
Lafayette tends to be a bit of a self important drama queen. He means nothing by it, and doesn't intend to annoy, but that doesn't ever stop people from getting angry with him. Of course, it never bothers him that people get upset with him. He chose to be this way, so it can only be his fault if he rubs others the wrong way. After all, not everyone can get along all the time.
It is in this sense that he is very mature for his age. He takes very much after his father, and he knows what he does will have consequences he will eventually have to deal with. He does tread with care in that sense, though generally others think he acts without thinking, which might be true in more cases than not. Another way he takes after his father is that he was a huge drama queen. He simply has less restraint over it than Claude. He'll take any situation he's in a blow it up to sizes astronomically "more interesting" as he puts it.
All and all, he is a fierce friend and a loyal stallion. Chances are that when you befriend Lafayette you have a friend for life.
