Ah, definitely amusing thread, I can say with regret I pronounced almost every person's name wrong, but I got raesha right! (I had sabins right besides the last name... I was doing it DooVurt) Hmm.. definitely got zephyree and nausicaa wrong also! Anyway, yah Im bad at pronounciations, and I think mines easy, but people do get it wrong... one friend I knew would not stop saying mine like "Kimmy - 'uh" I dont know how he got that O-o.
I just noticed mekania (I was pronouncing it Meh kayn ee yuh) has the ending syllables to my world setting dal' kania...which I found out theres a river in india named dalkania ok, yes random stuff coming from me over here. Its late and Im bored!

Anyway, its not meant to be japanese or korean or whatever, it was something I made up on the spot playing a video game :

This reminds me of a situation the other day with my Mom. We were going through some old stuff of mine trying to make room in the house (I've been renting it since she re-married, but times are getting tough so they're moving back in with me) and she came across my old RPG character papers and was trying to pronouce stuff. I was laughing so hard, bless her! xd

We also used to have a thread like this up on the ISRP message boards before ISRP moved to EnWorld (Is anyone wants to know what ISRP is, check out www.enworld.org/isrp )

At any rate, my Gaian screen name, Jalil, comes from my RPG character Jaliloloth Dae'Ithildin which is pronounced:

Jah-lihl-oh-loth DAY-ith-ill-den
or just
Jah-lihl
for short.

My usual alias is Dragona Nightsky or Draggy pronounced:
Druh-GONE-ah Night-sky or Drag-ee

I could get into the rest of my repetoire of characters, but I'd be here the rest of the night so I'll choose a few interesting ones or ones I like better:

But it's attcully Eria, as in Ear-RAH (clipped ar).

It's Welsh for snow, and it is used as a name.


I can never come up for fun names for my characters, they're all called Alex or Teru.

Alina's probaly my fave. It's a real Russian name, and I say it Ah-LI-nah. No idea how you'd say that propaly. sweatdrop
