I think that would be an awesome idea!

I could teach KANJI and some kanas and maybe phrases (in romaji)
but kanji is my strong suit. though.... I have some that migh tbe a bit hard (see my post I made in Learning Japanese) but yeah. I can help and it would be fun! biggrin

Yeah... Are we ever gonna get this off the ground? Or do I waste my energy typing this?

Well I would love to start teaching, but we gotta wait for word from the Cap'n'. She's leading the charge, so she says when we start this thing.

Well, I'm not sure what to say about lessons, I'm thinking that anyone who wants to teach lessons should go at it, and the lessons that people find particularly useful should be reposted into a sticky in the learning Japanese forum, since it's going to be too hard for all the lessons writers to get on the same page.

so what do people think? peole can teach as they wish, and well written or useful lesson should be reposted in a sticky?

I think that this guild is great but for topics someone should say lesson 1 instead of pronouns or kanji. start a lesson 1 lesson 2 topic so people can go to each topic one at a time instead of starting to ahead of where they're supposed to.

like I said just have official lessons like lesson 1 lesson 2 and keep the other topics for refreshment. The official lessons should be polished so it's like reading a lesson from a book.

yeah I think that'd be a great idea ^^ especially since I can only speak the greeting fluently and a few other words stare , and I haven't started learning Hiragana or Kanji or Katakana

Is this still going on? 'cause I would love to be a lesson-writer! My computer is able to see and type in Japanese characters.

I've taken Japanese 101,102, and 103, and know a little 201. I think I know around 300 or so kanji. I was thinking that an easy way to put up stroke order for kana/kanji would be to just use artpad! It's much easier and quicker than formatting a whole .gif animation, and it makes it so people can practice right there.

I have a suggestion, even though this sticky is less than particularly active... There could be a couple of grammar lessons a week, and those participating in the lessons could write about 10-15 sentences of Japanese for every lesson. It's not as dull as just reading another post, and makes the participant apply what's been learned.
There could also be quizes or tests on the lessons, consisting of things like correcting sentences and writing small essays.
