses into a whole new realm of oddities! We have our mind bending magician Malachi, our seer of the stars, enchantress Madame Magnolia, our gravity defying strap artist Cathleen, an escape artist you won't believe until you see, Cassandra, and a set of siblings who perform a feat so dangerous, I dare you not to scream! This and so much more awaits! So without further a due, I welcome you to our show!"

Disappearing in another fog of black smoke, Kale went behind the curtains, waiting to see who was even up first. He hadn't payed any mind to the schedule, for that was for the performers to decide. He looked around at the audience, pleased that they seemed to already be so consumed by he and his 'freaks' that all should go smoothly for the evening. Typically he had better things to do than stand around and watch the performers but tonight everyone had prepared brand new acts, and he was curious to see how it all went. Watching every move carefully, he stood among the shadows, almost praying no one screwed up.

Magnolia had finished her reading with the couple, giving them good news. But she pulled the girl aside and looked at her, whispering, "My dear, you're pregnant. You need to sleep with your fiance or suspicions will rise in your later years, only ending in tragedy for you and your child. The path he will choose is unpleasant. You have a week to accomplish this, be careful." She warned the girl. This world crawled with sin. The girl nodded and heeded her warning. Maggie closed her tent since the show will be starting soon. She looked over at Kale and Cassie, watching them greet the guests. She looked at Cassie, suddenly feeling like something was wrong. Cassie was usually up to no good, but this was malicious and planning. Maggie was going to have to be aware soon, said her stars. She walked over to the ticket stand, seeing Chloe selling the last ticket as there was one person left.

Chloe looked at the guy sadly and frowned, shaking her head,
"I'm sorry, sir. We are currently sold out. Once we sell out, we cannot even fit anyone else in the stands." "What? What do you mean? It took me two hours to get here! You're getting me in there you little b***h," He frowned, his fists clenching. "I'm sorry, there is nothing I can really do. The Ringmaster has even said himself, once we sell out, I can't let anyone else in..." Chloe started to close the blind, but before it even went half way down, the guy punched the glass, making the glass crack. She flinched, making her fall out of the booth. Magnolia stepped over to the gate and pushed her hands forward, making a wave of energy, forcing the man to tumble a few feet away on the ground. "My apologies for the inconvenience, sir. But rules, are rules. We cannot let you in." Maggie swished her finger, making the blind go all the way down on the broken window, turning the sign saying, 'Sold Out'. Chloe got to her feet and scurried behind Maggie. "Who the hell are you? One of the freaks?" He huffed about to walk through the gates. "What's with everyone and name calling today, Chloe?" She smirked a bit, lowering her head. She stepped forward, making a shoving movement with her hands. The man was sent tumbling again. This time, a little rough. It spooked the man and he grimaced as he walked away, complaining. Magnolia closed the gates with her ability before turning to Chloe. "Are you alright?" She checked over the girl, making sure she was okay. "Yeah, I'm fine, Magnolia. Thank you. I think it would have gotten ugly if you weren't here. Thanks again." She gave a small smile to her and Maggie returned the smile. "Did you put the money away? Are you going to watch the shows? I suggest you do. I feel in your future that this is important that you watch the first act. The siblings performance. You are a meek little rabbit, clumsy, shy and cute. You have been with us for about a year, you should watch and enjoy yourself too. It's not often that you sell all the tickets. Besides, everyone should enjoy the grand opening."

The psychic smiled down at the girl, fixing her hair. Chloe smiled and started walking with Maggie towards the tent, twenty feet from Kale and Cassie.
"Yes, I did. It's in where it has to be. You really think I should watch though? I mean, what if the Ringmaster thinks of anything else for me to do?" Magnolia looked at Chloe and smiled, "I doubt it. Everyone is busy with the grand opening night and the performances. Besides, I'm sure Kale would be more than pleased to know that you sold out the tickets without getting yourself hurt, messing up the tickets and have anyone else hurt. You're the best ticket master, Chloe." She praised the girl, patting her on the top of her hat. Chloe nodded while smiling. Maybe first impressions really were right and wrong. Maggie was still weird, but she was the nice weird.

Before they went into the tent, Magnolia stopped looking at a group of kids. Perhaps from an orphanage? They looked like they ranged six to twelve. Chloe stopped and looked a little confused,
"What's wrong?" Maggie looked at Chloe and said, "I'm getting my act together. You can go ahead in.Oh! Make sure that you stand where the performers can see you, but the crowd doesn't. Someone who is performing tonight, will look for you, but will always deny it till they cave." Chloe looked at Magnolia confused and shrugged, fallowing her directions. Chloe stood near the curtains, being out of sight for the guests, but in sight for the performers.

Magnolia saw a girl being picked on for her long tangled hair. She walked over to the chaperon, bringing up the subject. and since the girl was being picked on, she asked if the girl can be borrowed. Guarantee the girls safety though. The Adult didn't mind, as long as the girl was okay with it. Maggie walked over to the girl and knelt on the grass in front of her.
"Hello there, Halley. I'm Magnolia, but you can call me Maggie if you like." The girl looked at her in complete surprised and asked, "How did you know my name?" Maggie smiled and said, "I'm psychic. I saw those older boys picking on your hair. I think it's beautiful. I don't want anyone here leaving without a good time, the Ringleader would agree whole heartily. You see, dear Halley. I need a partner for my act." Maggie acted a little sad, giving a pouty face. She huffed and looked at the girl sadly, "My partner was accidentally turned into a horse and I don't have time to change him back. I was wondering if you could be apart of it. Please? It involves a story and you will be able to fly." Maggie looked at the girl, puckering out her lower lip, giving her a plea look. The six year old girl felt so special. She nodded happily and said, "Yes, ma'am." Magnolia's face went into a smile and clasped her hands, "Thank you, Miss Halley!" With that, she picked up the girl, putting her on Maggies hip. "She will be back, during the show. Just be sure to have your arms out to her, okay?" She adult nodded and smiled, waving off the girls. The kids that were teasing Halley for her long hair, came over. "What about us?" Maggie raised her eyebrow and shrugged, "I'm sorry, kids. Miss Hailey is the perfect size and the right length of hair. Besides, you all seemed to have fun teasing this poor girl. Think before you act." With that, Maggie took the little girl in the tent, with the other performers. She waited for the next performance, with the girl on her hip. The little girl looked around at the performers and whispered to Magnolia while holding on to her, "Miss Maggie, that man out there, he looks kinda scary. Is he mean?" "No, not really," She smiled at the girl as she held onto her. When Kale had finished speaking, Magnolia looked at Halley, "Now, when we go on, we are going to be going in the air. If you ever get scared, hold onto my hands tightly, okay? I promise I won't anything happen to you." "Yes, ma'am!" Halley smiled while holding onto the psychic.

I will tell you your fortune and the out come...
What you do, is you're decision. You control your stars.

After Maggie and Haley watched the first act, the little girl looked at the Psychic and said, "Do you think we can do just as good as them?" Maggie looked at the little girl and said, "I don't know, Miss Haley. The most important thing is that everyone has fun. Come on, we are next." Magnolia walked out with the little girl on her hip, clinging to her side. She waved a little as she walked to the center of the stage, to the large metal moon with marks engraved in it. She waved to the crowd and curtsied while having the little girl on her hip. "Hello and Welcome to Le Cirque Des Horreus~! I am Miss Magnolia Moon and this is my friend Haley. Please say hello, Miss Haley.""Hello," She greeted meekly before hiding in to her side. Maggie smiled at the girl and sat down on the metal moon. She put the girl on her lap, crossing her ankles. She pulled out a book that hid behind the moon and gave it to Haley. "Today, we are reading you all a story."

Using her powers, Magnolia started making the moon float as Haley opened the thin book. The music started and the lights dimmed, fading to purple and blue. White dot lights filled the top like constellations.
"This story is missing a wishing well, no mirror to show and tell, no kiss that can break the spell, I'm falling asleep. Every Prince is a fantasy, the witch is inside of me, her poison will wash away, the memory." Haley started reading the book and lean on Maggie, making a deep sigh. She started to zone out and fall asleep while reading the book. "We kill the lights," The lights died completely and went black before turning back on, showing how high they were. "And put on a show..." The Moon started to drop rapidly and the crowd gasps and jump before the moon stopped and rise. "It's all a lie, but you'd never know. The star will shine and then it will fall. And then you will forget it all." The moon started turning a bit, as she wrapped her arms around the girl as she read the book. Maggie kept singing as the little girl was completely relaxed. Good, she wasn't worried or frightened. A childs mind is so flexible and amazing. "After midnight we're all the same, no glass shoe to bring us fame, no body to take the blame. We're falling apart, every story is a waiting a game, a flower for every name, the colors are paling in the falling rain." The moon rose and stopped spinning. "We kill the lights," The lights died completely again and turned back on. "And put on a show..." The Moon started to drop rapidly again and the crowd went on an uproar. Then stopped a few inches above ground before rising again. "It's all a lie, but you'd never know. The story will shine and then it will fall and you will forget it all. Now you know, it's so much better to pretend that there's something waiting for you here. Every letter that you wrote has found it's way to me my dear." The moon levitated over to the chaperone and as she handed Hailey to him as she held the book. She let the girl keep it for memories. She waved and smiled at Magnolia. The moon levitated back to the center as she crossed her legs and held onto the moon. "You cane make believe that You can make believe that what you say is what I want to hear. I'll keep dancing through this beautiful delusional career. Faking every tear. Looking like a compromise suicide. Keeping my dreams alive." The music kept playing as the moon descended and she excited the ring and into the back. The crowd cheered as the music stopped and the next act started. Magnolia walked over to Kale and smiled,"See, sir? I was careful. Do you like the opening night so far?" She smiled happily up at him.

Cathleen stood back and off to the side as she watched the twins and their sister perform. Her arms were crossed over her body as she looked on with her usual unamused look on her features. It seemed like the act was better than it had been that morning with the added fall as actually part of the act this time. She applauded with the audience before crossing her arms once more and stepping out of the way for Magnolia and the child to come across the stage. She watched for a moment before disappearing behind everything, checking her make-up and outfit in the mirror to make sure everything was perfect before removing her boots and sliding on the slippers that went with her outfit. Once everything looked just right, she busied herself with stretches, knowing that as soon as Maggie was done, she was to take the stage. Hearing the roar of the crowd, she knew it was her turn and she made her way to the sides, watching as the psychic made her exit before she made her way out to it.

The girl smirked at the crowd and bowed, straightening up as two large pieces of silk fabric rolled to the ground on either side of her, still attached high above where the crowd couldn't see.
"Bienvenue au Cirque Des Horreurs, petits chéris. I am Cathleen Nevina White, and I am here to amaze." Cathleen took the straps into her hands as the music started, looking upward as she reached her hands up to grab higher. Hopping up, she tangled herself within the cloth, wrapping it around her torso and spinning up higher and higher, completely sideways. The crowd watched transfixed as she performed different movements, using nothing but the straps to hold her in the air. She span and swung herself along with the music, contorting her body into different and interesting positions within the cloth she used, performing the trick she had practiced earlier - falling to the ground with nothing but one strap wrapped around her ankle to stop her just before smashing into the ground. Cathy grinned as the crowd screamed at that one, sure she was plummeting to a horrible accident.

Everything ran smoothly until her final move. Cathleen had spun herself up as high as she could remain in sight for the crowd, releasing one strap and putting all her light weight on the other. As she worked to position herself accurately for the act, the clip holding the fabric up snapped and she was suddenly hurling towards the ground. Cathleen's eyes went wide and she reached out for the other strap desperately as the crowd gasped loudly. It all felt like slow motion in the moment, finally wrapping her fingers around the other strap only a few feet from the ground and swinging on it as the broken strap fell to the ground with a loud clang. She ended her act then, spinning gracefully to the ground and bowing to the cheering crowd, holding her smile although she was ready to tear someone a new one for the mishap.

Cathleen made her way off stage, ignoring those who asked if she was alright and wanting to know what happened. She had a target and her mind was pretty one tracked at the moment. Her eyes finally fell to Jesse and her face twisted in anger, storming up to him and grabbing him by the shoulders, slamming him into a support beam.
"What the HELL was that?! Why wasn't that strap fastened down properly, b***h boy?! You're lucky I didn't break a ******** limb you son of a b***h!" She glared hard at him, seething in her anger. "It happens again, and I'll have your head! Do I make myself clear, you worthless b*****d?" Cathleen continued to glare at him, awaiting his answer, not paying attention to anyone other than the man she was holding against a pole.

((OOC: I may be rather scarce this week. I have four papers to write and finals next week I have to study for gonk but I'm sure I'll go insane if I don't fit some RPing in there somewhere. BUT - just letting you know in case I disappear...))
Translation: "Welcome to the Circus of Horrors, little darlings."

Jesse waited out his lunch, thinking it had gone well, but the thought of Chloe kept entering his mind. Was she alright? Had she had anymore mishaps today? Feeling rude for even thinking it, he waited for the appropriate time and cleaned up their plates, taking the garbage to the trash can. He thanked her for letting him repay her, and shortly after excused himself to go back to work. He ran his tail off for the remainder of the evening, doing everything that was asked of him. He made it a point to pass the ticket booth to check on Chloe, nodding to her with a half smile as he passed carrying a few pieces of large ply wood over his shoulder. Sweat poured off of him, even though the day had turned to be rather chilly as summer hadn't fully set in yet. When the show was near starting time, Jesse bought a bottle of cold water and drank it down, thanking Maggie mentally for the warning about time earlier.

He stood on the sidelines, exchanging nods with Kale, then turning his attention to the stage. He watched the acts go on, getting a bit more intrigued as time passed. What a wonder this place truly was, especially for someone who believed they had no special talent. When Cathleen's act began he was amazed that anyone could even move in such ways, twisting around and having full control like she had. Suddenly one of the silky cloths caused the clip on the top to fail, sending her toward the ground. Luckily she caught herself and walked away without a scratch. The next thing Jesse knew, he was being held up against a pole by a raging Cathleen. He stared at her in utter disbelief. Keeping his voice hushed as not to draw unwanted attention from the audience, he responded.
"Hey! Don't look at me! That wasn't my fault, I didn't instal that support system, no one asked me to! Though clearly someone should have. If I had done it, it wouldn't have failed period. Next time you want something done right, how about you ask someone who knows what the hell they are doing! If you don't ask me, and someone else screws up, do everyone a favor and tear into the right person next time!"

Jesse grabbed Cathleen's hands and forced them off of himself with an odd power and heat coming off of him. It was almost inhuman, but could be mistaken for pure anger. He had had a stressful day taking orders from everyone and almost never getting a 'thank you' in return. He leaned down nearly nose to nose with her, in a very threatening demeanor.
"None of this is even my problem and I am getting blamed? I don't think so. I am so sick of taking everyone's crap around here! Next time you need a favor jump off your high horse and ask me, I would be more than happy to oblige just as long as you don't mind someone doing your dirty work that is apparently so far beneath you. And by the way, I suggest you do away with the name calling. Sticks and stones to me there sweetheart, but you might just piss off the wrong person." He looked up and gestured behind her. Standing in the distance, Kale looked to her with a grim glare on his face. An expression so dark, that if looks could kill, she would be a dead woman. Jesse backed up and walked off, exiting the tent. He swung his fist in frustration, connecting with a vehicle at full swing. He dented the crap out of it, but it never moved anyway so what was the difference? It belonged to a man who was already deceased, and no one cared to claim it.

His knuckles reddened a bit but he didn't seem to care. He ran his hands through his hair and rested his back against the vehicle, sliding down to sit. His elbows rested on his knees as he ran his fingers through his hair again and kept them there, resting his head on his hands. 'Why do I feel so drained all of a sudden...' he thought to himself, feeling fatigue creep up on him. Was it stress? Overworking? Or was it that odd power he unknowingly displayed toward Cathleen? He had no idea, and he was sure once Kale was done with Cathy, he would be next. Bracing himself for that encounter, he stayed in his position and closed his eyes.

Kale watched interestedly at the first act, counting the mistakes and growing irritated. Why were they so shaky? What was with the missteps? Irritated he glared at the three of them as they exited the stage saying nothing. When Maggie approached the stage, he watched her just as closely, surprisingly pleased with her display. He thought the little one quite eye catching for the audience to keep focus. When she exited the stage, his hand brushed her arm as he appeared behind her. When she turned around, he raised the corner of his mouth in that certain way, presenting her with a black rose as he always did on opening nights. His trademark dark violet ribbon tied to it. "Bravo mon ami! Excellent performance, I am pleased with yours, though the trio I may just...cut." His attention became distracted a bit as Cathleen began her act, feeling it unfair to not give her the same attention as the others.

He stood beside Maggie for a moment, watching her move, and hoping she wouldn't mess up. The clang of the clip hitting the stage floor, forced him to grimace, furious that so far the only perfect act had been Maggie's. Why weren't these people ready?! He glared at her though she didn't see it, and he watched as she immediately assaulted Jesse and blamed him for the faulty act. This infuriated him. Finally having enough and watching Jesse walk away, he felt the need to protect him as Maggie had requested it of him. As he turned from the psychic, determination filled his expression.
"Oh for the love of darkness...I am going to be very full by the end of tonight I can feel it..." He approached Cathleen and whipped her around, closing his hand around her throat, and lifting her into the air effortlessly. Holding her up against the same pole she had just used against Jesse. He glared into her eyes as flickers of flames covered his iris'. "I am so tired of you and Cassandra's antics! You will not treat my advocates in such a way. You are just as low on the food chain as everyone else. Just because you are Cassie's friend, doesn't give you any special privileges. He didn't make the mistake, you did. It was your performance, your mistake, and your problem. Grow up and atone for your mistakes like an adult or so help me, I will end you this very moment."

He gripped her throat tighter and began to absorb energy from her, powerful enough to take it without the presence of her soul. He gave her the one warning, and nearly choked the life from her before letting her collapse to the ground.
"Play nicely, because next time I won't go so easily on you." He stalked away from her and looked up to see Malachi entering the arena. Hoping with all he had that maybe he wouldn't let him down. He took his place beside Maggie and sighed with stress all over his tone. Saying nothing he looked out at the stage, seething over the disrespect Cathy and Cassie had displayed today.
