Shinzu watched as Masaruku launched her attack, some people could be impatient at times. Unfortunately as Shinzu watched Masaruku he lost site of one of the bandits. Looking around franticaly Shinzu couldn't find him, crap, crap, crap! "Heads up I've lost visual on one of the bandits." Shinzu said over the radio to Batsu and Masaruku. "I'm going to keep looking but stay frosty." Shinzu signed from the radio and once again set about trying to find the bandit, after all, Masaruku seemed to have no trouble fighting the other one.

Some people lacked restraint. He waited patiently for Shinzu's command, but it was all for naught when Masaraku attacked one of the bandits. Great... just ******** great. Batsu stayed in the shadows as he went and grabbed a tag from his bag. He then quickly tied it to his arrow and waited ever so patiently for his chance to strike. He kept an eye on the one bandit with a bag, per request. If only others could follow directions...

Shinji had been careless. Even though he'd figured out there was something dodgy about the sword his body didn't follow the signals his brain was sending. In his fury, he fought too aggressively and went in too deep. Coupled with his relative inexperience in combat it was no wonder that he unable to even try to block Masaraku's blow. He staggered about, reeling. [edit/post more laterz, boat coming lolz] HP: 66 - 44 - 8 = 14 CP: 30 - 17 = 13

[late like a ~~boss~~! sorry!] Yeah, that needle hadn't gone very far. But that was the least of Kuroda's worries. Hokuto was down and it seemed that he had underestimated the blue girl's abilities. If he didn't do something fast, in a few moments he wouldn't be able to do anything at all. His mind was set. Kuroda stuck two fingers into his mouth before letting out a loud whistle. That was the signal to close the eyes for the immediately following flashbang. It was a crude escape tactic, one that hurt his allies as well as his enemies, but this was a desperate situation and it was the best he could do. In the split second before the flashbang blew he crouched down, closed his eyes and plugged his ears with his fingers - but of course, it wasn't of much effect. [Flee roll~!: d20 + dex mod 1 - Flashbang 20] To Chase Up To: d20 + dex mod vs. Flee roll. Flashbangs A ball which emits a tremendous flash of light that can temporarily blind an opponent. It will also extend any shadows, which can be beneficial for techniques such as the Nara clan's Shadow Imitation Technique (Kagemane no Jutsu). The flashbang also produces a large amount of sound which causes temporary deafness to anybody in immediate range. Effects: First round: Character is blinded, partially deaf and dazed resulting in -26 to all rolls. Character also loses the dex mod bonus to his dodge bonus. Next 10 rounds: Character slowly regains his vision and hearing and the penalty is reduced to -10 for 10 rounds. This penalty acts like a countdown that is reduced by -1 every round. Character can now add 1/2 his dex mod to his dodge bonus. Note: NPCs are subject to a smaller penalty due to lack of loss of vision so their penalty will be -20 in the first round and -4 for the next four rounds decreasing by 1 per round.

Hokuto stirred before slowly coming to. The first thing he heard was the sound of Shinji's yell, and the clanging of weapons. That immediately made him stiffen and feign dead for a moment. As he opened his eyes, though, his vision cleared and he could eventually see Shinji swaying around, red pouring from his neck through his yukata and dripping on the ground. There was no doubt about it. Hokuto was scared. What was supposed to be a routine raid had quickly turned deadly. But he had no time to dwell on that as he heard Kuroda's piercing whistle. Immediately, Hokuto closed his eyes and plugged his ears. After the flashbang had gone off, he attempted to get up and make a run for it. [1d20 + dex mod 2 - Flashbang 20] HP: 36 CP: 1

Shinji felt strangely lightheaded, and somehow knew that it wasn't just from blood loss, either. So this was what Hokuto had felt. It wasn't a weakness from working too hard, but rather that some fundamental spiritual bit of him was sucked bare. He found himself looking around at the scenery around him instead of Masaraku in order to try to calm himself down. It was then that he locked eyes with Batsu hiding in the tree. But he was given no more time to freak out about the situation as Kuroda's whistle shot through the air. Ah, so they were fleeing, Shinji thought sluggishly before realising what he had to do. Backing away from Masaraku (he had no interest in getting in another cheap shot before leaving. That weapon was just too deadly.) he hoped Kuroda's timing was right before closing his eyes and plugging his ears. After the flashbang went off and he reoriented his senses, Shinji registered with no surprise that he had been too close in proximity to the sound for his ear plugging to have had any effect. Oh well. It was time to leave. 1d20 + wis 2 + awareness 10 vs. 23 [Batsu] 2d20 + dex 3 - Flashbang 20 = Flee Roll HP: 14 CP: 13

(( 8+ 5 - 26 = -13 vs -6 [fail]))
Batsu had a clear shot and the apparent advantage over everyone in the fight. The boy had prepared his weapon for a shot at one of the enemies. It was all for nothing, because right as the boy was about to release the string of his bow, he was hit by a loud bang and a bright flash. As a reflex he closed his eyes tight. When he went to open his eyes again a short time later, he found himself unable to see anything at all. The boy was blinded and was in a massive amount of trouble. He was a sitting duck in a tree... and even worse; now he couldn't see the bandits.
((Batsu is now blinded, - 10 to next roll))

[10+1=Awareness 11] Prior to Flashbang [19+1= Stealth 20 + hidden mist = 41 Stealth] How is this effected by blindness? [Concentration 18 to find everyone in the chaos (It was going to be an attack, but I can't do that.] How is this effected by blindness?
As the flashbang went off Masaraku closed her eyes. She had tried to see it as it landed and only had enough time to turn away from it, but not to close her eyes or plug her ears. Instead she hit the ground and focused her chakra on the mist already around her, she began doing hand signs as she tucked her hand between her legs and used the hidden mist technique. The mist quickly became a dense fog that would not only make things difficult for the enemy to see, and thus escape, but it would help her track them even more.
She got up and concentrated on where people were. Batsu was in a in a low tree, Shinzu was pursuing a now invisible man, and the bandits were still running. At least they weren't complete idiots. When their friend died they would hopefully stop and they could gain back some lost ground. She walked over to Batsu once she found a body standing there with what appeared to be an archery stance. She tapped him on the ankle and whispered "follow my lead." She raised her voice a little. "Hey guys! Where are you, I can't see anything in this fog. Maybe we should head back to Daichi and wait on their next move. We'll meet at the entrance, I'm heading that way."
Then she started heading towards Shinzu, the only lone body left. "I can track them, but I need them t think that I'm not doing that. We shall locate their hideout and decide on further action there, I'm gonna need a bit of healing, that guy got in a couple of good blows on me."
With that she waited on Batsu to get out of the tree and Started approaching Shinzu. -------------------------- Hidden Mist Technique Cp cost: 20 + 10 per turn the jutsu is maintained. Damage: n/a Reflex DC: n/a Awareness DC: *User: 12 + [20] + [4] + [5] = 41 *Others: 12 + [Stealth] + [4] Special: If victims fail awareness check versus a character, they do not know their whereabouts and cannot attack them directly. Even if the user knows the location of the people in the mist, his allies must roll awareness checks versus their opponent's stealth checks also unless they too use the Hidden Mist art. First attack launched against an enemy who does not know your location is considered a Sneak Attack.

Shinzu was still looking for the other guy and had just jumped down to try and find him, when suddenly there was a huge flash and then a thick mist covered the whole area, Acting quickly Shinzu pulled out his Katana and took a defensive stance. "Crap I-I can't see anything!" Shinzu yelled as he stayed very still. (Won't lie, I wasn't sure exatly what to do lol.)

Using her Chakra web Masaraku located Shinzu. She kept her tone hushed as she spoke. "Shinzu. I know its improvised, but I can track them so long as they are in the fog. After that I can rely on their scent. We can trail them to the base and then report back once we find it." She started to move in front of him and said, "Don't lose sight of me. We can't afford to lose them." She put her finger to the radio button on her headset and said, "Andou-sensei. We are in pursuit of three enemies, tracking them via scent. Intent is to pursue them to their headquarters and await further orders upon analysis of the situation. Masaraku -out." She looked back at the other three and began to step forward.

[It's not just blindness but also being dazed by the large amount of light as well as deafened by the loud bang
What's the range of your fog?]
The three thieves were still dazed by the effects of the flashbang and didn't get very far...... at all. Fortunately, the shinobi they were fighting also didn't. Shinji tried to tell the others about Batsu, but his voice wasn't working and he coughed out blood. It's not like the three of them had them sense of hearing, anyway. Due to this, as they hobbled away from the village, back up the hill, they completely missed Masaraku's ploy.
Kuroda Flee: 1d20 + 1 - 4 = 16 Shinji Flee: 2d20 + 3 - 4 = 18 (16, since he's sticking with Kuro] Hokuto Flee: 3d20 + 2 - 4 = 2 [gdi hokuto lol]
[Beat that number to catch up to them. Any negative number result is counted as 0. A 20 is just a 20.]

Shinji coughed out blood as he hobbled. Even in his enfeebled state he was faster than both his comrades which was really saying something, actually. He leaned against a tree and waited for both his comrades, but only Kuroda came. Where's Hokuto? he managed to convey by making out a bandana impression around his head, but Kuroda waved a hand around, telling him to just shut up. Somewhere behind us, he gestured before pointing at the ground, and then at Shinji's wound. He swung his pack around and deftly retrieved several items. He uncapped the bottle of antiseptic and just poured it over Shinji's gaping wound, ignoring the man's flinches. A couple clumsy layers of bandages finished up this impromptu and rather crappy first aid. Meanwhile, Shinji kept an eye out for any potential assailants. Hopefully the shinobi didn't have any more backup. And hopefully Hokuto was fighting his way up the hill... Roll 1: d20 10 + Int 3 + Treat Injury 5 - Flashbang 4 = 14 | DC: 10 [Kuro] Roll 2: d20 3 + Wis 2 + Awareness 10 - Flashbang 4 = 11 [Shinji] Meanwhile in inner Daichi Andou froze as Masaraku's voice came in through the radio. So the drama had started already. He nodded, although no one was around to see it. "Got you," he said lowly into the microphone after pressing the button. "Keep me updated." Then he eased into the little opening between the two buildings... Despite its unimpressiveness, it was good to have such a wiry build sometimes.

[Awareness 5-8+2(dex)+6(scent of blood)+10(Mist technique=15] [Pursuit this round, 17-8+2(dex)+6(scent of blood)+10(Mist technique)=27]
[HP:] [CP: 4/45]
Masaraku raced through the Forrest, hoping her teammates were behind her, she was running very low on chakra, and this would be her last chance. It seemed as if she would be getting the opportunity for a recharge though, because as she came up on the enemy, she noticed that one had lagged behind the rest. She was not particularly interested in him though, despite the fact that he was still bleeding from her sword. No, she wanted the head of the guy with the butterfly swords. That b*****d would not get the pleasure of just running away. She would send a message to the other bandits. Daichi was off limits. And with the very real threat of a dead comrade, they would either flee or attack. either scenario ended the way that Masaraku wanted it too, but bloodshed was the preferred method. And if they did get in over their heads, Andou was in the town to defend it if they got downed out here. She caught up to the butterfly sword boy after some great effort, Masaraku launched an attack on the boy, hidden behind the veil of the mist. He would pass out again from the slightest contact with her blade, and when he did she would loot him for all he had on him and make sure he did not get back up again.
Sneak attack [16+2 (weapons skill) + 7 (Mab) - 8 (flashbang) + 0 (sneak attack bonus) =17 Masaraku buried her sword into the crippled man's neck, looking up at his friend and saying, "Run little bandit. Run to your leaders and spread the news that Daichi no longer welcomes lowlifes like you." She removed her blade and swiped it at him, spraying his friend's blood all over the kids pants. "Your other friend won't be joining you any time soon either."
The mist began to lighten, returning to its natural thickness.
