I like this theme, it has a nice "go get them" feeling to it. Seems fitting for a boss theme. Though I know nothing of the game admittedly I still quite enjoy this theme. The instruments seem to tell of a difficult battle to come, but a challenge that may yet be welcomed by the hero's. I like this, so I'm giving it an 8.5/10

Now then, I'll move away from BlazBlue's amazing soundtrack (in my opinion at least) and onto a different soundtrack.... lets see here..... aha!

Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 - Knight Gundam's Theme I'd post the composer and what not but I have no honset clue, I just know that the music kicks a** and it's difficult to hear when your hearing 100 other gundams blowing up because you unleash a giant beam of pain.

Oh Dynasty Warriors I haven't played that series in ages. Despite being contrary to my normal tastes in video game music I have always liked the Dynasty Warriors' music. It just fits the games like a glove in my opinion especially the Gundam games.

I give a 9/10

Now for some Total War Imperial Conflict from Rome: Total War by Jeff Van Dyck who I believe did all of RTW's music.

P.S. exploding Gundams do make it difficult to hear music indeed.

Ah, Total War, there's a guy on another website that I go to who LP's that series quite frivolously. I've always wanted to read one of his LP's on a Total War game, but they're like fifteen pages long! D;

While the piece did have a very powerful percussion, I felt as though it undermined the strings' attempt at trying to add tension. At the very beginning, I had to really listen for the vibrato in the strings. The brass made this piece shine- that is when it did come it. The percussion was a bit repetitive, but strong nonetheless. Overall, while it did not add any memorable melodies, it did fit the concept perfectly, of a tense work.

Pandemonium Castle from Final Fantasy II by Nobuo Uematsu

Which is one of two FF's I play over and over, other being V. cool
PostPosted: Tue Jan 03, 2012 7:57 pm

I WAS going to avoid posting more FF Music, but you just twisted my arm, and it will be the music that has so much symbolism that it scares even me.

But first, the review: *pauses Holy ThunderForce to listen to the song*

Now I never listened to the original version of it, but considering this is where The Emperor is hiding it has very fitting music. Though it is limited in what it can do, it establishes a vibe that leaves you both un-nerved and excited for what it to come. Over all this theme fits as the Big Bad's castle which you have finally reached after a game that severly punishes you for slightly going off the tracks of it's railroad. I know, it's happened to me more than once in the re-made version. Still, not as punishly difficult as 3 I have to say.

All in all, this theme is a classic and should be preserved forever in a gaming museum. A very solid 9/10 From me.

Now then, onto MY theme from Final Fantasy, it is in many peoples opinions one of the greatest themes for one of the greatest (if not crazest) of all of Final Fantasy's Big Bads. I'm talking about Kefka and Dancing Mad.

though I may have posted it before... if I have I'll post an alternitive song below it. You can still listen to Dancing Mad if you would like, but if it's already been done please review the secondary one.

Going with His World, cause Dancing Mad is like seventeen minutes long, I'm familiar with the track and all, just, I'd have to talk about five separate songs (the movements) if I rated that piece, and then rate them separately, and find an average, and the text wall would be unfathomable. sad

The synth-violin had much in common with the Dragonball Z synth, and I support that entirely. I felt as though the composer had a magnificent melody in their mind when they composed this piece. Although examining this piece from the eyes of a musician, I noticed that the electric guitar's part consisted of two notes played repetitively over and over, with an occasional descending scale.
Although, one can say that this piece was in ABA form, however, I felt as though the whole two note figure was a bit underwhelming in light to the violin's part.

Now it's time for Ishtar's embarrassing confessions!
>I have never played any Sonic game, or touched a Sega.< redface

7.8/10- excellent quality, dig the synth, very climatic sounding, but the repetitive guitar lick hurt the piece I felt.

Battle with a General- from Destiny of an Emperor by Hiroshige Tonomura

Which is supposed to be an RPG of Dynasty Wars if anyone is familiar with that game.

Then again, what game ISN'T based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms in one way or another?

It's about time Nom got back to these. Anyways it has that important fight feeling, but to me it just feels like it is lacking something. I'm not sure if it is due to how old it is but...I just feel that it could have more of a better touch to it. 7/10

Nice bubbly sort of techno beat. Pretty good 6/10
To the peakfrom final fantasy 12.

While the piece did have a good beginning, with a climatic string line, it went into a calm section? I felt as though the calm parts were a bit arbitrary for trying to portray a climatic setting. However, like I said, I greatly enjoyed the bouncy string line that featured every now and then. As well as that, I must say, I quite enjoy FFXII brass to a great deal.

8/10

Your link does not work, do you mind trying to fix it?
If you need help, I can help.

Also, do feel free to comment on the quality of the instruments used in the piece, any visuals you got from it, details of what exactly what was "Bubbly" about the piece. Good to see you posting! emotion_c8

I do need help with the link. Also I love classic 8 bit music. This proves that you don't need orchestra to make great music. Beeping can be just as good. After you help me with the link I need another one for the final boss theme of dq9
Edit: here it is one of my favorite video game songsTime of decisive battle

Again, please expand on your ideas. What was good about the piece? What keeps you from listening to it repetitively? What about the quality of the instruments in the piece? You don't need to write an essay, or even go as detailed as I usually do, but please expand on ides. Also, leave a --/10, as it helps to reiterate your stand on the composition that you listened to. emotion_c8

As for the piece, I did not enjoy the beginning all that much, I found it to be rather underwhelming, being a single string instrument playing the same note, and an occasional crash. However, as the piece progressed, it threw away the whole concept of the stings taking the lead, moving into an Adagio paced setting. Although it may have been nice, in the long run, it undermined the whole beginning, as if to say the beginning did not exist at all.

Later on, the battle theme got picked up, with a fast percussion part, in which I quite enjoyed. If it didn't have such a random beginning, I would have felt that this piece could have done much better. 7.5/10

I won't lie. I enjoyed this piece. It reminds me of the sister game, Oracle of Seasons when (spoiler) You set off on a pirate ship manned by skeletons to reach one of the latter dungeons (/spoiler). It's got that feel of setting off for some great challenge, but at the same time I can see it as a voyage of sorts. Thanks for the nostalgia. 8.5/10

I'll mirror Ishtur's move by putting up Tarm Ruins from the sister game Oracle of Seasons, composed by 'M-Adachi' and 'Kyopi', as Ishtur kindly put it. XD

You stole the song I was going to link in here one of these days! Well darn you! But anyways as a couple people know I LOVE this theme! It is one of my favorite pieces in Oracle of Seasons/Ages. Just something about the music always gets to me so I'm gonna give it a good ole 9/10.

oh Super Mario 64 how I loved you. I also happen to love organs. I now love you for posting this song nom. It really works as a boss theme. It just shoves the fact that it's a boss battle in your face and won't stop until you cry uncle. Organs are able to do dark sounding music very well. I give it a 9.5 because i might have some bias with this being a huge nostalgia trip for me.
