I just got back from Katsucon '08 in Washington DC! My anime club had a table there, and so we were selling copies of DMO and other kinds of artwork. Sales were pretty good for the weekend, and I even got a copy of the book into the hands of some well-known web-comic authors!

So, did you have fun?
Speaking of Washington DC... I use to never think I'd ever want to go back there after living there for 10 months, but now I miss all of the museums. There's only like one in the city I live in and it's a children's museum. And the National Zoo is the only zoo I've ever been in that didn't make me want to cry (I hate seeing animals in cages that are too small for them) and the two pandas they have there are so cute.

Oh, what a cute story! I think I'd love DC--a few years back, I did a project on their cherry blossom festival. It sounds beautiful. I've always wanted to go, but I've never gotten the opportunity.
And KiyoKyo, I'm glad for you. It's pretty impressive. Did you get to meet Piro? (Or should I say Fred?) You know, from Megatokyo?
Love and Vale, -Andrew

You're telling me. I was in Val's (choir angel) charity thread and there was this girl in there. She was typing like a typical GDer. I seriously wanted to rip my eyes out.
Anyway, one of the guys made a comment about her being a bad speller. She got offended and so he apologized. Then the guy that actually helps run the charity asked her not to bump because it was against their rules. Then she went in her quest thread and started talking about how mean the people who run the charity are and how they think they're better than everyone else. She continued to say that they were talking down to her and whatnot.
It was just stupid....

I didn't meet Piro (I don't think he was there), but I did meet Phil & Kaja Foglio (Girl Genius) and Mookie (Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire), both of whom went home with copies of DMO. I'd call that a success.

Ooh, Fred from Megatokyo... Now there's something I can chat about! I met him and Sarah back in 2003 when I actually still cared about online comics and read them, and still liked anime. Haha. I actually have a little drawing he did in my autograph book... And Sarah signed my Mokona plushie. They both gave me hugs, they were very sweet. And so cute! <3 Couples are adorable!
Oh Oracle for Hire! Speaking of, what's Mookie like in person, Kiyo? That's one of the few online comics I actually still read. I honestly need to catch up on it, its been a while since I read it. (That one, and Kagerou, but I've been reading Kagerou since it started, like 42 chapters and six or seven years ago, and have not only watched the artist evolve, but had some killer online conversations with him as well.) Mookie seems like such a sweetie in his update posts.
By the way, sorry I've been absent... I've recently ended my contract with GoodWill and have been searching for another job, to no avail... Le sigh.

Mookie is a really cool, laid back person. His webcomic is www.dominic-deegan.com. DD keeps on going, and it's pretty interesting so far. I only hope that my DMO can get as popular as some of these guys are...

Le sigh. That's so cool! I'm so glad that fame hasn't gone to their heads. Fred and Sarah always seemed like kind people--just read their blogs and you can tell. You know, I've missed you like hell--I wanted to call you or PM you or whatever, but I was a little worried that I would bug you. Now I'm kicking myself, because you might have been.... In need, perhaps. I'm sorry. For future reference, whenever you're gone for more than a week at a time, post or I'll PM you to get the story. I know I'm talking to the webcomic crowd here, so let me advertise for an up-and-coming comic called Looking For Group. And are you ever going to get reading KareKano!?! Oh, and KiyoKyo, I've got another friend hooked on DMO--and he doesn't even like to read. Cheers to you, man. Love and Vale, -LeaVaros

I prefer LFG's sort of mother-comic, Least I Could Do. They both have the same writer and artist, LICD was just first. It's nuts that they're so different...
And check it out, I'm Wilhelmina Wonka!

My friends love Looking for Group. I've read some of it, but I'd rather read an actual book. Staring at the computer for too long hurts my eyes burning_eyes .
