Technically I leave for rehearsal in about an hour, but...I remember that one time, during rehearsal, it was after a game, the lights on the practice field went out and we ended up having to march the whole show in the dark. I don't know about other people, but I ended up bumping into people everywhere I turned...
I hate it when December comes around and I realize amidst trying to regain feeling in my fingers that I happen to be a flute and that my instrument is metal, so I can't exactly have a good time playing...

My god band camp was torture! but then i saw all my friends i never saw over summer.
Things that are a must for camp: 1: bottled water (frozen or with ice preferably) 2: hat or risk a painful sunburn 3: sanity (you might lose it during practice but thats not our fault) 4: sunblock if you dont have a hat
Oh, and pay attention to my instructors or EVERYONE will run laps around the field.
5: dot book (or you yull possibly die...) stressed

Band Camp was so much fun this year we screwed around with the freshmen so much. This year we took and duck taped one of them to a toilet. it was hilarious.

haha. we have these really steep stairs that lead up to the band room, so us noobs would grab the hand rail. guess what? the returning students smothered it in vasaline. I almost killed a seinor who was standing at the top, laughing. Then, there was the FAILED DRUMLINE TOWER!!! all of the drumline people tryed to form a tower. when the last person [the only girl] tryed to get on...she tripped, and all of the drumline fell on a clueless Mr.Seppulvedo. Poor Band Director. Then startig the 2nd day, all of us Pit girls would wear our bikini tops and short-shorts. it was so funny seeing the reactions of our friends [we all had pretty nice beach bodys, so the guys said.] who where there. Along with LOTS of inside jokes...

A Pavlov For Love I feel fortunate that I actually have a camp. My band goes out to the boonies of Ohio to march on a feild painted in the middle of the woods for five days. We do happen to get a lot done out there but we also have a lot of fun. There are a lot of jerks in the band that ruined some fun things for us, so we can't have sectionals anymore. The canoes were closed off last year and the "rock" (the place we all gathered at that was common ground bewteen the boys and girls cabins) was also roped off. But we think that we smoked all the punks out for this summer. It'll be my last! So bittersweet. Will you write to me at band camp? Band camp is coming up for me and it'll be my last year there because I'm going to be a senior! My friends and I are having a contest to see who can get the most mail and I really wanna win! Will you help inspire rivalry and animosity in my group of friends? Please write to: Margot Lee Camp Wakonda 5045 Dyewood Dr SW Sherrodsville, OH 44675 I'll be there from July 26-31, so please send accordingly! I know, I shouldn't be posting my whereabouts online, but all of you know this! If you do wanna stalk me, you'll be met with 200 + sweaty band kids. We all know no one wants any of that! Your notes from everyone on this guild were the highlight of camp..

I'm gonna start off saying that our band is actually fortunate enough to go to an actual camp for band camp. it's at Rio Grande in ohio (we go to London High School). I say we are so fortunate to go to band camp this year because a few people decided it would be 'fun' to smoke and drink and also blow things up in their dorm.
We were so close to being banned from Rio Grande because of those three stupid [girls]. but we got off lucky this year. so we usually start band camp in August, usually the 3rd or the 5th and stay for a week. this year, we started it on August 3rd. Rio Grande is called "The Armpit of Ohio" because it's so hot and literally infested with mosquito's. it's still a lot of fun, though.
Here is a hilarious video made by my freind with some of our (and her weird) band camp memories.

well, we always get a talk at band camp on how we need to stay away from the girls dorm, and this time the councilors decided to give this speech by saying girls are red and guys blue, dont make purple. well right after this someone in the crowd of us people said "i just got a call, and 2 of the people from my school (not my school some other one) are stuck in the bathroom." (these were 2 room suites, so they were connected at the bathroom and locked on the outside.) well then everyone said that they were making dark red.

With my band camp, halfway through the week you're thinking, "Damn, this is so torturous!" And you're always feeling parched, and there's no shade for anyone ever, and we get all sweaty and gross, and during that time the a.c. stopped working in the band room...
But one day we decided to have a contest on drill stuff and if you could play attention. So my band director would tell us what we'd do, i.e. mark four, forward four, pivot right, forward four, halt. If you messed up, you left the makeshift football field.(The actual field was under construction, so the football team used the mini field, which is what we'd normally use) At the end, only like 6 people were left, and I was; a)the only girl, and b)the only freshie! It was kinda awesome to have that happen. pirate

it's brought so much joy to my life. It's not just band, it's choir as well. Anything music. we live in dorms, and it's pretty expensive, unless you manage to get a scholarship. One week and you'll be talkin about it for the rest of the year.
