i dont even pay attention to anything on gaia anymore. my avatar bubble thing has said '10 announcements' for over a year cause i never ever click on it.
i only click up there if i get private messages.

Pain does not exist... I think so... a bit... it makes me sad... but luckily so many of us are in touch on other sites now also... and maybe that's why this guild is dying a bit... we started hanging out in other venues a lot too?...in my dojo

The guild just needs to recruit more active members and purge those who no longer post (and those with 0 posts).

colon bracket The guild just needs to ... purge those who no longer post (and those with 0 posts). Tried that before. Didn't work. Not only are there a RIDICULOUS number of inactive people, but also someone who hadn't posted in a couple years got VERY offended when he got a notification that said he was removed from the guild.

So what?
If they cared so much then they would find time to post.
All you have to do is include a note in their ban. Something like, "You were banned for inactivity, but if you choose to become active again then feel free to re-apply."
There are a lot of mods in this guild. It wouldn't take long to ban inactive members if everyone worked at it together whenever they had time to do it.

I think a lot of members are active...they just don't post. So I suppose it depends on your definition of active. I know I don't post as much as I used to because I feel like I don't know anyone anymore. :-/

I did exactly this a little over a year ago, and it most certainly didn't do any good at all. Getting rid few hundred (by myself, mind you) people didn't even begin to make a dent. Didn't matter that I did include a message. Other people didn't jump on board. And quite frankly it doesn't matter about getting rid of inactive people. It doesn't make people more active. It makes no difference at all and is just a huge waste of time.
