angelic_takiko I figured but I didn't want to assume. I can usually pick it up, but it is harder with people who are usually serious. And I am reading plain text. Also, I see you missed the "Captain Planet" reference. For shame, such an entertaining slice of 90's era cartoons. And if your co-captain can pick-up off the fly, then she's a much better humorist than me (; Jikial has a pretty twisted sense of style but he's a real cool cucumber. = w=
It was still nice to know your point of view though and I'm sure you're not the only person to hold that opinion about a walk-in RP.

I think I joined this guild around the time it grew scarcely inactive. However, I am thrilled and excited to see a return from the ashes with this. As some have said I believe we should focus on the members that are in the guild first, work on the inside and once that is stabilized we can begin recruiting.
I fell there are a lot of good ideas for improvement here!

Okay. I am officially out of town so that is going to set back me making the new topic. I apologize.
I will try to find time to start writing it up again. I think for now, i am going to bare-bones it and then beautify the opening post with graphics later. Beggars can't be choosers *sigh*.
Since, I intentionally did not bring my drawing pad with me on this trip out of town, I am probably going to kick over to writing mode  So, fingers crossed.

While it has been some time since I've been on here, I was an avid roleplayer for a while in this guild and would love to see it blossom once more. Anything you need help with, please consider me on board.

There will be an event and a recruitment thread underway soon.
Please let us know what might get you roleplaying in here again! We'd love to hear it! Give us stories about roleplays and roleplayers and things to see if we can't recreate that experience. We're here for you and you're here for...what was it again?
Roleplaying.
So help us help you get what you want.
Don't forget to chatterbox while you're at it, make a connection with someone.
Our Revival PARTY YEAH, is a walk-in event for anybody, and will be treated more/less like an official roleplay depending on what you guys do in it. It'll have elements of horror (because I'm that way) as well as a lot of surreal and black comedy.
But don't let that stop you, if you'd rather not experience that, just stay and mingle with other people's characters.

A constantly updated thread for advertisement purposes of rps both in and outside of the guild would be really helpful.
I think we need to get away from the whole idea of the guild being for the sole purpose of roleplaying within the guild, but should expand to better the experience for all roleplayers on Gaia. If ambassadors from the guild offered free role playing help, whether it's through joining rps that need people, helping a first time mod get an rp off the ground, helping new rpers create character skeletons, etc. I think we would not only better the community but also gain a lot of new members through the process.
I also think a thread that hosts original rp ideas for people to start up if they want a new rp but can't think of anything could be rockin'.

skrull pirate I also think a thread that hosts original rp ideas for people to start up if they want a new rp but can't think of anything could be rockin'. Seconded. I usually take more time trying to write-up the propaganda in the opening post that could be spent on the graphics (I can't help it they go hand in hand in my head) But when it comes to actual roleplaying i have no trouble spitting out responses or producing story relevant filler in-between character interactions. I tried watching Mad Men to fix the propaganda problem, but just ended up learning how to look introspective while smoking and drinking...

A thread for ideas an interesting thought. So something like RP prompts for prospective GMs? What do you have in mind in terms of where these RP ideas would come from, and how thorough do you think these ideas should be?

I guess the topic "RP Ideas for Wannabe RP makers" is too striaght forward?
As for the format, People could simply post their idea and when the idea is taken, the person over the topic would get an pm or better yet, the person taking the idea could pm the person who is giving the idea and then the person giving the idea could edit their post by crossing out the words and writing the name of the RP underneath.
I thought it needed a flowchart: Person A post idea -> Person B finds idea -> Person B pms Person A -> Person A strikesthrough idea -> Person A posts name and location underneath strikethrough -> Persons C-Z see idea, read name, and go to location

I hope I'm not intruding on this thread, but I thought this idea was especially worth the risk. I would be more than willing to take an 'ambassadorial' role, as mentioned here. I think many guilds have issues starting up due to a lack of players these days (in most areas of the internet, it seems); having dedicated players willing to seek out and join guilds of their choice genre(s) is an excellent way to encourage the continuation of RP ideas that would otherwise fizzle out early on due to lack of participation. The question, then, is how to organize such a group of 'ambassadors'? Should the guild stick to what it already has, or should some changes/additions be made to the current system?

Make a topic comes to mind. And who knows if these players need more one-on-one assistance, they could be invited into the guild, go through tutoring, and then give them the option of staying in the guild and become a new ambassador/member. People like options.

angelic_takiko Make a topic comes to mind. Having a single thread for ambassadors to sign-up on is a good first step. After that, though, I think a more proactive approach for ambassadors would work best. Basically, instead of making a thread/post telling others that the ambassador is ready to take RP requests, the ambassador can seek out other players and ask if they would like a helping hand with their guild. I believe Gaia Forums still has a surprisingly active Roleplay Community, with threads dedicated to new stories. That might be the best place to start. Ambassadors should also be able to help each other out in seeking RPs consistent with their preferred genre and/or style of play. To make this work, a field for 'preferred genres' and 'RP style' should be included in the ambassador form. If an ambassador finds a guild that matches another ambassador's preferred genre/style, said ambassador can look at the list and contact others with preferred genres/styles similar to the guild in question.
