So it would seem, since Arcanus = Arcana.
I'm glad that they did that, actually. That way we're still getting a card theme, just not the same type of cards.
I like the change to Harumani's name too. Amiti rolls off the tongue better, and according to one of my friends, it also means something along the lines of "harmony" in whatever language it originates from.
Changing Stella's name was a stupid idea though, in my opinion.

Augh, why was there a change to Stella's name at all? D: "Stella" was fine! I mean, the character limit to names was extended, right? What with "Matthew" and all.

I DO like Sveta, but I still wish they didn't change her name. I prefered Stella, but it won't take me long to get used to Sveta. Apparently, Sveta means "light" or something, so the name still basically means the same thing. (Stella meaning "star", of course.) Stella was a nice name though... sad But Sveta sounds kinda badass. I guess I'm okay with it.

Damn!
And I was so excited to play and revive Stella and say at some point that that was indeed how Stella got her groove back.

As far as I've heard, there is no known way to rename any characters except Matthew so far.

On a somewhat related note, I wonder if are there people who still prefer to call Piers "Picard"? Silly peoples. That name is for starfleet captains. whee

Azura Cantarella Damn!On a somewhat related note, I wonder if are there people who still prefer to call Piers "Picard"? Silly peoples. That name is for starfleet captains. whee POW POW PICARD! Oh man, I remember THOSE days... By the way guys, here is the link to the english site if you want to look at it: http://goldensun.nintendo.com/
And here are the profiles for the characters from the site. I'll white them out for those who might not want to read them:
>Matthew The hero of this tale, Matthew is a skilled Earth Adept like his father Isaac, who led the warriors of Vale. Matthew is a person of few words, but strong convictions.
Tyrell Tyrell is a Fire Adept, following in the footsteps of his father, Garet. He has a reputation for being a troublemaker, but Matthew is still proud to call him his best friend.
Karis This Wind Adept is a longtime friend of Matthew and Tyrell. She inherits keen observation skills and an indominable from her father Ivan, once a warrior of Vale.
Rief This Water Adept has travelled the world, studying Alchemy and other traces of the ancient world. Rief is an apprentice under the tutelage of Kraden.
Sveta Sveta is an Adept whose form was mutated following the Golden Sun phenomenon. With her heightened sensitivity, she uses her Psynergy to read thoughts and detect odors others cannot sense.
Amiti A Water Adept of royal lineage. His origins are shrouded in mystery, and he seems to have his own difficult destiny.
Eoleo This young pirate has succeded his father, Briggs, as the scourge of the Eastern Sea. He has been captured by Morgal forces and is being held in Belinsk.
Himi This young girl is daughter to Susa and Kushinada of Yamata. She supposedly possesses remarkable powers.
Kraden He is a renowned authority on Alchemy, Psynergy, and ancient cultures. He once travelled with the Warriors of Vale, now conducting research with two young apprentices.
Isaac This Earth Adept led the Warriors of Vale 30 years ago. He now lives in a cabin that looks upon distant Mount Aleph, where he trains his son, Matthew, in the use of Psynergy.
Arcanus This masked man is apparently in league with Tuaparang. While he currently cooperates with Tuaparang, his goals in doing so remain mysterious.
Chalis This woman brims with a beauty that's rarely seen among the people of Angara. She is partnered with Blados, subtly pushing Matthew and his friends to accomplish their goals.
Blados This Tuaparang commander is a master swordsman constantly looking for a fight. He works closely with Chalis, manipulating Matthew's group to accomplish their own sinister goals.<
And here are translations of the characters' profiles from the Spanish Dark Dawn site. It's basically says the same things, but includes certain other specific bits of info...
>Matthew This earth adept is the son of the leader of the Warriors of Vale, Isaac. Like his father, he's a young man of few words and strong convictions.
Karis This wind adept is a friend to Matthew and Tyrell. She has inherited the iron-willed determination and deductive skills of her father Ivan, one of the Warriors of Vale.
Tyrell This young fire adept is the only child of Garet. He's known for being a problem child, but Matthew has always considered him his best friend.
Rief This water adept has traveled the entire world in order to study Alchemy and relics from anitquity. Rief is one of the wise Kraden's pupils.
Himi The youngest daughter of the rulers of Yamata, Susa and Kushinada. It is believed that she harbors impressive powers.
Sveta An adept who possesses the ability to read minds and visualize odors. She has very developed senses.
Eoleo This young pirate is the worthy successor to his father Briggs, the scourge of the eastern sea. The army of Morgal has taken him prisoner, and he is imprisoned in Belinski.
Amiti A water adept of royal lineage. His origins are a mystery and it seems as though his destiny will only bring him difficulties.
Isaac Isaac is an earth adept who led the Warriors of Vale thirty years ago. He is the father of Matthew, who he has been training to use psynergy while watching over Mount Aleph from his observatory.
Kraden He is one of the foremost experts on all that relates to Alchemy, psynergy, and ancient civilizations. He was a part of the Warriors of Vale's troupe, but now he dedicates himself to the instruction of his two young pupils.
Arcanus An enigmatic masked man who seems to work in conjunction with Tuaparang.
Chalis A mysterious woman of troublesome beauty, she has allied herself with Blados in order to devise a plan that involves Matthew and his companions as they intend for them to play a role in their own goals.
Blados This Tuaparangian commander is a formidable swordsman who never passes up an opportunity to put his fighting skills on display. He conspires with Chalis to ensure that Matthew's group helps the sinister plan they've schemed together succeed.<

Those spoilers are quite... spoily. >Well at least we have a conformation that Himi is not Takeru. but that still doesn't mean that Takeru IS in the game. It said that Himi is the youngest DAUGHTER. Imagine Susa's dissappointment in having several daughters, but no son. gonk

Time for more word-of-mouth, I guess.
>I've been hearing that they do directly reference Takeru at times, saying that he's off on a journey or something and that's why you don't see him in the game.<

ThePhantomSquee Time for more word-of-mouth, I guess. > I've been hearing that they do directly reference Takeru at times, saying that he's off on a journey or something and that's why you don't see him in the game.< Makes sense as to why Himi looks so young in retrospect to the others.
And the fact that Garet only had one kid sorta irks me... he came from a rather large family...
And why would it only say he's the only child? Does that mean Matthew has a sibling?
And I enjoyed Picard more than Piers. Piers was a destination, while Picard was a reference to a ship captain. Piers handled a ship. Hence... bah, I didn't like Star Trek (that's where it's from right?)
