ohhhh don't even talk to me about spit... I play the tuba, the spittiest instrument in the band in my opinion. I constantly have to empty my spit valve. and my fellow tubas enjoy making spit puddles lol.

chaudblaze For some reason, I doubt it...but my flute does the same thing sometimes. This.

My bass clarinet leaks a LOT lately. I hadn't played in awhile coz i had oral surgery, and when i played, it was fine. but then i had like eight slow four-count rests, so i leaned it on my leg and the mouthpiece went all Niagra Falls on me and the saxophone next to me. He didn't complain until afterwards, and he's a real serious player, so he's like, "WTF how dare you leak your ******* **** on my sax?! If anything got ruined, you are so ******* paying for it, *****!!" I'm like, "It got on your leg, dumbass. Get over yourself, and get a life." Haha my conductor heard it and he just kinda smirked and walked away. The sax is afraid of me now. Good.

D: omfg it happens to me all the time.... I have a clairnet and lately it hasnt been leaking bad, but like last week I set it on my knee because i had like 8 rest to count and like i felt something wet and cold O.= my friend next to me flipped out, screaming EW EW EW I just glare at her.... I took off the clarinet on my knee, nice big patch on my pants Dx

My trumpet sometimes leaks on me if i have it resting on my leg, whether it be bell down or if it's horizontally. It doesn't do this as much as last year, but some liquid comes out of the bottom third valve cap. I don't know if it's spit or valve oil...but i think it's spit since I don't really have to oil that valve too often. Last year (in concert band) I had to place my trumpet across my lap to where the third valve wasn't on me so i wouldn't be leaked on.
I like seeing how big of a puddle I can make with emptying my spit valves. I've had like a straight stream of spit come out of my third valve slide spit valve. There weren't any cuts in the stream of spit for the first second or two while emptying it...

Haha, ok so our Trumpet SL has a solo in the first song and he told us after our competition last week that he was freaking out cuz he had like a trail of spit running down his face x.X
And my neck piece is for a fiberglass so it doesn't fit right and it's always leaking.

Bleah. I hate that, especially wen i march! xS the other day, my sax was leakin, so i looked down the bell, an there was a puddle-o-spit in the bottom, so i turned it upside down, an it looked like a trumped just emptied its spit vaulve. eww. but i guess it is better than havivg to suck it up insted. xD

Half the time my trombone refuses to let out the spit in the horn through the spit valve, and it comes out of the slide as I put 'im away...gets all over the case. stare Wenn ich ihre Haut verließ,

i play the baritone and it5 only leaks when there its 2 much spit valves and comes out of my mouth pice

when i started playing my clarinet in tha 6th grade, it would leak all over tha place. i figured out why it did that, but one day i had one of my friends holding it for me and when she lifted it up off her knee to give it to me, she screamed and yelled out "UR INSTRUMENT PISSED ON ME!" i was embarressed and she apologized, but everyone was laughing and our conductor was fighting a smile for some odd reason. she didn't get in trouble for say pissed out load. so all was good, except tha memory that some still remember XD

after a show or before when i blow air to keep it in-tune , in especially cold weather show, i have a constant flow of spit coming out to make puddles :3

my flute does that all the time. especially during practice. also i have a friend who plays the trombone and when he takes his instrument out spit gets all over his pants and shirt.
