I was talking to someone last night on our way to see Harry Potter and I mentioned Mekania (because of what she said about the movie in the Chatterbox thread). And my friend was all like, "Who?" Me>> "Mekania. You know, from the guild." Her>> >__>;; ummm.... "How do you spell it" "M e k a n i a." "Oh! You mean Mekania!"
I was saying Meh-KAN-ia, but she knew her as Mek-a-NIA. xd ;; Same person, same spelling, way different pronounciation! rofl I've had the same problem with Sabin Duvert....I mentioned SAY-bin Doo-vert and the other person said Sa-BINE Doo-vear. whee Who is right? I have no clue! xp ;; I've even heard someone call me Ra-E-sha. rofl
So yeah. How do you (everyone, not just Mek and Sabin) pronounce your name?
Me? I'm RAY-sha. 3nodding (REI-sha)

Ah! I had this problem a while ago when my group of friends on NWN started doing voice chat. They were all calling me "A-knee-traaw", like A-nii-traw. But is not. It's just .. Anetra like it's spelled? o_O
Ah-Ne-Tra.

Haha since I live in Sweden this is tricky.
My main account Chemie is pronounced CHEE (like in cheerleeder) and -mi (like in mississippi) *tries to make it all american* xd
My real name is Charlotte and it's not even possible to explain how it's pronounced in English. CH (like when you try to scare a cat) -a (like in alladin) -lott (can't explain sound)
I got raesha to reisha casue I'm lazy. xp
And reko is actually a word in sweden it means that somebdy or something is okay, like trustfull. ^_^ Pronounced once again unexplainable, not like yours at all.

Actually, you both were kind of right XD it's "Meh-KAN-yuh" like "Meh, can ya do it" all slurred and such. ^^ but since it's a name I completely made up one night when I was on a sugar high, it's reeeeeeeeally ok to pronounce it any way you want. I sometimes pronounce the ending "ee-uh" so it's all good XD
I've always pronounced you as RAY-sha. Wheee!
I pronounce Sabin, Sah-bin Doo-ver with a silent t Everybody else I got right except Chemie which I pronounced "Kehm-ee"

Ahhh, I never even thought to think that Sabin would have a silent t. Silly french pronounciations. ^ ^
I doubt I even need to do this, but what the hey:
Eye-Ris(like in wrist) and virus rhymes with Iris. XD
So uhh yeah. I got most of them though. I've got some friends that we often debate names, but usually it's when you through strange letters into it. Like x's and k's around other constantants.

Mines pretty simple. But I have had a few people who told me they didn't know how to say it. As long as you don't drop the (i) in the name you will say it right.
JU (say the word Jew) - per - ni (say the word knee) - a
Now my aim name is a different story all together. XD
