@xxEternallyBluexx: I think if we debate these points back and forth any further, we'll probably end up in a senseless argument over the same few points. XD Unless you would like a specific answer to something, I'll just say that I respectfully disagree with your ideas on God and leave it at that. By all means though, if you feel that you didn't get a full answer to something or have any other questions on atheism, feel free to ask.

Zslone2 I got another question do Atheists believe in spirits and ghosts and the like? Like Ghouls and ghosts and such do you guys believe in them or just think its some scientific phenomena that can eventually be explained by science? Someone mind answering that for me? I think belief of spirits is a personal choice. That is explained- Quote: there is no one ideology or set of behaviors to which all atheists adhere. SourceI believe in them but only because i've actually seen them. I hope that answers your question. razz xxEternallyBluexx Cute Evil Taco brainnsoup @xxEternallyBluexx: I think if we debate these points back and forth any further, we'll probably end up in a senseless argument over the same few points. Lol. I just didn't see the point in arguing my beliefs or you arguing yours. In the end, we both are running in circles. xp Be good.

See you around the guild. @Taco: It was fun, and no one drew blood! xd And hakuna matata, I will.

Zslone2 Thanks. Anyone else believe or don't in spirits,ghosts,ghouls,etc... I'm actually quite undecided about this. I have heard sounds that occur for no reason and one night I could swear someone was right next to me talking. Though I'm still a skeptic.

Like someone raking their finger down my closet doors? (they're metal so..the sound carries) I've also seen shadows and heard my dead grandfather at my grandmother's house. It's kind of weird..I get chills a lot, too. Like someone breathing down the back of your neck? lol yeah.

I don't like the OP's extensive use of the term "choice" with regard to belief. I don't think anyone can really choose what to believe. I mean, even if I simply say to myself "I don't believe I am sitting at my computer looking at an internet forum right now" I can't force myself to stop believing it.

Zslone2 Thanks. Anyone else believe or don't in spirits,ghosts,ghouls,etc... I actually find it very hard to reconcile being an Atheist with belief in ghosts and stuff. I don't believe in them at all. A lot of the Atheist arguments against religion can very easily be applied to ghosts and stuff. Our brains work very hard to change unexplained phenomena into something intelligible; turning the sound of the wind into a voice, the random movements of a weather phenomenon into directed movement. I see no reason to believe in ghosts from personal experience any more than I trust personal experiences about God. Everything I've ever heard can be explained through science or human error. That being said, I LOVE ghost stories and zombie movies. ^_^

I mean, even if I simply say to myself "I don't believe I am sitting at my computer looking at an internet forum right now" I can't force myself to stop believing it. I see it as a choice. We had to make a concious choice to take that final step and say "No, I don't need to believe this anymore." I've seen a few people get up to those last steps in reasoning and think "No, this is wrong, I shouldn't question God." and retreat back to where it was safe. I see what you're saying. It's not like we can simply choose to go back. But atheism is a personal life choice that should be respected.
I don't mean to talk down to religious people in this post either. I just think that all religion should be a chioce. And you should belong to your religion because once you were old enough you thought about and questioned your religion and still decided that that is what you believe. Not because you're afraid to question it.
