She had done that well enough with her own hands. The marking on the top was a bit faded, an obvious mistake. It was nothing compared to the inside, though.
Taking a bite, Mera's faced soured at the overly-sweet taste. Too much, too much, too much. Blegh. Perhaps Elidae would like something like this, but... Elidae wasn't here. Alas. She wanted to throw them away, and fast; she didn't need another mistake over her head.

His goddamn lusus. Leeroi caught sight of Hogdad and fled. Guo was left behind, moon cakes still not thrown. Now they were just growing cold. Rats! Shaking off the hay, Guo started up after the other kid. He'd catch up and kick his a** by hook or by crook!

His own lusus hadn't worked on his favor, but not all was lost. The goat mom appeared, and distracted Leeroi with little trouble. Now was his chance! Guouli creeped and creeped. Aim...fire! He started throwing moon cakes willynilly at his friend. "HaVING FuN StUFFING YoUR FaCE, FaTTY?" he asked with a laugh.
Next he reached for more ammo, hoping to absolutely destroy Leeroi if he kept him cornered.

Not too keen on.... experiencing her charges cooking, Machim hung back and simply waved him on from a distance. As she watched his latest cooking attempt, the lusus decided that this was definitely a good call. With as nerve-wracked as he was, the youngster managed to give his attempt a good smokey flavor - but failed to properly mix, knead and bake. Well, at least he wasn't totally hopeless.

A bit of mooncake splattered over his cheek, and he grumbled, wiping it off. "Hey, wait! Ceasefire!" He said, trying to get Guo to stop. He opened the box, presenting the cakes to his friend. "Check these out," He said, offering a the box up. "Glitch made 'em. They're ******** perfect, dude. You want one?" The hornbeast behind him stamped at the ground, pursing her half-lips into a smile at her child's praise. It wasn't often the hornbeast received a compliment, or even attention from him. She'd relish the moment.

After all, you could never have too much food, right? Rolling up his sleeves and pushing his hair back, Leeroi asked his lusus for some pointers. Be gentle, my kid.Gentle? Gentle. The word felt strange. Still, he'd listen to her advice. He wanted to make perfect mooncakes himself! He deserved that! Finishing his cooking, Leeroi looked at his creation. Gross. It was all mushy, the stamp was barely there! These sucked. This was the last time he would listen to his lusus' advice.

Quote: I'm digging in the haystack ... I found: nothing Tickets won: 1 Leeroi was adamant about finding that needle. He was taking home a prize from every booth, except from the haystacks. Sure he had found buttons to take home, but that wasn't the real prize. The real prize was the needle, and Leeroi was going to find it, even if it made him sick! And it did. The haystack made him very, very sick. After 15 minutes of rustling, Glitch wrestled her child out of the stack and made him take a break. There was no way she was letting him die from hay fever!

There it was. He could see it so brightly and clearly now. As if hypnotized, Amonee moved his hand towards the haystack with very precise movements, digging his hand into the top of the stack with a focused expression. His treasure was cradled gently inside his palm and the boy pulled it out and uncurled his fingers to smile down at it.
"Soon I'll have a proper collection!" A shiny hot pink button glistened from the festival's lanterns and he held it up to compare it next to the moon. This was going to be a lucky year, he thought, and this button was just the omen to prove it! Tucking it inside his pocket, the jadeblood went along his way with a peppy bounce in his stride.Quote: I'm digging in the haystack ... I found: button Tickets won: 5

Slowly but surely he was getting better at this. Unsure hands pressed at the dough and manipulated it awkwardly. It clumped in his hand and Amonee winced at seeing the flattened result but tucked it neatly on his tray anyways. He couldn't give up now! Putting it into the oven, he concentrated hard this time on counting the seconds down. The farmer had given him some advice earlier to keep from over or undercooking it and this time he was going to get it right
"I... I did it!" There it was when he opened the door, a perfectly browned mooncake, slightly larger on one side than the other, with a sweet aroma coming off of it. It was far from ideal but it was edible and that was all that mattered to the jadeblood at this moment.
He was so proud!Quote: I'm burning mooncakes! I mean baking. My cakes are: Cloying (-1), Tender (+1), Press too hard (-1), Perfectly Cooked (+2) Tickets won: 1

"Doesn't it smell divine?" Amonee asked the troll next to him with a beaming smile as he dropped some more diced carrots into the pot. He was really looking forward to the stew now, everyone's good feelings were inside there! And maybe some not-so-good ones too but the boy turned a blind eye to such things.
The festival was looking livelier and livelier as it got closer towards the end of it and Amonee was ecstatic over all the new people and new activities. He wished it would go on forever!Quote: I'm potentially poisoning everyone. Quality increase: +3 Barter crop: N/A Tickets won: 2

Let's see, today's exchange rates were... Amonee peered over the sign and counted up what produce he had left. Everything appeared to be in decent shape without signs of rot so they would all be accepted for trading in.
"Please take these totatoes!" Why was he holding onto the biggest and heaviest of his vegetables last? The jadeblood had no idea. It was certainly a silly thought but it wouldn't be smart for him to turn them in at this point. Accepting his tickets, the boy beamed at the troll running the booth and thanked him for the game. It was an interesting way to learn economics he supposed though he still wasn't very good at math.Quote: I'm participating in the exciting and vibrant agricultural market!
