Thankfully nothing happened and he found rest came easy once everything else was dealt with. He found out Ayami had been hiding out after the chaos, her phone had died, and she'd been unable to make it out of the city before being recruited by the PD to help with the cleanup. Once free she came to the center looking to rest when she'd bumped into him. They'ed shared his room and come morning she'd introduce herself to both Fukumi and Lucille. While waiting for Kotensa's clothes to be cleaned, the two women got to talking. Ko quickly explained her situation as to how she'd ended up at that gala with those men, and why she'd sought Wei's help. Wei for lack of a better phrase, was simple the best chance she had. Ko continued to apologize as well, for bringing this burden upon her. It was a lot to take in; this story of people using Pokemon as test subjects, doing harmful... even deadly experiments on them. Of course Wei felt they had to be stopped, but her own problems were still present. Like finding the rest of her family. Wei's mind was on the address her would-be brother had given her. All the answers to all her questions were at this address.
"Oh, Wei. Hey, My clothes are done. What do you think? Do these suit me?" Ko sudden arrival pulled Wei from her thoughts so abruptly she couldn't make a coherent thought on the other woman's outfit, let alone say anything. She simply settled with a quick nod, before finally getting the time to gather her thoughts. "It looks good." She finally replied. Ko's eyes narrowed with a grin, a glint of playfulness within them. "Well, they'll do just fine for now." She replied, pulling on a plain lavender hoodie. "Anyway, I'm all set if you want to go challenge the gym now." Ko continued, gesturing towards the lobby doors. Wei stood with a nod. "Of course. Let us continue."
Not long after, the two arrived at the gym. Ko seemed far more excited than Wei was. After all, the blonde was still relatively new to the whole gym concept, and she'd heard whispers about how hard this gym in particular is. Still, she felt determined that she could win. So with only a mild reluctance, Wei stepping into the gym, Ko not far behind her. It took a minute to get through the maze set up before Wei stepped onto the challengers corner, holding her head up high. "I have come to challenge the one called Whitney." She spoke stiffly. A pinkette quickly appeared, a large Miltank behind her. "Really? Okay! That would be me!" The young girl replied. "Give it all ya got!" She added. Without mincing anymore words, the battle quickly began.
While Wei's companions fought as hard as they could, none could prevail over Whitney's second Pokemon, a Lickytung. It seemed Wei had overestimated her power, a lesson well learned. Returning Fen, she took a deep breath in. Whitney seemed just as bubbly as she had when she'd first come into the room. Wei took a bow, turning away from the pinkette. She had to get back to training.

Spotting Wei's forlorn look as they exited the gym, Ko offered her fellow female an understanding smile. "Hey, You win some, you lose some, right?" Wei glanced up, her eyes thoughtful. "So your companions need a bit more training, it's understandable." The blonde added, skipping forward with her hands behind her back. "I think, the Lake of Rage could be a good place to train?" Wei's gaze widened at this suggestion. "Why is the lake angry?" Ko stopped, turning half her body around with a rather dazed look in her eyes. "Uhh.., the lake isn't angry. That's just what it's named, since a lot of Gyarados live in that lake." Ko replied, turning on her heel to face Wei. "Either way, it's north of Mahogany Town, which means we have to head north east." Wei nodded, she recalled her look at the several maps she'd seen in Pokemon Centers. "First we should head back to the Pokemon Center, I must tell my companions our plan." Wei stated. Ko nodded in agreement, finding nothing wrong with that idea.
Once they'd reached the Pokemon Center in question, Wei had her team fully healed. It took a bit of time, but eventually her companions returned to Wei ready and eager to try the gym again. Wei shook her head at this suggestion. "No, I will not put you through another defeat. We lost, plain and simple." Wei spoke. "What we need to do is train, which means we should move onward, away from Goldenrod and to a place Kotensa says is called the Lake of Rage." 'Lake of Rage? Why is the lake angry?' Fen inquired. Ko held up a hand stifling a laugh while Wei explained what Ko had told her about the Gyarados. 'Oh.' Fen muttered. 'Okay, so we go there to train? What about that guy, Wei? The one you met at that fancypants party?' Ko lowered her hand, leaning in a bit with a quizzical look on her face. "Yea, what guy?" Wei quickly shook her head, finding the looks she was getting were fairly uncomfortable. "He very well may be one of many missing pieces of the puzzle." Adjusting herself to face Ko specifically, the fellow blonde explained what had happened. "You see, I thought I was just another orphan, like the brothers I grew up with. "It had to be that pokemon from last night. I wonder what it was though?" The twins had already explained everything they could remember about what had happened. Nis could recall a giant black winged pokemon and Sin a person, but neither could recall what the other remembered, at least not in as vivid detail. Everything was fractured between them. Like they shared the same memory but the pieces were split between them. "If a Pokemon did this to you then I wouldn't worry about it too much for now. It might only be a temporary effect." Nurse joy remarked having returned from tending to the sibling's pokemon. Setting on the counter before them a tray holding their Pokeballs. Volt and Amp, being the twins partner pokemon remained out of Ball. Upon return, the electric rodents returned to their respective trainers. Though now they could no longer ride atop their shoulders. Instead, they remained by their sides. In this case, sat atop the counter. Thankfully whatever had reverted their age had no effects on their pokemon. It had taken some coaxing though to convince the pair of rodents the Twins were their actual trainers. The siblings quickly began showering the pair with affections. Though mentally they remained sixteen they had begun to notice childish tendencies. "Let's hope this is temporary. I don't want to go through puberty twice."Said Nis hugging her Plusle watching Sin as he attempted to get down. Being a little over two feet again was going make life difficult. Familiar was one way to put it. Natalia had other choice adjectives that she would have chosen to describe the celebi, but it was probably for the best she not say them out loud. It would seem ungrateful, for one, plus she knew better than to piss off a pokemon that could manipulate time. Still, she was more than happy to hand off babysitting duty to the coballion that had decided to make its presence known.
After learning of Void's presence here, none of the group wanted to hang around the area, particularly not Natalia. Oh good, fancypants agrees with me. Natalia couldn't help the sharp thought cross her mind as the coballion chimed in. At least she didn't say it out loud, but she was absolutely tempted to. Thankfully the more rational part of her brain reasoned that there was no reason to be so rude to the legendary. Even Natalia didn't really understand why she was acting out so much, but honestly, Coballion's presence made her feel uncomfortable. The very incarnation of law and order just happened to show up and join them. It didn't feel coincidental that her past also just happened to be rather stained with not-so-lawful or orderly deeds. It made her feel defensive, in a strange way. Maybe just a little insecure? And what was her reaction? To be even more rude and crude. Yes, because that was going to help her case.
The topic of gyms and training was a welcome change. "Don't be so modest." Natalia glanced to Aiden as he sheepishly suggested that he wasn't sure if he was prepared for the gym battle ahead. "You'll be fine. If anyone needs more training, it's me. Half of my team is gone and I need to..... reassess things." She'd gotten through the other two gyms on raw strength alone. Now that she was back to where she'd left off, she was going to need some kind of strategy. It was hard to figure things like that out though when she was scrambling to regain her memories, and finding nothing but unpleasant discoveries.
She listened to Aria's suggestions, looking thoughtful. "Why don't we just start in National Park, see how it goes. If we find that the opponents there aren't enough of a challenge, we can make our way to Mt. Mortar, but I don't want to commit to traveling so far away before assessing the situation in a closer area." Natalia reasoned.
Of course, by the time they'd gotten out of the forest and into the city, it was already dusk, and Goldenrod was huge. By the time they would make it all the way across the city to the National Park gates, it would probably be night. "Oh... Okay. Guess it was later than I thought. It's hard to tell time when the forest is so dark. Maybe we should find a pokemon center instead?" Natalia suggested, scratching her head.

✦ ✦With the situation with Natalia’s missing Pokemon more or less solved now and the worn out Celebi entrusted in Cobalion’s care until she recovered enough to return to where she came, the group was more than glad to leave Ilex Forest behind them as they pressed on to Goldenrod. As the edge of the forest crept closer and closer while they walked, Aria found herself casting concerned glances towards Natalia every so often. She knew she had promised the girl that she wouldn’t dig around in her thought, and the Delphox fully intended to hold true to that vow no matter what. The Psychic-type was a lot of things, but she was certainly not someone who went back on their promises. However, from sensing her emotions and thoughts on the surface level… it was clear to tell that she was uneasy and perhaps a little on edge. Perhaps it was the presence of these legendaries who had suddenly shown up that was making her feel this way? Or was there something more to it? From reading Aiden’s thoughts, she could tell he was worried about her as well… So he was happy to bring up a change of subject as he mentioned to Cobalion about their current objective of taking on the gym in Goldenrod, Aria unable to help but snicker under her breath at Aiden’s flustered reaction to being addressed as ‘young master’ by Cobalion before launching into his explanation. Of course, the boy still felt that they needed quite a bit more training before they were anywhere close to prepared for it.
Natalia then cut in, telling Aiden not to be so modest and assuring him that he’d be fine when he would go in to face Whitney. ”Ah… well, I mean…” the blonde tried to dissuade as he sheepishly ruffled his hair, knowing well enough that she had a good point, ”It would still be a good idea to train for me regardless. If not for Whitney then at least in preparation for when we move on to Ecruteak to go against Morty, and some of my other Pokemon are still lagging behind others in terms of strength.” Mogwai in particular had been fairly weak when they had acquired him, and he might not be strong enough by the time the majority of his team were prepared to fight Whitney. That, and Evelynn was in desperate need of training, a Dark-type like her would certainly come in handy against Morty’s Ghost-types later down the line. He hummed thoughtfully as Natalia mentioned that if either of them was going to need more training it was her, especially considering that she had undergone some major losses to her team and she needed to reassess things. ”Understandable, especially given the circumstances…” he agreed with a nod, rubbing a hand against his chin as he seemed to be deep in thought, ”Even if you don’t have any pure Fighting-type Pokemon, you do have a Ghost-type, which can be helpful against at least two of Whitney’s Pokemon. Thing is that her Miltank apparently has an ability that lets it hit Ghost-types even with Normal moves, so you’ll most likely have to find a work around for that.” He gave a small smile, tapping at the Pokeballs on his belt, ”I think I have a pretty decent plan that could potentially shut her Miltank down and make it at least a little easier to deal with… if it works out as intended at least…” It would be a bit on the risky side, especially given that there was a relatively large margin for error involved. But if it was able to work as he’d hoped, then dealing with the notorious cow would be a bit less of a nightmare than it would be otherwise.
”Would you prefer for me to handle this skirmish, Master Aiden? I am certain that my strength and defensive capabilities will provide an excellent asset against such a troublesome foe,”Cobalion spoke up, his sharp gaze looking towards the young man,”I am more than confident that I can take on every one of her Pokemon singlehandedly if it is what you desire.”Once again, Aiden’s cheeks burned at Cobalion’s way of addressing him, at least he wasn’t being called ‘young master’ but ‘master’ wasn’t that much better as far as he was concerned. ”Again, just Aiden is fine, there’s really no need for the noble titles or formalities,” he sighed, shaking his head before giving the legendary a warm smile, ”And I appreciate the offer, Cobalion, but I would prefer to rely on strategy and planning to beat Whitney rather than just sheer strength alone. We may need you to lend your assistance if things start taking a turn for the worse, but otherwise I’d like for you to stay back for now.” The musketeer gave a soft huff, looking almost vaguely disappointed but otherwise made no attempt to argue as his gaze returned to the path ahead.”As you wish,”he simply said.
Aiden listened as Aria offered up some suggestions for places for them to train, primarily the National Park which was only a short distance away from Goldenrod and potentially Mt. Mortar. Natalia chipped in with her two cents, saying that it was probably best for them to start at the National Park. If the Pokemon there proved to not be very worthwhile for training, then they could plan out a trip to Mt. Mortar if all else failed. ”Agreed, it would be a bit of a trip just to get all the way there and back, so it would probably be best to stick within the local area for now. Would save us a lot more time and trouble unless we really need to go out of our way as a last resort,” he added with a nod, glancing up just as they passed through the tree line separating forest from city. Aiden blinked upon noticing that the sun was already nearly set now, and with how large Goldenrod City was it would likely be well into night by the time they actually got to the park.”Goodness, I had not realized just how late it was… Time really does fly,”Aria admonished with a frown. Then again with how dense and dark Ilex Forest was it was pretty easy to lose track of time in there… Aiden nodded in agreement to Natalia’s suggestion of finding a Pokemon Center to stay the night. ”At this point we might as well, unless you’d prefer to try and pull an all-nighter training in the park tonight~” he suggested with a touch of humor in his tone, ”The Center shouldn’t be that far, though, if I recall correctly.” And sure enough, it only took roughly a few more minutes of walking through the streets for them to come across the familiar red roof of the Pokemon Center situated comfortably near the center of the city. Cobalion had briefly excused himself to take his leave and find a place closer to the forest as they entered Goldenrod so he could keep the Celebi under his jurisdiction safe, which was understandable as a couple of legendaries just waltzing into the city would surely attract unwanted attention. Nurse Joy glanced up from the front desk in the main lobby as she heard the door slide open to see the two trainers and their Pokemon enter, offering a smile and a wave to them. Her eyes lit up when she recognized Aiden and Aria among their little group.”Back so soon already?”she teased lightly with a chuckle, knowing already what they were here for as she gestured down the hall where the rooms were,”We have plenty of vacant rooms available if you’re looking to stay the night. If you have any Pokemon that need healing in the meantime, I’ll be happy to take care of them for you.”Aiden laughed good-naturedly at the nurse’s teasing remark, nodding towards her gratefully at her offer. ”Thank you, I think a place to stay is all we’ll need for now,” he answered in kind, turning to Natalia and gesturing onwards, ”Shall we?”✦ ✦

Natalia nodded in agreement as Aiden suggested training was a good idea even if he was ready to face Whitney. "That's fair. I never said you shouldn't train for other reasons, just don't sell yourself short." Natalia insisted, blunt as ever. "You could even battle her and then just come find me afterwards." She suggested, her tone a little softer. Challenging Whitney and separating would give her an opportunity to escape. Make something up, say she had to go visit her family, then things would be back to where they were supposed to be, with her out of the picture. But you'd still owe him for everything you did. Said the small voice in the back of her mind. Why was he sticking around to train with her instead of taking on the gym, anyway? Unless.... He was deliberately trying to spend more time together? It seemed like something he'd do. She wouldn't put it past him. Why challenge the gym on his own when they could do it together, right? That's what traveling companions and friends did, right? It felt like for all the time she spent trying to avoid him, Aiden was spending just as much time coming up with reasons for them to stick together. It made her feel abhorrent. Arceus, she was going to be sick.
She played it off as stressing over the need to reassess her team to compensate for their losses, re-configuring strategies, strengths, weaknesses. "Two ghost types, if I train the other one up to snuff. As far as the Miltank, losing Cynthia makes it hard, but Blaze has brick break, so if I get her trained up, the three of them could probably handle Whitney. I'll look into it." Natalia reasoned. She liked talking battle tactics. Preparing for something, making plans... It was reassuring, and made her feel safe, and in control of things. Not to mention strategy was her element. Her mind could run a million scenarios and finding a solution to each problem was extremely satisfying. The more she solved, the more gratified and confident she felt. After all, if she prepared for anything, then nothing would catch her off guard, or take her by surprise. It gave her something to hold on to when everything else was falling apart, so once she'd found this safety line, she clung fast to it. "Oh? What's your plan? Or is it so secret you can't even tell me?" Natalia asked, a smart smile crossing her mouth with amusement at the thought.
The cobalion cut in to offer his assistance in the upcoming battle. It made sense. If Aiden used him, a legendary fighting type, Whitney's team would be down in a matter of minutes, but Natalia knew Aiden wasn't going to rely on the cobalion's strength. He wasn't the type. Sure enough, Aiden politely declined the musketeer's offer, or rather insisted on using him only as a last resort. Natalia couldn't help feeling vindictively satisfied, seeing the cobalion getting shut down, but the brief feeling was quickly smothered as Natalia silently chastised herself for taking pleasure in such a stupid and childish thing.
As far as their options for training, Aiden agreed with her plan to start in National Park since it was more local. Of course, first it seemed they would be needing to get a room for the night since the day had gone by far quicker than any of them had anticipated. Apparently the Nurse Joy must have seen Aiden here recently, recognizing and teasing him good-naturedly for being back again so soon. Somehow, it made Natalia's blood burn. Though the feelings themselves were different than the ones she held about Aiden's new cobalion companion, they were equally as irrational and acting on them would be out of line. Or, at least that's what she told herself, and yet she couldn't help but shoot the pink haired woman an icy look. "Yeah." She responded curtly when Aiden gestured down the hall, and she turned to move through it, still clutching Thalia close to her chest.
Her head hurt. It felt like she was riding some strange emotional roller coaster of highs and lows and she couldn't get off even if she tried. She couldn't even explain what was going on, or why, though she wanted to. The logical, rational part of her brain said that she was being unreasonable and rude, while her emotional state was very bluntly telling that part of her brain to take it's observations and shove it. The result was Natalia storming down the hallway and then stopping about halfway through before turning back to Aiden with a disgruntled and look on her face. "I don't know which room I'm supposed to go in." She declared, her tone making it seem as if that was the reason why she was suddenly so upset. Then again maybe it was? Arceus, she didn't know! It felt like she was about to throw a tantrum because she couldn't pick a damn room, and if that wasn't pathetic, she didn't know what was.
"Fey, I'm sorry you don't know what room you need to go in. Would you like us to pick one for you...?" Nyomii said slowly. Natalia wrinkled her nose. "I'm not a child. I can pick my own room.""Did anyone say you were a child? Of course you can pick your own room." Nyomii continued, trying to keep her voice as soothing and slow as possible. Not denying anything Natalia said, but trying to reason with her as well. "No one said it. I just... Feel like one." Natalia continued to stare angrily at the hallway, not moving. "And why is that, dear?" Nyomii asked, but Natalia didn't respond, seeming lost.
So Nyomii tried a different approach. "Have you played chess before, Fey?" Natalia stared at Nyomii. Where the hell did that come from? That was a random question, but she didn't see the harm in answering. "No...? I don't think so.... Well, maybe. I might have.... I'm not sure. I feel like I did." Natalia was still quite confused. That's fine. I know your memories are still a little fuzzy, but I think you would be very good at it. Now do me a favor and take a deep breath. Nyomii said privately before continuing. "I think you and I should play some time." Natalia wasn't sure what breathing had to do with anything, but a deep breath sounded nice right about now, so she didn't see the harm in it. "Yeah... Maybe. That sounds fun." All the tension and frustration in her seemed to have dissipated for now. "Would you like to pick a room to stay in now?" Nyomii suggested, and Natalia nodded slowly, approaching one of the rooms and opening the door before going inside. Afterwards, Nyomii breathed a sigh of relief, smiling apologetically at the rest of their group before following after her trainer.

✦ ✦Aiden glanced towards Natalia as she nodded in agreement to his insistence on training even though he was probably already quite well prepared to take on Whitney. She said that she never did say that he shouldn’t train for other reasons, insisting that he shouldn’t sell himself short. The bluntness of her tone caught him off guard a bit, though he offered a small smile as she added that he could go to battle Whitney and then go find her afterwards. ”Ah… Well, if you insist…” he said with a soft chuckle, ”That sounds like a good plan to me.” Yet he could feel in the deepest part of his subconscious that something was still off. Something about Natalia just felt different from normal… flashbacks of her breaking down back in the Berry Forest played through his mind, catatonic as she rocked back and forth muttering about Aipoms… After learning from Aria that she had some kind of mental condition, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder were two of the potential illnesses he had remembered her mentioning, everything was gradually starting to make so much more sense now. He knew he had to help her somehow… yet as someone with very limited knowledge of mental illnesses in general he wasn’t entirely certain of how to go about it. Aria would know so much more about that than him, she had been a nurse’s assistant for years after all…
For now, he focused back on the topic at hand as they began discussing potential strategies for getting through Whitney’s gym. He hummed and nodded in affirmation at her mention of actually having two Ghost-types, realizing that he had nearly forgotten about her Rotom. Still, she had to train the other one before it would be strong enough to stand a good chance against Whitney’s Pokemon. And for the Miltank, to Natalia’s misfortune losing half of her team during the time warp had been a bit of unfortunate timing as she had also lost her Mega Lopunny Cynthia in the shuffle. Without any Fighting-type Pokemon on her team, Natalia was left at a bit of a disadvantage, though her Quilava had Brick Break as a Fighting-type move. Between her and the Ghost-types on her team, she could probably manage Whitney’s team, though she’d have to look more into it. ”Sounds like you’re pretty well prepared for the most part in spite of the circumstances,” Aiden offered, humming thoughtfully, ”If you have any Steel-types as well, those could definitely come in handy since they have resistance and I doubt any of Whitney’s team really has anything to counter them.” He noticed how she seemed more relaxed while they discussed tactics, perhaps she liked solving puzzles and making preparations ? Maybe he should keep that in mind, just in case… A light laugh left his lips when she prodded him for information about his plan, asking if it was so secret that he couldn’t tell her anything about it. ”I mean, it’s not really that much of a secret if you put it into perspective. I doubt I’d really have to say much for you to figure it out,” he suggested with a small grin, nodding towards her as she smiled at him, ”I will tell you that it involves a little move called Skill Swap, it lets your Pokemon swap their own abilities for their opponent’s, and vice versa.” He ran a hand through his spiky blonde hair, shaking his head a little. ”To be honest, it’s not exactly a perfect plan. There’s still quite a few things that could go wrong, and it’ll definitely require a bit of luck on our part,” he admitted, especially knowing that Whitney would definitely have a bit more of an overall advantage, ”But if I can manage to get it to work as intended, it could make dealing with her Miltank a fair bit easier.”
At this point, Cobalion spoke up to offer his own assistance for the gym battle, suggesting that he had a good advantage over Whitney’s Pokemon due to his Fighting/Steel typing. Of course, while getting through gyms just by sheer brute force alone was in some ways a valid method, that wouldn’t be the case for every gym they came across. The gyms would only get tougher as they kept advancing through their challenges, and would require more than just sending out his strongest Pokemon to fight and maybe they might be able to pull out a win. They’d have to plan things out and strategize, build up their strengths and change up their movesets to include what could be most helpful against their opponents. Aiden politely declined the musketeer’s offer, saying that they still might need him as a last resort of things really started going downhill. Of course, he doubted it would come to such drastic measures if he played his cards right, but it was always good to have a Plan B to fall back on if Plan A somehow went terribly wrong. Cobalion seemed somewhat disappointed at being left out of the action, but didn’t try to argue otherwise. Even so, Aiden was sure that the musketeer’s capabilities would come in handy later down the line, he would certainly be helpful when they’d eventually go on to battle Jasmine and her Steel-types in Olivine City.
With the two trainers in agreement of sticking close to the local area in terms of training unless they had to go more out of their way as a last resort, they entered Goldenrod City just as the sun had almost nearly set. With Cobalion leaving their company for now to find a safe place closer to the forest alongside his Celebi charge, Aiden, Natalia, and their Pokemon headed into the Pokemon Center to find a room to stay the night. The blonde chuckled softly as the Nurse Joy gave a friendly teasing remark to him and Aria, as they had stopped by this same Pokemon Center earlier to freshen up before going to Ilex to train. However, it seemed Natalia didn’t take quite as kindly to the nurse’s joking remark, as Aria felt a sudden sense of vitriol radiating off of the girl as she shot the pink-haired woman a sharp glare before they took their leave and headed down the hall to grab a room for the night. Thalia grimaced slightly at the wave of negative emotions she could feel radiating off of the girl, instinctively nuzzling closer against her as she was still being cradled in Natalia’s arms. They made their way down the hall about halfway before Natalia suddenly stopped, turning to face Aiden with a frustrated and troubled expression on her face as she said that she didn’t know which room to go in. ”Uhh…” the blonde hesitated, unsure of what to say. It was then that Nyomii chose to cut in, and Aiden felt a hand light gently on his shoulder as Aria came up beside him and shot him a knowing look. He gave a nod of understanding, letting Nyomii do whatever it was she was doing since she seemed to have more of a grasp on how to resolve this situation. And after a bit, it appeared to actually be working as Natalia appeared to gradually calm down as she took a deep breath, before finding a room and entering inside. Aiden hesitated as he watched her disappear into the room with the Espeon in tow, offering a soft smile in response to the Psychic-type’s more apologetic one.
He had initially thought that maybe it would be better for them to stay in different rooms for tonight, maybe Natalia just needed some space and time to recuperate after the whirlwind ride they’d been on after being sent forward in time. But now… he felt that maybe he should go with her. She hadn’t really seemed like herself for almost the whole day… Flashes of Aria’s conversation with him about Natalia’s pills and that they were meant to treat psychological illnesses played through his mind, he remembered the Delphox mentioning that he would need to be supportive of her, even when her symptoms might start flaring up… He remembered her saying that Natalia’s current medication was likely starting to lose its ability to treat her symptoms effectively, and Arceus knows how long she’d been taking the same pills for even before he had met her in New Bark Town… He glanced over towards the Delphox, who returned his gaze with a soft smile as she subtly tilted her head towards the room.”Go,”she urged gently, moving off to the side to stand by the doorway. Taking her cue, Aiden pulled out Dag’s Pokeball, returning the Jolteon before slowly opening the door to the room and following after Natalia inside. Even though he had very little idea of how he could help her with taking care of this sickness of hers, that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to try his hardest to at least attempt to understand it a little better. ”Natalia…” he spoke up once he was inside, carefully closing the door behind him as he looked to her, ”I… I apologize for the intrusion, but… can we just talk for a bit? Just the both of us?” He honestly did feel rather nervous, unsure of how she’d react overall to his presence and his proposal. The blonde already had a feeling of what was likely coming, she’d probably try to lie, to distract and deflect to try and avoid the situation. But Aiden felt that this was too important to just ignore, and he wasn’t going to let her weasel her way out of it that easily. He was worried about her… he wanted to help her to the best of his ability, but he needed to know what was going on with her so that he could get more of semblance of how he could do so.✦ ✦

Natalia nodded as Aiden advised her to use any steel types she had as well. "Yeah, good idea." She did have one; the strange shark pokemon she'd hatched. She supposed training him wouldn't be a bad idea either. She was more curious as to what Aiden's "secret plan" was, though. He downplayed it as usual, but Natalia remained quiet as he explained. Honestly, she was impressed. "That's a great idea." She commended, giving a nod of approval. Most importantly, it dealt with Whitney's miltank, which everyone knew was a force to be reckoned with.
Unfortunately, the conversation didn't stay quite so pleasant. Something about the complicated feelings she had about their cobalion companion and the sudden surge of irritation towards the Nurse Joy that greeted them in the lobby left Natalia spiraling out of control until Nyomii talked her back out of it with some therapeutic conversation. When Natalia calmed down enough to pick a room, she walked through the door with Nyomii at her heels. She knew she should probably change into some night clothes, but she set her bag down and sprawled out on the mattress, feeling tired and wanting to rest her eyes for just a moment.
Natalia's eyes only opened again when she heard Aiden call her name, looking at him curiously as he apologized and asked to talk. "Uh... Yeah, sure...?" She agreed hesitantly, though she felt a bit nervous about it. Did she say something weird? Did he notice that she didn't remember something she should have? What did he want to talk about? As much as she wanted to know, she also had a feeling she knew already, and her instincts said to avoid it at all costs. "I mean... Can it wait till morning?" She chuckled, making herself appear relaxed as she did so even though on the inside she was freaking out. "It is late, after all. I'm sure a good rest will help any conversations we have." Not to mention give her time to come up with answers for any potential questions he had. It sounded like a reasonable enough request, at least.

✦ ✦Aiden smiled warmly as Natalia agreed with his suggestion to use any Steel-types she might have on her, as they had natural resistance to Normal type moves. And while he doubted any of Whitney’s Pokemon had any Fighting-type attacks that they could use to hard counter against Steel, on the off chance that they did Natalia could just switch in one of her Ghost types to absorb the hit. His thoughts flashed back to that odd shark Pokemon that had hatched out of the egg she had back in Violet City, Aklor he had believed it was called. It certainly didn’t look like any Pokemon he had ever seen before, but from what he could recall of how it looked… he supposed it would technically be a Steel-type, right? A flush of warmth colored Aiden’s face as Natalia commended him on his plan to use Skill Swap as a means to shut down the Miltank’s capability of hitting Ghost-types even with its Normal moves. Even though he knew there was still quite a bit of room for error and there was a small percentage of a chance that it might not even work at all if luck happened to be not in their favor, it would be a good way of dealing with Whitney’s strongest Pokemon if it worked out as he’d hoped. ”Ah… Th-Thanks,” he murmured modestly, quite happy that she found the use of such a tactic to be quite impressive in spite of his own doubts.
To their misfortune, however, things didn’t stay quite so pleasant for long when they reached the Pokemon Center in Goldenrod. Natalia seemed to be rather peeved at Nurse Joy for what appeared to be no reason when the pink haired woman teasingly greeted Aiden and Aria, which soon transitioned into her nearly having a fit when she couldn’t decide on a room to stay in for the night. Aiden, still being relatively inexperienced with dealing with this kind of thing, was at a loss of what to say that could help to defuse the situation. However, Nyomii managed to get a handle on it and calm her down, allowing Natalia to pick a room and enter with the Espeon following her. Hesitantly, Aiden followed in after her, Aria sticking around outside in the hall for a little longer to give them some space to talk. Natalia had already begun settling herself down as she put her bag down by one of the beds and flopped down onto it, closing her eyes for a bit. When Aiden spoke up, she opened her eyes and looked at him curiously when he apologized and asked if they could talk for a bit.
She agreed, if rather hesitantly, though Aiden knew better than to just believe her from the outset. Natalia went on to then ask if it could wait until tomorrow, suggesting that it was late and that resting up would help with any conversations they’d have. The blonde’s face set into a neutral expression, she seemed like she was trying to keep calm and relaxed but a part of felt… forced, from the looks of it. He had expected her to do this, try and distract him to try and get out of actually talking to him about these kinds of things. Not this time, however… ”I think this is something very important that needs to be addressed now, Natalia… I understand that it’s late and we’re both rather tired from everything that’s happened today, but I promise to keep it brief,” he assured, setting down his own bags and moving to sit down on the other bed across from her. Resting his hands on his knees, Aiden sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he looked towards her, brow furrowed with a deeply worried expression. ”You… You’ve been acting pretty strangely all day, Natalia,” he spoke, pulling at his bottom lip with his teeth as he shook his head, ”I’m sure you probably might have noticed by now, but… it’s very concerning, to say the least…” He kept himself calm and cool even as his gaze never left her, thinking that maybe if he stayed as such it would keep her from potentially freaking out. He wasn’t even entirely certain of what had triggered her breakdown back in the Berry Forest, and he would prefer to avoid that kind of situation from happening if it could be helped. ”Look, I’m not going to make you launch into a big explanation about it or anything like that. I can understand that it’s very personal and not something you’d be comfortable with being open about even with someone you know pretty well,” he added, offering a small, warm smile as he nodded towards her, ”But… at the very least I’d like to be clued in as to what’s going on, if it would help me to understand the situation better if even just a little… Even just a tiny little piece would be helpful for figuring out more of the overall puzzle, you know?”
A wry chuckle left his lips at that, he hated feeling useless when someone who was a close friend of his was clearly going through some kind of trouble. His thoughts flashed back to his old friend Darius at the Memorial Pillar, how he had said that he wished he could’ve done more to help when Team Void had invaded the island instead of just hiding away… ”Whatever the problem is doesn’t matter to me, Natalia… I just want to be able to help you through it however I can, even if it’s in the most minor, insignificant way possible…” he said in a much quieter tone, his expression softening as he let his eyes drift away from her momentarily. He looked down at the mattress beneath him, a sudden thought occurring to him as he looked back to her. ”I, uh… suppose you wouldn’t mind us sharing the room for the night in the meantime?” he asked, hoping that she would be okay with them just staying together in the same room. He felt that it was probably for the best to stay with her, just so he could check in on her and make sure she was okay…✦ ✦
