*Professor Adonis clears his throat, and waits patiently for the celebrations to die down.*
Thank you all for making our annual House Spirit Week event successful! Congratulations to Ravenclaw for winning the Interhouse Competition in a very close battle! Also, congratulations to those members chosen to be on HPGoG's first ever House Spirit Court. Wear your titles proudly, but continue to set the standard for others by following Guild Rules.
House points will be added to the Hour Glasses very soon, so remember to check them!
For the first time in recent memory, HPGoG has experienced a shortage of teachers for Fall Term. Alas, classes will still go on! Special thanks to those Professors who have agreed to teach TWO classes in order to spread as much knowledge as possible this term. If you haven't already, sign up for classes!
For those still interested in applying, you have until Oct 2, 2010 to apply! See here for information about applying.
For those wondering, the Top Student Poster contest will officially begin Friday, September 24.
As always, remember to check the Entrance Hall often for key dates and important guild updates!
If you ever have any questions feel free to ask in the SFQ.

Since the event is over, the Great Hall has been returned to Around Hogwarts.
Even though the Welcome Feast is over, it doesn't mean the Great Hall is closed! It's always open and it should continue to be posted in throughout Term!

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Professor Tina Aurora (Avatar34), until further notice, will no longer be serving as Hogwarts Monthly Editor, Dueling Club Instructor, Astronomy Teacher, House-elf Teacher, etc.
An an old colleague of mine, Madame Maeror Meror Umbra will be teaching Astronomy for the remainder of term.
IceeWitch (Alicia Elf) will be responsible for maintaining the remaining house-elf classes.
Lyra Elizabeth will be responsible for the Hogwarts Monthly.
I, Professor Adonis, will serve as interim referee for the Dueling Club and Alutain will be helping out as well as a Dueling Instructor.
Although I have demoted Avatar34 from many of her positions, she may still remain a part of this guild (perhaps posting in the Discussion and Games subforums).
At the moment, I will not respond to questions. Please forgive me, but I have just experienced a dreadful shock.
Please stay tuned for further updates.

Well!
The Head Elf seems to think I wasn't excited enough when I announced Fright Week 2k10 (only the biggest END OF TERM CELEBRATION) was opened! And I apologize for that! So allow me to start over!
Ladies and Gentleman Fright Week 2k10 is now open! Already a week has passed, and it seems students are growing more and more curious! They seem to think that there's something 'fishy' about the firing of Professor Aurora! Well, some of the Heads of House decided to ask Is it True? Also, Alicia elf is helping me bring an old Muggle Tradition to HPGoG! If you want some candy (and a chance to win some gold), then Trick or Treat is the place for you!
Now what Halloween event would be complete without a Costume contest? None! That's why some of the Heads of House are hosting a Halloween Avatar Contest.
Unfortunately there's very little time to sign up, so if you want a shot at an AWESOME prize you better get your creative juices flowing NOW! Even if you don't enter before the deadline, you can always vote for the winners!
And finally, don't forget to chat up and say goodbyes (this is the end of term event, if you didn't know) in the End of Term feast (located exclusively in the Great Hall)
On another note, ALL HOUSE POINTS MUST BE POSTED in the Hour Glasses by Friday, November 19, 2010. Teachers who haven't posted their final totals will earn a deduction from THEIR House. I just noticed that the point totals have decreased dramatically since Spring Term sad

Hey guys!
Well I don't know where the Headmaster is at the moment, but a quick announcement on behalf of the Mod Squad
It looks like the guild has come to a stand still and we apologize!
Sorting will begin Wednesday and any other announcements will be announced Saturday (including Fright Week information)
Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving breaks (if you had one) and thanks for being patient.
(Also, the dates for next term will be released on Saturday)

Sorting is OPEN! Because of everything going on, this is a Special Sorting! Any house elf that has been in the guild for at least TWO WEEKS and makes 30 posts before the deadline (the date was PMed to house-elves), is eligible to be sorted. Those who DO NOT obtain the 30 posts before the deadline, will be un-sorted, and possibly banned. Thanks! What are you waiting for? Take the Test and find your Home in HPGoG! PS: The Headmaster has a special announcement for everyone, so make sure you check the Entrance Hall daily! I'm not sure when he'll be announcing it!

To my wonderful members of HPGoG,
I hope you are all enjoying your holidays!
I know you are all wondering what the heck happened as Fall Term 2010 came to a close.....well I'm wondering the same thing!
It seems the guild (for lack of a better word) died. When I noticed the guild dying, I quickly blamed the Mod Squad.... but I soon realized that was totally unfair!
The Mod Squad is composed of 6 members who all have very busy RLs, and there's only a couple of other guild members who consistently help out. It's not nearly enough to keep this guild running smoothly, which takes a lot more time and effort than you might think, so we really need your help!
If you're not busy and you want to help the Mod Squad get things squared away for Winter Term 2011, I ask that you visit this thread to find out how you can help!
As we get things squared away for Winter Term 2011, our Gryffindor prefect, Oshenukhar, has stepped up to help ease the load off the Mod Squad and provide some fun while we're between Terms. He has some New Year's Resolutions he wants to tell you about! (He'll make the announcement in the Entrance Hall)

"yes, Oshen thanks headmaster, he does." Oshen said bowing really low.
"HELLO FELLOW STUDENTS AND HOUSE ELVES! Oshen, the house elf  and myself Andrew, Gryffindor Prefect, are proud to announce the newest event here at HPGoG, the New Years Resolutions." Andrew said
"This event is going to be opening FRIDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2010" Oshen chimmed in.
"This year we want you to think of a resolution but not just your own... there is a twist that will be revealed when the event opens.
ANYONE,WHO'S NOT JUDGING, MAY ENTER." Andrew continued.
"The event is located here:  " Oshen finished with a flourish of elf magic showing a path to the event.
"Oshen thanks you for your times, he does." Oshen said wth another low bow, so low that he looked as though he may topple over.
"Thank you for listening, have a great day." Andrew completed. After finishing he and Oshen had to return home, for Andrews mother was expecting them home for dinner.
