gonk i try to clean the edges of anything i make now [it's hard because i don't have a brush with a solid edge on the program i use, that i know of]. but people still have older bases from me.

What program do you use Pug? And I thought your newer wigs were no problem at all when I last had one come my way.

Nowadays when I make a hairstyle, I will draw the basic shape of it with a solid pencil tool, fill it in then lock the layer so that all the shading only affects the solid space and doesn't blur out into the surrounding area.

It's mainly the parts that overlap the body that are the problem. You know, the parts that would lie in front of the clothes that another editor (for example, me) would be adding.

Amen to that!!
It also makes the base-maker's work look better when it can be paired easily with another's.

Pug? Have you tried making your brush hard or soft? The default in my program is 50% so I always change it. See if you can find a way to do that.
(Or find some harder brushes to download)

I hear you Puggy.... the program I have is like that too. I have to go back and forth between Deleter and MSPaint to clean up my edges.

But I know there's a photoshop under that tree for meeee....... 4laugh

happy birthday Mercy ^___^ wahmbulance heart

I'm getting the new photoshop CS2 ^_^
[obligated by school] but I edit on paint shop pro / It's really easy to pixel with, you cnans set 'hardness' to 100 and you get clean, crisp edges like the ones on my edits *nods* I don't like all them blur tools and stuff.
I only use a tad of burn or lighten when I'm REALLY annoyed xD
so yuh.

I've decided to just stop being snobby about burn and dodge and use the tools that I'm given. But I still believe in using the right tool for the right job, and they're not the right tools for everything!
