The band of cloth he wears to keep his mane out of his eyes and the strip around his front leg were actually from another lion he had come across whom he conned out of the cloth. The necklace of the hare's skull and other teeth and claws was something he found in an abandoned humans' camp along with the earrings. The ostrich feather was the only thing he really earned, chasing down one of the birds just so that he could pluck a feather, but the bird had been tasty, too.
