The headmaster had to be cryptic. Cerulean groaned into the grass as he was practically still with the same knowledge as before. Why couldn't they have done something simpler? They should have gone to a different class but with his arm messed up anything combat related was not wise. Puffing out more air from his lips the penguin was caught by surprise as the adult kicked him in the shoe. Normally some would think this was rude but not Ceru, his puff of air turned into a muffled “wee” as he somewhat listened to the headmasters hints. Measuring the create? That, that had to be it? There had been red marks on only two corners, which if joined together formed a line.
“ooooh…. ohh this is that weird pyth… pylgrim…. p something triangle stuff!” Obviously he was not one for remembering such names. What was the formula again? Rolling onto his back he lifted up his non broken arm and began to count on his fingers. “C squared… is b squared plus a squared. If… a is 10 and be is 10 then…” He was stuck unable to do the numbers but then his eyes grew wide. He pulled out his scroll and opened up the calculator function. “14! The answer is 14!!!!” Who was he talking to? Probably himself. Lyo and Ryker were focused on the. The only one that would perhaps pay attention to him was Netami.
▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ Ryker would notice Aurtrox seemed to come down to respond to them, finally, though it was just as cryptic as before. How it boiled down to, from what Ryker understood, is that they were still on their own to figure this out and he wasn't going to help them. Going with the usual teacher nonsense of this being a real life situation they would need to apply and have use of in the future. 'This is more riddles than mathematics,' he thought to himself. He was sure there was some contrived math here and Aurtrox felt it was a fair test with enough hints. Ryker sure as hell did not feel that way though, but not much he could do about it at this stage besides continue the plan of attempting to abuse the fact they weren't given limits on how to solve things. As he reached Lyosha, he'd see the guy was pretty ticked at the machine as he lost the second attempt. He couldn't blame the guy; Ryker himself was annoyed with this entire class and that it increasingly looked like they may not pass it. But he was gonna be damned if he gave up before trying to at least succeed at once of them. As the guy would say they needed to beat it 4 more times, Ryker would sadly nod his head. "Seems so. At least this machine is straightforward compared to the other riddles though," Ryker would offer with a sigh.
As he said that Ryker was probably much stronger than him, Ryker let out a bit of a laugh. He didn't know if the guy was sincere or not, but he knew himself to not be that strong. And just his earlier attempts alone showed Ryker this guy was way stronger than him. As the guy grabbed on, Ryker would follow suit as he heard him say if it didn't work his semblance would trigger. "If it helps us beat these damn tests i'm all for it," he would say, not realizing what Lyosha's semblance actually was. As he asked if he was ready, Ryker would chime in resolutely. "Ready," was all he would say as they began. Even in the first few seconds Ryker was sincerely surprised by how strong this guy; and how strong the machine had to have been to resist him. Ryker would give it his all as well, straining himself and putting his body weight behind their hands to help give a bit more force to it even before the guy yelled to do it. Ryker would not want to get on this guys bad side, that was for sure, but for now he just took the guys intensity and strength as a boon since they were on the same side; pass this damn test. He also noticed the guys skin felt rock-hard; maybe a faunus with barely visible traits, or maybe the guy was using his semblance. Or it could be anything really; Ryker wasn't concerned for the moment as his cheetah tail swung in irritation. Thankfully, the machine gave way to their combined efforts. "Hell yeah, we did it!" Ryker would cheer slightly as the timer went down, feeling pumped that team work had paid off. Aurtrox would take the time to speak now, saying how they needed to combat the cybernetics strengths, and that there was a more clever way to do it without wrestling at all. Ryker...really wanted payback against Aurtrox in the future. The guy was being cryptic as hell, as was this class, and had done little to help clear things up. Ignoring the headmaster for now, more resolved for the prank he had in store for him, he would notice as the robot of Netami's came and failed the counter stayed at 3. So definitely needed a victory to tick it.
"Ready for a few more rounds," he would ask looking over to Lyosha with a smile. He felt a bit of comradery to him and the rest of the students at this stage; they all had to deal with this BS to pass. He just hoped the others could figure out the other crates; for now he was sticking with Lyo to finish off this one before he went to another. If Lyo agreed, he would work with him to beat the challenge two more times; sweating lightly from exertion but feeling it was worth it as the timer went from 3 to 1. They only had to win once more to pass this crate. "One sec before we continue, I need a breather," Ryker would say as he caught his breath, hand feeling sore from all the exertion as he stretched it to ease out the tension. He had not seen the headmaster kick Ceru, but his attention was drawn when Cerulean began yelling 14 as an answer. "What's fourteen the answer too? Either way give it a shot if you got it. We got nothing to lose in trying the attempt," Ryker would yell out to him as he mentally prepared for the next attempt and tried to think of what the other riddle answers could even be.
Lyosha looked over to Ryker and nodded, “Yeah...ya’ could say that again…” He muttered as he took a breath, although sooner or later the bits of visible aura disappeared as he calmed down. He chuckled whenever he spoke about his semblance. “Well Ryker- if my semblance activates then we’re I’m out of this class for sure.” He said with a nervous laugh- knowing that his semblance would make him tired and possibly violent inside this thinking-team class. His eyes- like daggers looked to the teacher as he prepared to try again. And whenever Ryker gripped the machine too, he put all of his force into it, his muscles and veins bulging from their hard skin that Lyosha had. However- Lyosha did not realize how much Ryker figured out by touch. Lyosha knew he had hard skin but to assume it was because of being a faunus? Preposterous! He grunted as they finished it two times in a row with a smile on his face, in between the tries he smiled, cheering with Ryker too! His smile was wide as he looked at it. He nodded, “Yeah- I gotcha,” He said as sweat dripped from his face as he looked about, Grumbling about the fact that he had to do this again. However- he would do it, he placed his hand onto the machine wants more, sweaty, tired, and somewhat sore (still recovering from his mission, punching bears wasn’t his strong suit) He tried to understand what the others were saying- but after he did this he would try. He wasn’t dumb, he passed most of his classes in highschool. But he knew this was what him and Ryker could mostly contribute. “Well- after we beat this stupid box, I’ll help ya’ solve those boxes once this f*cker’s strong box is broken.” He said with a chuckle as he gripped the arm and waited for Ryker to help him once again. His hat slipped up a bit, revealing the nubs slightly but enough to expose that they were rubbed raw by said hat.

Given the wide possibility of semblances he had seen, his could honestly be anything. He wouldn't press the guy more in regards to that though; it was up to him if he wanted to share it. And he made note not to trigger it; Ryker was thinking maybe this guy had explosions or something since he mentioned. Which would be pretty funny to see the crates get sent flying away; it would for sure be a nice feeling with how frustrating this trial was. Ryker liked him; tough guy but he seemed nice enough. At least he had the same mentality as Ryker of how this class was going. As they passed the first two attempts, they were in good spirits at the very least. It felt good to be making progress to something instead of just spinning their wheels and wracking their minds. For Ryker at least. They both needed that brief break as well; he was sweating even more than Ryker from the exertion, which made since given the guy was going solo for two rounds before Ryker came to try to help him out. He was just glad he was able to. After Ryker spoke, he would offer to help with the others as well once they were done with the cybernetic arm. As he got ready to continue, Ryker would get back into position to help. He would notice some nubs on the guys head that seemed raw. 'Huh,' Ryker thought, curious what they were. Right before they started, curiosity would get the better of him. "What happened with those? Wearing that hat with them looks like it was painful," Ryker would comment/ ask, a bit of sincere concern in his voice. Whatever it was did not look like it was nice feeling. After the question though, Ryker would help Lyosha against the machine regardless of how/if he answered. He was determined to get at least one victory in in this class even if they failed. Straining and putting all his effort into it, body shaking from the exertion, Ryker would give this final go his all. And, with his help, they would be able to. Or so he thought at least as they beat the machine.

Aurtrox saw that Ceru was on the right path. Out of all the students, it was a bit surprisingly, but the penguin was smarter than he looked."Ceru, red is dead..." Aurtrox saidwith a wink, he was halfway there to part of the answer, he just needed that number in the right context now. Aurtrox would next walk past Ryker and Lyo, giving them an approving nod at their victories over the mechanical arm."One left? Or four down..." He said in an archaic tone before his wings lifted out and pushed down once, sending him into the air. He gently glided over to the next. Of course they would beat the machine soon after he left. The final number resting at zero. Or was it five downs?"I will say that each crate's puzzle decides the order of the passcode... The first crate represents the first character in the passcode, the second crate represents the second character, and so on. You have what you need now to enter the code." He would smile as he made a full circle back to the first crate where they would all gather. They simply needed to start guessing now.
Crate: 1
This crate once opened, reveals a large square vault. It is very simple, one side has a door, and a simple password interface consisting of a keyboard and hardlight screen. There are five spaces signaling that the password is only five characters. The keyboard is a full standard computer keyboard with numbers, letters, etc. On the front face of the vault the bottom right corner, and the top left corners are painted red. Is nothing really nothing? Does space not exist?
Crate: 2
This crate once opened, reveals a table with two pieces of paper on it.
First piece of paper:"Mathematics, in the real world are not as simple as numbers on a whiteboard. It is about one's ability to process complex information. Mathematics enables one to quickly solve real world problems. Sometimes you have information reported to you that is difficult to interpret."
Second piece of paper: "Two mothers and two daughters sat down to eat eggs for breakfast. They ate exactly three eggs, each person had an egg. One mother is murdered, how many people are left?" Sets and subsets are an important, albeit boring, lesson in mathematics.
Crate: 3
This crate once opened, reveals another table, but this time a machine is strapped to it. A large cybernetic arm rests on the table. There is a single chair for a person to sit next to the cybernetic arm. The arm has it's elbow resting on the table in an arm wrestling position. There is a button next to it that says "Start." The machine has a single hardlight screen on the front that has a number on it: "5" [Roll a 1d100 on Gaia when you attempt to arm wrestle the machine. It has some give way, but only the mod can dictate a victory. One tenth of your post count will be added to the roll. Rounded down.]
A piece of paper next to the machine reads:"Cybernetics should never be underestimated. Even a simple replacement of a limb can sometimes be advantageous to the user in extreme situations. Imagine a swordsman who sacrifices their arm to land a lethal blow. Now imagine a man who has a cybernetic arm. They likely don't have fear and are far more likely to sacrifice their cybernetic arm for the lethal blow." Is the answer that obvious? Sometimes it is the opposite...
Crate: 4
This crate once opened, reveals an Atlassian droid head hooked up to an electrical box that powers it. The droid immediately sparks to like and asks the first person who opened the box a question: "Red is dead. Dead is red. How many feet, rounded down, would the distance be between dead and red? Subtract ten and there lies the answer you seek." The droid then powers off temporarily. Only to reactivate the next time someone stands before it. It repeats the same thing. Sometimes the answer lies where you first stood...
Crate: 5
This crate once opened, reveals another piece of paper that reads: "One mother dead, the remainder is said.
A dead droid's curse, rounds out the purse.
Another bite's the dust, how many are left to lust?" Sometimes simple addition and subtraction can come difficult...
[Feel free to make multiple guesses per post!]

The poor penguin's head could not take it much longer. A loud groan left his lips as Autrox did nothing but leave vague hints. This was nothing how he had pictured the place would go. He thought they would be taking droids apart or building them! Puzzles!? Riddles!? That was the last thing he would have guessed. With another groan he tapped his chin with his non broken arm as he stood in front of the first box. All of the other boxes had riddles except the first one, so what was the number for the first box? “Hmmmm… hmmmm…. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!” Bit by bit his thinking hums grew in noise, annoying for others perhaps but not for the penguin!
His eyes kept darting towards the red paint on the corners, there were three in total. Why paint those there if they weren’t going to mean anything? The class was starting to come to an end so anything was better than nothing. With a finger he put in 3 for the first part of the code, followed by a 2 for the second one, the answer to the riddle of the second box. As for the third he would place in the answer that would show when the arm was defeated, or if nothing showed up he would put the number of the times they had to arm wrestle it.
The last two were proving to be the most difficult for him. Red is dead? Distance? What if his original math was right he just needed to subtract 10? 14 minus 10 was 4! He put 4 into the fourth slot of the code. Just one more left. What was it!?
“Auuuuuugh. Think Ceru think!” He uttered out loud as he banged his head lightly against the first crate. “One mother dead. Robot dead? Another one bites the dust? Hmmmmm…. uuuuugh….. errr…..” His head continued to bang as he thought. “If there are two from the mothers riddle left, and another bites the dust… then that would be 1? There is one left?!” He wasn’t sure if he was right or not but put it into the last slot. Now he just needed to know if he was right.
Code inserted: 3 2 ? (If a number is revealed with the robot arm beaten it will be here, if not, he will put 5 cuz it was the number of rounds) 4 1
▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄ Ryker was never taking a math class again if he could help it in his lifetime. He was desperate to find an answer for everything at this stage of the class; they only had time for final answers now with no way to know if they were right or wrong besides attempting it. 'Did Rowan and Astra have geniuses take this class?' he wondered to himself in surprise as he really could not see any average intelligence person passing it. He would begin to try and think on the riddles one by one again, Aurtrox taunting words and riddles also echoing in his head. 'If three does not work...given there is no riddle or math, and we have a full keyboard, maybe that space is blank? Can we just press space to skip it maybe?' he thought to himself. He could hear the hmms and sounds of Ceru trying to think this through as well, though he didn't mind. They were all screwed and in this together; if vocalizing it helped Ceru Ryker was not going to stop the guy. He seemed to be getting ideas as well, as Ryker paces around each of the crates trying to figure out what the heck this all meant! The added stress was not helping things either; he just needed to have an answer he believed in so they could make as many guesses as able is Ceru was wrong. "Assuming it is a mom, a grandmother, and a daughter... the only way for everyone to have an egg and all sit at a table, with one mom being the key subtraction...I still think its two even if he won't confirm a damn thing to make this easier for us,' he thought to himself as he paced to crate three again...his words teasing him. They won five rounds till it hit zero. 'No magical answer but...maybe the answer is five? Or maybe they had to do it more to see if it kept going past zero, but we're out of time so I guess five works,' he resigned himself to that one. He would then pace over to crate four. 'I...I have no clue. Ceru seemed to know something though, as he didn't ask or have a doubt on this answer...and fourteen minus ten is four...I'll trust him here,' he thought to himself. He had to just trust him as they had some answers in common, and he had no clue himself. He finally got to crate five. "God freaking- why do the riddles get worse! Lets see. The answer could be 0 because I don't want to imagine either of the two survivors from before lusting if I also assume the middle part doesn't matter. But...each detail seemed to matter before...And technically lust can be to a husband and boyfriend...So the answer could be two. What's round mean though...Add? Subtract? If it's add, so we don't get a negative answer, then that would be two plus six. Which minus one is five. So maybe five??? Or One if its mom and a daugher with one killed; too many possibilities ahhh!' Ryker though as he pulled on his hair from the tress.
Ryker felt like a conspiracy theorist now after this class with trying to piece everything together. He would walk back to Ceru, and speak when he saw he wasn't sure for one of them. "Try five, and if it doesn't work then zero? I think I got an idea for different answers in the other parts, but try this first in case im wrong," Ryker would offer as he sincerely hoped Ceru was right. If he was wrong, he damn well would give it his all and type all possible passwords he could think of.
[If Ceru got it wrong] "Here, let me try. I got a few ideas and a lot of answers but...I will squeeze all possibilities I can in this. If you got any ideas Lyo feel free to add in or put in your own code once I go through this. Now lets see. This first crate...Maybe there is no answer to it? Think about it; it had no riddle at all, and it had a keyboard with space. So maybe if we press space...we could have an empty spot for an answer. It could be three as well, so i'll try that if I get it wrong with space and the other combinations," he would say with a pause, vocalizing the frantic thoughts he had and insane reasoning to get to this point. "As for the second digit, I agree its two. If a grandmother, mother, and daughter (where one mother serves as both a mother and daughter), then all three would be at dinner and each would have one egg each. So if just a mom died, only two would be left," he would say as he internally prayed it was not some niche case they hadn't thought of. "For crate three...I think it is five still. Since he made the comment of four rounds down when me and Lyo only had one more to go; if not I can try zero maybe?" he would say, sounding unsure here. "For crate four...I think the math you did is maybe right? This ain't my strong suit so i'm trusting you here with this Ceru. I believe in it though," Ryker would say to him before looking at the final possible digit. "Now this...this is a whole mess of digits. It could be one, if we think the rest of the phrases in the riddle is meant to mislead us. It could be five, if we add the four from cerus math for the dead droids curse riddle when they say round and then subtract one from it as one bites the dust...I don't know how some of them would lust though. So i'm just going to try one and five and pray one of those is right," Ryker would say as he explained his reasoning for things. Maybe he would give one of the others an answer if all his ideas were wrong as he inputted every combination from them he could think of rapidly.
Rykers answers (with the variations he would try; the first answer before or being his main guess on the right numbers): Spacebar or 3 2 5 or 0 4 1 or 5 (if none of these work he may toss a 2 here for good measure)

Lyosha Rodion (Fava) Ruric
The Lost Bug: Lyosha
(This is going to be a bit of a messy post because I haven’t posted in this until now)
Lyosha would cheer too, after completing the last round of arm wrestling with the damn machine! A joyous smile was on his face as they did this. “Thank f*ck that’s over with.” He said, sweating prediously himsel. He hadn’t needed help in the terms of strength or a long while, and it was nice to know that someone could match him to beat the stupid machine. “O-Oh- They just came up this morning- I don’t really know what they are. I’m probably needing to go to the doctor once I’m out of class.” He said as he it his cap more snugly over them, hating for someone to have noticed them, he had tried his best (despite not) to hide them. He took a short break (probably off somewhere else in the gym, moving around to get his brain adjusted to the class) and then came back to see...the scene in class. He hated math, and he hated riddles. He had failed this class too many times in the past for him to think any differently now. He watched Ryker and Ceru thing o the puzzles as he racked his brain to try for a solution, but nothing came up. His muscles were sore, and his head throbbed with both frustration and fatigue. He looked up to the ‘teacher’ and groaned. He hated this teacher, he couldn’t help but want to hurt the teacher themselves. After all, they’re never going to be using this! Not at all would he find himself needing to answer a riddle. If something needed a riddle to answer, enough explosiveness and force could break through the thing needing the answer. Lyosha wasn’t...helpful, and it almost looked like he was constipated from thought. “I’m sorry everyone- I have no idea what to do here. I’ve never been good at these things. If we had a hammer and chisel we could break these damn things without much of a problem…” He groaned as he heard the teacher’s clue. Clue? That was a clue?! Lyo looked even more frustrated by this as he sighed. “So Each box is a single number in a five digit code. We know that one of them is probably 0...Uhhhh” He racked his brain some more, not getting anywhere. “I like Ryker’s idea- let’s hope that’s right…”

Aurtrox saw that the struggle was real, unfortunately the best person to help this particular class succeed, Naetami, seemed to be zapped of energy and simply dazed off into the distance. Ceru desperately went for a code. It came back with a red border and the same mechanical laughter from inside as before. "Ceru, I must say, you did have three fiths of the password correct, but unfortunately that is not enough to pass..." Aurtrox paced around them all now as Ryker started to desperately enter in different combinations."Oh so very close..." He said after the first code Ryker put in failed [0-2-5-4-1].
"In real life, mathematical notation does not exist. You will not find a division or multiplication symbol carved into a tree or stone. You will simply have trees and stones around you. It is up to you and your brain to take real life and convert it to something that you can mentally operate on." He would stop his pacing and stand beside the giant lock box. Ryker would enter in his second combination [Space Bar (0)-2-5-4-5] and then a sound nobody had heard before would clank on the inside of the machine. Then other clicking noises would follow and the seal would finally break. Aurtrox's brows raised slightly in surprise. They actually did it! The vault door would slide open slowly to reveal a wooden table with a small metal skull on it. It's mechanical jaw would move up and down as a voicebox inside said: "Congratulations! You win! You win! You win!..." It would repeat that same message over and over. Small metal badges fell out of it's mouth. Each one was a pair of aviator wings.
"I would be lying if I didn't say I was impressed, the past three classes to take my math class have failed. You all deserve it Each one of you was critical in figuring out specific values." He would motion with his arm for them to each step forward and take a badge. Whether they wore it or just kept it as a keepsake was up to them. "Now, for a final explanation... The first box was the vault, or lockbox. It had no value itself, but did provide a clue to another puzzle's value. So the first answer was indeed zero." He would walk gracefully over to the second crate. "In order for there to be three total, but two mothers and two daughters, one must both be a mother and a daughter. This is a grandmother, her daughter, and her daughter. The granddaughter. If either mother is murdered, the three become two."
Aurtrox would tap the side of his nose with his left index. Then continue on.
"Sometimes you have a struggle, the answer may seem to be the number in front of you, but it is also sometimes the opposite. In this case the number of victories was what was important. Technically you could have chosen not to fight this machine and you would have still been able to win by simply pressing zero. The goal was never to beat this individual challenge, but to enter the right code. The challenge itself was nothing but a distraction. yet, if you had not engaged with it, you would not have learned such."
Crate four caused him to chuckle a little. "This one was confusing, as the answer relied on information from the first crate, yet the character would be in the fourth place. This is also the only one that required prior knowledge. You see one red corner was at the upper corner of the first crate, and the other was diagonally opposite. The sides were each ten feet long and this means you need to calculate the hypotenuse, which would give you fourteen. Subtract ten and you get four. The puzzle was rather simple, but the situation around it was quite abstract and required critical thinking... Or a prostrate penguin."
Aurtrox would smile as he reached the last crate. "This puzzle is quite important, for if you do not get the other puzzles right, you certainly won't get this one right. It is a final check, if you will. It draws upon the other puzzles. 'One mother dead, the remainder is said,' obviously two was the answer for that one. 'A dead droid's curse, rounds out the purse,' as we established four... You add two to four and get six, then the final line. 'Another bite's the dust, how many are left to lust?' The addition wasn't entirely obvious between the first two lines, though the subtraction here is, minus one and six becomes five."
And with that, the system of puzzles was solved. Aurtrox gave them a few claps and a final bow. "Ceru, Netami, Ryker, and Lyo. You have all passed. Your student records will be updated, and I hope to see you in a future class!"

[YOU PASSED! Make sure to add this somewhere in your profile page!]
Aya woke up quite late today, she did wake up when both Apolo and Rin left for their mission but she immediately went back to sleep as the two left the dorm, she also knew that Kyu probably had his plans for today and she was no different. Around 11 am Aya left for the gym to get some workout, while she is free again and has no class or a mission she still needs to stay in shape, there is no way she will just slack off this entire time especially when she wants her body to stay the way it is. Getting on the treadmill Aya placed two earphones in her human ears and two earplugs on her fox ears, she wanted to just run freely without any bother from the outside, playing some relaxing songs and BGMs from many different games she liked and began to run with her eyes mostly closed so she could truly space out. A few months have passed from when she finally got back but the feeling did not leave her yet, thank god she was raised to hide her emotions from a young age.
