It started with the car... and last week was just wonderful enough that I'm glad all that happened on Friday was my mom getting attacked by a dog. Same dog made the mistake of attacking me the next day...

I remember getting attacked by two German shepherds going way back to when I was about 10 years old, they ate most of the back of my knee off, and if it wasn't for this lady and her huge walking stick who saved me, I could have been their meal. I had to have surgery, and the stupid owners didn't even say anything to my family at the time..
I hope your mum and you are ok, and that the they didn't bite you badly>> gonk

Mom got into the house before it could bite her, and the dog ran into my gun before it could reach me.
If you were in the US your parents coulda sued to get the owners to pay for your surgery.

Lets put it this way, if that lady and her stick didn't come to the rescue, I really could have been eaten. These dogs were very vicious and have always been kept behind the huge neighbors fence. However the wind must have blown open the fence, and I was coming home from school at the time.
I had bits of skin falling off me, and blood everywhere, and they actually starting eating at my long hair, that's how bad it was. This happened in the late 70's or early 80's. So back then people didn't know things about the law and such, well not my family. The weren't into that sort of stuff. From that day, if I see a huge dog somewhere, I'll walk the other way. After this experience, I have a fear of vicious dogs.
And not to mention deep water, but that's another story. gonk

I don't get why people keep vicious dogs, when they know they'll attack people.
They were able to fix up your leg well enough so you could walk on it and become a cop though?

I don't know either Sam, and it's also the reason why I didn't use and train with dogs, when I was a cop. I had and still have a terrible fear of them..
Apparently from what I heard back then about these dogs, is that the owner used to put some kind of needles into these dogs to make them that vicious that he was the only one safe with them.. Not sure how that works though..
Yes, over time my knee became strong enough to be able to do the things I want to, which was a blessing for me. biggrin

Trust me, this wasn't fun at all, it was one of the scariest moments of my life. I was a little kid, who was practically eaten by these vicious dogs, who were by the way, bigger than me. I was a short stop back then. gonk

I'm rather frightened of Cheney's avi right now.
That's actually the reason I took out the dog Orphy, there was no where for me to go and it was running at me fast. I spent the past week unable to safely go outside and worried about my cats. I think the dog was rabid and just wanted to kill everything it could, it ripped apart one of our exterior doors to try and get to mom.

Sam: This dog you speak of, was it your dog, or someone else's? In my opinion, and I guess everyone else's too. I don't think that vicious dogs should be running lose out on the streets, it's a dangerous world out there with them in it. gonk
Cheney buddy, what you doing up so late?

Side request: If ether of you see my tank glow tell me what fish it is... almost all of my dolphins are dead, I'm just seeing if they'll still glow.
@Orphy: Someone dumped two dogs on my property on July 3rd, their both vicious, but just one went after us. We don't want them and I've tried running them off but it's not working.
@Cheney: We have/had a farm so the dogs used to randomly go after my live stock. They've killed all of my chickens and ducks so far so stay dogs are usually not welcome around here. Never quite had this problem before though.
