My Fanon I would have to say would be something about Sheena and Zelos, of course. My favorite pairing.

I actually wrote a fanfic on them meeting as children and growing up as friends. I lost it so now I have to rewrite it and I'm too lazy... crying

Anyways, it kind of makes sense to me why Sheena appears to be really violent and cold to Zelos at times. Also it explains why Zelos seems to care more about her and seems to be able to read her pretty well.

In my mind:

It starts off with Zelos' mother being killed. Sheena, being really young, like the age of 3 or 4, would have attended the funeral, as it would have been a public event (as everything about the Chosen is). She also would have attended because of the Chief's relationship with the Royals. She takes notice of the sad and lonely Chosen boy, and not understanding why he is so sad, she picks a flower and hands it to him, also offering him her friendship.

Zelos is surprised by this, and a bit happy and overwhelmed, but he accepts the flower and friendship. Then, since they are children, and Zelos has just suffered the loss of his only family, he requests that Sheena be allowed to visit him. This goes on for a couple years and then finally the Chief puts the kabash on it for Sheena's training has intensified. So the two start growing apart. When Sheena starts working with the Research Academy, she secretly visits Zelos and catches him with another girl. Still thinking he is the same innocent person she used to play with, she doesn't think much of it. However Zelos has changed a bit.

Sheena continues to see Zelos here and there despite the protests of her Grandfather and Tiga. Zelos still cherishes his friend as well, because she's the only one he doesn't feel he needs to have his superficial exterior for.

However, soon Sheena goes for the Pact with Volt, and the accident occurs, putting her into a state of complete shock and anguish. Zelos, upon hearing the news of his friend travels to Flanoir to visit her while she waits at the doctor's house for news on her Grandfather. He is there to bring comfort and help her overcome her shock and sadness.

After this, Sheena developes feelings for Zelos. And she reveals them to him. They start seeing each other off and on as teenagers, despite warnings to stay away from Tiga who has heard about the Chosen's reputation and fears for Sheena's honor. Sheena stays in Meltokio for the completion of the man-made summon spirit. After the spirit is created she will return to Mizuho.

Zelos in the meantime still mainly considers Sheena more of a friend and isn't really sure of his own feelings for her. His superficial personality has started impacting all of his own feelings and true relationships. He has begun flirting with other girls, as he finds that they throw themselves at him and before long, takes it a little too far in front of Sheena and gets careless, since he isn't quite treating their relationship as seriously as she is.

Sheena is completely heartbroken and angered by his advances towards another girl and refuses to speak to him. She recieves the summon spirit.

Zelos tries to apologize but only recieves a cold goodbye from Sheena. It's after this point when she is leaving his life presumably for good that he realizes that he truly was in love with her.

And so the years pass, and here we are at the point where the game takes place...

So here we have Sheena, constantly pushing Zelos away or smacking him, and then we have Zelos with his superficial attitude, flirting with the other girls and mainly teasing her, but at serious times he also looks out for her or reaches out to comfort her, even if she won't accept him or take him seriously.
