User ImageTaking the drink, Yalitza takes a small sip of it before she smiles. Tilting her head she looks over the food, having never really tried sushi before. Chewing on her bottom lip, she rubs at the brim of her nose. She wasn't hungry, as now her stomach was really all a flutter.

He gotten really close, before hugging her. Then he started to blush, so she was curious as to what was going on inside his mind. Taking another sip, she sets her drink on the table, before taking his hand into hers. Giving it a gentle squeeze, she pulls it away then picks her drink back up. Might as well attempt to flirt, if she scared him. She would stop, just so he didn't get uncomfortable "I'll eat one, if you eat one. How does that sound?"

Finding an invitation to a sushi part on his door was one of the least things Abacus was expecting. He removed it, examined it, then entered his room and proceeded to dig around in search of something to wear. Who would show up to an event like that covered in dirt from the Flora Gardens? And on top of that -- he paused for a moment to remove a bit of foliage determined to remain with him -- who would want someone who just practiced the more rough arts of P.E. (ie, tumbling) to waltz in, all grungy and sweaty? Furthermore... Belwin, Belwin -- isn't she the Phlegm in a dress? All the more reason to find something better to wear, then.

At last, after a quick shower and a final finger-combing through his hair to make sure there weren't any stowaway plants, he arrived. While his usual and preferred outfit could easily pass as being "semi formal," it was set aside in favor of another outfit he found at the bottom of his drawer. While it wasn't unusual to see him in a long-sleeved shirt, the one he wore now was white in color complete with a slight poof at the ends of the sleeves -- most likely this was taken from another of his outfits and used for this one, after failing to find a more suitable match. The main attraction on him was a dark blue vest with yellow trim and accents, fit somewhat loosely over his form. His pants were of the same shade as his vest, save for being a bit darker in color complete with yet more yellow trim. His shoes, however, were most likely from the same outfit that shirt of his was from -- they were black, and were mostly mercifully hid from view due to the hem of his pants.

Abacus did not wear any of his techorings, but his camera was faithfully hung around his neck compete with a fresh roll of film. He threw a glance around the room, blinking in surprise. The colors! Sure, blue did go with orange but more than ever did he stand out now. Perhaps he should have gone with the more formal outfit, since it would make him less obvious. His room wasn't too far away, right?

But he was here, and his choice of an outfit was more than enough to attract attention. He just had to make sure he didn't take any pictures of himself in order to prevent clashing with the background.

He took a step into the room and paused, his dark teal eyes caught by the array of pins spread out on the table. As happy as a magpie he scooted closer to the table and looked over them, his fingers tapping in time to the music before he selected a pin. By the sole reason of the fact that it made him grin uncontrollably when he looked at it, Abacus picked up the pin with the cat-like grin on it and fastened it to his camera strap. He couldn't exactly unbutton his vest in order to put it there, could he? This wasn't that sort of a party.

With that accomplished, Abacus held up his camera and moved along the wall, looking for the subjects for his first photograph of the night.

Thimble looks upon this oddly-speaking Cyphr with some intrigue, as she wolfed down the last of her carried-off sushi, not least because of the kind of rapture he so held to the Empyrean he spoke to... and then it is Cypress' turn to speak.

"Ah!" Thimble immediately flusters, and pastes her palms to her cheeks as though to cool the blush that was beginning to rise. "How rude I be, when you tell me who you be! I be Thimble." It came out almost as a gabble, so quickly was it expressed (as though to compensate for its belated arrival) but it was still not quick enough to fit before Cypress' next words, and, indeed, probably the most important word of her gushing--that being her name--was somewhat drowned out by Cypress' exuberant, easy dismissal. And then...

She was grabbed. Not only that, she was yanked: dragged, with no warning whatsoever. She could feel herself pitching forward as she was so intrusively taken, and rather than stumble forward to follow, she planted her feet firmly and wrenched herself free.

"No!" She flared, straightening her grabbed arm with a crack, as though to shake off something that stuck there in one decisive movement. "Make fools of touch! I not ready..." Her tone was angry--though ebbed at end, and even at its strength it was not overly loud, thanks to the muffling effect of the music playing--even if her words didn't make much sense, but her eyes were wide and frightened, and her eyebrows were running rampage against her face: as though confused, her entire body, too, was warped in conflicting states: her shoulder was turned as though in defence, as though to shield the offended arm, which was being caressed lightly by her other arm, a motion which did not seem to equate to mere comfort, her feet seemed torn as to whether they should approach or back away, and in which manner. To any extent, she had this trapped appearance.

In moments that felt like minutes, a new approach to this circumstance, previously unconsidered, had surfaced to her mind. She replayed the grab, it had seemed... casual? The conflicted postures of her body broke down to become this united picture of baffled contemplation. Starting with a tilt of the head skywards, then a drop of the shoulder, which made her straightened arm curve as she kept her other hand at the elbow, and then drop away to swing at her sides, as she rested back and stilled her feet. Casual... Thimble brought her hands together so that they met at their tips and the index fingers lay on either side of her nose, creating a kind of opened triangle. A quick scan of their faces only showed that her response was strange in the least. Hm... oh... the thought that she had just done something very stupid rose just as quickly and overwhelmingly as her impulsive reaction. She fanned her paired fingers out then dropped them from her face, so that they were placed squarely in the centre of her flat chest, elbows out straight at right angles from them, and leaned her upper half forward slightly in earnest.

"S--sorry?" She said hesitantly, like a kid who had eaten a cookie from a plate and then was not sure whether it was ok of them to take it. She was terribly, terribly confused.

Let's see, there's a set of dan-- is that Kallisto and Grave? Abacus paused in his prowl, looking at the couple curiously. He was quite shocked at the Sanguine's choice of apparel. Who knew that a fighter that tough could look so... so... Wait. Wait, wait, wait what kind of a necklace was a small sword?!

Concerned with the state of his well-being, he left the couple alone and headed to where most of the other guests were: the food table with its choice of... of... Abacus looked at the food quizzically, then something clicked. This was sushi, and what the party was centered around. He turned from it and headed towards the drinks, selecting a cup and filling it with regular juice. Perhaps later he would try the drink with a bit of schnappy, but that would occur later after he had managed to take a few pictures. What good would pictures be if he took a picture with the camera backwards? He already knew what his cheeks looked like, and he didn't need to make them flush upon discovering the mistakes.

Armed with cup in hand, he scouted the room for familiar faces. To his disappointment, they all looked busy with another person -- what kind of a person would he be to barge in? He sipped his drink and continued to watch before something caught his attention.

"No! Make fools of touch! I not ready..."

Wasn't that voice familiar? He found the source quickly and grinned. Thimble! He outfit had changed slightly when he first met her at the banquet, but it was her. He made his way over to them and waited, then moved in smoothly after Thimble apologized. "Forgive me for interrupting," he began, "But is everything all right? Hello Cyphr, and... Cypress, correct? And you," he turned to Thimble and tilted his head to one side, looking serious for a moment and considered. "You look familiar..."

And suddenly there was someone else at the group! Thimble started as this blue-vested blue-skinned Phlegmatic seemed to materialise out of nowhere (as far as her disrupted senses could garner--which is, perhaps, not saying an awful lot) and immediately fill what could have been an awkward pause. Although, the result probably contributed to an awkward moment nonetheless. It seemed that confusion's reign over Thimble's mixed emotions was being usurped by embarassment.

She wrung her hands anxiously.

"Yes yes fine everything, everything fine, fine fine, no? Yes, no?--Nice vest!" she blathered, (appearing the very opposite of her words) looking this newcomer up and down. She agreed with the sentiment: there was something about him that seemed very familiar, she was temporarily distracted as she tried to place it, and found her eyes returning to the camera. Had she had her photo taken recently, perhaps?

"Familiarity coincidence, hey?" She offered mildly after a brief pause, in the absence of a better explanation. "I be Thimble" ... though perhaps, using an alias would be a smarter idea right now. Except that she had only just offered her name to Cyphr and Cypress, so that plan wouldn't have gotten far. Oh dear, how her thoughts were scattered. She was thoroughly unsettled.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 17, 2008 6:56 am

At the swift backwards jerk, Cypress, having had a bit too much schnappy, overbalanced and fell straight on her bum, rather ungracefully. She stared up at Thimble from her perch on the floor, both legs out straight in front of her and her hands in her lap, rather confused. Her hair had fallen out of her banana clip and had fallen down around her face; probably the only time anyone else had seen her hair down!

She watched with confusion all of the stages that Thimble went through and blinked, still not rising, but merely confused as to why her friendly gesture had elicited this type of reaction from Thimble. She hadn't meant any harm . . . ? At the appology, and still on the floor, she tilted her head to the side slightly. Uh, it's okay. It's me that s-should be sssssorry, I guess Cypress said, faltering over her words. This confused her a bit more, and the color rose once again to her cheeks.

As Abacus approached, Cypress tried to get to her feet, but her gown was just a bit too tight! She was caught mid-maneuver, one leg sticking out at a weird angle, trying to conserve her modesty, yet still rise. Oh, this was so embarrassing! Oh, what if he took a picture! That would be a simple disaster! So, when Abacus asked if everything was alright, she looked just about ready to cry out of sheer embarrassment, a pout playing at the corners of her mouth.

Abacus blinked in surprise at Thimble's response. With that much of a dismissal, was everything really "fine?" It wasn't his place to push it, though (as crowds are wont to make a big deal out of something like that which tends to ruin the fun of things). Instead, he nodded in agreement. "Aye, that tends to happen around here a lot," he replied smoothly. Sure he knew her name already, but saying so might wind Thimble up more than she needed to be. He could already sense that if he pushed her just so she could break... But that wouldn't be good. She looked like a kinesthetic, and he knew from first-hand experience that both Empyreans of Kinesthetic and Academic orientations could easily beat him, and upsetting one would top his list of 'Stupid Things I Have Done as a Zero.'

Better not start that list tonight.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Thimble," he replied, "My name is Abacus, and thank you -- I managed to find it at the bottom of my drawer," he laughed, dismissing it. "I could have gone with the pink tanktop, but thaaat's a little bright for a gathering like this, yeah?"

He took a sip from his punch and inwardly kicked himself. He should've brought another with him! That way, he could have offered one but -- ah, what if they weren't interested? Could he say that both cups were for him and get away with it?

But wait! What's this? He fastened his attention to Cypress and laughed, offering his hand to help her up. "Need a hand? I don't bother with dresses much myself. I never learned how to walk in them properly," he joked, trying to make light of her situation.

Perhaps the best, and worse things about distractions is that they're only temporary. As Abacus picked up the fallen Empyr, Thimble was well reminded of her actions, and flustered again, flapping her hands in fuss around the pair as though by sheer wind power alone, she could help the two get to their feet. And oh... what about Cyphr? If she recalled correctly he had been latched on the other side of Cypress, and so might have suffered from the domino effect. She twisted one hand about her thumb, until the knuckle cracked, and tried not to think about how she was glad someone else had helped Cypress up. She had this dreadful feeling that, even unconsciously, she would be keeping a few steps distance from this one... and she had apologised! And was being nice if... slightly... un co-ordinated.

She blinked, then shrugged it out of her head and focused on what had just been said.

"Happens... often... hep does, hey?" She said slowly, doubt clearly visible. She suddenly frowned at this Zero, what was this feeling now? Like she was being... cheated. Perhaps. Or being spoken down to. What possible pleasure could this be? To meet a flustered and babbling fool of an Empyrean? Well, she was no fool, but right now she was all out of sorts, like a cat with its fur rubbed all the wrong way. Not even in just one direction, but a cyclone of mussings, so that rumpled fur tracked all over her in an amusing moiré.

She felt unusually untrusting, as though everything was turning out a bit too strangely to be true. She shook her head as though to shake the thought. What did she usually do, in times like this? To clear her head when it got too muddled? Oh yes... she clapped her hand upon the Sampi Ouroboros tattoo on her right shoulder, as though it burned--a little bit of a reminder as to the order of the world as she saw it, would not go admiss right now--and cracked a smile at Abacus' flippant remarks.

"While you would look good in a dress" she remarked quite seriously, "I found the same: long dresses can be tricky like that, so I avoid. You be okay, hey?" She added with a note of concern, which would have been almost sweet, had it not been framed in guilt.

User ImageNadyrr looked over the table and at Yaltiza's words he began eying the various pieces of food, "hmm, well most seem to be fish. But I think those over there are all vegetables; cucumbers?" After taking an actual close look at the table he glanced over his shoulder watching Yalitza with a small smile, "I think I'll try the cucumber one...hopefully the rice won't go all over." Nadyrr glanced over eying for a moment a pair of sticks set to the side he had the vague idea that he was suppose to pick the sushi up with those. Taking a small plate from the side he bypassed the sticks and picked up one of the cucumber rolls carefully, to his surprise it didn't fall apart when he picked it up. Holding it over the plate he looked to Yalitza again before closing his eyes and eating the small maki roll in a bite. He paused sort of getting use to the taste of it, the rice he realized had been made in some particular way, grinning faintly he murmured, "well it wasn't so bad." He didn't think it would be something he'd eat all the time but, it certainly wasn't as bad as he could imagine.

Hearing other group he grinned very slightly watching Cypress and Thimble. Having grown more comfortable he moved over to rest a hand on Yalitza's waist lightly and glanced up at the drinks. "Careful of the punch I have a feeling there is more in it then just fruits." His eyes shifted to the snhappy bottle laid out behind one of the bowls and he tried to remember if he had gotten their drinks from that bowl or the other. Taking his glass he took a drink, yep there was definitely snhappy in it. Clearing his throat in some embarrassment he decided he better tell Yalitza, "in fact that is where our drinks came from...uhm, just so you know." He wasn't overly worried about the effects on himself, "because well, might have you carry you back from the party if you drink too much." At the last part he got the strange tightening and then a brief fluttering before he pushed away the sensations attempting to relax at least a little again.

A flurry of action happened so fact that Cyphr hardly had any time to react or indeed register what was going on. Cypress hooked her arm through his, and this touch made him so inordinately happy that he let out a little crow of delight. But his joy was short-lived when Thimble suddenly tore herself away and caused poor Cypress to fall. Cyphr was at her side in an instant, and as the flustered girl got all tangled up in her dress, Cyphr scooped her up off of her feet and clasped her to his chest. Cyphr may be short, but he was immensely strong, and lifting the Choleric posed no difficulty whatsoever. Thus clinging to Cypress, his warm arms wrapped about her protectively, Cyphr's mind finally registered the others present.

Thimble seemed to have calmed down, but Cyphr wasn't sure what to make of her. Vaguely, he thought of Sombre and wondered what would happen if the two were to meet. And then he realized the other shadow that had joined them was a face he knew, and one he liked at that! Cyphr grinned, and relaxed a little, the stiffness held in his muscles releasing a tad as he realized Abacus was no threat.
"Hallo Abacalas~" Cyphr greeted cheerily, still clutching Cypress in his arms, his little heart beating unreasonably fast. Was it the shnappy? Or that vaguely flowery scent rising from Cypress' hair? Cyphr found himself distracted by the girl in his arms again and blinking peered down at her almost sheepishly. "Uh...oh...I didn't mean to just...scooooop you...like...uh...." And Cyphr's tongue stopped working, his red face nearly purple in the cheeks.

Grave wasn't sure what he was expecting, but to be kissed back wasn't it. The encouragement was only gasoline to an already burning fire, and Grave's slow smile curled across his countenance. The song had ended and new music had begun in the midst of their exchange of feeling, and Grave half-swaying to the music, pressed his hand against the small of kallisto's back to press her closely to himself. He was a short One, afterall, and he had to lean in to whisper his words to her. "I'll always be here with you. No matter what else happens, you can count on me." Grave's lips brushed against Kallisto's earlobe as he murmured to her, and he lingered there for a moment. He inhaled the sweet-spicy smell of her and savoured it for a moment before slowly pulling back. When he again was in her field of vision, Grave's nigh everpresent smile was warm and intimate, and more than a tad welcoming. He brought her fingers to his lips and kissed her fingertips gently, speaking to her between kisses. "So, of course, if you ever, need anything, please don't hesitate....to ask."

User ImageLooking over the different types of sushi, Yalitza decided maybe it was best to stick with a cucumber one also. Setting it onto a plate, she watches Nadyrr as he eats the roll in one bite. When he spoke of it not being bad, she looks down at her own roll. Picking it up, she pops the roll into her mouth. Chewing slowly, she finds that she actually likes sushi. In fact, she turns to place two more small rolls onto her plate.

Looking over to the punch bowl, she arches a brow before she looks at Nadyrr. Was he flirting back? Well she saw the blush on his cheeks, and she couldn't help if maybe he could feel her heart racing. Lifting her drink, she takes a quick sip of it. Shaking her head, she smiles as she licks her lips.

Leaning over, her lip her just inches from his ear as she chuckles "Would that be a bad thing?" pulling away from his ear, she took another small sip. Her eyes watching Thimble, Cypress, Cyphr, and Abacus. They were all enjoying themselves it seems. Turning, she sets her drink down before pressing a kiss to Nadyrr's cheek "I am having a great time. This party is going very well. Everyone is enjoying themselves."

User ImageNadyrr for a moment eyed the other rolls, he had remember Belwen saying what each was his eyes flickered over to some with light pink salmon laid atop rice. He wasn't sure but he was almost certain it was raw, he wasn't so sure about the raw fish thing but it seemed some sort of delicacy so he plucked up one and put it on his plate and to his surprise again the rice didn't fall all over the place.

He took a sip of his drink attempting to figure out what to talk about and then he heard Yalitza's reply and almost choked on his drink. He wasn't sure if she was saying yes she wanted him in her room or...his mind panicked a moment. He wasn't suave or charming or pretty at least in his own mind, he turned a moment to get a look at Yalitza and ran into the same problem poor Cyphr had encountered earlier, it seemed he forgot how to speak a moment.

Finally recovering he attempted a reply, "uhm...I don't know I'm sure it would be a nice room and uhm..." his voice faltered and trailed off before he seemed to be able to find it again. "Do you think it would be a bad thing?" There was a bit of surprise and curiosity in his voice as he asked.

User ImageYalitza chuckles before she gives Nadyrr a casual shrug "Not really, I mean...we could hang out." taking another sip of her drink, she closes her eyes for a moment as she thought about what she said. A blush forming across her cheeks, but from the drink it would be hard to tell if it was her or the drink.

Turning back towards Nadyrr, she shakes her head as she sets the drink down "Forget I said that, I think the drink is causing me to speak things I am thinking." she felt alittle embarrassed for blurting her thoughts out.

Looking down at her plate, she keeps her eyes closed before she takes a deep breath. The fluttering in her stomach worse then ever, but she kind of liked it.

User ImageKallisto bowed her head, tilted it as Grave spoke and bite her tongue as the unexpected touch of his lips against her ears raised the hairs on the back of her neck, stoking a fire she hadn't realized had been lurking beneath her distractions. Closing her eyes, she let him hold her and while it may appear to others that they might be engaged in a close embrace, Kallisto's normally strong exterior cracked. A fighter, yes, and a determined, spirited person but she was still very much a sensitive being, prone to hurt and pain that pride kept from showing. "Grave...." Her friend never ceased to be there and she shook her head, a sad smile playing across her features as he kissed her fingers.

"I've... been so lonely. I have my familiars... and Cecil but the house still feels so empty, so alone." She pulled her fingers from his grasp and touched the back of her hand softly against his cheek. He voice was low, intimate and her tone inviting, "Your company would be appreciated... dear friend."
