The bane of my existence, I can't even look at this thing anymore. I feel the need to point out that the layout and broadly the colors were no choice of mine. Brown and red fan? Yeah, that's not where I'd have gone. I wouldn't have gone the nailpolish route either, but I'm still using all my usual tricks. I do think the skin turned out marvelously. No, the degree of paleness wasn't my choice either, but I think her face came out beautifully. I do really hate that dragon though, now I'm going to spend weeks making myself draw Chinese dragons so that I can get them right next time.

I think I fixed it, I'm looking at it now and I can see it but last night things were all kinds of ******** up. At least I pass this drawing along and they love it, no changes! Thank god. The jpegs screwed the colors up some sadly.

I can see it. You did a great job! You guys that can't see it might want to check your Gaia Preferences and change it to "allow/show all images". Here's a link to the image though, try clicking on it seeing it you can check it out that way http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v65/celaeno/tao02C1.jpg

Actually, I rather like the dragon. It looks a lot like the ukiyo-e I've seen (which I know is Japanese, but anyways) especially around the eyes, hair, and snout.
The only bit that looked odd to me was the placement of the lady and the dragon. You're not entirely sure if she's near it or on it.

Yeah, I think that would be my only wonder too. I was too busy looking at the actual dragon to notice it until HB pointed it out. whee

gonk An unfortunate side effect of having to redraw the dragon independently of the woman five times, then being told to simply copy the proportions of a 600 year old print badly scanned. Everything I tried to do to fix it was met with, "no, I liked it the other way, put it back." The most deliberately difficult people I've ever worked for.

They are bizarrely retentive about some of this s**t. Oh the stories I could tell...they ended up not having enough money to pay my full rate either so I'm taking a cut on this, which sucks mightily and is one of the reasons I'm not nearly as concerned about floating figures on this as I would normally be.

Do they wish to get it tattooed to them? Is that why they're so picky? White tattoo ink isn't opaque enough to make much of a difference, it's extremely subtle on it's own.
