She looked back as a cool wind blew, blowing some hair around her face. She looked to Tala nodding. "Okay...let's go. Maybe Caran is in the mountains somewhere. I've.....never left the castle or the town before. This.....feels very different." She said softly, admitting she had never left the ice castle till yesterday. It happened so fast and she looked down some, watching her breath show before her before looking to Tala after a moment of pause. "I'm....nervous. What usually is in the mountains? What's normally outside the ice castle and town?" she asked softly, uncertainty in her eyes though she tried to hide it, failing to hide her nerves from him at the thought of traveling outside the lands she's grown up in all her life.

It had been some minutes of silence before she spoke again her voice trembling a little. "Will.....will you always be by me to help and....I'll....do my best to learn and then....if we need we fight together?" she asked softly looking to the ground then to Tala again, holding the reins firmly but gently in her hands.

"I've never come this way." Tala replied bluntly, "With Caran, or alone..." he guessed with the wind starting to blow, it could turn treacherous... Snowstorms would no doubt be rife in such an area, along with bandits and beasties...but he was afraid to tell her that just incase his suspicions were true...

"I can't guarantee anything...but I'll try." he wasn't used to making promises, Caran had asked very little of him and he'd never needed to promise anything...

"We'd better get going... Caran was worried about the darkness catching up with us...it must be close...I can feel it..." getting the impression she was cold, he removed his jacket and tossed it to her, his skin prickling in the cold air as he flicked the reins and set his horse on the move again...

Click to show.Rosa watched him nodding a thank you as she held his coat close to her around her as she also flicked her reins following him, staying near him. "Thank you Tala. Just do your best. I'll learn how to fight and then I can also help you more if needed." She said softly nodding gently as she rode beside him, looking around, she took in the new sights before looking behind them, swallowing as she seen the black castle that had once been white and bright like a beacon of hope but now was a beacon of disrepair and darkness. Looking forwards again she followed still, listening to the wind blow she watched Tala. "Are you cold? If you are you can have you coat. I don't want you to get sick or to be cold."

She didn't want him to be cold just because she didn't have a cloak or coat or anything with her. She was silent, looking at the dead trees, listening to their bark creaking and cracking under the cold wind and snow on them. Under the snow could be seen rocks and small points of where the ground was changing from dirt to stone up some ways. Looking to the sky she seen it was a clear sky but seemed to have a slight dark hint to it, sending a shiver down her spine and through her body as she looked ahead again, the silence around them making her feel uncomfortable. She tried to think of something to say to make conversation but didn't know what to say to start a conversation to break the silence.

"I'm fine." Tala couldn't help his blunt replies, but he wasn't used to speaking much... Caran had gotten used to his lack of speech and tended to only ask him when things were needed...

He could sense she wasn't used to the silence, but wasn't sure how to carry a conversation... "So...the palace... What's it like?" he knew the conversation would swirl back round to him eventually, but figured she needed to do something... His eyes scanned the dead trees and surroundings as they passed, he wasn't expecting to see anything, but was looking purely for anything that could prove obstructive...

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Rosa looked to him as she heard the question giving a tiny smile looking ahead as she spoke after thinking. "It's....good. It's different but it's nice. You have maids and servants to do things for you. Maids make your bed for you and they clean your room and the windows. The servants will bring you food and drinks or items if you ask them to. The beds are so soft and the rooms all so warm yet somehow the castle never melted." Rosa said, smiling softly a little more.

Rosa had paused then continued. "When evening came mother would sit and read with me, we read one of her books she'd picked from our library. I would pay more attention to my own book I had picked. She would tell me I needed to stop reading fantasy stories and read more logical books that had facts in them. I wouldn't listen and then father would come and joke with me. I used to have a brother as well but he some reason one day left. He told me to guard his room and he'd come back with a great present for me when he would return. Mother never said where he went or when he would return. But...it's nice at the castle yet....at times it feels like I'm being smothered."

She said sighing. "It's wonderful but at times it feels like I'm being smothered by everyone. Mother telling me to dress nicely this way or that. The adviser telling me what my daily schedule is that day and what times I must be where and what to say if I am unsure. It can be over whelming being royal." She said sighing softly again before looking to Tala. "Where did you grow up? What was your parents like?" she asked giving a soft smile to him. Her eyes told him if he didn't want to answer she wouldn't push the matter but was curious.

"Sune." He breathed a sigh as he said this, not sure how he'd explain to her how he'd grown up and survived alone in a forest that was impenetrable to all but those with access to very powerful magic... "and I don't know my real parents..." he kept his eyes focussed ahead of them, "The only living person I've known longer than those in Sune, was Caran..."

The Red Mage had heard very little more of Tala's past than what he relayed to Rosa now, although he had been more than aware of the boy's nightmares... Tala had remained aloof and said little after their initial meeting; the fight between them had been short, yet great...and it was the time that passed after his first encounter with the Mage that allowed the male some form of sanity towards the world he was now beginning to learn about...

User ImageBack at the castle Sino entered the throne room, walking pleased, smirking in his dark royal clothing. He came up to one of the pillars, snapping his fingers as he watched it ripple and move, showing Caran but kept hold of him as it had with the Queen when he was speaking to her earlier on. He came up to Caran smirking, one eye going red. "Hello there, miss me? Seems it was oh to easy to catch you off guard. You met my pet, Rosin I see and seems you still remember her and she you." Sino said chuckling giving a dark laugh as he tapped Caran's cheek turning to walk away and did a few steps then walked around and turned smiling to Caran. "Do you like what I have done with the place? I am happy to say I am pleased with my remodeling." He stated chuckling again, loving seeing Caran as his prisoner, finding it worked to good for him in his favor.

"It certainly compliments the shadows..." Caran snorted, his reply intended to come across snide and sarcastic... "No doubt you've done the same to her majesty? Were you afraid she'd cast you back into the pit from which you crawled?" Had he not been unable to move, he would have tried beating upon the glass, instead he pondered resorting to his magic, thinking up a mantra he could chant that might shatter his prison...

"I hope you understand, the Princess will push through where her mother failed; and no doubt my boy will aid her in her quest!" he raised his voice, fully confident in his apprentice, "You won't stand a chance against them! They'll strike you down!" he decided this point was as good as any to begin chanting, hoping his outburst would set the Demon King on a rant that would distract him from hearing his mantras...

User ImageSino narrowed his eyes glaring at Caran, giving a dark laugh. "You think I fear that pitiful woman? You are mistaken!" Sino snapped glaring at Caran. "You are so weak it is truly laughable and your little apprentice is so weak he shall be my puppet soon. Once he is I will have him kill that stupid little Princess for me and then I'll let him see what he did and make him suffer. I'll make him beg for the darkness to be one with him. I'll bring him to be my new pet then when he is I can get rid of that stupid worn out woman but until then I can use the woman Rosin till she's done. All these people are are pawns to me and nothing more. I can easily discard them and get new without any trouble." Sino ranted, walking around, not aware of Caran's mantra's.

"I'll kill the stupid Queen and her stupid daughter. No one is going to put me away again. No one is going to over power me! No one!" Sino snapped shouting at Caran before moving his hand out to the floor, making it show him and Caran Tala and Rosa. "Aw how cute, they're riding together. To bad their little ride is going to get....let's say....interrupted." He said with a dark evil smirk watching the scene then he snapped, forming a beast of darkness, it resembled a horse but yet it was broad like a bull and had red eyes with sharp teeth and claws on its feet. It gave a horrible whine as it put its front feet up then brought them down, its back having hoofs as it then ran after Tala and Rosa. "hehehe let's see your little apprentice handle this. It's a monster of my creation. It's a I like to call a Horido. It'll catch up to them and rip them apart. Then you'll have no apprentice and that stupid girl will be dead, killing any hope anyone who hates me from getting rid of me." Sino said smugly laughing and began to walk away. "I'll let you watch the scene so you may see their bloody gory deaths and hear their screams of pain." Sino said walking away smirking, happy with himself.

Realising his apprentice and the Princess were in grave danger, he changed his spell from one that was hoping could free himself, to another...This one would shoot a light skyward, finding its way out of the castle before exploding and drawing the pair's attention towards the castle, and in turn to approaching enemy... He knew that Sino would no doubt become aware of it and be more than a little ticked off at his attempt to warn the pair...but what he did to him didn't matter...

The orb found the quickest way out, travelling up the pillar in which Caran had been sealed and smashing through the nearest window before shooting up towards the sky...

On the trail, Tala would hear the distant explosion of something close to a firework and turn to glance behind them, seeing the trailing embers before dropping his eyes to a large, dark shadow approaching them at speed...

"Hold on!" his eyes snapped towards Rosa and he landed a hard slap to the rump of Caran's horse upon which she was riding... It would no doubt give a wail and charge off ahead of them - he would then follow, trusting the horse to trail its companion whilst he kept his attention on the advancing creature behind them... He had to think up some way to defeat it - and quickly...!

Rosa looked to him confused then held onto the reins tighter and yelped but held on, lowering her body forwards some as she didn't bother to stop the horse as the beast chasing them gave another horrible wailing sound as it continued to chase them. Rosa looked back, gasping as she seen this her eyes widening in fear before looking to Tala. "What in the world is that thing?!" She shouted in fear her voice shaking before looking to the beast again and then forwards not wanting to stare at it as it didn't slow down. It ran showing it had great force as it pushed on a tree, breaking it as it appeared easily as it never slowed.

It jumped around anything in the way as it ran, its eyes locked on Tala and Rosa both, its sharp teeth bared as it growled, some drool falling from its mouth, longing to have the pair for its meal, a starving look to its eyes. Rosa kept hold of the reins as Caran's horse didn't slow down but kept up its speed, sensing the danger, following the path and avoiding anything in its path that could slow it down and cause its death or Rosa's death.

"No idea...!" Tala called back, "But it looks hungry!"

He had considered drawing his daggers and lunging at it, but the creature would probably swallow him whole...

Tala returned his attention to the road ahead for a brief moment and spotted a small opening in the advancing mountain... Glancing back towards the creature which was gaining ground, he forced his horse to catch up with Rosa's, then as the cave came up, he suddenly lunged towards her, pushing her from her horse and towards the mouth of the cave...

Keeping a tight grip of her he took the brunt of the fall and the pair rolled a few feet into the cave as the horses continued onwards...

He figured the sudden impact would have been a shock for her, but there was little time to linger - especially if the creature caught up with the horses and realised they were no longer riding them...

"Get to the back!" He half dragged her to her feet, leading her towards the back of the cave where the distance between them and the entrance should be far enough that the beast couldn't reach them...

Click to show.Rosa looked at him and screamed as she was tackled by him, holding onto him tightly and closed her eyes tightly, letting a grunt like yelp escape her open lips as she held onto him, rolling. When they would stop rolling inside the cave she opened her eyes only to stumble and give another yelp as he pulled after helping her up. Rosa ran with him panting, holding her dress up so not to trip over it. "Okay! I'm coming!" She said panting hard as she ran with him, looking back behind them then to Tala again before speaking, swallowing first. "What on earth was that thing?! Where did that come from? Is that what lives outside of the castle and the town?" She asked quickly, fear in her voice of that thing finding them.

She could hear it wail out its weird whine, making her shiver and her skin to crawl. It had realized they were not on the horses and was now on the move trying to find them, wailing again as it searched, retracing its trail as it began its search, growling. The cave shook making her scream as it rammed its body into the cave opening, trying to get into it but it was too broad with its upper body to get inside but kept trying, wanting to kill its prey.

"I don't know...!" Tala panted, having never seen such a thing before, even the monsters in Sune weren't like that... "We need to keep moving." He kept her running until he was sure they were far enough inside the cave to be safe...then he slowed down so Rosa could catch her breath...

The roars of the creature's attempt to get inside could still be heard, resonating along the cave walls; Tala eventually slowed to a stop before releasing his grip on Rosa and slumping down against the wall.

"We should be safe...for now..." he lent his head back against the wall as he tried to catch his breath; "It's...too big...to follow..." he shut his eyes, chest heaving as he drew deeper breaths to calm himself...

He opened his eyes after a while, quickly realising Rosa might not be able to see as well in the dark as he could - and it was pretty dark... Carefully he created an orb of pale, blue light to illuminate a small portion of the area around them, releasing it to float without his touch...

"...Are you alright?"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Rosa slowed as he did and stood still before sitting down panting hard and nodded, looking around some. She could not see well in the dark and was feeling nervous and scared as the echos of the beast were around. She slowly moved closer to Tala for help, reaching out for him only to pause as the soft pale blue orb formed and floated about. She blinked and sighed. "Thank you. That helps. I'm okay just....scared. I can't....I can't stop shaking." Rosa said softly, her body was shaking and not from the cold it was from fear she had never felt till that moment of being chased. She moved closer sitting near Tala but didn't go against him, not sure he'd enjoy that much. She didn't realize yet the cut on her hand that was bleeding, a good slice across her palm from when they rolled due to a rock that had been sticking up out of the ground. "I'm glad it can't get in but....how do we get out with it out there?"

Rosa asked swallowing as she looked to Tala pushing her glasses up after closing her eyes and leaned back some, resting her hand on her lap, her palm up because it had began to throb and hurt but she figured it was just sore from the gripping of the reins so tight earlier. Opening her eyes she looked down and eeped jumping a little as she seen the cut on her hand. It wasn't deep but enough to allow blood to come out of it some. "Oh man, oh man, I hope that thing can't smell blood." She said with worry, biting her lower lip.
