This reminds me of a situation the other day with my Mom. We were going through some old stuff of mine trying to make room in the house (I've been renting it since she re-married, but times are getting tough so they're moving back in with me) and she came across my old RPG character papers and was trying to pronouce stuff. I was laughing so hard, bless her!
xd We also used to have a thread like this up on the ISRP message boards before ISRP moved to EnWorld (Is anyone wants to know what ISRP is, check out www.enworld.org/isrp )
At any rate, my Gaian screen name, Jalil, comes from my RPG character Jaliloloth Dae'Ithildin which is pronounced:
Jah-
lihl-oh-loth DAY-ith-ill-den
or just
Jah-
lihlfor short.
My usual alias is Dragona Nightsky or Draggy pronounced:
Druh-GONE-ah Night-sky or Drag-ee
I could get into the rest of my repetoire of characters, but I'd be here the rest of the night so I'll choose a few interesting ones or ones I like better:
Sadye Ayende is Say-dee Ay-end-ah
Vyrilless Fallader is Vih-REEL-ess Fahl-ah-duhr
Kylluket Malthaniilm is Kill-oo-keht Mahl-thah-nihlm
And last but not least, Ssuanyakondae my yuan-ti is pronounced Sue-AHN-ya-kahn-day, though the first to syllables blend together until they -almost- sound like "swan" instead in su-ahn
This is so much fun!
